Reviews for River Side Hotel
Review 1:None
Review 2:1. Next to the River. Amazing view. 2. Breakfast at Tiffanys. Wide spread to choose from. 3. Very helpful staff. 4. Walking distance from the happening places.
Review 3:There was no hot water for shower. The heating system was closed during night. That is why the room got cold up to the morning.
Review 4:Location is very good. Staff is very helpfull.
Review 5:Upon check out the elevate was broken I had to carry my luggage from 5th floor. However from the fourth to fifth floor there is no elevator service. The toilet is small, smells, and was flooding. The bed is not comfortable. The staff kept calling me before 12pm for check out while I have guineas account where I can stay up to 2 pm. They kept calling me before that and woke me up to get the iron board it is like they don't respect my don't disturb sign, at that time they actually lied to me and told me the housekeeper wants to give you something bot to take the board.
Review 6:Really Nothing is good about this hotel. This is not one of my bad experience. This is absolutely the worst
Review 7:I couldn't access TV in my room but, to be fair, I wasn't all that bothered.
Review 8:Staff were very helpful, especially receptionist who allowed us to print off our boarding passes. Bar staff were also cheerful and efficient.
Review 9:RS guys, if you must give us bath gel, be sure to also provide a wash cloth or loofah. And some moisturizer or body lotion would also help.
Review 10:River Side's greatest strength is the friendliness, helpfulness and efficiency of its people. It is a very well maintained boutique hotel, quite close to Rustaveli Avenue. The old-fashioned wooden balconies are a joy to sit on and have an evening glass of wine.
Review 11:Some window-side tables are told to be reserved for breakfast - which is far from convincing. However you can sit, if you wish to insist.
Review 12:Staff is extremely well trained about customer case. Rooms are neatly decorated. Art is everywhere in the hotel.
Review 13:Next to main road so can be a little noisy. Wifi didn't work so well in the room.
Review 14:Staff were very helpful and friendly. Accomodating with everything. Location right next to Dry Bridge Market and walking distance to Rustavili Ave.
Review 15:Some payment issues during check-out. They charged 1 night too many and could not rectify this as now the bank needs to credit my account. I trust however that this will happen within the next 3-4 working days.
Review 16:Airport pick
Review 17:airport pick up was expensive but at return bellboy bargain with taxi and I paid a low fee to taxi.
Review 18:Good location, close to everything also building was traditional. stuff was friendly and polite.
Review 19:В номерах, расположеных над кафе, слышна музыка.
Review 20:любезный персонал; чистенько; очень уютный опоясывающий балкон на 3-ем и 4-ом этаже, можно вечером в компании посидеть с видом на город и Куру.
Review 21:Elevator only up to 4th floor. 5th floor balcony lights can't be turned off at night, it's very irritating if you like to wake up with natural light because you can't sleep until you close all curtains tightly.
Review 22:Location is quite good, walking distance to many attraction points. Good view on the 5th floor.
Review 23:I was only there for two nights, you need longer!!
Review 24:Very pleasant hotel with lovely staff, thought The Tiffany bar was great. Enjoyed the inclusive breakfast. This is a really relaxed hotel with great staff
Review 25:I stayed at the River Side Hotel (Tbilisi) 23.11-26.11.2014 and I paid for my stay in hotel (full price), but they blocked about 100 euros from my credit card twice (total amount about 200 euros) for unknown reason and I didn*t get it back. I contacted the hotel, but they told me that they unbloked this money, but I don*t see it in my card. I didn*t expect this kind of cheating from the worldwide hotel brand like River Side. I ask you to help me get my money back.
Review 26:It should be called Traffic Side, because all you see it traffic, and lots of it 24/7, not the river. The traffic is so loud you can't have a conversation on the balcony. The streets and sidewalks surrounding it are in an advanced stage of decay. The rooms are very small for the price, especially the suite. The air conditioner was weak. The elevator is exceptionally small. And the restaurant menu is gross unless you enjoy things like chicken livers with pomegranate and onions.
Review 27:The location is decent, walking distance from the major attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful, and spoke English.
Review 28:Renovated Georgian style hotel, all new rooms, fresh décor and perfect, premium style service. Really, a very nice hotel in old city
Review 29:room is small
Review 30:location , breakfast

Review 35:Dirty
Review 36:Bad There is not 4 star hotel Very important that you know this Max 1star
Review 37:Nice, lovely, Georgian architectural style hotel in old city center, with rich national breakfast buffet and trained staff.
Review 38:The staff very friendly and helpful
Review 39:normal place with tired equipment and noisy location
Review 40:reception team was friendly, also one waiter was very helpful
Review 41:Breakfast Road view
Review 42:Location Wifi Clean
Review 43:No lift to 5th floor)))
Review 44:Location, kind personal, wi-fi, room
Review 45:bad wifi , not good location, not value the money I think it must be cheaper
Review 46:It is cozy , nice hotel
Review 47:Amazing Georgian style building, lovely new rooms and trained staff, especially front office manager Zviad and Yana.
Review 48:The staff is extremely helpful. Rooms are neat and are cleaned every day.
Review 49:There was no hot water. Connected bad without, and mantras was not suit to the bad.
Review 50:Nothing
Review 51:Service and location, boutique style, high ceiling, large rooms
Review 52:Good location, helpful staff, pleasant rooms and Georgian balconies, also lovely breakfast
Review 53:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size. We would go back again to this hotel.
Review 54:Noise outside, small room, bathroom smells like silicon, lighting is dim, out-dated lift
Review 55:Staff are great, location is ok, breakfast is good
Review 56:The lift.
Review 57:Nice basic facility. I liked the outside terrace allover the building.
Review 58:Very busy street fronting hotel, walk carefully.
Review 59:Location is very nice for zentrum. Very helpful staff.
Review 60:Nothing to dislike really
Review 61:Perfect...excellent staff..service...sleep...everything perfect
Review 62:staff are accomodating and willing to help
Review 63:I am a seasoned traveler it takes a lot to put me off but not this hotel which was good value
Review 64:This is small and peasant hotel which is very comfortable. The staff and reception were very helpful and polite The hotel has a great veranda walkway outside your room which gave an excellent view of Tbilisi and the exciting traffic which has to be studied The bar Tiffamys is great and relaxing bar staff fun to talk too,and good food. Don't be put off by the location it is a busy road complex outside the hotel but the rooms have AC and are very quite I will return again on business in a sort while It's not 5 stars but it worth 4 stars
Review 65:A complimentary bottle of water was only for the first night.
Review 66:The hotel was in good location within walking distance to major museums and old town just go down the hill behind the Opera Theatre. Staff spoke excellent English and helped me send books from the post-office to my counrty.
Review 67:The building is very old and not fit as a hotel first class No warm welcome Morning breakfast is very, very limited Reception area does not exceed twenty square meters The front of the hotel at all inappropriate Prices are very high relative to the degree of hotel The hotel is not worth more than two Star Old and the elevator is too small and has a high voice upward as if you train in the Old My question / Is there a professional committees in Tbilisi to assess the degree of hotel The answer / I do not think
Review 68:Only the Bathroom
Review 69:The lift goes up to 4th floor and there are steps to the 5th floor, soyou have to carry the heavy luggage while going up the stairs. The wifisignal was very weak in our room so we couldn't really use theinternet in the room. At the booking stage, the hotel got back to measking for a different credit card as they do not accept amex, but theydid this via personal emails and asked me to fill in a form rather thangoing through the booking.com system (which is what I was asked to do inmy previous bookings in such a case). This was rather frustrating and Ihad to contact to booking.com directly and explain the situation andtell them that I don't want to give my credit card details overemail, neither was I willing to fill in a form that gives a third partyto use my credit card details. I found this practice highly amateur anda hotel should never ask for credit card details of their clients overthe email. The booking.com system is good enough for managing thepayment methods in the most secure way possible.
Review 70:Very friendly and attentive staff. We had a brief problem with the hotwater and the reception immediately sent a handyman to get it checkedright after we called them. Good location, on a busy main road butsilent. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a balcony and it was verynice to get our for fresh air.
Review 71:Awful drain smell in bathroom, restaurant poor for evening meals.
Review 72:Helpful and attentive staff, comfortable room with good air on and well equipped bathroom.
Review 73:Something was leaking in the bathroom and there would be a huge puddle on the floor in the morning.
Review 74:Very well located with friendly staff and great room.
Review 75:Things to improve, perhaps its breakfast can improve a little by offering fresh fruit juices and a better omelette (it wasn't too good). As for the rest, nothing to complain and a lot to be grateful.
Review 76:Having been in several hotels in Tbilisi and many more in Georgia, I must say I wish we had known sooner about RiverSide Hotel. Simply the best because of so many reasons: charming welcome and attentive service, beautiful hotel (a classical Georgian old house utterly renewed to fulfil your expectations) and its room with excellent views (i recommend you should pick room number 402). Additional positive things of its location: it is located in front of a very popular Tbilisi restaurant, Old House, serving good Georgian food, as well as nearby the open market (an interesting market selling old and antiques daily); and also very close to Rustaveli Street -just some few minutes by foot-. Strongly recommended.
Review 77:I like the location cuz it's on the river and close to everything there.. I like the quality of servises there specially the recieption staff(Ciline,Marta,Reta)they were so polite and helpfull. The hotel was soo clean and mintinens was very good..
Review 78:poor lighting and no hangers in bathroom
Review 79:Nice and cozy hotel, convenient location and very courteous staff. Wonderful view from the window and terrace.
Review 80:The hotel is definitely not meeting the standard of a 4star hotel, which they claim to be. The falling down wallpaper in the corners of the entrance, the tiny hall, unfriendly staff, who are totally ignorant to your requests and even pretty rude at times. The hot water taking time to become hot when you want to take a shower, etc. The room was pretty big, but the bed was terrible. We booked a double bed and instead found ourselves on two separate mattresses put together, which where sliding apart all night long , creating a gap in the middle of the bed, so that I couldnt sleep properly all night.. Breakfast was also not very good. We came to breakfast quite early, but still were told that they have no yogurt left. No normal coffee and the pancakes totally cold.. So lots of other things were pretty terrible, which I cant recollect right now. Just gave you the overview briefly. So wouldn't recommend anyone to waste their money on this hotel..
Review 81:I like only balcony, from which I could see Sameba Cathedral in the distance. However balcony and all the windows were facing a noisy motorway..Not very pleasant experience really!!
Review 82:Bij het avondeten altijd zeggen, dat u de gangen apart wenst. Anderskomt alles tergelijk. If you order a 2 or 3 course dinner, always ask toget the courses separately. If not, you'll get them al together. That seems to be everywhere in Georgia the case.
Review 83:Vriendelijk personeel. Friendly staff
Review 84:No elevator to fifth floor, elevator door wants to chop hands off. Located on major thoroughfare with heavy traffic, complicated intersection, and no crosswalks. This makes the first couple of blocks a little dangerous, but once your past them it's nice. Lack coffee at breakfast. Overall positives far outweigh negatives.
Review 85:Very nice, clean rooms. New comfortable furniture. Beautiful views from balcony. Not far from many attractions. Professional, friendly staff. Breakfast and restaurant are fairly good not great.
Review 86:In the room photo there's a sofa but there isn't in our room, it isn't a problem since the room was spacious and clean
Review 87:the staff were nice & friendly, the location would be better if there's a bus stop in front of the hotel. Though the attractions can be reached by walking thru the hotel. Breakfast is good but basic, nice they have free water
Review 88:not located at the center of the city. located on A very noisy road but inside the hotel and rooms is completely quiet
Review 89:A small , very nice hotel. the rooms were very clean the reception and other staff were nice polite and helpfull
Review 90:Breakfast was not very appetising, I reccomend to go out and eat a nicehachapuri :)
Review 91:The stuff was very kind and helpful (despite they accused us to take twosmall towels with us, which were never been there in the first place)
Review 92:A bit noisy location. Also the sheets were never changed in all 6 days I stayed there. Not a big problem but still...
Review 93:Very central. You can walk to many tourist attractions. All renovated.
Review 94:It is on the side of the busiest road of Tbilisi. Even the windows are sound proof the noise from the street was annoying.
Review 95:The friendliness of the hotel was very good. Nice and tidy room with modern furniture. The reception helped a lot with all my requests (money change, places of interests, dining out)
Review 96:The hotel is old and feels dated. Needs renovation. Bad smell in the bathrooms. Located is an area is hard to explore by foot, since it is surrounded by high-speed roads
Review 97:Friendly staff
Review 98:Not much variety/choice on Evening Menu. Could be noisy from traffic although this didn't bother us it could be very off putting for some.
Review 99:Lovely hotel. Room clean and comfortable. Cleaned daily. Staff very cheerful and very helpful.
Review 100:Bad smell on the floor and in the room, poor breakfast. And I was very disappointed when they couldn't provide me with an iron, but offered to iron my clothers for money. Don't recommend.
Review 101:The terrace has a wooden floor, and it would be good to clean it moreoften. In front of hotel is a road with heaviest traffic, it verydifficult to cross the street, especially taking into account thedriving style of Georgians. It can be dangerous, if you are not quickenough:) It possible to reach the main places of interest (around OldMetekhi) on foot, but it is not very close, really. It took about 40minutes to reach there, and the same time to get back.I Think for olderpeople it can be a problem. There is not window in the room, only aglazed door to terrace, so if you wan to let in some fresh air, youshould always open this door. The coverlet on the bed was old, not veryclean, and even darned on reverse side. And hotel is rather expensive atthe same time. And as a coffee-lover I would prefer if they don'ttake 5 lari ( as far as I remember) for a cup of cappuccino... Anyway, Ibelieve that the beautiful staff of River Side will improve allmentioned bad things, because I really think, they are professionals.Wish them all the best!
Review 102:We stayed there for 4 nights in the beginning of May 2013. Theyorganized free pick up from the airport, It was very convenient, becausewe arrived really late - almost at 12 in the night. The staff is reallyvery nice and helpful. It's the best part about this hotel. Theysmile, they try to make all possible things for you and it makes youfeel very good and cozy. During our stay my friend had a Birthday, andwe were nicely surprised to receive a bottle of Georgian wine and platewith different fruits, as a present. The room was big and clean enough, there is a terrace all over the perimeter of the floor. There ispossible to sit, to smoke (if you like) and enjoy the view. Thebreakfasts were reach enough for us - tee, juice, milk, baked goods, salads, cheese etc. It's located near the Rustaveli Avenue and socalled "Dry bridge", where is situated the famous flea market.Across the street you can find the beautiful restaurant of traditionalGeorgian cuisine Old House. It is really worth to visit. And generally -Tbilisi is my this year discovery. If you have an opportunity - comethere and you will not regret!
Review 103:The staff was fantastic.Th door man negociated best prices with the taxidrivers. The reception open doors in the bank when the bankomat didn´t give me the money. The restaurant served breakfast at 2.30 when I have to go to the airport. A service I never got before. They were nice, friendly and service minded in all situations.
Review 104:This hotel provides everything you are looking for if you don't need to stay in a posh international hotel like Marriott: clean rooms, English speaking and service oriented staff, acceptable breakfasts, free wi-fi. If you can afford more than a hostel but don't want to spend unnecessary money, this is your choice. You shouldn't expect some sin luxury but it is average three star hotel like anywhere else in Europe. Especially the staff was excellent and very helpful which is the most important thing in the end of the day.
Review 105:The hotel is on very noisy street so you better ask for rooms on 3rd or 4th floor. These have balconies which block the noise. One big warning (which has nothing to do with the hotel): If you are planning to rent a car in Georgia stay miles away from NANIKO Rent-A-Car. These people gave us car with steering wheel on the right hand side (standard in Georgia is steering wheel on left hand side) without any warning, they didn't provide GPS navigation which was ordered and promised. The car was second hand wreck with 162 000 km clocked and probably smuggled from Japan because it still had stickers from Tokyo garage! When we brought the car back, they didn't want to give us cash deposit back (they wouldn't accept credit card) because they were saying that there are scratches on the paint and wanted us to CLEAN THE CAR. The scratches were completely invisible though. We called police and it took us over an hour to get at least part of the deposit back. We had to go and really clean car! It was really humiliating experience. Ask hotel staff for recommendation of suitable rent-a-car company. We should have done it!
Review 106:The hotel looks in reality exactly the same as on the pictures. You get what you see. It's no extravagant luxury but reasonable average three star hotel like anywhere else in Europe which provides everything you would expect. The staff were all extremely helpful which is the most important in the end of the day. The breakfasts were OK, there was lot of food and it was was easy to make tasteful selection. When we needed breakfast before they opened the restaurant, they prepared sandwiches for us. Receptionists always spoke good English. Knowledge of foreign language, service oriented staff and good breakfasts are not standard in Tbilisi in these days :-) but River Side has it all. Perfect choice if you don't need to stay at posh Marriott.
Review 107:Staying here was a big, big mistake and nobody from London SouthsideChamber of Commerce will ever stay here again. It was extremelydifficult for taxi drivers to find - they had never heard of it; therewere no shops nearby, it was a long walk - mainly uphill - to the towncentre; people complained on more than one occasion about absence of hotwater. And, to cap it all, the member of staff on duty when we left at4.00 am on 11th April was offensive and insolent to one of the group. This hotel does little credit to Booking.com
Review 108:Fortunately I did not stay here myself but at the Citadines, which wasexcellent and where we will stay on future visits to Tbilisi. Mycolleagues on this business visit had the misfortune to stay at RiverSide and will certainly never do so again.
Review 109:A brief description in the room on how to use the remote controls for the cable/tv would be helpul.
Review 110:I choose the hotel for the convenient location close to the city center and its good price. The staff -Irina, Christina and Zviad - was very helpful and nice. Despite the fact that is on an intensive traffic zone, the sound proof windows were very good. I would strongly recommend this hotel.
Review 111:excellent service and hospitality of staff rooms are clean best location, walking distance to the center of tbilisi and rustaveli ave.
Review 112:Very nice ,helpful and kind reception staff.
Review 113:The hotel was not what I expected it's 4 star but when I arrived there it's 2 star
Review 114:I like the location and the quite. Staff are very kind and respectful.
Review 115:nothing
Review 116:staff was willing to help
Review 117:We could not get an iron for the room, ironing service in hotel very expensive.
Review 118:Wifi service was extremely poor Elevator is not working well
Review 119:Great welcoming staff Great view
Review 120:Location, breakfast, room.
Review 121:Probably a bit too expensive given the location
Review 122:The staff were great
Review 123:Location and comfort.
Review 124:The hotel is expensive & small in size.
Review 125:I liked the staff support & lovely location.
