Reviews for Meltemi Village Hotel
Review 1:The size of the shower in the bathroom way too small
Review 2:Everything was brilliant food at the hotel was very tasty too. Prices were good for food & drinks
Review 3:The photos of the pool area online are manipulated in a way that makes it seem bigger than it is. Overall upkeep of vegetation is poor. It looks unkept, it wouldn't take much to make it look just that bit tidier and give the feel that someone actually cares for the place
Review 4:The room was small but clean and we didn't spend much time in it anyway.
Review 5:Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was a good assortment A very clean and well kept property
Review 6:Shower had plastic curtains which always sticks, shower holder wouldn't hold steady & w/c was just too small for comfort. (still, I'd go again!)
Review 7:Staff were quite literally the kindest I've ever experienced. Above & beyond! Be sure to get a massage by the beach
Review 8:Our Greece SIM card did not work at all in this area of the island. Wifi also never worked in our room (1st floor). You'd have to go into the reception or pool area to get service which was inconvenient as wifi is important these days. Also, a bit far from Fira (25 minutes drive) and another 25 minutes added to Oia. This location is good for the beach in Perissa. The shower was also extremely small and covered with only a curtain so water sprayed everywhere every time we showered. We had a good stay but probably would stay somewhere else next time.
Review 9:Within a few minutes walk to Perissa Beach. Lots of bars and restaurants along the way leading up to the beach. Lots of selection for daily breakfast that was included in our stay. Staff was helpful and kind.
Review 10:the pool is fantastic and very large. Location is extremely close to public bus stop, Perissa city and beach within a short walking distance, and nice bars around. Quiet, simple rooms with small balconies. Wonderful staff!
Review 11:No bad experiences just a little more fresh fruit for breakfast.
Review 12:Excellent staff - receptionists, morning and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable room with all that I required.
Review 13:rooms could be a bit cleaner. there was dust on table and lamp
Review 14:wonderful room with jacuzzi on our small private garden (we had the maisonette) breakfast with traditional products black beach really close to the hotel the whole hotel was a beautiful garden with private rooms
Review 15:Slightly hard bed Iffy Wi fi signal
Review 16:Overall style and location Friendly helpful staff Very attractive pool area Suite with private courtyard and jaccuzzi
Review 17:Well located, reception staff was excellent and extremely helpful. even help me to make my bookings 4 activities while I was there including making phone calls. Junior suite had excellent private courtyard with jacuzzi.
Review 18:We were 6 persons and stayed in the villa which was just 15m from the sea front along side beach front restaurants. Great location and had use of hotel facilities too. Hotel located about 500m from sea front. Manolis very helpful and arranged transfer from airport and also to port. All staff very friendly and welcoming. Also received free use of 4 sun beds and 2 umbrellas on beach which made things easier and had free pass to water park
Review 19:i stayed at the honeymoon suit and i never can reach to wifi coverage at my room.
Review 20:the location of hotel was very good. I read on every comment that the best village of the island is Oia before my trip. But now i'm so happy for stayed at Perissa. I rented a car and saw Oia, that's all. But in perissa i swam, ate and saw every place of island.
Review 21:Wow beautiful meltemi. We stayed there twice last year as it was so fab. This year we booked a hotel in Kamari but missed meltemi so much ... We went to stay overnight. We stayed in a beautifully refurbished room and the great staff hadn't changed! Their warm and professional manner was still the same. Hope to visit again soon and see Roy and Despina! bobby and Jacquie
Review 22:Only thing I would say is that the wifi at times was slow bordering on unusable so if internet access is a must on holiday (which it isn't for everybody) then this may frustrate you a bit.
Review 23:Firstly the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough to help you. The pool area was also beautiful. we also liked the fact the hotel wasn't absolutely huge, this definitely contributed to a very chilled atmosphere.
Review 24:Shower was a little small and filled very quickly and it was difficult to escape the curtain.
Review 25:Staff were excellent and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Pool was beautiful.
Review 26:It would be great to extend the wifi out to all rooms.
Review 27:The staff at Meltemi were outstanding. So welcoming and helped us through everything we needed during our stay, with nearly 30 of our friends and family staying for our wedding, we are so lucky that we chose Meltemi as our hotel. We loved the pool, the new rooms are fabulous and we stayed in the honeymoon suite for the 2nd week which was amazing!
Review 28:The staff were very helpful and very friendly, rooms where cleaned daily and were kept tidy. The pool area was nice and also had a reasonable lunch menu. Right across the road there was an excellent cocktail bar called Dorians Bar. Would also recommend Nomas restaurant and Tranquillos down on the beach front.
Review 29:The breakfast selection could have been better.
Review 30:I can't say enough how helpful and nice of the staffs are. They go extra miles to make sure the guests get everything they need during the stay. The hotel is located right by the bus station. Only a few minutes walk to the beach. Lots of great restaurants. It was a perfect vacation!
Review 31:1) Lagging wifi.2) small bathrooms with even smaller showers with toilets standing right beside. After shower - everything around is wet!
Review 32:Very friendly staff! Nice location with 2-5 min walk to every place ofinterest (beach, shop, bars, etc.)Actually, very good place in EVERY way except: 1) lagging wifi. 2) small bathrooms with even smaller showers with toilets standing right beside. After shower - everything around is wet! Apart from this two things - good place to stay)
Review 33:We loved our stay. One minor complaint was that in the superior room, the bathroom was a 'wet-room' and as such after every shower the floor was soaking wet. Also, the plunge pool was great to have but we didn't go in it because it was too cold (probably because it was so early in the season). Two very minor things- would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 34:Staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good. The pool was lovely. Overall, a great stay!
Review 35:Bathroom really tight. Having shower problem as water went all over floor. Also drained away very slowly. Big crack in sink
Review 36:Pool area. Balcony off of bedroom.
Review 37:Breakfast wasn't great (the bear minimum) and Wi-Fi in the rooms barely worked at all.
Review 38:Friendly staff (incredibly helpful, especially the reception manager), decent location and lovely suite with Jacuzzi...well worth the extra few notes to upgrade.
Review 39:None of there own making
Review 40:Always on hand to help in any situation, friendly and courteous with good local knowledge of all restaurants, bars and main attractions.
Review 41:Wifi signal was a bit hit and miss but that's being overly picky as the rest of the facilities and staff were perfect.
Review 42:Everything was convenient, clean and friendly. I was the first guest to stay in room 42, a brand new studio room that was finished to a really high standard.
Review 43:Bathroom was very unpleasant. Old facilities.Toilet seat need to be changed. We requested to see the double room that we originally booked. After seeing that room we felt much better. Because the double room was very old, dim and small. Wifi didn't work at all. Location is not that convenient, 800 meters from the bus stop that we dropped off in Perrisa.
Review 44:Staff there were fantastic and welcoming. Got upgrade to a studio but still a little bit disappointed with this 4 star hotel. Great pool tho. Great breakfast .
Review 45:Wi-Fi did not work at all during the 3 days. The shower area is too small and water pressure is weak...
Review 46:The lady who checked us in was very helpful and kind, same as the guys at breakfast. The hotel itself is very nice.
Review 47:Little to complain about
Review 48:Excellent service great breakfast set back from street so quiet, nice deep pool, bus stop to Fira close.definitely value for money
Review 49:nothing to say.
Review 50:Excellent very friendly staff, upgraded our room to room with Jacuzzi. Excellent breakfast. Free wi fi, nice pool with unbelievable view. Definitely worth staying!!!!!! Thank you.
Review 51:I really really love this place. The staff are all accommodating. We stayed on the family suite, and we totally love the place. It is cozy and comfortable. You will really feel that you are in Santorini. The individual design of the villas are adorable. The hotel is near the bus stop so it is very easy to travel back and forth to the town center. Highly recommended place.
Review 52:There is not too much solar light in the rooms. they don't allow to take your own drink to the swimming pool.
Review 53:Close to the beach Great swimming pool and loungers. Nice breakfast: including continental breakfast + british breakfast + greek specialities. We had an incident in the hotel and the owner helped us and offered us some extra things, so we are thankful with him.
Review 54:the half bath with a hand shower and no shower curtain was very uncomfortable especially for my husband who is 6 '. there was always water on the floor after he used the shower
Review 55:The breakfast was excellent and the staff very kind and helpful especially Roy in reception. Location very good, everything within walking distance
Review 56:The staff were excellent, polite and helpful all the time, regardless of the time. Considering what we paid for our stay, i would deem it very good value for money. The lady working on the reception in the day time was, in my humble opinion, what every hotel needs!
Review 57:The room was very small for the price we paid. The sound insulation was very bad, we were systematically woken up but the cleaners early in the morning.
Review 58:The scenery (Garden, swimming pool)
Review 59:The beds are a little hard. The mattress is on a concrete base!
Review 60:Lovely, quiet room. Great staff who were very friendly and eager to please. Really lovely pool area
Review 61:To get to the car park you had to walk through a Sandy dirt field-- for whatever reason the path stops parts way-- and then climb over a small (2 foot high) wall to get to your car. This was a pain with a stroller esp. as it meant it was caked in that sandy dirt getting into and out of our car. There was also another area of the resort that appeared to be an abandoned (derelict) kiddie play area which detracted from the feel of the resort. They should either remove it and convert to gardens or fix it up. Didn't like the overall location of the resort- it was off the so called Main Street in Perissa (a scrubby street with lots of traffic) about 10 mins walk to the beach. The walk there, while not far, was along more little lanes with lots of empty weedy lots. We were sorry we hadn't stayed at the other beach resort on Santorini (Kamari). It was more developed but also a lot prettier than Perissa. Perissa was a lot more rough around the edges with less to do as well (fewer shops etc). We also (mistakenly) thought this resort would be on the beach so finding that it wasn't was a let-down. Didn't really like the almost holiday-camp feeling of being in a very small resort filled with mostly English people who tend to stare at you over breakfast or by the pool! Not really our cup of tea. Breakfast wasn't great. Just OK. This is essentially a mid-range hotel with the majority of people staying in regular rooms but we were paying for a luxury class hotel (4.5/5 star) for our room. If you can handle that (and the mix of clientele) then you might like it here. It was definitely a step down from the place we stayed on Mykonos which was the same price.
Review 62:This is a small resort but is quite pretty with all the Cycladic style white-painted buildings and bougainvillea growing around. Pool area is quite nice. We stayed in a junior suite at the back of the resort in a more secluded area which had an outdoor terrace and built-in (unheated) spa tub.
Review 63:The breakfast wasn't the best I've had. The water pressure in the room was very low, especially if neighbors were also showering!
Review 64:Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice size pool. Good location very near the beach. The hotel setting is very pretty and well maintained.
Review 65:The internet is on/off a lot and the strength is not that good... Breakfast could be a bit better.....
Review 66:Location is good in the middle of Perissa, close to the beach.... Friendly staff that took care of many needs.
Review 67:The sign up front on the main road was obstructed by the foliage, was very hard to read, and we had trouble finding the hotel.
Review 68:The breakfast was marvelous, so we will have to go on a diet. We had restful sleep and the access to the beach was very easy. We enjoyed our stay there a lot. The staff was very friendly and worked very hard to meet our wishes.
Review 69:Only criticism is the shower is tiny!!! If you are a larger person u will have trouble showering without getting water all over the place or have the shower curtain stick to u whilst u shower.
Review 70:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was about 2 bus rides (1 hour from Oia) and about 10 minute walk from Perissa beach. Lots of local restaurants in the area and souvenir shops.
Review 71:Nothing
Review 72:This hotel is in a great spot. 5 min walk to one of the best beaches and endless options for restaurants. The hotel is super clean, the pool was amazing and the staff super helpful and friendly. Don't pass this one up.
Review 73:The hotel is a bit old. It is rated as a 4 stars hotel, but the double rooms are really 2 stars and the studio are 3 stars. The pool is not very clean. The water coming out from the taps and showers is salted and after a few days you really long for a proper shower. Overall however the hotel is cheap, so if you do not pretend too much, you will be almost fine.
Review 74:We booked largely in advance and requested a nice room with a nice view. Upon arrival we were given a truly awful room, very small, with an extremely narrow shower and toilet. We complained and we were moved the day thereafter into a bigger room in a separate building with no extra charge: we can say this resolved the problem we had with the room, hence the the high evaluation given to the staff. The staff at the reception and at the pool was also extremely helpful and very kind with us all the time, with good advices for excursions and places to see. The price you pay corresponds to what you get. The hotel is really just a few minutes walk from the biggest and nicest beach in Santorini, where you can also fnd bars, restaurants, shops etc and all of the nightlife. The bus stop is just outside the hotel, which is good if you wish to move from Perissa to visit the rest of the Island (there is however only one bus going to Fira, the may town on the Island).
Review 75:Since you can't drink the tap water it would make things a lot easier if bottled water was provided in the fridge in each room - either free or for a fee.
Review 76:The pool area is beautiful and perfect when the black sand gets too hot down at the beach.
Review 77:The fact that it had a good rating in booking.com and the photos showed a really boutique type of hotel was what was so deceiving about this hotel. They either used a very good photographer or those photos where really old. On the contrary this hotel is not anything as what it appears to be. Firstly this hotel is not up to a 4 star standard, in fact it would battle to get a 3 star in todays standards. We rented two rooms and both rooms were really tired and in a big need of a renovation. Fittings where old and rusted and the television was an old 9 inch analogue type that could not properly tune in on any channel. The shower is so small that it hardly fits one person in it. The plastic curtain around the whole shower keeps sticking on you and we are by no means big by any way. Needless to say a lot of water ends up on the bathroom floor. In one of the rooms we asked for an extra bed which the staff where happy to oblige. When we got back from the beach the bed was there but it was a really old fold up bed that was heavily rusted. There was no way we would leave our daughter sleep on that so asked them to take it away. The breakfast was included in the price but it would have been best they did not serve any breakfast at all. Not only was the selection limited but the quality was really poor. We tried to eat there on the first day and even gave it a shot the second day. After that we went out for breakfast for the rest of the holiday. The worst experience was the beach towels they offered. On arrival they gave us good descent towels which we used at the beach and the pool area for three days. On the fourth day I went to ask for new towels which they gave me straight away. They were all folded up and I picked them up and rushed off to the car. When we reached the beach we took out the towels and to our horror we found that the towels they gave us were not fit to be used as mops never mind as a towel.
Review 78:The aircon worked and it had a nice pool area. Free wifi but it has a bad connection to the internet and does not work in all locations of the hotel.
Review 79:The hotel was gorgeous and clean and the staff were lovely. The pool is big and relaxing and the breakfast buffet had a good spread. The room was a little small but that's about it. Enjoyed our stay!
Review 80:We enjoyed an amazing Honeymoon staying at Meltemi Village. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was beautiful and reasonably priced compared to other hotels on the island. This was due to the location being a bit further out from the main centre of Fira but if you plan to explore the island like we did, you can hire a quad bike and the location provide easy access to the north and south of the island. There are plenty of restaurants in Perissa on the beachfront and main street so you don't have to leave the town if you don't want to. The Meltemi Bar is located at the front of the hotel with reasonably priced drinks. The room was cleaned well every day. The Buffet Breakfast had a good selection.
Review 81:Small room & too small shower stall, not enough water pressure in shower.
Review 82:5 min to perrisa beach, bus stop next door, great food, great staff, special thanks to Roy in reception.
Review 83:From the time of the booking we received excelellent services whether for airport shuttle etc etc. At arrival in the middle of the night the receptionist did all he possibly could to greet us in a wonderful manner. The staff was with no exception friendly, efficient and most accomodating, a place to revisit for sure!
Review 84:Small room if it is standart. And i was expacting little bit more present for our Wedding, and my Birthday, for example to get a better room. As i have read on tripadvisor. The safe is not in the room.
