Reviews for The Morgan Hotel
Review 1:Location is perfect for a short weekend break as you can just walk out the front door of the hotel and everything is a short walk away. No need to worry about spending all your time and money in taxis.
Review 2:The decor was imaginative and really pleasing. Room was very comfortable and attention to ever little detail was pleasantly realised. Meal pre;theatre in bar was excellent, service very cordial and friendly. Looking forward to a return visit.
Review 3:I was staying here the night of my birthday we went down to have dinner and all the tables had reserved signs, there was also a lot of noise threw out the night.
Review 4:The staff in the bar can never do enough for us, the bartenders sure do shake up the best cocktails.
Review 5:We actually liked the location and chose this hotel because it looked fun and lively, however this a party hotel and could be disappointing if you are not looking for a party night.
Review 6:We visited Dublin for one day. We needed something central. The Morgan hotel was better than we expected. The staff were awesome. Firstly, due to a party next door they upgraded us to a lovely new room. They had great recommendations for places to eat. They also provided us with discount for the car park which is super expensive in central Dublin. The spa and gym facilities are also very impressive. All in all we would come back here again.
Review 7:Put in the lobby for late drink then had staff hoovering under your feet... :-( 18 euro carparking charge... :-(
Review 8:The rooms were great.. :-) Given toothbrushes when asked as we forgot ours... :-)
Review 9:The only thing that wasn't as it should be was the mini bar our room should have had one and it didn't but there was a vending machine in the hall that had all the mini bar had to offer.
Review 10:Staff were lovely. Location excellent. They gave me a bit of an upgrade because it was my first time and my birthday so it was very much appreciated. It's the little touches that enhance your stay.
Review 11:No free water and tap water is not cold to drink. Also Guinness in the bar is yuk. View was of a back yard. But at least it was quiet.
Review 12:Great location, great breakfast and very helpful staff.
Review 13:The only down side is the noise but then that comes with the location!
Review 14:My boyfriend and I stay here several times a year, friendly staff, excellent location and comfortable modern rooms together with excellent facilities
Review 15:A little jaded carpets on bedroom floor needed a Hoover cleaning trollies left in corridors empty boxes etc
Review 16:Great location great breakfast staff were friendly
Review 17:- There were only 2 sockets in the room. - The lights are very dim.
Review 18:- A very central, clean & comfortable contemporary hotel. - Shopping streets & pubs are within walking distance. - The breakfast is amazing. - The staff is very helpful. - Very close to River Liffey.
Review 19:For a place that, at first glance has a fair amount of aesthetic appeal, as it is modern in its style, it was very dirty and gross. The front hallway stank like smoke, the floors of the hallway were dirty, the walls were dirty and marked up. The bed sheets were dirty and had hairs all over them. We asked the front desk to order us a taxi for early in the morning to get us to the airport, and when we went down in the morning they said they'd 'forgotten to tell us' that there were no taxis (under the company they use it would seem) for at least another half hour, which wouldn't have worked for our timing getting to the airport. They basically told us to go outside and that someone else was bound to pick us up because we were 'carrying luggage'. Totally unimpressed, and disgusted by the lack of cleanliness.
Review 20:The best part of this hotel is its location in Temple Bar.
Review 21:Staff never asked if we wanted a table in the restaurant. Wrong room given. Room was poor quality then swapped to a suit and still not great. Asked for a cocktail in the cocktail bar and bar man told me he was too busy!
Review 22:The bar area was lovely
Review 23:Nothing
Review 24:Love this hotel so much, have stayed many times over the past few years. It is in the perfect location, has amazing decor so cool and funky, great food & gorgeous cocktails. The rooms are fabulous with the most comfortable beds ever. But it's the friendly and helpful staff that go out of their way to make this such a special place to stay..especially girls on reception. Cannot recommend it enough!
Review 25:I love the Morgan hotel it's very stylish and comfortable, the location is amazing and the bar is a great spot. I stayed here when I got engaged and I liked it so much I came back, the staff were lovely too.
Review 26:Even though advertised we didn't have a mini bar in our room. The leisure facilities are also in a separate building with a short walk outside.
Review 27:Very comfy bed mattress. The bar is funky and the cocktails are good. The bar staff know their drinks and are always happy to help you. A great location Graffton St a 5 minute walk away.
Review 28:Very rude barman. Asked us what time was this to be coming into the bar, when obvious the bar was still open and serving drinks. Claimed to have no lemons or limes when we asked and was rude saying it. I asked another barman and he said no problem and gave me two slices of lemon.
Review 29:Location and decor
Review 30:I was planning to mail to extend a huge thank u for accomadating an upgrade and the lady on reception the evening of the 23rd was just wonderful;so friendly, so welcoming!!!
Review 31:The mattress was too stiff, woke up with a lower backache. Found the bowing man lamp at the front of the main entrance a bit racist.
Review 32:The room was clean, the location is great. Staff were very friendly. Even though check in is only at 3 pm, the lady at the reception gave us our room at 10 am. A room that she has swapped for us from twin to queen double bed for no extra charge.
Review 33:Only problem was that we didnt have a mini fridge in our room so had to share with our friends down the hall.
Review 34:Stayed in this beautiful hotel twice now..same dates last year and will be returning next year too. Its just stunning. We had a deluxe king room, bed was HUGE!! Loved the light dimmer and the amount of space we had in the room was perfect. So clean and fresh everyday. Comfy, cosy and literally in the heart of dublin so no need to pay for taxi's or busses.
Review 35:Location was absolutely perfect. The decor was fab too, the bed comfy and there was an umbrella in the room for guest use - I've never seen that in a hotel before and with our Irish weather it was a really nice touch!
Review 36:The decor is starting to look tatty in both the public areas and the bedrooms, my shower door was broken, the towels were very rough and faded, the sink had multiple cracks and the TV kept freezing and re-starting - its time to start sending money again to take it back to its former glory
Review 37:Nice funky and quirky hotel
Review 38:Bar staff were more interested in themselves than the customers.
Review 39:Nice room at back of hotel, so it was quiet. Breakfast was comprehensive and provided for all palettes.
Review 40:It's a pity you dont do the living is easy package anymore, it was excellent value also a turn down service would be nice
Review 41:Location is perfect, decor is so trendy, staff are excellant
Review 42:The bathroom was dirty. The lampshades above the sink had a layer of dust on them. There was mold behind the sink.
Review 43:For the most part, the staff were kind and professional.
Review 44:Asked for late check out before check in there was no problem and Also check on checking and was told I could get late checkout up to the morning of checkout. Phoned around 9 am on checkout day and was told I could not have it as it was all booked out. Very disappointed. Will think twice before booking this hotel again.
Review 45:Room was big spacious and had a desk internet connection (LAN) as well as wifi, perfect for a working leisure trip, mini bar was fairly priced also. Definitely go and visit the spa gym that is connected to the hotel it is awesome. Wish I had traveled with my partner would be perfect for a couple too.
Review 46:After booking months in advance and confirming our late arrival plans twice on the arrival day(one party weren't arriving till after 10pm) When they arrived, the staff had given their room away, and wanted to transfer them to a different hotel. Only after about half an hour of debate , and realising we weren't budging did they magically find a room. Very disappointing when we'd booked 6 months in advance. Worth checking in over the phone if you are arriving late to avoid disappointment!
Review 47:Ideal location for shops and bars.
Review 48:Service not too good waited till 5pm on first day for room to be made up And had to call to advise reception Waited 15 minutes one. Morning while they re filled hot breakfast items bought them. Out one at a time. On Sunday our keys were disabled even though we were staying till monday
Review 49:The style of decor
Review 50:Male receptionist very unhelpful and unfriendly to us and another group who had returned to the hotel late
Review 51:Ramute who checked us in was excellent and very helpful
Review 52:I parked in the multi story over the road and handed Maynard to reception for the discounted price. However when I arrived the car park he stated that voucher was for night only and as had been there two nights I needed to pay an additional18'?? Euro not happy
Review 53:I like the relaxed feeling
Review 54:The door staff refused us entry even though I showed him my room key , after about 15 minutes another doorman tried to send us down the street.
Review 55:The bedroom was very well laid out
Review 56:Nothing, or if i must say something it maybe the door of the Penthouse doesn't look safe..
Review 57:The Junior Penthouse is awesome, the situation, and the services with the deep lounge bar, ...
Review 58:The only thing I'd struggled with was a steady shower and room temperature. The shower would not sustain the same temperature. Also the room was very hot and I had to open the window to have the airflow going.
Review 59:The staff was very nice and helpful. Location was vas handy and the room was cosy.
Review 60:Great location, large comfortable bed, good proportioned room, friendly and helpful staff, not to mention great cocktails in the bar and a delicious breakfast.
Review 61:Chaotic check in & check out due to compact foyer. Residents are second class in the bar at the weekend!!!!! Poor lighting throughout corridors.
Review 62:Location Very modern
Review 63:minor points: TV remote cover was broken, so batteries kept falling out. Slippers would be a nice touch.
Review 64:Staff were helpful and courteous and all transactions were simple and (relatively) painless. The area was great for restaurants and use of the gym is a great bonus, though we didn't get round to making use of the facilities, as we were generally quite keen on sleeping in after the hectic night before. All necessary equipment and toiletries were in the room, including iron and board, safe, ear plugs etc etc.
Review 65:I found Dublin really expensive we were only here 2 days and spent a fortune.
Review 66:Hotel was lovely and staff really friendly. We had a king deluxe room was lovely too. Great location next to loads of bars and restraunts and near the shopping area. Niteclub is great downstairs too :)
Review 67:Bit disappointing that the spa is not in the hotel and instead in a separate building around the corner
Review 68:Friendly and helpful reception staff that went out of there way to accomodate us and make sure we had everything we needed
Review 69:The hotel bar gets a bit noisy at the week-end so avoid the rooms the lower floor
Review 70:Ideally located at the heart of temple bar, walking distance from a wealth of pubs, restaurants and clubs. Rooms are spacious and decorated with taste. The deluxe King room is a blast :)
Review 71:We booked a delux room which we normally stay in with a fine shower and bathroom . We were upgraded to suite which had a am bath with shower in it . The bed room was very small also .
Review 72:Hospitlity bad wen you asked for something very slow to reacked. No chardnay white wine. Never asked ik we enjoyed our stay. Wount be caming to stay again.
Review 73:The T.V.and the breakfast.
Review 74:Just review your bill on checkout. There was a significant variation between the booking.com quote and the final invoice. The rate was much higher, untaken minibar drinks had been added along with phantom breakfasts. It was quickly resolved with my copy of the reservation.
Review 75:Friendly and helpful staff
Review 76:The staff are great, and the location is fantastic. If you are travelling as a tourist, and want to experience the bars, restaurants, live music and shopping, this is the place to stay.
Review 77:I was told breakfast was included and it wasn't, my bill had extra payments on it that I had already paid in cash.
Review 78:Room was nice, but wifi was sketchy.
Review 79:Amazing location. Stayed in Dublin many times in different hotels and this hotel is the most central and everything is within walking distance including; Grafton street, Olympia theatre, st stephen's green etc.
Review 80:Very clean modern hotel right in the heart of Dublin and close to the vibrant nightlife. Would definitely stay in this hotel again. Highly recommended!
Review 81:Found previous residents sunglasses in the safe. Carrier bag in a cupboard so cleaner had not checked .
Review 82:Great location in Temple Bar. Opposite a car park. Good bar with music.
Review 83:Great cocktails and lovely staff. Right smack bang in the middle of temple bar. Perfect location for a weekend of city fun. Street noise present of course but wasn't anything like some of the other reviews I've read here. It's a city location so you won't be getting countryside bliss. Great spot for a few nights on the town in Dublin.
Review 84:Can be noisy at front if your light sleeper get back room if not front is great on its on vibrant lively street
Review 85:Rooms very comfortable good breakfast very central
Review 86:Reception staff could have even more helpful with questions about the area and how to get to certain places. Room was nice but a little clostraphobic (queen room)
Review 87:The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the middle of the city.
Review 88:I had asked for a quiet room.... I'm not sure if there actually was one but it certainly wasn't room 109! I felt like I was in the middle of a nightclub and I wear earplugs! Pillows were very hard and uncomfortable.
Review 89:Very central location and helpful staff
Review 90:My bed was so uncomfortable it was a double bed but it was like two single beds pushed together there was this horrible bar down the middle which I was waking during the night with it digging into my back .. There was also a lot of noise during the night.
Review 91:Myself and friends and family is always in Morgan bar and the staff is so helpfull and friendly.
Review 92:This was the last hotel during a 3 week trip and was the ONLY hotel I had an issue with. The rooms were small and other than a throw blanket the furniture and quality was not different from a hostel. There is a "club" in the hotel, which means at 1:30am three floors up the base was shaking the walls - and that was on a Sunday. The staff was nice but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 93:The lift was slow and not working for part of the stay. Glass door for bathroom not ideal if you don't wish to know someone that intimately!!
Review 94:Staff were fantastic! The breakfast buffet at 10 euros a person is a great deal. The bar is very lively. Fantastic location. Would not recommend for families with small children.
Review 95:Be careful of the minibar if you take it out for over 10 seconds you get charged! Be careful to read the instructions first! :)
Review 96:Room was nice quiet large, - seating area, desk area, bed was amazing huge and comfy. Location is great. Staff were all very friendly - girl who checked us in, gave us free breakfast nice perk! Staff at the breakfast were also very friendly. Breakfast had a great selection. Nightclub/pub is great. Also gave you 10% of food in the bar and voucher for buy one get one free cocktail for mid afternoon.
Review 97:Charged €35 euro for three drinks from the fridge. All be it Jack Daniels, Jamesons and a can of coke. Also be carefull with the bottles if water from the fridge, ours had been opened and filled with tap water.
Review 98:Great spot
Review 99:Bar service a bit slow - probably not a bad thing as we were knocking back the Morgan Bubbles cocktails!
Review 100:Loved the ambience on arrival - front office very friendly, our room was amazing, staff great!
Review 101:I actually had nothing to write here, I will go back to this hotel for our next special occasion
Review 102:Free upgrade to a really nice room with a bath in the centre of the bedroom. The bed was like sleeping in the clouds. I would go back for the bed alone but it's a classy hotel at a reasonable rate for the high end finish to the decor
Review 103:We specifically asked for a room at high level and got 1st floor. Two of our friend both got rooms at high level with balcony without asking for it. That's poor service but apart from that all was good.
Review 104:Location, standard and service.
Review 105:For one night I felt it was a bit expensive considering breakfast was not included. Also the number of power sockets were limited and it was hard to dry your hair as the hair dryer lead would not stretch as far as the mirror.
Review 106:Good Location easy to find and central location. Staff were very friendly.
Review 107:Well! you can't pick a better location. We had a room at the back, it wasn't noisey but they do supply ear plugs! Breakfast was nice good buffet selection. Saturday night the hotel comes alive. Will defo return
Review 108:Had a brilliant stay at the Morgan hotel stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother, food and cocktails were lovely especially in the lovely sophisticated bar!!! Overall a brilliant stay and will Defintly be staying here again
Review 109:The fact that I had to show my key card to get in the hotel because it's a bar aswell. The fact that I paid €160 for a room the size of a postage stamp with 2 single beds pushed together and other members of the group paid less for a better room
Review 110:The location was good for the night out although it meant it was noisy but I expected that. The reception and guest relation staff were really helpful though the following day holding my luggage and allowing to print my boarding pass
Review 111:The lift ! It's like a padded cell or coffin!! The housekeeping staff could be a bit more observant , we found chewing gum in the bedroom bin, used make up wipe stuck to lid of bathroom bin and the shower door was missing ( supposed to be double doors )
Review 112:Great Location. Beautiful comfortable bedroom . Friendly helpful staff
Review 113:Could not get wifi to work in room even with help of staff. Worked well in the lobby.
Review 114:A great place to stay for seeing Dublin. Comfortable room and very friendly, helpful staff
Review 115:The noise, loud music and partiers outside the hotel nearly all night long. But I was previously aware of it, wore my supplied earplugs and had known what I was walking into. If the hotel was perhaps one block off the street it is on it might be better, or if there was a room on the back side. However I was in the Morgan suite and all told I had a really great time though I'm unsure I could have done more than my single night there. But then if you join in the revelry, you may not really notice the noise on the street.
Review 116:The Morgan is spot on located in the middle of things. I liked everything about the Morgan. However you have to be aware you are given earplugs to use to sleep through all night revelry on the street.
Review 117:OK rooms and facilities. Check in process was poorly communicated. We arrived early, waiting to check in was expected. But being told it will be ready in an hour, hour after hour for 4 hours was not expected. Then they asked us to switch rooms with someone that wanted our type of room.
Review 118:Staff was very nice. Great location.
Review 119:The gentleman who checked us in was lovely & very helpful. The girls behind the bar on Saturday were lovely especially the blonde lady she was fantastic but when we checked out early hours on Sunday morning the girl was in the back & there was 2 lots of us waiting to checkout - after not dealing with us after waiting 10 minutes we left as needed to get to the airport
Review 120:In a word Exceptional. ..A hotel in Dublin in fantastic central location who's staff truly understand outstanding service. Would particularly like to express my sincere thanks to Paula at reception who made us feel 'at home' from the moment we entered the hotel....Thanks to the Morgan & its exemplorary staff for a wonderful and memorable trip to Dublin
Review 121:There was only one down point, the noise. We got in late, and it was still incredibly loud til nearer 4 in the morning. But if you're in late anyway - its not going to bother you much.
Review 122:The room was amazing. Almost a suite in size. The bed was great huge, but just a little too soft for my tastes. The decor was beautiful and it was impeccably clean. The staff were lovely and helpful.
Review 123:Usual lack of instruction for the air con. Didn't seem to be effective.
Review 124:Good hotel if you want to be based in Temple Bar. Quiet room-for Temple Bar. Convenient to centre. Didn't see much of the hotel otherwise to judge comprehensively. Just a comfortable place for one night.
Review 125:Overall the staff were extremely professional and helpful, although there was one person who was a little snippy with me when I asked for a restaurant recommendation. The breakfast was tasty but the staff seemed overwhelmed and unprepared for the crowd on the morning I went (Tuesday morning, Sept 15), so there was a bit of a wait to be seated and for beverage service. Also I feel that it would be better to have containers with lids attached for the buffet style dishes, since there wasn't a lot of space to put the lids down on the table.
Review 126:The location was excellent, very convenient to all the major attractions in Dublin, and with lots of restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The beds were comfortable and facilities were great! Rooms were clean and had everything we needed! Although the area was quite noisy, we appreciated the earplugs and most of the noise was gone with the windows closed. I think the location makes that aspect of the stay worthwhile. There is also a bus stop with reasonably priced bus service to the airport just a few minutes away.
Review 127:The decor is fab, beds are so comfortable! We had a great nights sleep. The location was brilliant for us we spent the majority of our trip in the local pubs that were fantastic!
Review 128:Fantastic room 125, bath in your bedroom. Love the atmosphere, we have stayed many times before and will continue to come back.Ramute was fantastic at Reception.
Review 129:Chic, well-appointed hotel. We received fabulous customer service after reporting minor problems. The manager went beyond expectations and we left knowing we will be back. Nice bar with great food, craft cocktails and fun decor. A class act!
