Reviews for Racey Byrnes B&B

Review 1:Draughty Windows, creaky floors, felt like was in a room in a horror film, birds and animals out back making noise early in mornin. Food wasnt appitising looking. Old drunks still in bar when you go down for breakfast not worth 80euro per night

Review 2:It was close to the hotel that we were attending a wedding

Review 3:The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was very comfortable and had lots of facilities , the breakfast was delicious and the building was in a great location. The weekend we stayed for was perfect.

Review 4:Outrageously overpriced. Outdated fittings. No bedside lamp. Lamp not working. Had to move bed to find a socket. Hair dryer not working. Dreadful breakfast. Fruit and yoghurt has yet to be introduced to Racey's. Never again

Review 5:Location fine. Staff quite nice though woman on breakfast duty stressed dealing with small number of guests.

Review 6:The B&B is above a pub (you literally pay for your room on arrival at the bar!) the rooms are very basic - no wardrobe, no bedside lamp. The hair dryer didn't work. The toilet seat was broken. Breakfast was very limited - cereal or full irish. No fruit or yogurts or anything like that. The staff member serving breakfast was quite rude to both us and the Spanish family next to us. They said that they had explained yesterday that their daughter was coeliac and wondered whether the B&B had managed to provide something for her today. The staff member's look of disgust and confusion said it all. When I finally got my eggs and bacon they were a pale watery disappointment. Overall for €80 per night I feel robbed.

Review 7:Central location. The staff member who showed us to our rooms was very nice.

Review 8:They had no account of my booking. Musty smell all over the place. It's situated in a bar which I knew nothing about. Did not get a salute from the landlady. Breakfast not served until 9.00 am to 11.00 am, which I did not know either. I was going to The Ploughing Championship, which was my reason for going nearby, I told them that but there was no facility for even a cup of tea let alone breakfast. I had to leave myself out by a lane way open a small door to climb out, and pull it out after me. I was on my own and I paid €80.00 for a sleep and one of the staff kindly offered me a cup of tea while I was waiting for the landlady to appear . I could not close the curtains properly because there were so many spare hooks on the rail in the centre it left the curtains gaping on top. I have taken pictures to prove what I am talking about. To me it was my worst ever experience ever and a total and utter rip off. I did ask the landlady if she could do any better than €80.00 and she said no that , that was what I had booked and she had to pay Bookings . com as well. If I was to give the place a marking it would be a zero.

Review 9:The only good thing was the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. Got a half hearted apology for the confusion.

Review 10:Beds

Review 11:Needs an update overall could hear pigeons whilst sleep. Bed frames were kept with brackets. Could feel breeze from a rotten window and no shampoo or soap in shower. I paid 80uros for just 1 night. Place were kept clean but the beds were very uncomfortable. Staff were very friendly.

Review 12:Staff were very nice, great fun, and very welcoming. Interesting old property, very kooky with lots of history and locals. Not a place for those loving the sterile chain hotels, this place has great character. Will return.

Review 13:Had a drink in bar before meeting friends for occasion later in evening. Could spend hours looking at ceiling, high shelves etc. All sorts hanging up. They have an avary outside with a load of budgies and never seen one as clean. Radio on as company for them too.

Review 14:At breakfast we weren't asked about our breakfast preferences (e.g. no mushrooms) but still lovely

Review 15:We were in the Oak room and it ves very comfortable, lovely atmosphere throughout.
