Reviews for Hotel C'era Una Volta

Review 1:hard beds

Review 2:The hotel is located a couple of blocks from the beach (Our room had a side sea view) and about 5-10 minutes walk from the town with a good selection of shops and bars. We were lucky enough to park in the street in front of the hotel but I believe that there is a private carpark a short walk away. The hotel was an roof terrace where you will eat breakfast (small section is covered for cooler days), also a hot tub. Other than your room and outside terrace there really isn't anywhere to sit. The reception area is small and not really set up to sit in. The bedrooms are pretty modern and very clean Our room was 104). I did find the bed very hard, way too hard in fact for a comfortable nights sleep. The tv in the room had no english speaking channels which was a shame, especially when we had one day of heavy rain. It was like there was no where to go (mostly everything in the town was closed) and the hotel didn't really have an inside are to relax. The bathoom was well appointed and I love the L'occitane products. Only negative was that there was no wash clothes or floor mats, so coming out of the shower straight onto a tile floor was a little tricky. All the staff were so friendly, actually they really made our stay. So much so that we did extend our stay an extra night. We totally loved this resort. The combination between the old walled city and the beach was amazing. The hotel is totally unstaffed after 7:30pm in the evening so entry is by a keycode. We had a great stay here, it wasn't perfect but it was pretty close :-)

Review 3:The only thing we didn't like is that we didn't stay long enough!

Review 4:Brilliant hotel, brilliant staff (Chiara et al), brilliant location, brilliant town. The highlight of four weeks in Italy and Spain. A boutique hotel with excellent amenities, thoughtful small touches and well designed and appointed rooms. Brilliant breakfast and restaurant recommendations too!

Review 5:Everything was great! Staff very helpful and friendly. Location is perfect: one minute walking to the beach and 5-10 minutes to the center with lots of restaurantes, some of which are located on very romantic streets inside the old castle. Room was nice and clean, big bathroom with L'Occitane products. View from the room - old castle. Nice terrace with the seaview on one side and castle view on another. Great place to enjoy a sunset with a glass of vine.

Review 6:the shower was a bit confusing at first but quite fun once we worked out how to use it

Review 7:NIce simple hotel but has everything you need for a comfortable stay The hostess was very friendly and helpful the breakfast was good Very close to the beach We had some lovely dinners in restaurants recommended by the hotel

Review 8:Nothing to criticise.

Review 9:Newly refurbished hotel in quiet location near to beach and town. Very well equipped room with good WiFi. Coffee maker in room a nice touch.

Review 10:Shame the hot tub on the terrace was broken!

Review 11:Location is amazing close to the beach and town. Staff can't do enough for you! Hotel is 5 star quality!

Review 12:The room had a fragrance diffuser. The scent was nice , but too strong. Would be better without this. (I hid it in the closet to stop the fragrance !).

Review 13:There is nothing to dislike in this hotel.

Review 14:This intimate hotel has the right location close to the beach and the city centre and the rooms are modern, well equipped and well kept. Everything is clean and proper and there is a nice scent as soon as you enter the reception area. The best is though the service and care you get from Chiara who runs this hotel. She welcomes you warmly every time you enter the doors. The roof terrace where Soia serves you breakfast with a smile is also very nice!

Review 15:You have to park your car a good ten minute walk away.

Review 16:Easy to find, and short walk from the beach and town. Quite area with no traffic noise. Good size room with good aircon and nice bathroom.

Review 17:Absolutely nothing to complain about for an 8 days stay!

Review 18:The host really tries to make it a pleasant stay. Very friendly, very clever. Perfect location, close to town and the beach. Quiet, clean, modern and welcoming! Nice breakfast on the roof terrace. Good parking. Much more like 4-5 stars than 2! Go there! One of the best!

Review 19:We traveled with our 30 year old son and wife and 1 yr old. Perfect location to beach and old town. Chiara was wonderful and made great suggestions for restaurants. Lovely family beach area!!

Review 20:Some more leaflets and information on local events and places to see would be helpful.

Review 21:Roof terrace with a great view from the jacuzzi. Lovely rooms and hi-tech shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location close to beach yet not noisy at night. Fast WiFi

Review 22:Comfortable and easy walk to town center

Review 23:New, clean, quiet and close to everything!

Review 24:Nothing. But it's not a cheap one, nearby could be stayed at a lower rate ...

Review 25:Staff, breakfast, Location, Room, hints & tips, ....

Review 26:the availability of staff is the maximum you can expect. The service is perfect.

Review 27:Great location. Very close to the Beach and local amenities. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Review 31:åerfekt läge,rent och snyggt, trevlig personal, bra frukost

Review 33:Super New And clean ...

Review 34:The hallways are a little noisy at times

Review 35:Beautiful hotel close to the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 36:Nothing really..

Review 37:Great place, the family room was amazing. Near where you need to be, kids loved it. Great continental breakfast which, and any kind of breakfast is hard to find in Italian hotels, it was also on the roof with castle behind and sea infront.

Review 38:Only small negative was shower a little tiny but we are fairly tall and hefty people.

Review 39:Chiara was a fantastic manager and organised restaurants for us at a busy time of the Easter period as well as transport to/from grosseto. Highly recommend this hotel and breakfast also a delight on terrace overlooking sea and village.

Review 40:nothing

Review 41:Everything! Amazing hotel with the nicest, most helpful staff. Clean, ideally situated, new and finished to a high standard. Cannot recommend enough. Free parking and the jakuzzi were also a plus.

Review 42:The whole experience, starting with Chiara at the reception desk. She was absolutely wonderful, helpful, always asking about our well-being. The hotel location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach. The room was better than we even anticipated....new, clean, large, with everything you need and more, such as a coffee machine and mini-bar. Breakfast on the terrace was perfect too ! Wonderful view and staff. For having stayed in 4 star hotels in Italy, this one certainly would deserve at least a 4 star (much better than some we stayed at !!!). Hoping to come back some day to this wonderful little hotel and most charming town.

Review 43:In the weekends its very very crowded in the town and on the beach. There are lines for restaurants Rooms are a bit small but comfortable. The shower however is a bit too small (you bumb into everything and there is no space to store soap or something else We would recommend this for couples who really like the beach and plan to stay here most of the time. If you like the countryside we would recommend something else.

Review 44:The room was clean, had airco and modern. The staff is very friendly, prepared to offer assistense and even the cleaners tried to help when you asked something despite the fact they didnt speak english. Location is great if you like the beach. Short walk to the beach, centre of town and restaurants. Great balcony with a lot of room. Despite the fact it is located in the centre there is no noise in the room Of course the jaccuzi on the roof is perfect (little tip: they could clean it more often, now sometimes a lot of sand visible.

Review 45:The room was exquisite... at first we thought we'd prefer a more "traditional" hotel, but this was truly a beautiful room with space for the whole family, sleek and energy efficient design, and it made me realize that "modern" was actually a wonderful thing! Super friendly staff, including for a hearty breakfast buffet.., my kids actually wanted to hang out in the room as much as they wanted to go to the beach!

Review 46:No parking onsite but just a short way from the hotel.

Review 47:Staff was very helpful and friendly, I would definently recommend the hotel to anyone.

Review 48:Nothing
