Reviews for Sea Cliff Resort & Spa

Review 1:Despite saying they have local and traditional food they had none ... some of us want your Ugali and Nyamachoma ... show the people what local people eat there

Review 2:Good place , good staff

Review 3:the staff did not understand English fully - communication was difficult. this should be a must for reception staff. Admin is poor. Double counting on hotel bill and fraudulent charges to account

Review 4:the resort was comfortable and clean

Review 5:Food could be a lot better, room fixtures and furnishings were dated and rusting in parts, leaky AC, no mini bar

Review 6:Beautiful location, smiling staff, sea view rooms, neat stretch of beach and golf course

Review 7:The room doesn't deserve to be rated as 5-star room ! very ordinary The food was not bad but they charge for drinks even water and soda, although it is a buffet ! On checking-out there was nobody to collect my baggage and I've waited for 30 min then I decided to pick it myself

Review 8:The hotel's facilities are brilliant

Review 9:everything about this property is great. a person just has to witness for himself to know what I mean. you will never go wrong if you book at this place this is a guarantee!!!!!!!!

Review 10:Extremely warm and pleasant staff who take care of everything that is asked for. The property is surreal with all the amenities; had a brilliant vacation there.

Review 11:Minimalist resort when it comes to accomodation and breakfast. Facility is nice.

Review 12:There are so many things to do around the facility. Food of dinner was good.

Review 13:The food was awful Our room was damp and smelly The hotel staff were unfriendly and rude

Review 14:The Hotel itself was beautiful, the surroundings were stunning.

Review 15:The food was not consistent especially dinner. Too much salt occasionally. I wish I could stay longer. :-)

Review 16:I loved the service and our room was amazing. The presentation of the room for our honeymoon was just breath-taking. The breakfast menu was great.

Review 17:Attention to detail was missing- The bed sheets and pillow cases on my first day had stains. Had to request for it to be changed. There were biscuit crumbs on the carpet close to the bed for 2 days despite the room being cleaned every day

Review 18:The sea view from my room/bed was awesome. Was wonderful waking up to such view and calm. Very comfortable bed Wide range of gym equipment Serene and beautiful environment

Review 19:Staff were very slow and misunderstood a lot (even though in low season hotel was empty). Food was disappointing - both in number of options and quality.

Review 20:Comfy, big bed. Quiet. Beautiful infinity pool, clean grounds. Lots of activities, only 20 mins from stone town.

Review 21:Without prior advice, on checking out, we were confronted by a 18% 'hotel levy', and a 5% penalty when paying by credit card. The included dinner (half board) did not impress.

Review 22:Gym facilities, breakfasts.

Review 23:Limited English of staff, wifi intermittently connected (good for phone but intermittent for laptop), weak cocktails and minimal variety.

Review 24:Awesome view, staff very friendly, kayaks, pools.

Review 25:The meals were hit or miss. On some days the lunch and dinner were very nice but more often there were only a few choices that were enjoyable. Access to the beach was limited to the movement of the tide. So, lounging on the beach was not possible.

Review 26:The view is spectacular!

Review 27:i didn't like the food especially the Lunch, it was stale. They need to change the chefs because no value for money in that area. Also the service was a bit lucking the manager was rude borderline racist and the waiters didn't attend to us as compared to the white guest. so that was disappointing.I didn't like our room (sea view rooms) preferred the garden view rooms that were bigger with better bathrooms.

Review 28:I liked the ambiance of the hotel, the swimming pools both of them were lovely, and at night the water in the pool was warm. Also like the breakfast, very rich breakfast and service at the table was also top notch.

Review 29:The road to the hotel is bumpy and off putting

Review 30:I appreciated complimentary items. The hotel is generous and made my 1st anniversary special. The staff are excellent and cheerful

Review 31:Beware of the tour guys if you get the hotel bus to stone town !!!

Review 32:It was just superb !! Spent five nights here following my nephew's wedding in Arusha. Staff, cleanliness, infinity pools, abundance of sin loungers - just unbelievable!!

Review 33:Locals can be somewhat overpowering !!!!

Review 34:The staff were just the best. They could not do enough for us. My father has walking difficulties and the resort was just so easy to get around and so clean. Will be back

Review 35:A waiter accidentally spilt the drinks he has bringing to our table then tries to sneak them into the bill so we could sign for them. Quality of services from waiters was generally poor to average

Review 36:The rooms were excellent with beautiful views

Review 37:nothing.

Review 38:This is a great place to relax for a few days and enjoy the amazingly beautiful views and pools. Beautiful and very clean rooms (with a view).

Review 39:The bathroom was tiny. The resort is far from a road which makes independent exploring difficult, especially with s baby. The hotel organised trips are a bit expensive. We also didn't likd the charge for card payment whether using credit or debit cards.

Review 40:We liked the room, the pools, the friendly staff, the quietness. Everyone was great with our daughter. Breakfast was good. The massage was great. We were upgraded to a sea view room, given a complementary massage and a private seafood dinner after we told the hotel it was our 5 year wedding anniversary.

Review 41:if you could have staff who are eloquent in english for smooth service and at the same time have entertainment/music after dinner

Review 42:I liked all the set up of the hotel, thanks for making our life comfortable during our stay

Review 43:Cleanliness of Chef's whites at live cooking stations both at breakfast and dinner was below the standard expected of a hotel of this rating.

Review 44:Excellent friendly staff. Management dealt efficiently with change of room request.

Review 45:A lot of insects on island even in hotel too. But it's not a big problem

Review 46:Nice hotel with friendly staff. Pictorial territory with calm ocean :) food....a lot of different food for each wish. We are Russian couple and it's very important for us not run into with other Russians. This place answers more than 100%. Quit and calm hotel with all u need for full relax and nirvana. Also this is a nice place for such tourists who wants to see Stone Town and all island. Hotel has his own shattle which runs to ST twice a day. Rooms are nice, cleanly and have nice view on ocean or garden. Also u can ride horses. Women who keeps them very kind and she can help u take friend with horse very fast. So, if u want to have your vacation on Zanzibar I advise you this hotel and your vacation will be hakunamatata

Review 47:On arrival my bed had not been cleaned since prior occupants. 1.5 hours later i was asked to change rooms, having already unpacked. The hotel information failed to mention that the 'private beach' was currently a construction area as they developed a golf bar/restaurant..essentially it was therefore a 'no-go' area - certainly not if comfort and peace were desired. Very far from all other areas, fine if you want to stay in the resort for your entire holidays, not so much if you want to explore a bit. Service was patchy, with some excellent and others rather unhelpful at times. Getting a taxi was a nightmare with hefty commissions included.

Review 48:Excellent pool facilities, beautiful spot by the sea with great views.

Review 49:Spa: Needs an upgrade. Professionalism of the staff. Literature and practise don't match. Materials to complete their job were unavailable. Disappointing as I chose this location because of the spa.

Review 50:Quiet Friendliness of staff Location

Review 51:Breakfast - Instant Coffee, Hot Items served cold. Dinner quality poor, Desserts ran out not replenished. Shame they charge 5% to pay by credit card on departure.

Review 52:We liked the rooms, the gardens were stunning, the infinity pools excellent, overall cleanliness excellent, staff polite and tried hard to please.

Review 53:The service was sometimes a bit too slow, but we had no other issues.

Review 54:Sea Cliff was built in the 90s, but you'd think it's brand new. It's extremely well-kept, it feels like walking in a beautiful garden! The personnel at the resort was always very polite, helpful and accommodating, the room was squeaky clean and the sea view from our room was lovely. Breakfast was very good, and the food was always organised according to a theme. It was a fantastic experience, the photos don't do the place justice!

Review 55:Unfortunately the hotel is situated on cliff as the name suggest and there is no beach near the hotel so if you are looking for a beach you need to hire a taxi and travel to Nungwi which cost around 80$.

Review 56:Everything especially staff, the ambience, the facilities, comfort.

Review 57:Food, staff, facilities and much more of activities can be done. Needs to stay for a week at minimum to enjoy all activities.

Review 58:food was delicious and staff was so kind and helpfull

Review 59:The front office staff are amazing

Review 60:The food variety and taste

Review 61:The place and facilities

Review 62:Nothing

Review 63:Everything

Review 64:Food was really bad. Street food were much better in tasting than the resort

Review 65:No bad experience.

Review 66:The staff were awesome. ..The resort was super beautiful. I will recommend Sea Cliff Resort and Spa again and again!

Review 67:Swimming pools

Review 68:rather not comment

Review 69:liked pools

Review 70:The horses here are amazing! Worth while taking advantage of while you stay in the hotel.

Review 71:The service was slow although there were many people working.

Review 72:The pool was nice.

Review 73:There is no beach in front of the hotel, just a jetty. There are not many vegetarian options in the buffet.

Review 74:No real beach Food could be a lot better

Review 75:Pool facilities Proximity to Stone Town

Review 76:Nothing to dislike!

Review 77:Great welcome and helpful staff. The rooms are excellent with really comfortable beds. Food is really good and a good variety too.

Review 78:You can not swim, because there is no seaside with sands.

Review 79:Hotel facilities, room comfort,Perdeci swimming pool and working people hospitality...

Review 80:food-too salty, rooms don't have bath tubs

Review 81:Views and close proximity to Stone Town

Review 82:Staff didn't understand western standards. Staff is not flexible.

Review 83:Facilities were good, pool was nice.

Review 84:room was dirty on arrival and was not cleaned very well everyday.

Review 85:activities that resort offers for free, and staff help

Review 86:No hot tub.

Review 87:Everything - USD8 cocktails, free shuttle to Stone Town, the food, the amazingly friendly staff, the two infinity pools, the bar on the pier, the fact that there are so many sun loungers you dont need to fight over them. And no spiders.

Review 88:Nothing! Oh, it rained a couple of times! But then, it is the rainy season!

Review 89:Pretty well everything. The pools were excellent and plenty of loungers and seating. The buffet dinners were excellent with an amazing choice and some items such as calamari cooked on demand. The food was really delicious too. we were given early check-in and late check-out rooms at no extra charge and I thought that a particularly nice touch. The staff were so friendly it just made the whole stay superb.

Review 90:The food was poor. Cereal stale, bacon always cold and food quality in general pretty average. The worst part of the trip was definitely the airport transportation. The hotel should really considering getting their own marked, professional shuttle bus service.

Review 91:Amazing pools and service, comfortable rooms

Review 92:The tide does go out quite a bit between the hours of 11 - 4pm therefore swimming in the ocean at the jetty bar is not possible during these hours. However the nice pool makes up for it.

Review 93:The themed restaurant service was exceptional different for every night. The chef was very accommodating. The pool is lovely and compliments to the masseuses for a very relaxing massage.

Review 94:Rooms need remodelling, bathroom not very appealing. Food menu needs huge improvment. No room service after 11 pm! Between lunch and dinner time, you can only order snacks or drinks at the pool/beach... Beach area is not suitable for swimming... Many sellers roam around the beach. The massage was not so great although the spa looked amazing.

Review 95:Amazing pool, the staff were very helpfull. Beautiful view. Location is only 20 mins away from Stonetown

Review 96:Staff friendly but some had a pretty poor command of English, which ledto misunderstandings and almost made us miss our return flight.Location not so great in terms of high / low tides (not manypossibilities to swim in the ocean during the day). Leisure equipmentvery poor (table games with no dice, worn out table tennis rackets, missing billiard balls).

Review 97:Very clean, good food, comfortable rooms. The no cash policy (everythingcharged to the room) is a great idea, as you don't need to carryanything in your pockets.

Review 98:Staff in the hotel was so good that they can perfectly handle with everything. The hotel and rooms were very clean. House keeping is coming to the rooms for two times a day, for cleaning and preparing the room for sleeping.Spa personal and the masage physicians were the best we have ever tried.

Review 99:Room was not cleaned when we arrived. Bedlinen, floor, bathrooms where dirty with hair all over. Musty smell in room from humidity, A/C needs cleaning. Not a 5-star, more like 3.5 or maybe 4 star. Out of the way location and local transport is overpriced, although local deals can be made. Little touches like nuts/snacks with the drinks would be a nice touch as most 5 star hotels will provide complimentary. Buffet consisted of overcooked food and rather bland uninspiring food. Fire the cook and get a cook that cares.

Review 100:We chose half board, and drinks were extra, but very reasonably priced. Beautiful views and sunset.

Review 101:No beach. Dinner not always living up to expectation.

Review 102:The professional; approach by all staff

Review 103:Love the bar on the pier. Ideal for relaxing as the son goes down. Recommend a massage at the spa.

Review 104:This is a terrific hotel! We had a perfect vacation and would be back.

Review 105:The kitchen production! Splendid breakfast was fantastic!

Review 106:The staff was very freindly and welcoming and the food was excellent. The srounding very peaceful and beach was good.
