Reviews for Kerry Coast Inn
Review 1:The staff were just so nice and helpful and friendly. It is in an ideal location, in town but not in the town. Our room was fab and the food was lovely, I really can't say enough positive things about our stay here, we will definitely come back there again!
Review 2:Stairs carpet grubby. Not a great choice for vegetarians at breakfast.
Review 3:Kept Chef behind to prepare us food at 9.45pm when they learnt we were working until after 9.30pm. Very thoughtful & above & beyond what was expected.
Review 4:Leaving
Review 5:Excellent experience. Staff welcoming helpful and friendly. Room spacious and comfortable. Good good and wine. Ideally located for Ring, Skellig Michael, Dingle and so much more.
Review 6:No one mans the desk. First night the young lady didn't explain anything (how to get in when bar's closed. Any questions i had were answered by bartenders. It should be advertised as a bar, not a hotel. They only care about bar patrons.
Review 7:The location
Review 8:The curtains were hanging off the pole there was no toilet seat was able to hear the occupants in the next room very clearly unimpressed by staff Not luxury accommodation by any stretch of the imagination.
Review 9:I couldnt wait to leave the place but had booked by credit card so didnt have much choice
Review 10:Really felt the room was very shabby and could have done with a deep clean
Review 11:Really good food in restaurant. Friendly staff. Excellent shower in en suite.
Review 12:enjoyed every aspect of my stay, friendly staff lovely room and great breakfast served till noon so was able to enjoy a lie in.Well done kerry coast inn.
Review 13:Bathroom clean.very dated loose fittings toilet seat falling off.shower spilling out over the floor
Review 14:Nice enough place good food good for a stop off if you are traveling around the ring of Kerry
Review 15:Place is spotless but in nad need of painting and the carpets on the corridor going into the bedrooms was disgusting
Review 16:Great location staff very friendly lovely little pub food excellent in bar.
Review 17:we only stayed one night, everything was good, , accommodation food etc
Review 18:well located for touring the ring of Kerry and central in the town of Cahersiveen
Review 19:Kitchen fans blowing in and around the rooms, had to wake the staff at 8.30 am to open the door for breakfast, which took far to long, cleanliness was questionable, next to the main road and noisy. the whole place needs a revamp, its for construction workers not tourists
Review 20:Nothing.
Review 21:Great guesthouse over a busy bar but no noise issues. I was lucky enough to get room no. 1 with windows ovelooking the street and a massive bed.
Review 22:Bedroom: The shower screen was broken, the curtains not properly hung and the walls were marked. The room (no 7) was opposite a rear entrance door, which started being used at 6.30 am. Breakfast: We came down to breakfast at 9am. There was no Juice or Milk set up at the cereal table. A number of items on the breakfast menu were not available e.g. Pancakes, Frank's special. I had to send back my coffee because it tasted so old, and ask for a fresh one. The breakfast service felt begrudging.
Review 23:The bedroom and bathroom were a good size. The breakfast was a good size, and tasted fine.
Review 24:shower not working no hot water - as we were only staying 2 nights not a big impact for us but we would have liked a shower!
Review 25:Staff ; bed comfort and food.
Review 26:The restaruant/bar with the hotel was a local establishment, so you could get an ideal about the people living there rather than just tourists. The bartender Geoffrey was especially eager and friendly and hard working. Great introduction to Ireland for me
Review 27:Room was basic, nothing pleasant about it. There was no tea bags or milk in the room on arrival. At 80euro for one night I feel it was overpriced. There is no proper reception area (or at least it is not open), guests have to check in at the bar. The staff just give you your room key and charge you when you are leaving, they should be more friendly and welcoming. The shower is difficult to get to the correct temperature.
Review 28:Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. This hotel is fine for a quick overnight stop off and place to eat.
Review 29:The accommodation suited us perfectly.A very relaxing atmosphere.Friendly and lovely staff.A great breakfast and spot on food generally. A really enjoyable break away from the norm and a nice pint of Guinness too !
Review 30:Only let down, no wifi in the rooms.
Review 31:Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good location, good stop over point. Breakfast was very tasty
Review 32:It is for builders, there is no dining room you eat in the bar, when I moved the chair to sit down it was stuck to the floor. The breakfast was poor, it was not set up for our type of stay. Could not wait to get out of there. I feel let down by Booking.com
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:The food was wonderful, both evening and breakfast meals were perfect. We had a little bit of confusion about our breakfast time which was sorted to satisfy all concerned. These hosts are trying very hard to keep up their great name and to satisfy their customers to which we were very greatful. Thanks guys.
Review 35:Only tiny tiny gripe,at breakfast beans mushrooms ice cold, and eggs were under cooked, on all three days we stayed there.
Review 36:Everything was spot on,,,evening meals were of a very very high standard. This hotel also employs the hardest working ,most helpful, barman.jimmy take a bow.
Review 37:Family run business. Very attentive staff. Nothing too much trouble, even an early checkout breakfast was provided. The suite was very special, better than many 5 *hotels. Great location.
Review 38:Kerry coast Inn has a traditional bar and the staff provide a warm friendly environment. The food is to die for, it is top quality and plentiful. The rooms are stylish and there were plenty of clean towels and complimentary bubbles daily. It's great value for money and an experience not to be missed...
Review 39:A bulb was out in the hallway, hadn't been changed before the evening.
Review 40:The Hotel had a lovely friendly atmosphere and the food was excelent. I had a pan fried fillet of salmon and it was Michelin star level, absolutely excellent. Even the breakfast was gourmet level. I would definitely recommend staying there.
Review 41:Bathroom was poorly furnished . Toilet seat was broken , shower screen was broken - only half remained so bathroom got soaked everytime we had a shower. Lights didn't work . No heating in bathroom . No towel rails to hang wet towels on.
Review 42:Location was good. Staff friendly .
Review 43:The room was very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. We had dinner in the pub and it was excellent, the Irish breakfast which was included was also very good. All the staff are very friendly and like to interact with the guests, especially Jimmy.
Review 44:Firstly we had to wait at least 10 mins before we could check in. We had to wait for the bar man and there was an other german couple in front of us. Check in is very poor. The double bed is very small and quite unsuitable to 2 large guests. As in other hotel rooms there are normally 2 sheets on a bed , this one had only an under sheet and then the duvet. Although there are tea making facilities in the room, there was no milk available on the 2 nights of our stay and only 2 tea bags. There was a television but only a few stations. There was no RTE and was wondering if there was no Saor View available. Underneath the beds could do with a good hoovering. There was no brochure explaining places of interest. church services or emergency situations, etc and no comment cards for guests. On the second day of our stay, toiletries were not replenished and the rubbish bin in the bathroom was not emptied. The was no rubbish bin in the bedroom. The mahogany windows and skirting boards could do with a coat of paint. Having worked in the hospitality industry myself these are just a few of the most important things that I would like to see improvement on.
Review 45:The Kerry Coast Inn is situated in a beautiful part of the country. It's more like a pub/ restaurant than a hotel. Situated in Caherciveen near Valentia Island and on The Ring of Kerry. I loved the 2 windows in the bedroom as they could be opened and left the room feeling fresh and cool. Breakfast was very good but not served till after 9 o clock. Evening meals were good also but would like the menu laid out in a different way with a few different starter options. All male staff were very friendly but we didn see any female staff working while we were there. The place was busy and seems like a local sporting pub and the local topic being football.
Review 46:I had asked on booking.com for rooms away from street noise. We got 2 rooms at front looking out on street. I do not know if this was the fault of Hotel or booking.com
Review 47:I liked the bedrooms - décor etc. Very spacious bathrooms & comfortable beds. I found staff helpful especially the owners daughter. She gave us excellent info on a trip to Valentia Island. I would definitely book it again.
Review 48:rome was sparce bare walls window wouldnt close view from window dirty no air condition cold water in shower and then it went too hot half a shower door
Review 49:food was good but only breakfast was eaten
Review 50:I would repaint the guest room halls and clean the hall carpets Because it makes you think the room will look like the halls and actually they are very nice. I would have a top sheet separate from the comforter because sometimes it is too hot with it. Our room was noisy with the pub music and the street people etc. but you can't have both quiet and the street view-
Review 51:The rooms were very clean The food was very good The location was good We enjoyed walking the town.
Review 52:Bathroom door got slightly stuck, no real issue Car park at the rear of hotel needs to be signposted better
Review 53:Fantastic place to stay in the centre of Cahersiveen Food is lovely, probably the tastiest breakfast I've had after a night out! Lovely staff made us feel very welcome and they were in no hurry to get us to leave in the morning
Review 54:Breakfast was too late a start for me. But they refunded me the money for breakfast and left cereal bread milk and tea/coffee out for me for when I got up in the morning. Staff very friendly and helpful Thanks Jim
Review 55:The signage all says "Kerry Coast Hotel" which confused us as we booked to stay at the Kerry Coast Inn. The place was rundown and quite shabby, there was visible grime on the walls of the shower and the toilet bowl.
