Reviews for The Marker Hotel

Review 1:Everything, pleasant staff, nice hotel, good facilities, nice buffet style breakfast, breakfast staff were especially polite Rooms clean and spacious, nice bathroom, free wifi 10mins walk from city centre Taxis outside on demand, reasonable pricing Nice gym

Review 2:From the minute we arrived we were greeted with a smile, the staff could not have done enough for us all very friendly and happy to help with any queries. It was a lovely surprise to come back to the room and have a happy birthday cake awaiting us from the hotel (free of charge). The hotel was also very quiet even though there were lots of guests.

Review 3:Superb staff; made all the difference to a great stay. Very friendly and incredibly accommodating, even finding a (very) late table for dinner on NYE!

Review 4:Staff were exceptional. Room was beautiful and despite its very convenient city centre location and bustling bar, we heard no noise and had the best sleep in a long time.

Review 5:Location is terrific and the staff are so attentive, cannot do enough to help. There's a lovely doorman who's a Dublin and he's a gentleman

Review 6:The coffee at breakfast wasn't the best, tasted better at other hotels, and on our last day there was no buffet breakfast although the freshly cooked was nice , also on arriving was offered up grade of room but was told had to pay for this

Review 7:Staff were very friendly and accommodating, facilities were second to none swimming pool jacuzzi steam and sauna rooms and treatments if we wanted

Review 8:Our concierge Robert was outstanding and extremely helpful. as I was with my elderly mum this made all the difference.I asked for information on our way out and he had it typed and under our door on our return.

Review 9:Could have a better bar with more atmosphere.

Review 10:The hotel is beautiful and the staff are fantastic. The rooftop bar is a nice touch..If a bit chilly in the winter.

Review 11:Nothing everything was perfect...

Review 12:Everything was perfect, spa, room, breakfast, staff location and deco. Would come back in a heart beat. Truly wonderful stay while visiting Dublin for a wedding.

Review 13:Our shower door didn't shut/seal -- there was a gap -- and so every shower over 4 days meant mopping up the floor. More importantly, our heated bathroom floor didn't work, which was a disappointment. As important, we never had a meal at the hotel in 5 days' stay as the restaurant either was closed (Monday all day) or during the time we wanted to eat (11:30am on Saturday -- we figured there would be brunch but nope, no food to be had at the hotel). Even though there was supposed to be food served at the bar, it wasn't open then for Monday breakfast when the restaurant was closed -- only noon until later. We certainly expected for the price paid that we'd be able to get breakfast or even a basic burger or sandwich during meal times. Very surprising and disappointing.

Review 14:Location, beautiful design, room and wonderful bed! We had a king room facing the canal and although it was a little noisy on Fri/Sat night (weekend before Christmas so everyone was out/about) we loved being outside the craziness of standard tourist areas. Great cocktails. Friendly staff. Good workout area for running on a treadmill and basic stuff.

Review 15:Booked a second night 2 weeks before and called hotel to link the 2 bookings so we could stay in same room for both nights. This was no problem but on second day key would not work and room was not cleaned

Review 16:Room was lovely

Review 17:Lobby bar can be full of children due to the location of the theater next door. Having to pay for parking and breakfast on top of the room rate.

Review 18:Fantastic friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and of reasonable size

Review 19:It's a little out of town and not a pleasant walk. Taxi is easy and cheap. Amazing location for threate goers. I was unluck with my massage. It was the worst I've had. HOWEVER, the managers staff left me confident that it was unusual. My masseuse was put into tests and retraining that afternoon. I also didn't pay. If I had time, I'd have tried again.

Review 20:The spa was fantastic in its look and facilities. Rooms were very nice as were the restaurants. Recommend the steak breakfast. The staff were attentive and warm. The decor is stunning.

Review 21:I didnt mind having to pay the prices for the hotel room, food and drink during my stay, it is quite expensive but you are getting what you pay for, however having to pay an extra €24 euro for parking is ridiculous. That's the only reason I did not give full marks for value for money.

Review 22:Beautiful hotel, beautiful room, staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 23:Female staff in reception not helpful in recommending hairdresser-brochure says recommendations and appointments made for you-but three different girls didn't oblige. Male receptionist suggested place that worked out fine-Not normally sexist but....

Review 24:Loved most things-especially healthy options on menus-protein breakfast, protein box for lunch-yum!

Review 25:I'm only complaint would be I would have liked the breakfast to be a bit hotter that's all

Review 26:How important the staff made us feel.the room was fabulous. I hope the staff are appreciated because they really make the place and want me to stay again

Review 27:Very overpriced, I've stayed in nicer 5* for less. Superior King Room wasn't great, not sure what we were paying for, maybe my expectations were too high. No room service or late bar service.

Review 28:Brilliant location.

Review 29:very comfortable bed Fabulous bathroom with bath and double size shower Spa lovely, really enjoyed lava she'll massage Valet parking very pleasant staff 15min walk to Grafton Street, located in lovely modern area of Dublin city

Review 30:Downstairs bar could be slightly bigger. No haggis, beans or tattie scones for breakfast - guess where I'm from!!!!

Review 31:No noise transmitted between rooms. Air cond quiet and easy to understand. Staff FANTASTIC. High ceilings in rooms - lovely ambience. Underfloor heating in bathrooms. Lovely bath. Staff very attentive - nothing too much trouble. Great bloody mary breakfast bar! Complimentary litre of water per day.

Review 32:A 15 minute walk into the heart of Dublin city centre but a pleasant enough stroll along the River Liffey. Alternatively close to bus routes or helpful door staff will arrange for a taxi. We wanted to be away from the crowds and stag/hen parties but close enough to enjoy the sights. Not cheap for food and drink but it is 5 star. €25 euro for breakfast so we ate outside hotel. Corporate and modern rather than small and cosy.

Review 33:The hotel is lovely and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Beautiful accommodation and facilities. The rooms were very comfortable with beds, linen, pillows, robes and toiletries of the highest quality. The spa was amazing with a stunning pool, steam room and jacuzzi. The rooftop bar had amazing views and welcoming staff. We loved our weekend at The Marker and will return.

Review 34:My first time staying at this top class hotel with quality amenities and very high standard furnishings and fittings. Food wise I only had a snack and then breakfast at the hotel which was very good! Sadly the weather was awful so I couldn't try out the roof top terrace!

Review 35:Air conditioned bedrooms - we like fresh air! Breakfast coffee very poor Ambience in brasserie non existent!

Review 36:The staff were absolutely excellent. Dinner was delicious.

Review 37:Very friendly and obliging staff that can't do enough for you. Quality and cleanliness of rooms is outstanding. Excellent location for walking into town. Great views from rooftop bar. Relaxing atmosphere in the spa area.

Review 38:We couldn't find one fault!!!!

Review 39:This hotel is truly amazing, we absolutely loved our stay here, the staff are very polite and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. We would highly recommend it to anyone.

Review 40:room was NOT ready on time room was NOT impressive for the price Window view partially blocked to one side, not impressed Sneaky hidden charges if not careful enough to look for hidden price leaflet, and HONESTY check out policy? hidden again in side of press instead of on direct view before u see the packet of crisps and bar of chocolate which they want over 3 euros for ? no breakfast included for 419 euro priced room?

Review 41:No electric sockets next to the beds

Review 42:great service comfortable room, Nice view from the roof top terrace Very delicious food at the brasserie...just 33€ for a 3 course menu.

Review 43:Room service went beyond expectations, surprising us with rose petals etc making the room romantic for my honeymoon on coming back from dinner ! Breakfast service excellent! View from room 318 excellent! Best hotel in Dublin by far!

Review 44:The air conditioning vent was placed directly above the bed so it was either very cold or quite hot. I struggled to find a comfy setting (minor problem though)

Review 45:The service was what elevated my overall experience. Everyone (EVERYONE!) treated us well and as a person of colour that can be lacking at times. At the Marker every guest is made to feel appreciated. I was blown away. The room was well furnished and comfortable and in a great location. Lovely little touches also made the stay memorable.

Review 46:Nothing

Review 47:We had a fantastic stay at The Marker recently. Loved everything about it especially the roof top bar! All of the staff can't do enough for you. Will definitely be back

Review 48:Rooms were a little funky and interior hallways were very cold looking - black color was not inviting or warm. Temperature in common areas was quite warm and air a little stuffy.

Review 49:Staff Service was impeccable

Review 50:No drawers in the room.

Review 51:Everything, from the very friendly staff to the fabulous spa. But especially the bed- the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

Review 52:Quite costly in areas but well worth it

Review 53:Fantastic service. Enthusiastic staff. Immaculately clean. Valet service - little touches. Good food. Great cocktails. Amazing pool and facilities.

Review 54:The Marker is one of the best hotels we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The staff were outstanding, I've never had a welcome like it. You are treated almost like royalty the second you walk through their doors. The hotel's cleanliness was to the highest standard and the food was amazing too. The cocktails are also a must try!

Review 55:Breakfast was an expensive and unimpressive affair. Best to skip it and walk to the nearby herbstreet for more, cheaper, better food. As noted, the restaurant was closed, which was a disappointment. Some odd little things about the room, like nowhere good to hang the towel when showering.

Review 56:The staff were pretty fabulous. The view from 5th floor is excellent, and the room was really spacious. Dinner was really enjoyable, although the restaurant was closed so we had to eat in the rather noisy bar.

Review 57:Nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Review 58:The staff were very friendly and efficient nothing was too much bother for them. Very attentive we felt like royalty. The rooms and facilities were first class the hotel decor was superb everything was immaculate.

Review 59:The food and cocktails were amazing. The staff were very help, courteous and professional at all times. The decor was tasteful and the facilities fantastic. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Review 60:The cocktails were awful. That was the only thing I didn't enjoy and the fact that the rooftop bar closes at 11pm on a Saturday night.

Review 61:Everything, it was definitely worthy of its 5 star rating.

Review 62:Price should include breakfast. Rooftop bar closed at 9pm...slightly early!

Review 63:Hotel was clean, modern and luxurious. Loved the hotel pool and rooftop bar

Review 64:nothing

Review 65:Quality is fantastic staff are polite and attentive without being too much . Elena at breakfast was there with my green tea and remembered us from the previous stay x A fabulous 5 star /6star hotel x

Review 66:No bad experience.

Review 67:Room- very comfortable. Spa - had treatment, great. I will go back. Breakfast menu varied and fab. elderflower yogurt 10/10. Breakfast maybe little expensive but worth it. Staff in all departments excellent.

Review 68:My daughter loved the swimming pool. The rooftop bar was lovely and the cocktails were delicious. We recieved a free upgrade on our room and the bed was very comfy. This was an amazing hotel and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We ate in all of the restaurants and were very satisfied with the food & service in all of them. The breakfast was incredible! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 69:A bit pricy or some drinks but as the quality is remarkable well I am kind of undecided to answer

Review 70:The staff, I received really great insight of what Dblin can offer in terms of Restaurants, Bars and Places to visit.

Review 71:I found the lobby area very cold and there was absolutely no atmosphere. I was so disappointed we didn't get to sit in the rooftop bar.

Review 72:The bed was very comfortable.

Review 73:Breakfast dry not worth the money. Go out side plenty of cafes to get breakfast a lot cheaper. Remember that if there is a show on book a table for evening meal. Even the bar was packed.

Review 74:What a beautiful hotel Staff were lovely Everything but breakfast perfect. We had two evening meals in the bar lovely food.

Review 75:Having to leave!!

Review 76:This is definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Attention to details was amazing. Beautiful rooms. Staff were very friendly and always wanting to serve. Manager Gary R was particularily kind and helpful. Excellent hotel!!

Review 77:Hotel was perfect in every way as it says on the package. Staff, spa and wellness rooms, bedrooms, cleaniness and the Roof top bar was quite an experince looking over parts of dublin. The views from our bedroom at night was quite amazing looking over the Canal

Review 78:The staff were brilliant with my partner and I as this was our first experience of staying at 5* Hotel for our trip to dublin to see Ed Sheeran at Croke Park. We walked to and from the city centre and croke park from our hotel, 15-20mins walking distance to both. As we love sight seeing the walk was great experience especially viewing the amazing architectural buildings light up at night.

Review 79:Couldn't fault the hotel in any way!

Review 80:The hotel was lovely from the moment we stepped out of the car, staff were straight on hand couldn't of asked for a better welcome or support throughout our stay. Our room was really nice, the bed was extremely comfortable.. Worth every penny we booked again for another break away high recommend!

Review 81:The staff were extremely helpful and attended to your every need. The food was excellent and the hotel was immaculate. Would definitely stay here again!

Review 82:Coming from a hospitality background It was easy to spot the caring staff and the non-caring staff - the Breakfast Manager on the morning I was there was a non-caring staff member. Made it blatantly obvious that we weren't welcome so late down to breakfast. I can understand that lunch needs to be set up but if you have guests paying the full price for breakfast you certainly don't want to feel like you are being shoved straight back out again.

Review 83:Service from majority of staff was wonderful.

Review 84:Parking is either 30 euro per night or 26 euro to have the concierge park for you in the same carpark - saving appreciated but it's still too expensive and would rather park my own car and get the saving! There is also nothing stylistically remarkable considering it is a 5 star hotel.

Review 85:The hotel does everything right. The menus have healthy options. The pool is good. Plenty of dining options.

Review 86:Some of the front of house staff were unable to communicate with me, it is expected that all front of staff house should have good spoken command of English

Review 87:Great location

Review 88:Breakfast cost an arm and a leg. 20+ euro for a continental breakfast

Review 89:The location was actually just right, a bit of a walk out of the city but it was nice to be away from the crowds.

Review 90:Hotel catering doesn't match the rest of the hotel. You should eat out, there is a lot of choice in the locality.

Review 91:Quality of Service Modern, well positioned facility

Review 92:This is a very nice hotel, with very comfortable rooms (delicious bed!), friendly staff, nice breakfast, good food in the Brasserie, and a superb view from the Rooftop Bar. Use Dublinbikes to get around town!

Review 93:Helpful and courteous staff. Fabulous hotel all round, with a stunning rooftop bar. Had a wonderful 3 night stay and would not hesitate to book again or to recommend.

Review 94:Breakfast was not very special. Reception staff quite young. Average service in hotellounge and restaurant due to overcapacity in this areas with nice weather.

Review 95:Spacious and very clean room. Amazing bathroom. Great quiet spa with kind staff.

Review 96:Felt for such a wonderful location and hotel + staff that the dinner I had in the restaurant was disappointing. Had the cod and vegetables which was completely without any flavour. Sorry food was not top rate.

Review 97:Staff were excellent and very friendly and made the stay very enjoyable.

Review 98:Access to the hotel was a difficult navigation exercise to the uninitiated. However to be fair once you had done it Four or five times you soon picked the route. I thought the car parking fee to be exorbitant

Review 99:The meals are fantastic as is the level of service provided by the staff. Security was also a key element in our consideration and this was met perfectly with the card system of entry to the accommodation

Review 100:Trying to use the card for the lift to our room. The card was very temperamental at the best of times but this was my only complaint!!

Review 101:Staff we're very friendly and couldn't do enough for us!! I was staying with my mother and going to a show when the very friendly receptionist upgraded our room to a suite) it made the weekend even better!!

Review 102:Large room, very clean, and updated. Comfortable mattress and good linens on the bed. Very QUIET. loved that. Nice 10 minute walk to Trinity College. Would stay again.

Review 103:Breakfast not included in room price and very expensive to pay for as an extra so had breakfast elsewhere.

Review 104:the most comfy beds ever. The huge bathroom with underfloor heating, air condotioning, lovely view. spotless.

Review 105:Service very poor - had to wait two hours for our room and while waiting could not even have something to eat in the bar as empty tables were all reserved!!

Review 106:Beautiful hotel. Excellent staff. Upgraded to a corner suite. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful cocktails in the rooftop bar. Expensive but so worth it, you get what you pay for.

Review 107:That we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the experience of staying here.

Review 108:We were attending a show at the theatre which was right next door to the hotel .The staff were efficient , the view from our extremely quiet and comfortable room was wonderful.

Review 109:The charge for the car parking is a slight sting in the tail when you consider the cost of your stay.

Review 110:The spa and pool is a great feature for a city centre hotel.

Review 111:Pillows could be softer. Shower a little on the claustrophobic side. Staff is excellent but could improve their links with the ticketing office of the theatre which is just opposite the hotel a little more.

Review 112:Very central, very modern hotel and rooms, very nice spa, very nice roof top terrace with very nice cocktails, very cronut!

Review 113:The room was large and spacious with a seperate bath and shower, the only facilities within the room were more than adequate. The bed was extreamly comfortable and large. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Review 114:Very very minor gripe, but some more clothes storage would be useful in the rooms.

Review 115:The staff were amazingly helpful. The rooftop bar is beautiful (and even better on a sunny day I'm sure). And the spa was simply fantastic.

Review 116:The only thing that I was slightly unhappy about was the fact that they allow children into the spa area. I could understand kids being allowed if it's a general hotel swimming pool but it's supposed to be an area of peace and serenity of which there was none when we visited due to 3 kids pretty much running riot. I overheard another couple mention that they could have had this if they stayed at home so it wasn't just myself and my wife who thought this. Unfortunate as it slightly let, what was otherwise a perfect stay, things down.

Review 117:This place is beautiful. Breathtaking design, wonderful staff and the rooms are gorgeous. Makes for a perfect break away when you have something special to share it with.

Review 118:All good

Review 119:Hotel staff n facilities all great. Valet parking was handy, pool gorgeous n rooms luxurious, bathroom huge - bath and separate shower. Rooftop bar nice treat at end of day. Plenty great brunch places next door

Review 120:Breakfast excellent but a bit pricey for me, could be lowered in my view & still deliver. I would add thou that it was excellent thou.

Review 121:Great stay overall, frequent travellers of 5 star hotels & found this to be decent, clean and value for money. Overall very good.

Review 122:The infinity pool, my partner banged his head on the side, very dimly lit, staff again amazing and saw to his every need.. Again could not fault them..however, again the pool area should be more strongly lit as so hazardous..

Review 123:The staff amazing, never known such friendly, warm staff, at every point that we had contact!

Review 124:I loved everything from start to finish, the rooftop terrace was the highlight as the whether was warm and sunny. We had cocktails up there before heading for dinner, loved that when the sun went down they gaclve you big thick blanketsbto wrap up with. Pure luxury

Review 125:Phone wasnt working couldnt call reception for room service. My husband went down to reception and ordered. They still charged to bring room service up. Food very over price. Had to book to go up to the rooftop bar??

Review 126:Great location didnt have far to walk to the 3 arena. Peter on reception very welcoming and friendly.

Review 127:No complaints from me.. Keep up the good work

Review 128:Stayed many times always a very friendly atmosphere very professional and great staff.. Pool and spa is a must
