Reviews for Qc's Townhouse & Seafood Restaurant
Review 1:Our room was beautiful - modern and quirky. We ate in restaurant both nights as it was so good!!! The staff were so lovely - they could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend QC's to anyone making a trip to the RoK.
Review 2:Personally I dont like animal skins in a room
Review 3:Outstanding room and en suite plus lovely breakfast delivered to room Excellent staff, especially Mags ?
Review 4:As with most B&Bs, reception was a bit hard to coordinate. Only a few flights of stairs to manage; however, they might present a challenge to persons with limited mobility. No view. Some street noise but nothing major.
Review 5:Staying halfway around the RoK in Cahersiveen was a good decision; and, QC's is the best place to stay there. Great food. Modern, clean apartments. Easy to park the car IF one arrives to the rear of the property. Kate was wonderful!
Review 6:Asked for room with a bath so loved that ...and we ate downstairs both nights excellent Seafood....Staff very welcoming..though they were not able to offer the Golf simulator to my husband as the owner was away...a small thing ..perhaps if we go down again.
Review 7:The only drawback was a continental breakfast in the room. It would have been much nicer to have had breakfast in the restaurant, but so saying, it was a good breakfast.
Review 8:A lovely room - well designed and welcoming. Bathroom warm and a great shower. Meal in the restaurant was excellent. This hotel and restaurant were designed with a great deal of pride and thought.
Review 9:Nothing occurs - except perhaps if bread could have been baked that morning.
Review 10:Interior design of room. Imiganative and healthy breakfast. Effort of owners to get it right!
Review 11:All I can say is wow! I cannot recommend this place highly enough - a real gem. The food was delicious, the rooms are so clean & comfortable with great attention to detail. Fresh muffins & croissants hanging on the door in the morning, what more can you ask for?! Loved it!
Review 12:The bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast is tasty and fresh. Also the late checkout is brilliant after a relaxing evening in Caherciveen!
Review 13:Loved our leisurely breakfast in the comfort of our own room - food was amazing, fresh fruit, compote and freshly baked muffins! Staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive to our needs - extremely welcoming, chatty and jovial! All in all, was an absolute pleasure staying at QC's!
Review 14:Nothing to dislike,
Review 15:Lovely rooms and cold breakfast supplied in the room was excellent, staff very friendly, a great place. The bisque in the restaurant is a must have,
Review 16:Can't recommend QC's highly enough. Unique, luxurious, comfortable base to explore a beautiful part of Ireland. The breakfast was a lovely touch and the food in the restaurant was delicious.
Review 17:To me a B&B means Bed & Breakfast. Not having the option of a Irish breakfast or eggs was very disappointing considering the expensive rates. The croissant was not fresh as it was hanging on the door from the night before. We traveled to Dingle, Galway and Clifden after QC's and all offered a large breakfast option for similar price even though all the others were hotels that also had pools and other facilities. Very expensive B&B that did not deliver the 2nd B. The room and staff were excellent and if it was cheaper it would be a good location.
Review 18:I booked the deluxe room expecting the bath in the room as the photos on the website suggest, however the deluxe room we got had no bath. My husband was disappointed at the lack of a cooked breakfast, I enjoyed the continental breakfast.
Review 19:Lovely restaurant, big bed, powerful shower, beautifully decorated throughout!
Review 20:I loved the whole breakfast idea- breakfast in the room and the delivery of homemade muffins and croissants during the night so they are ready in the morning. Loved the rhubarb compote and homemade granola too.
Review 21:Cahersiveen is not the prettiest town, but a stop in QCs makes it worth visiting!
Review 22:Fab room, love the novel breakfast idea, staff so accommodating, my second time staying here, would not hesitate to recommend
Review 23:Loved every minute!
Review 24:Rooms were decorated to a very high standard, very unique and luxurious. Continental breakfast was homemade, very hearty and delicious
Review 25:No cooked breakfast option. Surprisingly as excellent restaurant is probably the main business here.Picnic style cold breakfast in room only. I felt this was a poor offering for the price charged Also a cooked breakfast is part of the indulgence of a getaway from the everyday for most people.
Review 26:Central location with secure parking. Spacious spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated rooms and common area. Enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant.
Review 27:Nothing. Bit of a wait for food but that's what happens when the food is good
Review 28:Great place to stay. Rooms are beautiful and the restaurant downstairs was some of the best food we have had in Cork
Review 29:Lovely rooms, very spacious and well appointed. Continental breakfast was provided in your room and was delicious with a lot of choice. Great location on the high street and although it is part of the restaurant (which was excellent and well worth a visit) you also felt it was separate too.
Review 30:-Everything was closed and no one was at reception upon our arrival, we had to knock on the restaurant door for someone to let us in.
Review 31:-Great dinner at the restaurant -Spacious room, well designed, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. -Free breakfast in the morning had a lot of personal touches. -Friendly staff
Review 32:Saturday night in this wonderful village was surprisingly noisy from local pubs No major drama though.
Review 33:Fantastic boutique bedrooms. Beautifully decorated. Breakfast in room inspired idea and quality fresh products used. lounge are with piano fire books and chess a delightful cosy haven. Restaraunt food superb . Staff a delight.
Review 34:Total relaxation from the moment we arrived. Staff were so accommodating and efficient. Great food and rooms were so comfortable. The breakfast the following morning was a unique and personal touch.
Review 35:There was nothing not to like
Review 36:Everything about QC's was spot on,my niece and I had a wonderful three night stay, great location,Terrific starting point for the Ring Of Kerry..The room was fab..hope to get back for a winter break...
Review 37:this is an *excellent* small hotel, in the centre of town. The restaurant is of very high standard; and they make not providing a 'traditional cooked' breakfast a benefit by providing an excellent alternative. I shall certainly stay again
Review 38:Everything was great! Maybe if we can have hot breakfast at the restaurant would be really great.
Review 39:Conveniently located near the main bus station. Good for people taking public transport. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food at the hotel restaurant.
Review 40:Breakfast is served in the room (yoghurt, fruit, muffin and croissant) and is alright when staying for one night but when staying for more nights it is the same every day without hot food, regular bread, toast or cereal. When located above such a good restaurant one expects the possibility of a warm breakfast.
Review 41:Spacious room (red room), very nicely decorated. Private parking place. Good restaurant.
Review 42:Quirky little stay with friendly, chatty staff. Room was lovely, very private with nice little touches like local produce and fresh croissants hung on the door for breakfast next morning. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent - seafood is delicious. Great location for day trips such as Skelligs. Worth a stop of doing the wild Atlantic way.
Review 43:We wish éd we had more time to stay as it is a great place. Peacefully, tastefully décorateur, amazing breakfast. It is the best place here we stayer during our trip. We would come back if we ever are back in Ireland.
Review 44:Noise from the street. But there again this was an Irish town on a Saturday night.
Review 45:The fresh fruit and the delicious breakfast. The room did not ajoin another therefore was private. Quality decore. Consumable provisions replenished. Evening meal in restaurant was very good. TV in lounge got BBC F1 in HD, great.
Review 46:It was a hot night so with windows open was a little noisy outside.
Review 47:Absolutely beautiful room & great quality of extras Food great in restaurant too Highly recommend
Review 48:Small point. We needed more milk in the morning and as there was no staff to request this, I had to go across the road to buy it. If we had known we were in the loft, we would have requested a lower floor with a window out to the street.
Review 49:The attractive and interesting decor. The excellent meal in the restaurant. Our bed was very comfortable. Lovely fresh produce for breakfast in the room.
Review 50:The hotel in on the main street in the centre of town. We were met be a very friendly and helpful staff member who showed us to our fantastic room. The room was very bright and spacious, had a huge comfy bed, a double shower in a spotlessly clean bathroom, the fridge was stocked with fruit juice, fruit salad and yoghurt with stewed rhubarb, a real treat. It was above and beyond our expectations, we were delighted.
Review 51:The only thing that I didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer
Review 52:Everything. Great staff, amazing room with everything you need. Unlimited coffee, wifi, TV with hdmi lead, bath always hot, super double shower, great breakfast, very relaxed and luxurious without the price tag. The best place I have ever stayed
Review 53:I liked everything.
Review 54:Friendly and efficient atmosphere. Decor and comfort is top drawer. Along with your large very comfortable bed with crisp white linen is a bistro table, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, and fridge stocked with fresh fruit, compote, juices and muesli. This means you can enjoy breakfast at your leisure. While you sleep the Breakfast Fairy bakes your delicious croissant & muffin which is then hung on your door for when you wake. The fact that you can wine, dine and enjoy the restaurant which serves freshly caught fish downstairs from your room is a bonus. The bar too strikes the right balance between craic and comfort. Need I say more?
Review 55:Nothing.
Review 56:We liked everything about QC's. The room was very comfortable and they thought of everything you might need. We especially liked the breakfast in the room.
Review 57:nothing whatsoever to dislike
Review 58:Everything about QC's was excellent, from the welcome we received, the fabulous accomodation and wonderful food. Can recommend it highly.....will definitely be back.
Review 59:Would have liked more non-fish options on menu
Review 60:Loved the bed Loved the comfort of the room, especially when you're in Ireland and you're simply not guaranteed the weather. Loved the proximity of the restaurant
Review 61:Central location, ideal for exploring the Ring of Kerry. Spacious room, huge bath, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast in your room, helpful and friendy staff. Excellent restaurant too.
Review 62:Our hosts were on site to greet, Blazing fire fantastic food ...great friendly staff. The room is really a suite, spacious very nouveau style. Books to relax with then shock surprise a full golf studio with professional clinic if you want advise on your swing host Andy is there on hand, Kate is charming wife was also giving tips on local trips not to miss. It's much more than a townhouse it's an experience, we could have stayed a few days.
Review 63:Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable, modern, warm. The food was amazing. And the people were very friendly. I definitely recommend it.
Review 64:A great welcome, Comfort food by the fireplace on a cold January night and a luxurious spacious bedroom. Loved the fresh muffins and fruit breakfast in bed
Review 65:The attention to detail. Beautiful appointed rooms. Mattress comfort :) The breakfast concept was delicious and fun. The restaurant food was excellent. We all had different choices all were quality. Great wine choice. Do go shooting it was so much fun.. Couldn't tear ourselves away had to have lunch before we left! Can't wait to go back.
Review 66:The room was amazing, so cosy and warm. The breakfast in a room is such a great idea. The owner was also very friendly. The diner was excellent by the fire. The whole hotel was very cute and well decorated. All very clean. We really enjoyed our time.. so relaxing.
Review 67:Just back from having spent two nights at the QC townhouse ...we arrived late but had a very warm welcome from Kate and Andrew who own the place. Our room was huge, warm and amazing with a stand alone bath, beautiful interior designs, and all creature comforts.. We were there for my mothers 80th and Kate arranged for a cake as we also ate the following evening in the restaurant which again was top class. I would thoroughly recommend this place, it has all the ingredients to make your stay a fantastic experience! Room Tip: They are all of the same standard and only differ slightly in size depending on standard or deluxe.
Review 68:The only negitive thing I can say is that there was no hot breakfast. I loved the breakfast provided but my husband wanted eggs and toast.
Review 69:What a fabulous find! The room was bright, big and beautifully decorated. Coffee maker in the room was great. The bathroom was new, great double shower with rainfall showerhead. The owner and her daughter were so welcoming, lovely people. Your room is setup so you can have your breakfast in your room, which is actually nice. The breakfast consists of crosiants, muffins, homemade granola, fruit and applejuice.
Review 70:I would prefer a buffet style breakfast. I had requested a gluten free breakfast and that was not delivered.
Review 71:The room was very nice - comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the tub!! and the celebration of the football game between county Kerry and County Donegal. the fire in the common room was very cozy. Thank you.
Review 72:We loved our stay at QC's, the only slight downside was the reaction from the owner when we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant for dinner. They couldn't give a positive review of the restaurant we had in mind, and when asked for an alternative, they couldn't recommend anywhere. While I am 100% aware that they have their own restaurant and would like guests to patronize that, we had already dined there the previous night, and so were looking for somewhere different for our second night. We just felt it was a poor reflection that being in the hospitality business, they didn't have a single other business in the town they could recommend or promote. As we had already eaten and stayed in QC's, we didn't feel like it was out of the way to ask their recommendation for another restaurant; however, we were sorry we did, and we felt awkward and uncomfortable afterwards.
Review 73:Loved the initial impression of QC's Townshouse; really different and quirky. The room was more like a studio apartment, really spacious and bright. Breakfast in your room is a great idea, so much more relaxed. We had dinner one night in the restaurant downstairs and it was fabulous, overall, really enjoyed our stay.
Review 74:The town isn't much but it's a nice, non-touristy spot along the Ring of Kerry.
Review 75:And the complimentary breakfast was great and more than we could eat. Good work.
Review 76:From the moment we arrived and greeted by the fab staff, it was a little slice of paradise! Dinner was fantastic and our room was perfect! Highly recommend!!
Review 77:A very small negative the TV was too low making it a little bit hard to see when lying in bed.
Review 78:I have never been I such a beautiful b&b. All room were decorated differently in such a relaxing and charming atmosphere! Can't wait to go back. We stayed an extra night because we enjoyed ourselves so much. Kate made us feel very welcomed and served up some smashing food! Well done guys keep it up and we will see you next year!
Review 79:Continential breakfast in the room may not be to everyones liking. For those planning a day around walking or cycling a more substantial breakfast would be welcome.
Review 80:Rooms are comfortable, spacious, modern and spotless
Review 81:Continental breakfast was A1 but a sneaky option of a full Irish on the side perhaps for us cholesterol cravers? :-)
Review 82:Exceptional host and hostess. Greeted and guided by the proprietor from the moment we entered the car park. Warm friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout stay. Seamless blend of contemporary and traditional styles design wise. Excellent food at the restaurant and the accommodation was very comfortable and extremely cosy. Can't rate high enough. Only regret is not staying longer.
Review 83:Nothing!
Review 84:Staff and facilities are first class. The owner should be the travel agent for the region!! He was able to give us so much help with his local knowledge it was invaluable and made our limited time in Caherslveen more fruitful.
Review 85:We only stayed three nights:(.
Review 86:Everything. Have stayed in hundreds of hotels/guest houses in my day. And this one would be in my top five. Great host Kate, Great Breakfast, Great Food in the restaurant and Great Room's. Go you won't find better.
Review 87:QC's is the perfect base in west Kerry, ideal for walking and taking a boat trip to the Skelligs. We also ate at QC's, dinner is highly recommended and the wine list is very comprehensive.
Review 88:The town of caherciveen needs a lot of work to bring it back to life (appears run down and a lot of shops closed), when compared to likes of sneem which has a lot of character
Review 89:QCs is like an oasis in the centre of the town
Review 90:Only drawback was only continental breakfast available. For a place with such a great restaurant not to have hot breakfast available for their guests was surprising.
Review 91:The room was exceptional. Very comfortable, bright, great bath. Food in the restaurant was lovely. Located in the middle of the town. Staff were very friendly.
Review 92:I love everything about QCs. Cannot wait to go back. The rooms are gorgeous, we had the best sleep ever! Such character to the place even down to the cups in the room. Welcoming staff and fantastic food. An absolute treat! Stay here and visit Valentia Island while you are there.
Review 93:Nothing
Review 94:A very spacious well appointed room. Excellent wifi Continental breakfast in room worked perfectly for us. Secure parking. The associated restaurant is excellent
Review 95:The overall impression was that the whole package was very overpriced. The staff were fine but not welcoming or friendly. The room was not ready when we arrived shortly after three pm and we did not receive an apology for this. The room itself was extremely basic and while there were nice touches the furniture etc. felt very cheap. An equivilant breakfast could be picked up at a local spar.
Review 96:The food in the restaurant is good but very over priced. The decor in the accommodation area is pleasant but feels quite cheap.
Review 97:Nothing negative.
Review 98:Lovely large room ("Orange"). Top class restaurant on site with indoor and covered courtyard seating. Plentiful continental breakfast from fridge/pantry in room with fresh croissants & muffins delivered. En suite with shower. Also big bath in bedroom.
Review 99:Granted QC's is in a fab location for starters but really they have done a great job and making theres and very comfortable, homely and luxurious place to stay. Fridge with amenities, great shower and fantastic sized room. Coffee machine and great decor plus sky lights and breakfast in bed made this a very relazxing break! Also ate in the restaruant and it was deliciously and well set!
Review 100:Nothing except the noise from the nearby nightclub turning out at around 2.30am!
Review 101:Everything, especially the Nespresso machine, never had one of those in my room before! Even the continental breakfast in our room was excellent with first rate products Loved everything
Review 102:I loved everything about QC's Townhouse - it's amazing!!!!
Review 103:I fell in love with everything about QC's Townhouse! The bedroom is by far the nicest room I have ever slept in! Everything was sparking clean & the attention to detail at every level, was exemplary. The decor was soothing and refreshing. The freestanding bath in my room, resting on colourful mosaic tiles was for me, the highlight! The beds were super comfy and our room was very spacious and tranquil. Having the luxury of our own Nespresso machine & a fridge filled with homemade yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit salads, muesli & fresh apple juice was the icing on the cake! We also had dinner in the restaurant - crab-claws & a lobster dish, which was beyond delicious! I can't wait to visit again!
Review 104:"the view": we had the yellow room on the groundfloor to the side street
Review 105:lovely location, nice & helpful staff and owners spacious room with comfortable beds nespresso machine and of course the delicious fresh seafood in the restaurant
Review 106:its not that we didnt like, but some staff are a little unfriendly, at times it felt as if they just didnt want to be there. They could take a leaf out of of Kate the owners book, she was fab, jolly, friendly, hardworking. They slightly let her down.
Review 107:Lovely bright modern bedroom. facilities are well thought out in bedrooms. Coffee machine, fruit, juice, lovely personal touches. The food is really terrific, ate elsewhere on on night and regretted not eating again in Qc's Would highly recommend.
Review 108:Absolutely gorgeous! Rooms were tastefully decorated with many quirks and interests! Kate the owner was a fab host very accommodating! Value for money such as Qc's townhouse is not easily found! Would love to return!
Review 109:The only complaint I had was that the restaurant was very hot as the heating was on. But after I asked for it to be turned off. It was much better.
Review 110:I loved our stay in Qc's. The breakfast was a great idea, I love the relaxed atmosphere to breakfast. It was delicious. We had dinner in the restaurant, it was fantastic. You are doing yourself a disservice if you stay there and don't have dinner. The room was fantastic, the decor and amenities were fantastic.
Review 111:Beautiful, spacious room with gorgeous soaker tub! In room continental breakfast was amazing and the fireplace in guest lobby was perfect place to enjoy last Guiness of the day!
Review 112:The room was excellent and loved the modern look and big comfortable bed
Review 113:Even though all excellent. No choice of hot breakfast. Some like a fry up in morning.
Review 114:Everything.
Review 115:Great to be able to eat a fabulous meal and then ramble up the corridor to our room.
Review 116:Was made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Also had very good wifi. Kate and Andrew were the perfect hosts.
Review 117:Great stay, quirky place really helpful, , definitely come back. recommend highly.
Review 118:Uniqueness of the design
