Reviews for Ganga Lahari

Review 1:the bathrooms have poor lighting and ventilation.

Review 2:the location is excellent and perfect to visit the evening aarti. rooms and bathrooms are large and spacious. staff is courteous and helpful

Review 3:No working wi-fi for our entire stay was not acceptable in my opinion. Staff had very little English and seemed relatively uninterested, price quoted from reception for taxi back to Rishikesh was 1800 rupees when it cost us only 850 to come down exactly the same way, I felt that was frankly insulting, they told us it would be the same elsewhere. It wasn't, we found one for 1000 very quickly. Taxi's cannot drive down to the hotel, they must leave you at the main road and you must take a bicycle rickshaw down to the hotel which is a bit of a hassle and an extra 30/40 rupees but no big deal I suppose. The hotel restaurant only had 1 available item on the menu which I thought was pretty poor. However the thali was not bad at all.

Review 4:The rooms at this hotel are fantastic, really high quality with great shower rooms, the location is great right on the Ganges with a lovely view. I had mixed feelings about this place in the end, really lovely in some aspects and very poor in others.

Review 5:Bed was too high and the room we stayed was very cramped up. The electric kettle body used to get very hot on outside which was very dangerous wid the small kids. They need to change this for safety purpose asap.

Review 6:Location

Review 7:Food Price appeared to be on the higher side. Further, the foreign clientele should also be given a chance to taste Indian Spices & Cooking in addition to preparations to their taste and then Indian clientele will be happy.

Review 8:Welcome Reception was excellent.

Review 9:WIFI wasn't free and only available for 1 device per room which is not so convenient when you have computer and mobile ..

Review 10:location very close to the ghats , rooms are very clean with very confortable beds. despite rooms have no direct windows on the ghats, tables and chairs are disposed in the large corridor for each room and you can stay to observe life on the ghats (very interesting) and take a drink. Restaurant is a little bit expensive ( 450 Rs) but very nice veg food ( buffet /thali) with live music during diner. Despite we check out very early , they gave us take away :some sandwiches / bananas and water. Complementary Drop off to railway station by cyclo very convenient specially when you leave at 5h 30 am !

Review 11:the rooms are actually on a hallway which is the one with the river view, the rooms itself are contained, the curtains need to stay closed if you don't want the people passing in the hall seeing into your room, hence darkness all day and night. for the river view you have to go to the terrace and sit there, not the best solution. the same goes for the restaurant, the food is good btw., with a better thought out space arrangement one could eat with a view......

Review 12:Great location right on the gath, great service , staff very helpfull in planning and advising on travel opportunities ... very professional and great rooms ...

Review 13:Foods was lousy - may be because there was not enough occupancy. one should eat outside; there are many options for fresh food in the immediate vicinity.

Review 14:The staff was courteous.

Review 15:Phone number mentioned on booking.com was wrong (It was a Delhi number). So it was impossible to locate the hotel. I reached late at night, and because of the fact that the parking is across the river, it took me almost a hour to locate it.

Review 16:A few small things: Inflexibility about meals. We arrived late and there was no snack menu after 6pm. Very large bed, but only one armchair for two people! The lounge area outside the rooms was very good but noisy guests could disturb others, especially by talking loudly on their mobile phones. Maybe a notice to ask people to think of others would be useful.

Review 17:On the whole a very good choice. The best thing is the view of the Ganges from the enclosed lounge area outside the rooms. You can see everything from the large windows. Large comfortable rooms, very good shower rooms. The lunch thali menu and the dinner buffet were very good but there was nothing else on offer in the evening. The pick up from the station was excellent even though the train was about an hour late.

Review 18:Room service may be provided to make full value.

Review 19:Hospitality, food, service, staff and everything. And above all of this....BHAJAN SANDHYA...its amazing.

Review 37:The Wifi service is not free and it was one of the worst in our trip. I would really appreciate more "Western choices"in the breakfast.

Review 38:The situation of the hotel is really fantastic because it is situated just in front of the Ganges river and it's just 5 minutes walk to the amazing Har ki Pauri ghat where the hindu ceremony at sunset is performed (Ganga Aarti). Very nice and large room with views over the ghats and river. I also recommend its restaurant with very tasty Indian cuisine
