Reviews for Kría Guesthouse

Review 1:Our flight was delayed over 24 hours which meant that we did not arrive until 3am. This was not a problem and the owner very kindly offered to stay up for us but upon our insistence we let ourselves in. Beautiful setting, very clean and comfortable. Wish we had more time to enjoy the view and facilities.

Review 2:we get the triple room with one single bed and queen bed. the room with queen bed a little bit small. not really comfy. but the bed is comfy.

Review 3:i love the outdoor jacuzzi and the host provide great breakfast. the host very helpful. she gave us map and direction around the borgarnes city.

Review 4:Our stay at Kria was simply wonderful. The place felt like a luxury after 12 days of travel and we enjoyed every minute staying there. At night, try out the hot tub!

Review 5:Nice breakfast and comfortable room and shower! But boy, the view from the hot tub was fantastic! Amazing view! I watched the sun go down and the northern lights from an incredible hot tub at the end of the Bay.

Review 6:Excellent location with beautiful night light against the mountain, sitting in the hot tub looking at night landscape was quite a life experience. Spacious & Well equipped unit for three of us. Super clean & nicely decorated! Probably the best guesthouse we stay during our Ring Road 1 trip in Iceland .

Review 7:great location between reykjavik and snaefellsness. Very friendly, delicious breakfast, large rooms, big kitchen and bathroom. Best view from the hot tub!

Review 8:I didn't like that breakfast was "left in the fridge" which means you have to set it up, make coffee, and clean up yourself. In a B&B atmosphere, I am used to a little more contact and warmth from the host. This is on the ground floor area of a house with two bedrooms, one bath, and a common area and kitchenette between the bedrooms. The rooms carry sound and so you can hear the other people in the bedroom and bathroom easily.

Review 9:The location on the beach with the view of the town, mountains, and water is beautiful. The home is nicely decorated. It is easy to get to town from this location.

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Room very clean and bright, warm and cozy. Our room with big window & very nice sea view. I think better than the other room with very small window and no view. Landlord very friendly. Kitchen fully equipped. Love the outdoor hot tub with full sea view.

Review 12:Simply the nicest guesthouse during our 13 day Iceland tour. Terrific waterfront location, beautiful garden, attractive and comfortable rooms, great hosts, very nice breakfast. And moderately priced. Can't recommend more highly.

Review 13:We stayed at Guesthouse Kria for our first night in Iceland, after very early arrival and skipping the night on the plane. We were very tired, and Guesthouse Kria was such a relief. The weather was not very nice that day, and being able to use the hot tub and have a view was such a treat! The breakfast was very good and we got useful recommendations from the owner on restaurants to go and the area nearby. Highly recommend.

Review 14:Breakfast was put in the shared fridge the night before and was to be shared with the other guests. We were responsible for cleaning the dishes after we used them. It's not conducive for a quick breakfast.

Review 15:Nice room with a view of the water. The hot tub outside was a great feature. They have 2 rooms and 1.5 bathrooms. This is probably a better option if you are staying for more than 1 night. The location is a quick drive away from the small town and museums.

Review 16:We went during off peak season and had the entire main floor to ourselves. The guesthouse is very well equipped. Our triple room was spacious and very comfortable for 3 people. great shower facilities after a long journey.

Review 17:Shared facilities but not a problem for us as the other couple were polite and friendly.

Review 18:Star gazing from the hot tub, cozy bathrobes and a simple but tasty breakfast.

Review 19:Excellent view, convenient location. Everything is clean and practical. The view from the jacuzzi is just stunning, even got to see some northern lights! Highly recommended

Review 20:Main attractions are not in a walking distance, thus one requires a car.

Review 21:It has a nice view to the town and we enjoyed the offered Jacuzzi. We were very lucky and able to see the northern lights while sitting in the hot pool.

Review 22:The host (a lady) was especially nice! She recommended many attractions and restaurants for us to try/visit and even helped to check the road condition as well as the weather before we left and continued with our journey. The room was very well-decorated. At first we were a little concerned about sharing a bathroom but turned out it was really huge and clean.

Review 23:Margret was very accommodating. We needed to adjust our time of staying and we were lucky enough for this not to be a problem. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves . The hot tum with the view across the bay waqs fabulous as was the breakfast. Many thanks, Margret

Review 24:There is no television

Review 25:This location is perfect if your family or group can stay at both of the rooms so that the entire guesthouse is yours. It is right on the water, huge bathroom with robes, patio and hot tub outside, full kitchen and great decor in sitting area with games and books and blankets. Only recommend one night here due to the location but loved our stay here. Also! For breakfast the hostess brings you eggs from her own chickens.

Review 26:We were instantly made to feel at home and the care takers went above and beyond - even driving me out to see some ponies when I expressed an interest. Best stay we had in Iceland.

Review 27:-Even though Borgarnes is a fairly small town, the guesthouse is located a short drive away from the old center. Would've preferred to have been within walking distance but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Review 28:-Breakfast is plentiful. -The shared bathroom is huge and guests are provided with towels and robes. -Hot tub. -Was able to see the Aurora Borealis right from the backyard of the guesthouse!

Review 29:No dishwasher, so you need to wash the dishes by yourself

Review 30:There are basically two rooms with a view on the bay and a common area with small kithen and living room, very cozy. Great views Jaccuzi just next to the sea Good breakfast

Review 31:The guesthouse is in a very good and quiet place. My room was excellent and offered me a hotspot. Very big, beautifully decorated, very clean and the view through the very big windows to the sea and Borganes was superb. The shared, for only two rooms, bathroom was huge and luxurious. The shared kitchen had all the facilities.

Review 32:The only downside (and I don't think this was the fault of the accommodation) was that there was a strong urine smell in the shared shower room that we could smell the moment we arrived. We had to give it two good rinses before the smell start to go away. I think the guests who arrived before us must've used the shower as a toilet earlier on. Not nice. Like I said, I don't think this was the fault of the guesthouse operator.

Review 33:The owner was very understanding about our very late arrival which we appreciated. The accommodation was clean and very quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location offered beautiful views over the ocean. Breakfast was generous and fresh. Parking was easy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this guesthouse.

Review 34:I couldn't recommend this place more highly. The owner went out her way to make us feel at home. She upgraded us to a cottage overlooking the bay and even brought us breakfast every day! I would recommend the cottage, which is reasonably priced. Wonderful views of mountains and bird-filled river/bay. I just left and want to go back already.

Review 35:All what you need for a short or longer stay: well equipped kitchen, room and bathroom. Very good breakfast included. Friendly owner. Tasteful decoration.

Review 36:Small, quiet, very comfortable guesthouse overlooking the fjord at Borgarnes. Large shared bathroom, impeccably clean room with big windows and great view over the sea, very good breakfast. Nice hot tub, too, on the deck, with sea view while relaxing in the tub. And, lots of seabirds to watch from the deck. Great place to stop for a night going north or south on the ring road.

Review 37:Only point I would mention is it would have been good to have milk in fridge on arrival to make a drink, especially as supermarkets shut quite early.

Review 38:Right on waterfront with a fantastic view.We didnt get chance to use hot tub,but it had wonderful view. Our double room had large picture window with lovely view. Shared large bathroom and extra toilet were clean and it wasnt problem to share. Excellent spread of bread, cheeses, eggs. yoghurt left in fridge overnight for you to help yourself in morning.

Review 39:Hot-tub, marvellous ocean view, friendly hosts, good breakfast, you definitely get your money's worth.

Review 40:Excellent stay at Kria Guesthouse. Clean, awesome hot tub, and great breakfast! Can't ask for more.

Review 41:Poor soundproof.

Review 42:Outside bathtub is good. Cleaning(both of room and kitchen)

Review 43:nice apartment, though shared with another room. hot tub. nice view from the room. free wifi.

Review 44:Lovely location right on water's edge. Spotlessly clean rooms with nice little shared lounge and bathroom. Breakfast was full of variety.

Review 45:Hot Tub, Breakfast, Friendly Staff

Review 54:Friday afternoon was the worst time to take the road from Reykjavik

Review 55:The reception by the owner/manager, the pleasant surroundings, the hot tub.

Review 56:you need to do your own dishes. it's not so bad, but this is not the case at other guesthouses.

Review 57:Hot tub! View! Privacy! Quiet!

Review 58:Beautiful view

Review 59:nothing

Review 60:Located at the end of a residential street overlooking the sea. Option to use an outdoor hot tub

Review 61:Fabulous accomodations, breakfast was awesome and the view was spectacular!

Review 62:großes Zimmer mit 2 großen Betten, Küche zur Selbstverpflegung, Hotpot direkt am Meer, geschmackvolle Einrichtung und nette Vermieterin

Review 63:Nice big hottub with a great view. Big room with with the same great view. Good breakfast, very kind owner.

Review 64:The view from the room of the guesthouse was amazing! Right on the water, with a hot tub in the backyard. Extremely clean house.

Review 65:It's incredible to lay in warm Jacuzzi with mountains view! Great place, friendly staff, tasty breakfast. Totally suggest!

Review 72:Beautiful room, wonderful view (especially from the hot tub!)

Review 73:Looks can be deceiving - as you drive up to it you'd never guess that it's as beautiful as it is.

Review 74:Location, views, hot tub, gardens, birds.

Review 75:There was nothing we did not like.

Review 76:The location is wonderful -- right on the water w/ a great view of Borgarnes. The layout of the rooms was perfect for us -- 3 bedrooms, divided into 2 apartments w/ the shared kitchen and bath area. Loved the hot pot on the porch.

Review 77:Absolutely loved the view of the bay. I don't know what room number it was, but request the room with the big windows facing the bay. The breakfast was good, typical hearty B & B food and an ample supply. I would recommend the Kria Guesthouse.

Review 78:nice room, cool patio, a really beautifull view and a hot tub... ho, and a giant bathroom. i'll probably go there again next time i'll be in iceland !

Review 79:What's not to like? A friendly hostess, comfortable apartment, a hot tub with a view and a feast for breakfast. We loved how well appointed, well situated and easy this was - we'll definitely go back. Great for B&B or self catering.

Review 80:The sharing of one toilet and shower for six people. Other guests a bit inconsiderate to sit in the hot tub for hours, leaving very little time for us. Should be told when arriving to confer with other guests how to share the time before plunging in. One doesn't want to go out and tell the happy seals to get packing, as this might lead to sour faces for the rest of the stay.

Review 81:The view and location excellent.

Review 82:We liked everything about this place, the location, the hot tub and the size of the bathroom, easy ground floor access, no stairs. The attention to detail was great.

Review 83:Excellent accommodations! Best on our trip. Artsy feel to the common area. Hot tub a big plus. Great location. Will stay again when we travel to Iceland one summer soon.

Review 84:Everything - Best guesthouse during our Iceland trip with large seaview room, well-equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and - last but not least - a hot tub with sea and mountain view. Very good breakfast. Unbeatable price. To sum up: Simply perfect :-).

Review 85:The guesthouse was in a fantastic location overlooking the sea. The facilities are excellent with a hot tub on the water's edge. It is very comfortable, light and warm, with an excellent breakfast and kind and helpful owners.

Review 86:Shared bathroom (only two rooms so can be just for you if other room empty, otherwise a bit too hostely) Same with breakfast its left in refridgerator for everyone, so you dont know how much food you need to leave for those staying in the other room.

Review 87:Quiet location at end of street. Hot tub overlooking lake, very cool. In area dark enough to see aurora, but you need to leave the town for proper look. Friendly owner, ok breakfast. Comfortable enough but small room.

Review 88:Nothing, it was perfect.

Review 89:Lovely place, the best we had! Very warm and cosy place. Nice welcome and breakfast. Clean, private bathroom, good price and last but not least : a hot tub! In addition, there is a nice view on the town. We even were lucky enough to see nothern lights there!
