Reviews for Woodstone Cottages

Review 1:Making our own beds as linen was left at the front door??! Staff assures they were coming back after we phoned but never did.

Review 2:Location and house was great.

Review 3:Too expensive especially when one has to stay a few days - and lack of linen - have to pay for linen which is quite expensive

Review 4:The beautifu environment, secluded and quiet and still close to the ameneties - shops etc...

Review 5:Having to bring own linen is very disappointing. This place would be great for overseas people to come see the kangaroos, but they won't have their own linen! Some upkeep would be good, there is a garden growing in the gutters.

Review 6:The view and location are fantastic. We had problems with the water, but the owner was on to it immediately.

Review 7:Bad treatment from owner when we had no water and derision because we rang the after hours number and having to bucket water from a lake to flush toilet

Review 8:The setting

Review 9:The water pressure in the shower was a bit low

Review 10:Beautiful cottage great location and the bed was so comfortable! Firewood provided was a lovely touch. We didn't want to leave

Review 11:Best things: beautiful grounds that are great for kids to roam and explore; gorgeous wildlife, lovely accommodation that fitted our needs well and met our expectations. Just fabulous.

Review 12:A laundry would have been great for a longer stay.

Review 13:About 20 kangaroos live in the close vicinity of the houses. This would be great for tourists to Australia.

Review 14:poor parking, leaking shower head, handles on wood stove missing so at risk of burning your hands when adding more wood to the fire.

Review 15:lovely view from the back of the house. comfortable couches and bed. close to town but feels like you are miles away.

Review 16:The cottage is as basic as is possible to achieve with no bedside lamps, exposed wardrobe, bad mattresses, wood burning stove that doesn't warm the area, cheapest appliances, and list of rules. It felt like we had arrived at camp. The cottage design is basic but nice. The simple requirements like decent thread count sheets, lighting that can be adjusted, PowerPoint for hairdryers with an adjacent mirror, a toaster that can toast locally bought specialty breads without burning, proper heating, decent coffee and read on arrival, and a sense that someone is glad you paid $230 a night are all missing. Sadly disappointing particularly after a 3.5 hour drive to have a bed so bad we slept on the sofa the 2nd night. Alternative bed had wire springs! Needs an upgrade and more attention to simple comforts to be value die money.

Review 17:Location.

Review 18:Configuration of the second double bed as a bunk. Tap water was all discoloured and no drinking water provided. No lock on bathroom door. additional hooks for hanging towels and clothes.

Review 19:Nice location. Well furnished (except the second double bed).

Review 20:We liked the close proximity to town while being secluded in a bush setting. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean and modern and the family and dining area was spacious, well appointed and comfortable.

Review 21:Not really a great holiday facility for the elderly due to uneven grounds as in gravel that immediately surrounds cottage, loose stones and unless wearing boots or sneakers, easy to loose footing. Other issue was the 'honkey nuts' falling off the trees directly over the roof of the house,if your a light sleeper you will be awake all night.some are quite loud and make you jump out of your skin.

Review 22:Shower facility It is impossible to adjust water temp in the shower consumables only for one day Towels were not enough

Review 23:Excellent location Close to the city Quiet Reasonable facilities

Review 24:The only downsides would be the shower went hot and cold and as we had 4 people in the cottage for the weekend, they didn't provide enough toilet paper!

Review 25:Good location. It was very quiet there and is surrounded by bush. There was other people staying in the nearby cottages but we didn't hear them once. Also great wildlife surrounding the cottage. Very nice inside and really comfy beds

Review 26:Improvement is recommended regarding the barbecue facilities.

Review 27:Loved the location being tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

Review 28:Location clearness peacefulness wonderful stay

Review 29:There wasn't anything we didn't like

Review 30:Beautiful setting in the bush. Lovely cottage with a fireplace which makes it feel cosy and warm.

Review 31:Only supplied wood for 1 night, so had to go buy my own, as stayed 3 nights!

Review 32:Location Cottage

Review 33:Amazing scenery and location, perfect place to relax

Review 34:Cottages are set in a tranquil bush setting, kangaroos on the lawn, log fires, and peace and quiet, all just 4klms from Dunsborough town.

Review 35:Wanted the fire.

Review 36:Peaceful cosy retreat

Review 37:There was nothing I could fault.

Review 38:The scenery along with the peace and quiet.

Review 39:A few maintenance issues needing attention. Left the list at the cottage on departure.

Review 40:Layout of the cottage and facilities was good.

Review 41:Shower was too low, and went cold pretty quick.

Review 42:Location was great, a lot of kangaroos, ducks and cockatoos. Loved the peace And quiet.

Review 43:A little chilly even once we located some wood and the oven door didn't shut making it difficult to cook in. All in all these were minimal faults in comparison to our wonderful stay.

Review 44:Staff were helpful once reached. An email to notify us the cottage was unlocked waiting for us and there was no need to reception would have been a tad easier but, once reached, the owner could not have done a better job. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Very homely.

Review 45:The absence of a hairdryer was disappointing in a holiday let of this quality. Temperature control of water in the shower was a bit 'touchy' which was annoying but not impossible to cope with.

Review 46:Our rammed earth cottage was nestled among native bushland, one of only four, well separated from each other. Nearness to the local town site, yet seemingly a world away, was a bonus. The kitchen is very well equipped, all amenities working well, excellent leather lounge to spread out on. Linen good quality and mattress acceptable firmness. Local wildlife visiting at various times of the day helped to connect with nature. A delightful location to recharge the batteries!

Review 47:No much done to go the "extra mile". eg Provision of info on places to visit in vicinity; outdoor sitting facilities.

Review 48:Very pleasant secluded rural location. Plenty of space. Good quality kitchen.

Review 49:Oven dirty, tv almost unwatchable owing to very poor reception. Sheetsand towels very thin and worn. Never saw owner; email communicationonly, when warned no tea/coffee etc provided and to bring our owntoilet paper! Felt business being run on very tight budget. Paid overthe odds for what was provided. Would not recommend or go again.

Review 50:Peaceful location

Review 51:Feels like they are trying to spend as little money as possible. There was soap n toilet paper (which they tell you to bring) but no salt, pepper or tea and coffee provided this annoyed me a bit wish they had told us so we could have brought some instead of buy a $10 bottle of Coffee.

Review 52:The grass cottage was great for us and our six month old is was Comfortable. Location was the best part you only had 2 turns and you were in dunsbrough. Would stay again.

Review 53:Cheap matches made it difficult to light the fire and wood not very dry

Review 54:Rustic and good location near to town but still quiet and peaceful

Review 55:The up stairs shower was not working so well.

Review 56:We loved the view and the cottage. was perfect :)

Review 57:No axe to chop wood provided

Review 58:The fire place

Review 59:A beautiful quiet spot among the trees, only a short drive into town
