Review 12：Spent two nights - 2 adults, 3 children (ages 9, 7 & 2). Breakfast staff were great - friendly, helpful and good with the kids - set us up nicely for the day. Good food. Views from the room were right out over the Shannon (40metres) and a small marina. Family Room was grand (Irish sense), a double and three singles in a line, compact & modern (as was the bathroom). Nice nature walk next to the hotel.

Review 13：On the first night was wakened at 5.30 by a member of staff banging shouting the back doors, just below our room. This went on for half an hour.

Review 14：Rooms very dated but hotel in General was lovely, downstairs reception and bar areas very swank! Staff friendly and helpful cocktails amazing!!

Review 15：Heating in bedroom was not satisfactory on arrival. Complained to reception and was instructed to adjust stat on wall. The switch was not very visible,as it was located near base almost behind heater. Would consider heater not fit for purpose. On returning to room after wedding reception in ballroom ,heat was not on. It may have been controlled by central switch ??.

Review 17：I loved that I had a lovely accessible room. In addition, that staying overnight allowed us to enjoy great food AND a cocktail. As a former customer service manager I can honestly say that we enjoyed SUPERIOR customer service.

Review 18：Parking was limited and I had mistakenly understood there was a pool, so I was disappointed to realise there was none. My mistake, though.. I didn't like that I hadn't time to look around Carrick-on Shannon , which is a really lovely town! I will be back!

Review 22：Decor is very dated. The bed was the most uncomfortable one we've ever slept in, completely worn out, springs digging into your back and collapsing in the middle. Bathroom had rotten wood on the kick panel of the bath, seals around the bath mouldy (stained) - however you could tell cleaning staff did their best to keep cleanliness high, there were a few maintenance issues.

No one seemed to be in charge, people were coming in and ordering breakfast while other people had been sitting half an hour, had to ask for order to be taken, came out with my poached egg,no toast,had to ask for toast which took 15minutes,egg was cold, coffee was cold and it took almost an hour to get served. Never seen anything like it. Granted there was wedding party from day before but no excuse. Next morning there was an elderly lady in charge and like a different place,but this first experience was enough to put me off going back.

Rooms have a lovely view and both internal decor and architectural features of the building were really lovely. Has 2 very nice cafes/restaurants that make a lovely meeting place for locals to have a chat and coffee. Room was reasonably priced considering the location, facilities and surroundings. Only thing was, there seemed to be a blockage somewhere in the bathroom pipes and therefore a strong unpleasant smell. I reported this to reception. Reception were lovely and professional in manner.

Rooms are outdated considering the rest of the hotel is modern style. Lack of plug sockets in room. The hotel stay is overpriced, wouldn't pay more than 100 euro for the night. not worth 150 euro a night.

Review 91：A hotel that doesn't offer AC in the rooms is not 4 star as far as I am concerned. The bedrooms were tired and in need of redecoration. Shame, as otherwise this is a fabulous hotel. The receptionist mentioned that they were aware of the problem with the rooms and they were due for refurbishment in the winter.

Didn't like eating in the bar/lounge area as it was too night clubby looking, not all dining areas were open but it seemed to be a quiet time of the week. Review 123：Our room was fine - not particularly luxurious but functional, it is not really a space you'd spend a lot of time in. A number of lampshades in the room were lopsided and a bit rickety. The bar is not the best looking space, a bit cheap looking with the black tables and all the colors abound. The lunch portion was very small and very little salmon offered.

Service was efficient and welcoming. Exercise equipment can be ordered and is brought to your room. Lots of parking space at the back of the hotel.

Review 125：the hotel was very noisy and found it hard to get any sort of sleep due to the fact of many partys (hen's night) coming in the early hours of the morning and extremely noisy in their rooms banging doors and loud noise,spoke to reception and they were not aware of the amount of noise that went on and suggested that they monitor these partys as lot more and be aware of other guests staying in the hotel

I did ask why it wasn't open and it was explained it was only opened for weddings etc. I think with it being busy time of year it could hav been opened.
