Reviews for Kenmare Bay Hotel Lodges

Review 1:The Lodge was extremely well equipped with everything you could want for a self catering stay. The standard of furnishing was very high with furniture etc. similar to that which you would have in your home rather than the cheaper more basic furnishings that are found in a lot of self catering properties.

Review 2:First time to stay. We booked the 2 bed houses, fabulous decor, spacious & so modern. Lovely little closed in garden if staying with children. Cant wait to return in the summer. Hotel was closed while we were there but theres a restaurant down the road.

Review 3:We found the changing rooms in the Leisure Centre were not clean and even though the pool itself wad fantastic. I realise there was ongoing work in the changing room areas bit the floors were not clean.

Review 4:We liked everything about the lodge and the location.

Review 5:Great location - slightly out of town but an easy walk, massive house all to yourself and incredibly comfortable - both rooms have en suites. A really lovely place to base yourself.

Review 6:Sometimes slow service in busy bar especially if ordering bar meal.

Review 7:Excellent amount of space and facilities in the property and 5 minutes from centre of Kenmare together with convenient hotel eating and spa if required.

Review 8:It was difficult to adjust the shower temperature. Would have appreciated having been told on arrival that we would have to vacate the accommodation at 10 -11 rather than being told on the morning of departure.

Review 9:The apartment was very clean bright and airy. The additional touch of having tea, coffee, biscuits and milk available on arrival was much appreciated. The meals in the Hotel were very good and the leisure facilities a great bonus.

Review 10:Wifi was intermittent, not great. We had to sit out side to get occasional service. Open Wifi means event visitors, (weddings, etc) all compete for limited service. A problem if you are there on business. Very busy at weekends so bar and public areas packed. Plan to eat in the town, (Kenmare is great)

Review 11:Frieindly staff, great location with easy walking access to town. High quality lodges with spacious layout and good fixtures and fittings. excellent pool and SPA

Review 12:Washing machine instructions-we ended up only doing half of our requirement due to fact dryer would not open

Review 13:Fact we had space to ourselves and great price

Review 14:Good location with easy access to center of town. We had two units and they were very comfortable and spacious. So much nicer than just a hotel room.

Review 15:WiFi perfect for first 2 days but didn't work for remainder of our stay. Only 2 staff serving food in Bar, extra staff required there.

Review 16:Lodge really spacious, very well decorated, everything we needed plus more available in the Lodge. Each lodge has lawn at back. Extremely comfortable and quiet area, yet very close to the hotel.

Review 17:Nothing...

Review 18:The lodges were extremely comfortable and convenient to town. The use of the leisure centre was great..will definetly recommend and will b back

Review 19:We traveled with a young baby, all our needs were taken care of (travel cot / high chair). Lots of space. Within walking distance to the town (5mins on a well lit path). Great to have use of leisure facilities, and bar food was tasty. Found staff very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Review 20:The washer/dryer is a disaster - it took about 4 hours to do one wash/dry and after that the dryer didn't work at all WiFi signal was very poor in the lodges but was better in the hotel lobby

Review 21:We loved the location of the lodges - easy to walk to the town but located in a very tranquil setting which was quiet at night The lodges are furnished to a very high standard with very comfortable beds

Review 22:This has no reflection on the place, but I would loved check in to be earlier. As we would have loved more time in the lodeg.

Review 23:The lodge was absolutely beautiful, we we're blown away by it. The place was immaculate.Stunning views from the garden. The bedrooms are stunning, reception staff we're very friendly. Great customer service.

Review 24:THE CLEANLINESS, LAYOUT, DESIGN, ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT WORKED ie; DISHWASHER, OVEN, WASHING MACHINE, MICROWAVE, KETTLE etc.. THE STAFF WERE SO FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT AND ALWAYS WILLING TO GO THAT LITTLE BIT EXTRA TO ENSURE MY STAY WAS PERFECT., LOCATION WAS GREAT FOR WALKING AND SIGHTSEEING.

Review 25:Think the lodges had deteriorated, not 5 star anymore - rising floor boards in Kitchen, dirty plates in press, stain on carpet upstairs, missing buttons for flushing toilets, very disappointed!!

Review 26:Location fine, it was grand!! Had a working open fire, it was warm!

Review 27:Main hotel was closed,so reception was to an emergency telephone number which when needed was on answerphone..Rooms were not heated, when we arrived and could first be put on by maintenance next morning. To be fair hotel reduced the price because of this inconvenience.

Review 28:Well designed modern rooms. Two bathrooms and one extra toilet, large lounge and dining area, excellent kitchen facilities. Separate car park space.Three flat screen TV,s, ten minutes walking distance ( shortcut) to town.

Review 29:We have just returned after a long weekend and loved everything! The lodges are beautiful and within 5 minutes walk to beautiful Kenmare. We will certainly be returning. I am now redecorating our house as I loved the decor. Also loved lighting the open fire on our last night. Tea, sugar, coffee and milk provided but a lovely little supermarket 2 minutes walk. Thank you very much for a memorable stay.

Review 30:Only thing, and it's minor but parking there seems a bit strange. There are dedicated spots for each lodge, but no one seems to care where they park and the spot we had was never free, so we had to park at someone else's spot and then got told to move, so a bit annoyed at that.

Review 31:We rented a two bedroom lodge and it's the most amazing house I've stayed at in Ireland. The furnishing is great, the bedroom are huge. Even had 3 bathrooms with 2 ensuite. Kitchen has everything you can possibly need, so great for cooking in. Close to Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara so there are plenty of things to see in the nature. We didn't really explore Kenmare, so can't comment on that. Advised to rent a car when visiting this lodge.

Review 32:Value is always a consideration so for a longer stay price might be prohibitive

Review 33:Proximity to hotel and town Fantastic babysitter.... Take a bow Claire ! Supply of necessities , tea , coffee, milk. Etc always welcome

Review 34:For the summer time expensive the loudge.

Review 35:Beautiful location ,the house was excellent. We visited with children I can cooking washing clothes and enjoy the pool area.

Review 36:The house was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. It was a nice change of pace for us since we had been in a few B&B's. There were 5 of us and there was plenty of space.

Review 38:What's not to like luxurious house with all the essentials great decor private parking garden!!! A stroll to hotel which is plush to, just as the photos show! Staff very helpful and friendly. Will recommend it to everyone you won't be dissappointed

Review 39:There was absolutely nothing about the lodges I did not like. I can give only the highest recommendation to any prospective customer. I and my party had a wonderful stay.

Review 40:The facilities, cleanliness and comfort of the lodges are of the highest standard. It was a delight to discover tea, coffee, sugar, milk and cookies had been provided on arrival, as well as cleaning products etc. Nothing had been spared - even the view! Perfect location. Excellent value for an off-peak, midweek break.

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:Amazing place so clean and so comfortable, stayed in holiday home, have to be seen to be believed.everything there you could ever want, not one thing out of place, really made our holiday, thanks so much

Review 43:Good location for rings of Kerry and Dingle. However road to Killarney where most of the other sights are, is a 30 mile road, narrow, winding and full of busses.

Review 44:Modern apartment with well stocked kitchen. Large private back garden, albeit with no view. Good parking and Wifi.

Review 45:Nothing- better than home from home

Review 46:Everything. The lodge was first class - more like a boutique hotel in its fixtures and fittings. Everything we could possibly need was provided and it was so peaceful and quiet too. The housekeeper called to check that everything was to our liking - which it was. Definitely will book again next spring.

Review 47:Extra bed provided was only fit for the bin. Springs were coming right through. There was a blender which I was happy with until I saw it was all mould at bottom.

Review 48:Great location with friendly staff. Overall facilities very good but issues below prevented it been rated excellent

Review 49:Front desk staff could have been friendlier/more helpful. Restaurant staff was not helpful.

Review 50:Lodges are spacious, well-appointed, full kitchens, stocked well, laundry. Bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet. There are small enclosed yards in the back of the lodges where children can safely play. Loved the walking path to Kenmare town. A lovely 3 minute walk to shops, restaurants, pubs, music in the lively, pretty town of Kenmare. Easy access to the Ring of Kerry and Killarney National Park. Hotel and Lodges are also environmentally conscious, practice recycling and conservation. Simply gorgeous!
