Review 1：The rooms are modestly sized. The 'Ramsay' restaurant closes on a Monday. The downstairs restaurant in the wine cellar is not too great - or crispy poussin was cooked to destruction and inedible.The swimming pool is closed first thing in the morning so no early morning swim. The bar prices are horrendous.

Review 2：It's an interesting historical converted monastery of some character. If you were staying for a few days its spa facilities and pool would be nice, if expensive. Its location, close to Sienna useful for touring.

Review 3：Hotel rooms are in grounds as well as castle so check if travelling with friends. Levels of hot water in shower and baths vary. Some showers hot, bath water Luke warn.

Review 8：Castro Monastero is out in the country in the middle of Tuscany vineyards. Close to Siena and bike able to L'Eroica. The monastery and adapted hotel is amazing. The pools are perfected after working out although some guests complained about the temperature, which as swimmers we appreciate colder temps. Staff was great and both restaurants, wine selection and service was great.

Review 13：Gym was underwhelming. Living in Dubai, we are used to elaborate breakfast buffets, hence the mediocre score, but we understand that European standards are different from Middle Eastern. It was pricey, hence the impact on the value for money, but again, understand that this was high season.

Review 14：Great location and charming hotel in the region. Pools very relaxing, spa facilities very good. Staff were responsive and geared to recover in case of guest dissatisfaction.

Review 15：Due to rain this October and being out in nature the mosquitoes were a little active, so take a spray or cream. Better to rent a car, as the distances make the visits to other places quiet pricey. But if you value quiet, this is the place to be! Enjoy your visit there!

Review 16：A bubble bath with the Tuscan sunset behind me was magical! The vineyards made a wonderful walking experience, and just a few steps down lies the swimming pool and a Spa. The breakfast was to die for, offering an array of items. Their golden crown is the staff, smiles galore, informative, helpful and friendly. This location is far, so it makes for an ideally quiet honeymoon, resting place. Nice bar, open sitting patio amongst the wonderful natural stone buildings, your Medieval experience wraps you in moments of wonder and thought. Good wifi. Their underground dinner setting was intimate, and a very nice steak will be prepared. Tours are organized at your request to visit all the wonderful Tuscan towns, or experience a lunch/wine tasting day. We will always remember our days spent there! Many thanks!

Review 17：Lost, too much people. Like a village for tourist without soul. Expensive, food not good, restaurant closed. Spa : +40 euros each day for one person ! Not like the pictures on internet.

Review 19：The hotel simply could not fix our air conditioner for the first 6 nights so we did not sleep well. Was also unexpected that our room had no dresser for our clothes and virtually no hanging space either (even though the room was huge). Our first few dinner bills each had honest errors, too, which meant we had to check them all after that. Personal pet peeve was the silly prices for food at the pool (pushing €20 for sandwich in a box) and room service (€25 for a simple burger plus €20 for room service charge). Top class hotel, so just seemed odd to so overcharge for these simple things. Were a lot of children there, too, which was unexpected.

Review 20：Wonderful buildings and setting with very helpful staff. Their own wine was great, and the hotel is very well located for regional sightseeing and wine tastings. Spa treatments were also great, and the woman who ran the spa was very helpful and accommodating. We had a very large room with wonderful bathroom. We really enjoyed our meals at the two restaurants, particularly the more casual one. Certainly a relaxing and restful time.

Review 23：The breakfast should end at 11.30 instead of 10.30. The pool bar should be open for drinks at sunset and also after dinner. Renting a bicycle should be free, not 10 Euros per hour! The hotel should provide free shuttle services from/to airport and from/to the popular towns nearby. For the sake of tranquility and silence which is the main reason of staying in Tuscany, the hotel should not accept little children. The massages and spa treatments should not be that expensive.

Review 24：The hotel's location was wonderful, so peaceful and quite. The room was simple but excellent. The breakfast was exquisite. The staff at the reception and at the breakfast was very very helpful.

Review 28：The room ( a junior suite) was excellent. It included a very spacious bathroom (separate shower and bathtub.) The staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs! They even called us before arrival to confirm we did not have any problem reaching the hotel. Special thanks to the Russian girl in the reception and the Sicilian waitress at the restaurant! We wish you the best in your (new) lives! We really liked the dinner at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant! The chef and the Greek(!) sous-chef will very soon be in the news for a Michelin star!!! Breakfast superb- unbelievable fresh fruit!!! Really appreciated the organic products.
