Reviews for Arlington Hotel O'Connell Bridge
Review 1:the lift very noisy at night, the vending machine was right outside the door and everytime someone came to it we could hear them at the machine
Review 2:the food was excellent, the staff friendly and very helpful.
Review 3:Initially we were given a room with two single beds and the staff quickly provided a different room. However the bed (well beds because it was two single beds pushed together) was extremely uncomfortable with lumps and bumps everywhere. It was very hard to get comfortable and when you get off a flight from New Zealand a decent bed is really important!!!
Review 4:Enjoyed the location
Review 5:The reminder phonecall approx 30 mins before checkout. Pointless & irritating to be honest.
Review 6:Room was very spacious, hotel was in a central location. Great irish dancing show in the hotel restaurant. Staff helpful and friendly. This is our 3rd stay and it gets better every time!
Review 7:Room was freezing when we arrived & rang reception & was told turn on the rad for the heating to come on. Taking into account the freezing weather outside it would have been nicer to come into a warm room
Review 8:The staff & how close it was to go shopping
Review 9:Ventilation noise loud when the window was open ("courtyard"-facing room on 2nd floor). Friends staying on 1st floor found noise coming from in-house show troubling.
Review 10:Great location. Room and hotel felt very comfortable. Excellent wifi (important). Would definitely stay here again. (on one of the upper floors)
Review 11:Tv was too small. But that's being very picky. No other negatives at all.
Review 12:The hotel and the staff were lovely. Cleanliness and room. Definitely stay there again. Very pleased.
Review 13:Double Bed was against the wall in what was described as a king size room.view was of an extractor fan,and room could do with a freshen up.
Review 14:Excellent location,5 mins from temple bar.nice bar for evening drinks, good choice at breakfast.staff were helpful especially at breakfast.nice atmosphere throughout the hotel.
Review 15:Could hear a lot of noise between rooms. Bathroom could have done with updating.
Review 16:Location and staff were excellent made for a great trip. Hotel room was clean.
Review 17:One side of the bed had a dip in the mattress; the mattress could be changed. (rm133).
Review 18:Best location in town. Great staff who organised an early check-in to enable us to prepare for a wedding. Really friendly throughout and great service from the waiting staff during meals. We had noisy neighbours, but the staff sorted it out very quickly and were very friendly in doing so. Old, but clean and warm building/room, with a great character. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.
Review 19:the room was awful. peeling ceiling and damp at the shower, rust on the rail, marks all over the walls, badly marked furniture, wouldn't stay in this room again.
Review 20:the staff were friendly and the location was good
Review 21:The weather who said it doesn't rain in Ireland.
Review 22:Well positioned and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bar and music just made the visit a treat. A great New Year venue.
Review 23:no complaints , stayed several times here and never had anything to moan about
Review 24:location excellent for shopping and using public transport so close to the hotel
Review 25:The room rate for one night was expensive and didn't include breakfast! Not sure if the room rates are always this high
Review 26:The location of the hotel was brilliant and just what we needed for the trip
Review 27:Reception staff left a lot to be desired, miserable lot who perhaps do not realise without customers they would not have a job
Review 28:Bed & Breakfast booked, breakfast best experience, good food with really lovely friendly staff.
Review 29:My boyfriend and I travelled down from Belfast for a 2 night stay at the Arlington hotel and we had the best time ever! Location was fab, room was perfect, drinks menu was class and staff were very helpful and welcoming! Would definitely recommend! 10/10
Review 30:The heater in the room stayed on all day and night. We had to sleep with the window open. The water in the shower was also cold in the mornings.
Review 31:Great location.
Review 32:Hotel very used and worn out especially the room and bathroom. All staff nice and helpful except the check in receptionist maybe she was just having a bad day,
Review 33:Good location room good size and quiet. Entertainment very good
Review 34:Someone coming into our room at 0730 again at 0830 waking us up and then again at 1130 without knocking when check out isn't until 1200.
Review 35:The reception staff and the size of the bed and powerful shower.
Review 36:there was drilling in the hallway at 8.45 in the morning on our first day .... not the best cleaning: hairs from previous visitors in bathroom.
Review 37:Perfect location! Everything you need is closeby. Optional to borrow an adapter if need (without extra cost).
Review 38:Hard working and efficient staff, particularly waitress in main bar called Alison. Excellently situated for lots of entertainment. Good food, will definitely be back for another visit.
Review 39:No lift to our room which was no problem for us but might be an issue for other travellers. Be sure to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel that is accessible by lift if you require it.
Review 40:Staff extremely helpful, our room on the 4th floor was not accessible by lift but staff were happy to take our bags and deliver them to our room. Room was huge and very spacious. Despite being above a bar, our room was extremely quiet and comfortable. Very central location, a minute's walk from O'Connell Street. No complaints.
Review 41:Did not have anything to dislike.
Review 42:The staff on reception and breakfast staff. Are so friendly and nice. Rooms are ideal. And best central hotel by far.which is why we book every year. And are already reserved for next year.
Review 43:As regular users of this hotel I have only praise for management and staff, The hotel is located in the center of town close to everything, the rooms are warm and comfortable, the food is first class and the staff are always friendly and helpful
Review 44:Ideal spot to stay if you are doing tourist things. We were visiting family but have stayed here several times before and know it is excellent. The staff are very helpful and polite.
Review 45:We were in Dublin for a break and also christmas shopping. The location of this hotel was excellent. We found that the accomodation was excellent absolutely spotless. We complement the owners /management because staff were oviously trained in the importance of skills such as friendliness and communication skills. The greatest asset that the Arlington has is its staff which include reception/ Bar/ resturant/ porters ..This was our first time in this particular hotel but when we return to Dublin we will use the Arlington.
Review 46:the room was a bit noise - something to do the water system - I think.
Review 47:All the staff were brilliant- the restaurant maitre-d was excellent - the ways that she dealt with people - she is a gem. The food was great for both dinner and breakfast.
Review 48:Room little bit noisy from road traffic when windows open but not unbearable.
Review 49:The price is brilliant for a hotel in a great location. Spacious clean room with massive bed! No hassle check in/check out. Live music in bar. On this occasion we didn't eat in the hotel but have done on previous visits and it was good. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
Review 50:Great hotel. Lovely atmosphere and staff were excellent! Very attentive and made sure that my special requirements for my room were met. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to Dublin.
Review 51:I did get lost at one point, maybe the stairs need to be labelled clearer. I stayed in room 118 and seemed to go up a wrong set of stairs.
Review 52:The staff were very friendly. They helped my sister with printing her boarding pass and helped with the radiator in our room. Very friendly.
Review 53:Amazing location, friendly staff, comfortable, clean, good food, vibrant pub, great value for money. Second time staying here and will definitely be back for more Irish hospitality !!!!
Review 54:only negative was the hot water taps.
Review 55:Location. The food was fab. Security great eg. card to go up in lift. Staff very friendly. The staff in the morning that were cleaning the rooms were very pleasant and cheerful.
Review 56:Could get noisey at weekends as large and busy bar. We went mid week and no problems. Would have been nice to have room at the front for view over the river.
Review 57:Staff always friendly and helpful.
Review 58:Felt expensive, and there was nothing included either (breakfast, parking, etc...). There was very little charm to be had in the hotel.
Review 59:The Location was UNBEATABLE.
Review 60:I booked this hotel on behalf of my parents, they said the hotel was in a great location, very comfy and friendly. They would stay there again if they went back to Dublin. The staff were friendly and looked after their bags before check in and after check out
Review 61:Room could do with decorating, but we'd rather the cheap price and excellent location than for a more expensive luxury fit out.
Review 62:Great price, and location. Room was nice, clean and tidy. Very pleased.
Review 63:The only downside was the view from our room and it's a shame there was no fridge in the room to keep our drinks cold.
Review 64:Couldn't fault our stay, the room was very comfortable, excellent location, friendly staff.
Review 65:N/A
Review 66:I like that it was so handy to everything Also that I was there for a concert and there was a shuttle bus from the hotel to the venue. Excellent service. ..
Review 67:Nothing
Review 68:Hotel was in a brilliant location in the centre of shopping area. Close to everything. Music in the evening and shuttle bus to our venue. Perfect weekend.
Review 69:No
Review 70:Staff outstanding and friendly and the breakfast staff (Carmel) went out of her way for me and made sure that I was looked after with Gluten free and at lunch the same it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in as regards gluten free and staff ware just amazing to explain any thing you asked then
Review 71:Only some minor updating refurbishment around the hotel nil else..... Very cosmetic.
Review 72:I stayed with a group of girlfriends from 28.11.2015-30.11.2015. Our room was very clean, and comfortable some bathroom facilities need refurbishing is shower poor flow. However, staff were unfailing in their responses to enquiries at reception, no problems booking transport etc. Always with a friendly manner. One person I must mention is Carmel who despite us unfortunately arriving for breakfast late on our last day, found it no trouble to still offer us breakfast ( two of us) and proceeded to coordinate cereal, bread etc without making us feel a nuisance. That's what hospitality us all about and I thank your staff for that we will return again in 2016 hopefully. Evening music great, food great.
Review 73:There is not a lot of insulation between walls. I was also next to a fire door, which could be heard every time it was opening and closing.
Review 74:Location is perfect. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is excellent.
Review 75:The room was a bit tired and grubby looking especially the bathroom. Having spent €280 for two nights with no breakfast included I would have expected the rooms to be nicer. It also states free toiletries but you only get soap!
Review 76:Staff were lovely and the bar area and downstairs were really nice
Review 77:Hotel room radiator wasn't working far to hot had to sleep with balcony door open which resulted in no sleep for 2 nights. The second night I wrang down and was told someone would come up so after 45 minutes no one had come up I rang down again and was told he turned off the boiler so the radiator should cool down but it didn't so we had no choice but to open the balcony again and got no sleep again from the noise. On checkout was asked if everything was ok and I explained this and all I got was my apologies not good enough!!!
Review 78:Location was great close to everything
Review 79:The hotel, which I have stayed in many times, is looking drab and in need of a very good clean and update.
Review 80:The position is perfect for a short visit to explore central Dublin.
Review 81:Not a bad experience. I booked the hotel because you had iris dancing. It was something I have wanted to see. I understood it was free and in the hotel bar. I was a bit disappointed.
Review 82:Was it was at the heart of the city. We will return.
Review 83:Lovely room very clean. Has everything in room: kettle with tea n coffee, hairdryer: iron and iron board. Restaurant and bar served lovely food. Waiters and waitresses are at hand.
Review 84:Not much decor needs a touch up..! Hated being horded by a bouncer to a corner for residents after closing..!
Review 85:Location , residents late bar , live entertainment , great breakfast , good value, looks like an informal family run business which I like..!
Review 86:No lift
Review 87:Very nice and kind staff, always ready to please every need. They gave us a wonderful, big and panoramic room overseeing the river, satisfying our e-mailed request. Wonderful position, near Temple bar, near shopping centre, near bus stop for the airport. I would definitely stay there again.
Review 88:A little bit of noise up until about 11pm, but I expect this is limited to certain rooms.
Review 89:Excellent location. Good sized room (twin) and very clean. Very good value for money.
Review 90:Pillows not very comfortable & tea at breakfast was not drinkable.
Review 91:Staff excellent food delicious except tea for our breakfast next morning..nite show fantastic.
Review 92:Looks a bit run down, needs a revamp.
Review 93:Fantastic location, lovely staff, generally clean although the hotel is in need of a revamp. For a weekend trip with friends I would definitely stay here again.
Review 94:~The bed and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable.
Review 95:The room was spacious and clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Facilities, entertainment and food was excellent.
Review 96:Nothing really, but the bathroom was a bit " tired". And the bed a bit hard. ( but I'm being really picky! )
Review 97:Location, staff, very quiet rooms, small hotel, price
Review 98:Went for a 50th birthday, the staff was so helpful they even arrange a cake for my partner. Nothing was to much trouble. Best breakfast in Ireland. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a fantastic time ?
Review 99:Not alot of toiletries. Bit noisy in the mornino from the road outside but would definitely stay again.
Review 100:Excellent location at a reasonable price, food was lovely and staff were very pleasant.
Review 101:way overpriced (£192 for one night; and did not even include breakfast!! hotel facilities nothing special. Wont be going back.
Review 102:Location in Dublin very good.
Review 103:Great hotel for the price. Centrally located, clean and well kept. Loved the bar, wasn't at all like other hotel bars and the entertainment at night was good.
Review 104:Comfortably room with king size bed. Excellent position close to Temple Bar. Very recommended ask for a room not close to the hotel'S pub (could be noisy)
Review 105:I loved everything about my stay staff very nice and helpful...couldn't find one bad thing to say about the place. I will be staying there on all my trips to Dublin
Review 106:Absolutely nothing I say here should be thought of as taking away for our stay but if I was to be picky I'd say a only two small things which didn't affect the trip stay whatsoever but the tv remote wasn't the one that came with the tv so we had to manually change the channels and the iron wasn't working, both of these were practically void for us as we were out of the room for the most part.
Review 107:Incredible location for an unbelievable price, huge room with huge queen size bed. The girl who booked us in was fantastic, she asked about our trip, if we needed any help or directions, really wish more hotel staff were like this!
Review 108:Stayed in the hotel the 14th of October for a concert in the Olympia. Location is amazing. Just hopped off the aircoach from cork and it was right beside the bus stop and O'Connell Street is only 10 seconds from the door. Staff were helpful, rooms were big and spacious and not noisy and the bathroom was clean. Perfect for any type of stay in Dublin as the location is perfect for concerts and shopping and it's good value for value.
Review 109:On our 3rd night, a Friday night, there was quite a lot of noise from out side and also a thumping noise. ?disco which made sleep difficult. Your type of traveller options above do not have our option which is Mother and daughter.
Review 110:Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was not included. We ate out 2 mornings but had breakfast in the hotel dining room the 3rd morning. This was extremely good value for money and we would have been better to have had breakfast in the hotel each morning. Good bar.
Review 111:The bed me and my partner found uncomfortable, it being a double but made up of two singles the bed kept separating during the night, very little sleep. No lock on bathroom door, bad reception on TV, ridiculously small shower which varied in temperature. Luckily however we had a 3Rd floor room so very little noise during the night
Review 112:The location was good and staff were very helpful, food was adequate for bar food
Review 113:Room directly above the restaurant, so it was rather noisy in the evening
Review 114:Perfect location, within walking distance to most of the city's attractions. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. Good breakfast too, and very nice staff!
Review 115:Night porter was extremely unpleasant and has no people skills.
Review 116:Brilliant stay and treated very well by all staff (Eugene) special mention for his friendliness.
Review 117:The toilet didn't flush very well.
Review 118:The staff members were the best thing about this hotel. They were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was excellent for the price that we paid. I'd definitely go back to this hotel if I'm ever in Dublin again.
Review 119:the missing presence of a toilet brush
Review 120:-breakfast service and staff -the surprisingly lively pub and basement entertainment, and, given the noise of halloween festivities in this centrally located establishment, a calm and silent retreat room on the 4th floor.
Review 121:Room a bit shabby e.g tiles broken, furniture scuffed and carpet worn away but for the price, it's a bargain!
Review 122:Fantastic location and helpful staff.
Review 123:The noise of the building next door. I'm not sure if it was a warehouse but it was extremely noisy throughout the night and in the morning.
Review 124:The location was really convenient for exploring the centre.
Review 125:Great location! Right in the town near lots of pubs, restaurants and shops! Breakfast was lovely- all you can eat and lovely bar in the hotel with live music!
Review 126:Original room was on the third floor, and not accessible via lift. Having said that, on our asking for another room, the staff where very understanding and helpful and arranged a transfer without any fuss.
Review 127:Central location - within easy walking distance of all the sights and attractions. Good hearty food. Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 128:Hot Tap did not work and I could not take a shower, lucky we also had the room next door for the kids, so used their shower.. which was very good.
Review 129:Location is awesome and the staff.. the show is also great and well worth watching.
Review 130:There was a lack of hot water both in the morning and evening. The toilet was loose and needed to be fitted correctly.
Review 131:Good central location, easy to find and handy for all bus routes. Food was of good quality.
Review 132:Only fault is I booked it through a web site ( booking.com) and didn't get breakfast with the price I paid so next time it will be a instead phone call to the hotel this was our second year staying in the Arlington
Review 133:Lovely friendly staff and nice and relaxing child friendly
Review 134:Rooms were quite tired looking and a bit smelly. Noise from outside traffic was very loud from about 5am, better to stay at back of hotel rather than having a river view!
Review 135:Location was excellent, staff very friendly, good value stay and rooms were huge!
The Fine Print
The hotel recommends the Jervis Street Car park on Swifts Row – your ticket will need to be validated at the front desk prior to departure for the discount to apply when paying the cashier at the parking lot.
