Reviews for Hotel Poggio Regillo

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:This is a well located hotel within 30-40 minutes of Ciampino airport and a few minutes from the town of Frascati. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is bright and clean and beautifully decorated with numerous old and interesting prints. Rooms are very comfortable and adequately equipped. Breakfast is good. Both check in and out were friendly and efficient. WiFi works well. There is a restaurant immediately next to the hotel that is excellent (booking recommended ). There is also a pizzeria next door that we visited during a previous stay that is also good quality. All in all this is a great value for money hotel.

Review 3:We always look forward to our stay here. It is in the country close to the little town of Frascati. Lovely room, helpful staff, easy access to the airport and great dining in Frascati.

Review 4:It was advertised as allowing pets but on arrival we were told our small dog would need to be put into the hotel's kennels. We persuaded the staff to allow her in the room but it shouldn't be advertised as it is on the description

Review 5:Simply stunning gardens

Review 6:It was a good idea that we have chosen this hotel. Everybody was satisfied with it. The garden is a highlight - people can enjoy a morning walk among the olive trees.

Review 7:- It was not a rich continental Breakfast, as indicated in the description. Only toast, sweets and fruits. - Not very tasty coffee from coffee machine - very expensive restaurant

Review 8:- free parking(for Rome and the surrounding area it is very important) - location

Review 9:the only thing that I didn't really like was that it is very close to the highway and thus you can hear the traffic but other than that; my family and I had a very comfortable night

Review 10:very pretty hotel and excellent reception day of arrival. always professional, kind and courteous we also loved being surrounded by the vineyards and all the lush greenery

Review 11:Although stated on the website, the shuttle was not free any more (9EUR per trip).

Review 12:The room was well equipped and very clean. The staff is very friendly.

Review 13:The motorway noise meant the window had to be shut

Review 14:The price was excellent We were given adequate help on arrival The restaurant next door was pleasant The room was spacious

Review 15:Like many Italian 3 star hotels the bathroom fittings were in need of the simplest of maintenance. But unlike many Italian 3 star hotels, the shower drained well. I have no idea why bathroom maintenance slips so often. Just saying.

Review 16:We booked through Booking dot com and I must admit I thought it was closer to Frascati than it was. We were in our car so that was not a problem and in fact after a day we realised it was quite good to be away from Frascati. The room was nice, quite large, very clean. Our room was on the first floor and from the balcony we could see the traffic on the A1 but to be perfectly fair we didn't hear a sound from the motorway from behind the windows. We ate at the Ristorante Accademia next to the hotel and also at the Pizzeria next door. Free Wifi worked well for all devices. We would definitely stay again if we want to further explore the area. I just hope some of the roads in the area have been repaired before our next visit.

Review 17:Do not be fooled like we were this hotel claims to be green and it is far from it. Breakfasts are far from fresh, rooms are small, the coridor smells and the air conditioning units are noisy. Bathroom fittings were falling off the wall all together badly maintained.

Review 18:Nothing the place was awfull.

Review 19:The nearness of the motorway and train line, which made it slightly noisy. The excellent ceiling woodwork creaked as it contracted or expanded in the night in the suite

Review 20:The room was tastefully furnished and decorated and the views from the vary large terrace were outstanding

Review 21:The hotel restaurant was closed. The staff made reservation for us in a restaurant over the corner that served traditional italian dishes and good home vine.

Review 22:Very clean and well equipped hotel.

Review 23:It's not so much that we didn't like the location, it's just that when we were told Rome, we didn't expect to be out in the middle of nowhere with roads you can't walk on, and therefore we didn't rent a car. The hotel website also mentions transfer to the airport and city, although that wasn't quite true.

Review 24:The reception staff was incredibly helpful, unlike those working in the restaurant, although to be fair the rest is not part of the hotel despite sharing the same location. The night we arrived, we couldn't find anywhere to eat; the restaurant at the hotel was fully booked and the only three options nearby were fully booked, closed, and non-existent, in that order. The gentleman working in the reception told us not to worry and give him 15 minutes. During that time he arranged for a delicious pizza and fantastic local bottle of wine, set a table for us in an empty terrace, and turned a night that could have been a total disaster into a memorable one.

Review 25:Bad signal on television and all in italian!!

Review 26:We liked everything as you can see from our rating The young man at reception went out of his way to be helpful and make us feel welcome we cannot thank him enough

Review 27:Hotel's staff was very good and helpfull - the man from reception desk especially - thank you. Wifi was ok, breakfast without vegatables but ok. Very comfortable and not so far from metro station.

Review 28:The welcome on our arrival, tired and hot from budget flight ( avoid Ryanair) to be greeted with excellent service. The restaurant right next door to hotel had some of the best food we ate while in Italy, and good prices too.

Review 29:Cosy and warm

Review 30:Not good if you want to use public transport. Taxi travel is expensive

Review 31:Our room was located near a huge Cellular antenna . it is horrible !

Review 32:Great location with lots of parking, friendly staff and a nice breakfast

Review 33:The less the friendly staff on the evening shift.

Review 34:The very friendly staff on the morning shift.

Review 35:Beautiful hotel and grounds. On site restaurant was also very good. Staff were very pleasant.

Review 36:Good location. Frascati is brilliant.

Review 37:The personal was very helpful.

Review 38:nothing

Review 39:large room, very clean, nice view, good breakfast, comfortable bed

Review 40:cobwebs in rooms

Review 41:good breakfast

Review 42:I was only given one key and if I had to leave the room with the key the outlets and TV didn't work. The refrigerator didn't work well. The toilet wasn't attached to the floor.

Review 43:The grounds were pretty. The restaurant had great food but it was good I made a reservation a day in advance. Breakfast was great. Very clean.

Review 44:Juice on the breakfast is diluted with water.

Review 45:It is very good choice, if you are traveling by car. Nice location, big private parking, green and pleasant territory. Nice breakfast, fast internet, clean room.

Review 46:My only complaint is that there was some mold between th lower tiles in the shower. I know I'm being picky, but in this day and age there are products that make full control of mold easy.

Review 47:Lovely helpful staff, clean, comfortable room. Location very close to the autostrada, but still very quiet. Beautiful, peaceful grounds.

Review 48:The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable.

Review 49:We stayed at the Poggio Regilio for a couple of nights during Easter week. it is located outside of Frascati next to the A1. It is easily accessible and has plenty of parking. However, while the grounds are nice, the setting is not quite as rural as portrayed on its web site. It's more like a "frontage road" hotel in the U.S. The restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff was polite and efficient. Overall, a good stay.

Review 50:Can be a bit noisy early morning in the front of the hotel if you have the windows open

Review 51:Excellent staff, especially on reception. Hotel has a restaurant attached which served some superb meals. We had a family room which was large and had good en suite facilities. Breakfast is served on the third floor which offers wonderful views over Frascati and Rome. Even a ride in the lift is an experience with wonderful views Breakfast is well displayed and has a good variety. Will use this hotel again and recommend it.

Review 52:What's not to like!

Review 53:Everything about the Hotel is ideal, from check in to recommendations and reservations for lunch in Frascatti. The room was large, spacious and airy and the grounds are beautiful. If you do not like staying directly in Rome but like easy access, this is the place to stay. One more thing that I must mention. We never eat in hotel restaurants. We find that by in large the food is passable at best and terrible at worst. Our minds were changed by dining in the restaurant associated with this hotel. All I can say is that it was some of the best food we had on our two weeks of travel in Umbria. Bravo!!!

Review 54:We got a room that the view was a dirty wall. Its in the first floor. Be ware. The stuff werent very nice. When we ask for an extra pillow she said she don't have one. The restaurant was close even that we came their because of it.

Review 55:The place is ok

Review 56:We chose Poggio Regillo as the best spot for our first night on a threeweek tour of Italy. We picked up a rental car and wanted to be close tothe airport but definitely on our way to southern Italy - withoutdealing with Rome traffic. This was the perfect solution - a shortdriving distance from fco but easy to find on the road to Naples andsouth. A perfect choice! Plenty of parking and a restaurant within ablock for dinner. The room was spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Theperfect beginning to our visit to Italy.

Review 57:The city of Frascati was insane. Very crowded and no parking available.

Review 58:Very nice hotel near Rome and not in the city of Frascati. Nice grounds and quiet room.

Review 59:The family room was big with a separate room for the kids, large tv, coffee & tea and clean & tidy. The breakfast was good value, the staff were helpful, the location was close to town with about 5mins to the train centre.

Review 60:No tea & coffee facilities in room but may be due to room price . Bar not really in use as only receptionist on duty also no where to sit in bar area as only 2/3 stools as we were party of 4 adults. Only seating in undercover conservatory but due to time of year very cold. No food available as restaurant area reserved for birthday party so as guests we were offered pizza delivery or walk to nearby pizza restuarant. we chose the latter. Nice but lacking in hotel facilities for guests.

Review 61:Goog location with nice grounds & views. Clean & friendly.

Review 62:+ A bit too far to walk from train station (Frascati or Tor Vergata) with luggage (between 2 and 3 km)

Review 63:+ Reasonable price + Friendly staff + Comfortable bed (slept well) + Lot of space (2 rooms) + Fridge + Restaurant and nearby pizzeria (although a bit expensive) + Free Hotel Shuttle in the morning + Beautiful country-side nature (plus that I was lucky with weather)

Review 64:It was a little warm in the hotel and we didn't manage to adjust the air conditioning but we didn't ask the staff so in some ways it isn't fair to criticise. I would have preferrred a quilt on the bed.

Review 65:It is informal and friendly resort our room was excellent and very good value. Its location is brilliant for accessing Rome however we preferred the hilltop villages which were located close by to the hotel. The breakfast was really good and the breakfast room had great views of Rome and the surrounding countryside.

Review 66:Very close to the autostrada which discourages you from opening windows (which are well sounproofed.)

Review 67:The hotel was very pleasant, staff was warm & friendly, value was excellent. Although they have a shuttle to & from the Frascati train station (where you can commute to Rome), you need a car to go anywhere else. Breakfast was minimal but adequate.

Review 68:Unfortunately rather noisy from the highway, so windows should be kept closed during the night.

Review 69:Surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, the hotel is nicely located in the hilly and beautiful landscape of Frascati with an amazing view over Rome. Close to Anagnina Metro station with free or cheap parking and quick access to the city centre of Rome. Very close to Ciampino Airport, so ideal for early departures. Very friendly staff, good breakfast.

Review 70:Clean, comfortable, book for a standard room, but.given a double room with balcony with garden view, and a kitchenette and a dining area, felt more like a suite, for the price, I certainly not complaining. Breakfast has left me pleasantly surprised and can't complement enough. All in all, highly recommended, but a word of reminder, you do need a car to get round.

Review 71:Excellent hotel- good location for exploring castelli Romani close to Frascati- 10 euro taxi drive away Very friendly helpful staff( They left a happy birthday message for my wife and a small gift of chocolates) Large family room- good air conditioning(Very much needed in early August)-room very clean

Review 72:The internet connection was slow and working intermittently. Fixtures inthe bathroom were not well fixed to the walls.

Review 73:The room was clean and quiet.

Review 74:The vicinity of the highway, but the rooms are silent

Review 75:The staff was very friendly and the room was well equipped with a silentand performing air conditionning system.

Review 76:It was an ideal stop over for the family as we were flying out ofCiampino. Comfortable room, if a little tight on space, a good breakfastand secure parking.

Review 77:Traffic noise from Autostrada, but no noise when window closed.

Review 78:Spacious accommodation, comfy bed, near to lakes. Beautiful environment.Good parking and lovely grounds.

Review 79:Close to the A1 so could hear the traffic, but not too bad.

Review 80:We were heading home to fly out of Rome, so this was a perfect last night place to stay. Lovely large room with a balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent internet connection. Really lovely hotel with clean modern decor.

Review 81:It is difficut (or not possible) to reach the hotel without car or taxi, room was very clean, but had some chemical smell

Review 82:nice green surrounding, large parking, very clean

Review 83:After cleaning the room they set the temperature up to 28 degrees Celsius! Way too warm imo.

Review 84:the room was very clean, excellent staff with good English skills and very friendly too.

Review 85:internet didn't work

Review 86:clean, nice location, friendly staff

Review 87:Excellent staff, very accomodating and helpful. Will stay again if in the area.

Review 88:Probably the distance from the town centre

Review 89:Beautiful setting and very helpful service

Review 90:One word is enough "Fantastic".

Review 91:the friendly, helpful staff and the generous breakfasts. The location was ideal and surroundings were beautiful and peaceful.

Review 92:close to highway, can hear road noise, slow internet

Review 93:Nice area, great garden, clean rooms, good value, friendly staff

Review 94:view on highway

Review 95:staff breakfast

Review 96:very friendly staff clean rooms very good parking numerous signs on the road help to find the hotel nice trees around

Review 97:The noise from the not so far freeway in the garden...

Review 98:The location, the simple, familiar, and yet professional manners of the staff.

Review 99:Amazing will definatly go back.

Review 100:The place and Silvia at the reception!

Review 101:Staff is excellent, they really do feel you like at home

Review 102:The noises from the streett.

Review 103:Very friendly staff. Hotel in very good shape.

Review 104:Very friendly and accommodating. Convenient location. Great breakfast.Good parking. Nice country atmosphere. Convenient for Rome.

Review 105:rooms to hot - hard to turn down the heater

Review 106:nice staff nice balcony!

Review 107:Breakfast rather limited, but probably the standard in the area

Review 108:Very friendly and helpful staff

Review 109:Staff were pleasant and spoke good english. The shuttle bus was great for us as a group to travel to nearby areas.
