Reviews for Queens Hotel & Nightclub

Review 1:The phone was not working give us old beds not even confi too sleep the handle door is broken hard 2 swap the card even we have 2 cards one card is not working

Review 2:Near city centre

Review 3:Room standard was poor. Noisy - night club noise at night, Christmas songs blaring from the street in the early morning. Not good value for money.

Review 4:Location

Review 5:Kept awake by noisy nightclub but we did know in advance that there was a nightclub in the hotel so it was ok for 1 night

Review 6:Great value & excellent location. Would be nice & quiet Mon to Wed

Review 7:Because of the floods that had happened the travelling was awful

Review 8:The hotel had a great atmosphere and so did the night club you could never walk past any member of staff without then saying hello so friendly

Review 9:the door to the bathroom did not close due to not made to size, the taps were dripping, the toilet had a very flush, there was only 1 chair in the room. the room no. 123

Review 10:the staff were first class in reception and restaurant

Review 11:You can't get any sleep, the noise from the road, people shouting, they need a Major revamp ,sound proof windows, it's like going back 20 year's in time. Never again. It's a pitty, good location. Needs a million pound investment.

Review 12:Not a lot,

Review 13:It has wireless but not in your room, only in the lobby. Tv was very old, no remote, only a few stations.did not care for the shower at all.

Review 14:It is an old hotel in the town center. Easy walking to shops. Parking is difficult and you need to park in a town park. Costs about €5-6 a day.View from my room was of the abbey grounds.

Review 15:The unconscionably loud music that kept me till after 2 am both nights I was there. How can you call yourself a personable hotel when you allow the bar's music and conversation in the garden below to be more important than the sleep and comfort of your hotel guests? I would never, ever stay there again. I am also a travel writer and my readers will hear about this.

Review 16:Location, history, breakfast, staff.

Review 17:Room out dated, you could hear the night club it was very vary loud, for €90 for a double room only very pricey incount of lack of sleep!

Review 18:I like the staff v much... very nice night poet was a gentleman and very helpful.

Review 19:It's heavily over priced for what you get. Basic rooms, dated decor and a bathroom which I wouldn't describe as clean

Review 20:Friendly staff, great location. No bother from the nightclub noise (had been dreading it from previous reviews) despite staying on a Saturday night.

Review 21:Suffering terrible back pain, the lift was not working. Had to labor up about 20 steps to room 103, on 2ndfloor. Would have stayed 2 nites more. Should have gotten a good discount or free breakfast!because

Review 22:Staff help

Review 23:Room was very clean and comfortable. We were fore warned about the Disco so if noise bothered us then we would have no grounds for complaint. But in saying that I don't think its ideal to place people in rooms where that kind of noise prevails at night. The price was reasonable but the Hotel does need updating. The staff wee very helpful also. Overall we had a nice experience.

Review 24:We got the parking for free but had to remember to place ticket in the car everyday. Suggestion would be to give permit for duration of stay.

Review 25:Big windows in room, bright in the day, black out blinds so dark at night. Didn't hear the night club at all

Review 26:We arrived very late but had forewarned the staff of our situation earlier in the day. We received a warm welcome and given the keys to our room. We went back to the car to collect our belongings. The route to our room was challenging. There was a lift which took us to a floor, at the end of the corridor we had to decend another staircase to find our room. It was next to a busy street which wasn't a problem, however the room was not of a standard that would reflect the price charged. The bathroom had tiles missing, around the bath was filthy and the floor had a mixture of broken, loose and missing tiles, it also had a gather up of all kinds of debri in each corner, hair, dust and dead insects. Also the TV was like something from the dark ages, no remote control and no instructions on its use. We went back to reception to complain but the staff had gone. We did arrive very late and as a result we had nowhere else to go. The bed was comfortable but we slept and left. Our bill was refunded by 1/3 via the telephone 1 hour after we had departed after the reception staff had contacted a manager. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone! It was very disappointing after such a long journey and the reception staff were unable to deal with the complaints then and there. I took photo's of the bathroom which frighten me when I look at them.

Review 27:Location was excellent.

Review 28:Awful receptionist.

Review 29:I was not happy with the way we were dealt with in this hotel, the receptionist was disgraceful a foreign lady, I am sure most staff are great but this lady would give the hotel a bad name.

Review 30:No wifi in the room! The bathroom was shabby and the shower in the morning was lukewarm. The TV was from the dark ages with a terrible picture and no remote control. From the outside, the hotel didn't look like the photos (completely different colour), so we drove around for 15 minutes looking for it even though we had driven right past it. Overall, the photos make it look much nicer than it really is.

Review 31:No wifi in the hotel rooms

Review 32:Located in a perfect part of the city. Great bar, restaurant, and nightclub attached to hotel. Very comfortable beds. Friendly staff

Review 33:we had lunch on arrival but service was very slow ....we ate elsewhere after that. Location of hotel was very noisy.

Review 34:Staff were very helpfull and we liked the old world charm of hotel.

Review 35:Are the staff overworked or underpaid?

Review 36:The old feel to the Hotel . Stayed here nealy 40 years ago , a lovely memory. This time not so , the breakfast dining area is lacking in comparison to then , white cloths and silverware in old dining room was beautiful . Breakfast now is really Breakfast in a pub

Review 37:Bad location, very noisy when the nightclub is on, noisy on the street, no wifi in the room, stains on the floor and side of the bed, toilet door stuck couldnt get out for 10 minutes, no hotel parking.

Review 38:Price for four nights very good, staff friendly and willing to help, close to main part of the town very accessible

Review 39:Wifi was only in the bar not in the rooms. Breakfast not included in room price. Thought entry to nightclub should be free to guests.

Review 40:Great location. Lovely breakfast both mornings. Great entertainment in bar by night. Good value for money bar food.

Review 41:I did not expect a disco on both nights we stayed, the noise was very bad, and went on until 3am in the morning I asked for ear plugs to be left in our rooms but we did not get them would not recommend it to friends, think you should put in large print on your website that you have discos mid week.

Review 42:the hotel has a nightclub at Thursday onwards over weekend. the room I was in actually vibrated with the noise as did my inner organs. our room was changed when requested to a very quiet room. on check out we received no broken down bill only a till receipt . when I asked for bill I was told that was it.

Review 43:the staff were friendly and as helpful as possible

Review 44:The nightclub. And the fact the staff was not communicated to. We had a nice room and left to go out to dinner and when we walked back in they told us we had to move rooms because the plumber was coming and they had to turn the water to our old room. Our new room was on top of the club and was not of the same quality, especially the TV.

Review 45:The location

Review 46:very noisy when the nightclub is on.was much better when nightclub is not on so that a weekend stay.

Review 47:location is perfect for visiting the town.breakfast was good value.

Review 48:Did not get one wink of sleep, night club directly below room and and people roaring on street all night. Considering it was a thurs night and not very busy they could have give us a better located room.

Review 49:It was cheap

Review 50:The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all extremely friendly, courteous and helpful! The price was amazing - I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to be in the heart of Ennis.

Review 51:There was no hot water, i tried having a shower at 5pm on the saturday evening and 10am Sunday morning and no hot water, not even luke warm just stone cold freezing. Food in the restaurant / bar was OK nothing worth writing home about. Bar got very expensive and varied in price for the same drinks!

Review 52:Staff were extremely friendly

Review 53:Although they warn you about the noise from the nightclub, they shouldn't even book guests when it's active due to the pure mayhem until 3am. Impossible to sleep.

Review 54:Location & room size.

Review 55:Wifi very poor. And also bath, water wasn't very hot. Lock on batman door wouldn't lock.

Review 56:Staff were great, food lovely, great value for money..

Review 57:Is not luxury but had cheaper room

Review 58:Needed an over night stay in Ennis town centre, hotel was perfect carpark, location, excellent value for convenience

Review 59:The night club is right below some of the rooms, which could really bother some people. I was in such a good mood I didn't care, but others might. Also my room was far too warm even with the window open.

Review 60:I stayed alone while the other 13 in my group stayed across the road in the hostel. The hotel was extremely accomodating and made so many exceptions for us. Excellent staff too.

Review 61:Hotel needs a little TLC in parts. My room was at the corner over the entrance, got woken up on both nights!

Review 62:Staff and location are excellent! My room was huge!!

Review 63:The room and bathroom is in need of a little love bit rundown but we didn't care we weren't there for a special occasion or a romantic weekend away so suited us fine!

Review 64:Excellent location in heart of restaurants and pubs! Great price as all we wanted was a bed for the night!

Review 65:The rooms could do with updating and our room was right overhead the night club even though we asked for a peaceful room when booking.

Review 66:The hotel is spotless clean and the staff are lovely

Review 67:People could be heard on the street and in the hotel in the early hours of the morning the room wasn't really clean, overall it was poor value for money

Review 68:Spacious bedroom and bathroom but could do with a revamp as flooring in the bedroom and tiling in the bathroom quite shabby and dirty. Difficult to sleep at night as noise could be heard from the bar downstairs,

Review 69:Great location and very central, Very helpful and friendly staff. Good value for money.

Review 70:The lift did not work in the hotel. I was on the 2nd floor. There was no wifi in the area of hotel I was staying in.There is no car park and the town only has 3 hour paid parking!!!!!

Review 71:the very restricted wifi coverage and the short lead on the kettle ment i had to boil the kettle ON THE FLOOR

Review 72:the hotel staf were friendly and helpfull

Review 73:The bouncers that moved into the hotel at the end of the night club. The bouncers then treat you like a prisoner, they growl and intimidate you never experienced anything like it.

Review 74:The welcome the friendly staff, everyone except the bouncers.

Review 75:The toilet was noisy refilling.

Review 76:The staff were lovley. I had read reviews saying thet the staff were rude but i got such a great deal that i didnt care. When I arrived however i found it the exact opposite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I couldnt fault them. The location was excelent the rooms were clean and there was a real fire lighting in the lobby in the morning. Rooms were spacious and comfy

Review 77:1. Bar patrons at attached bar have easy access to the hotel hallways. Hotel security needs improvement. 2. Clientele at attached bar was more appropriate for a seedy dive, not any kind of hotel. One was asleep at the bar; another was definitely high. 3 Restaurant service was slow and inattentive

Review 78:very central location--no need for a car front desk service was very good

Review 79:Asked for a non-smoking room but there was a really bad smell of smoke in it. Bathroom needed a lot of work. Room was not cleaned properly after the last guests as there was clothes left in the wardrobe.

Review 80:Location was excellent. Very cheap for the night

Review 81:I booked this Hotel on line but when I got there they refused to give a room I gave them my ref number and they just told me ur not booked in and had to leave staff were cheeky absolutely ridiculous

Review 82:Shower connection hanging loose from wall/ could not regulate heating - reported to receptionist c. 8.30-9.00 pm Nothing done by checkout 12 noon following morning - advised different receptionist of my disappointment-IGNORING A PROBLEM DOES NOT MAKE IT GO AWAY!

Review 83:Bed was very comfortable and bedroom clean. Breakfast in morning was fine.

Review 84:Too close to nightclub very noisy at week ends.We were kept awake until at least 4.30 as even when music stopped the crowd congregated on the street outside hotel for hours .

Review 85:very central location

Review 86:Unfortunately our room was very cold.

Review 87:I have stayed in the hotel a number of times now on trips to Ennis and always with great pleasure. Staff are very friendly.

Review 88:The hotel needs to upgrade their mattresses, very uncomfortable. Shower needs better shower heads and more water pressure. More TV stations would be great, but it seems that everywhere we stayed had the same cable tv.

Review 89:Mostly everything was great, food, service, location and staff.

Review 90:As the title suggests, it was hard to get a good nights sleep as there was a band playing until after one in the morning. Also, lack of wifi within the room was a downside.

Review 91:Comfortable, clean, friendly staff

Review 92:Mattress was a big dip and not comfortable. Old ill fitting windows meant that even though we were on the third floor, the sounds of patrons outside (smokers?) seemed like they were in our room. In fairness, the name of the place gives fair warning it won't be quiet. Few hangers in wardrobe.

Review 93:Staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was absolutely top notch. Request for ironing board, extra blanket, hangers etc were met within minutes. If you plan to be a late night reveller, it would be grand.

Review 94:very noisy guests on our floor arrived back after 4am ,,, then whoever they were decided to ring our room and my friends room, pretending to be the manager and asking us if we were enjoying our stay at about 5 am... i was not at all impressed.... but i know its not the fault of the hotel

Review 95:we did like the hotels location and easy to park right opposite hotel

Review 96:carpets where not clean and tv had only one station . pay parking was expensive

Review 97:food was good staff helpful. good value for money, stayed mon and tuesd nite and there was music in pubs and good crowd about, meals next door in cruse bar-restaurant was first class and good pints served by therese who was just great .

Review 98:general decor shabby; noise from nightclub; only 5 channels on ancient tv; half a toilet roll; generally run down; felt every cent of €49

Review 99:staff- lovely helpful and friendly receptionist; nice firm bed; nice bed linen; location for where I needed to be; staff again! price; being on my own!

Review 100:Stayed here on a Thursday night. Were accommodated on first floor. A live band played in bar below until 2am and music was loud enough that we could hear clearly the lyrics of every single song. Sleep was impossible until bar closed. Asked staff on checkout why they couldn't have put us further away from bar given hotel wasn't busy and was told "the noise is the same in all the rooms"

Review 101:The shower wasn't great since we were only stay one night we didn't complain and the beds were great but very clean and great location and safe.

Review 102:staff were very nice and we were ing made aware that there was a night club attached to the hotel.

Review 103:Have stayed here a few times and it is hit and miss with the staff sometimes they can be friendly and helpful but other times they can be rude and unhelpful. Twice we stayed we asked for late checkout and got it but last time we asked about late checkout and were told by a girl at desk that they don't do late checkouts!! Also in the niteclub we were told next time we stayed to inform the receptionist that we wanted free entry to club so did this only to be told "oh no we don't have anything to do with niteclub" . Bit confused.com. Also the colour of the residents bar is a bit depressing , dark blue not very warm and inviting atmosphere.

Review 104:It is a great central spot to stay in. An array of pubs and shops to choose from. Niteclub is excellent , and when staff are friendly makes the stay all the better. yolo bar across the road has excellent food at great prices.

Review 105:To be honest I cannot say one bad thing about the Queens Hotel. The staff were nice, the rooms were clean and the receptionist at the desk greeted us with a lovely smile so we were happy. 10/10 :)

Review 106:The noise and the music from the disco bar was over the limit everywhere in the hotel until 2 a.m., in all the rooms without exception. not recommended for families with children or for anyone who cannot sleep with noise. The rooms need renovation, the furniture is old and scratched.

Review 107:The staff was ok, they allowed us to change the room, very good breakfast (recommended) for only 5 euro. It's ok to stay for a night if you can sleep with noise and music

Review 108:Rooms were very old. Loud music and a lot of yelling during the night from the clubs downstairs. No Wi-Fi in the room, only in the lobby. No parking onsite.

Review 109:Location.

Review 110:Just a minor drawback not having own car park but public parking only a very short walk.

Review 111:Excellent value for money with the option to have freshly cooked breakfast each morning at an unbelievable price. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, would stay again and would recommend to other people.

Review 112:Pub/Club across the street extremely noisy. I had been informed of this at booking tho. Bring a sleeping tablet :-)

Review 113:Central location. Easy facility to park locally for 2 Euro overnite.

Review 114:It was so conveniently located! Parking was off-site bit nearby. Great restaurants, and the bar a cross the street was probably our favorite in all of Ireland!

Review 115:We knew that there was a nightclub in the hotel so we had already asked for a quiet room top floor which we didnt get when we booked. Then there was a disturbance in next room which night juty porter attended but noise carried on again when he left. To be honest its not the noise from nightclubs or late bars thats a problem but the disturbances comming from other rooms

Review 116:I didn't like that I had to go down to the lobby to use wifi I thought it was a bit ridiculous to be honest and frustrating. The bathroom needs a complete update, was vey small and the shower itself kept making a noise, disturbing my sleep.

Review 117:The room itself was nice.

Review 118:This is an okay place. It needs updating badly but that's all. Noisy at night but it is a nightclub, after all. Reception was efficient and the adjoining Cruises restaurant was terrific--great atmosphere and excellent food!

Review 119:Toilet Seat up in Bathroom and a large "POO" floating around. Not a good first impression. Extremely noisey. One socket by floor for kettle and my hairdryer. Very tired looking Bath with overhead shower which was poor. Provided 2 shampoos and no shower gell

Review 120:Reception Staff very helpfull and friendly

Review 121:Our room was above the pub next door (belonging to the hotel) and it was very noisy until late at night due to the smoking area I suspect. Wasn't expected on a Monday night but it wasn't a huge issue for us.

Review 122:Rooms were clean, nice and accessible. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 123:noise from the pub next door was very loud and went on till 12.30 on a Sunday night so no point in going to bed before then.

Review 124:staff were polite and very helpful room was clean

Review 125:the room was tired and in need of a good clean. carpet stained. bathroom stained and tired. dusty.

Review 126:Location. we were there for the nightlife and it is in walking distance. staff were friendly. sheets were clean and bed comfortable.

Review 127:Wonderfully helpful staff were always willing to go out of their way to advise and make it an enjoyable stay. Comfortable, clean and spacious hotel in the centre of Ennis.

Review 128:No parking

Review 129:Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Review 130:Shower Pressure

Review 131:Mick was an absolute gentleman, really looked after us!

Review 132:Window was leaking, room was freezing because of it. Wasn't worth €80 a night

Review 133:Location, staff helpful

Review 134:Room was cold and the view was a wall

Review 135:Politeness of staff cleanlyness and location
