Reviews for Hotel City Park
Review 1:Wet towels; i can understand as it was during the winter season and it must be difficult to dry the towels, even then the towels should be dry!! We specifically asked for a quiet room and when we reached the hotel they gave us a room in the front on the 1st floor, it was horrid! Too much noise and a stink smell of coal. Upon complaining they moved us to the 4th floor which was much quieter, however stunk of something else. They came and sprayed something which eventually took away the smell. I will still return however I know how to handle them next time. The hotel taxi services a little more expensive, would advise to just walk down the road (a few steps) and get a taxi - it'll be cheaper.
Review 2:Location was great and food was excellent, especially the morning breakfast. We also ordered pakora's separately during afternoon tea and it was delicious - way too many onion pakora's though =/. 5 minute walk from the temple and not too far from other main area. i would absolutely return.
Review 3:The room was a little noisy at night and there was no safety deposit box. Neither the hot water supply nor the Wi-Fi were completely reliable.
Review 4:The location provided easy access to the Golden Temple, restaurants, fast food outlets, western style cafes and the local bazaars. Breakfast was adequate rather than good. The staff, on the whole, were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, well-appointed, modern in style and represented good value for money. Despite a number of minor issues - noise, hot water supply and intermittent Wi-Fi - I would be happy to stay in the hotel again and to recommend it to friends.
Review 5:Everything was good. Booking.com said breakfast not included but it was.
Review 6:Great location close to the Golden Temple, quiet, comfortable and helpful staff. Excellent value for money.
Review 7:the cost of food is expensive in lines with 5 star hotel, and there are no conveyance available from the hotel, the staff at the hotel would charge you extra to get one..
Review 8:the location at the heart of the city
Review 9:The bath room has a glass wall common with the rest of the room this give no privacy. The curtain which was rolled up when pulled was found to be very dirty and moldy. So it was best left rolled up. This could be a problem for some. But we did not mind Open bathroom :) The room had NO view at all. We were in 208. When curtain was pulled from window we saw the wall of adjacent building only 3 feet away. But that's OK since we did not have time to be in room for long.
Review 10:The hotel was mostly clean. We enjoyed the free breakfast of good paraathas, puri choley. Because it was very close to the temple we went to the golden temple many times during our visit. Overall great value!
Review 11:A little lack of detail as far as housekeeping was concerned. They forgot the hand towels, did not replenish the toiletries, huge amount of mildew on the shower curtains.
Review 12:Location was excellent, staff attentive, could do with a little training, however.
Review 13:The facilities are pathetic. The housekeeping services are poor. Even the attitude of staff is bad. In fact we booked a cab to wagah border and we were never informed about toll price or parking expenses.
Review 14:Only good thing is location.
Review 15:- bad wifi signal (only good in the bathroom which is not so convenient) - not all amenities announced are present - poor cleaning - room view was a water tower in the building next to the hotel - if paying by card ask to see the value before they press enter or else you only get the screen with the pin (we had to ask multiple times and the reaction was like if it was a strange request to see the value before accepting the payment) - after check out we stored our bags in the hotel for a few hours. when we went back to get them heard a loud noise coming from inside the storage room consistent with a bag falling in the floor. Moments after when lifting one of the bags to leave the hotel we realized the top handle was broken making it impossible to lift it in the air. At first the receptionist completly ignore us, we had to insist several time for him to call someone else who wasn't very helpful either. We also asked for them to call the worker for him to explain what happened and to apolozige not telling us anything but they kept saying he was 'out of duty' althought less than 5 minutes had passed. They then 'offered' a rickshaw for 70Rp saying it was a discount (but it wasns't as that was the value we paid for the some journey in the opposite direction) and told us the next day would see the video feed to understand what happened...it's been more than one week and they never bothered to say anything or compensate for the damage.
Review 16:location - near golden temple, jallianwalla bagh, bazaars and restaurantes
Review 17:Towels are not clean, Access key issue, no complimentary water in rooms. Hot water is luke warm.
Review 18:Average budget hotel amenities. Not so great or not so bad.... Staff is helpful.
Review 19:Wifi difficulties - despite creating a password for 2 pax, only 1 pax can use the wifi. We had to call reception many times for this. And as the password lasts for 24 hours, we had to go through the whole exercise every day with different staff on duty. The mattress was too soft. Expensive room service menu.
Review 20:Location near to Golden Temple. New building.
Review 21:The restaurant is good, but can always improve a bit more.
Review 22:Excellent location, very clean hotel, beautiful interior decor, great ambiance and wonderful staff.
Review 23:The staff was very nice, but not very good at their job. They forgot to give me towels, toilet paper... shampoo... Usually in India the hotel gives a complimentary water, in this case they give a jar with water... not clear if it was fresh... if it was mineral water. The room didn't have a minibar. Also they charged me a "parking" fee in advance to get to the airport, and when there, the taxi driver refused to take me in... after complaining, finally they did it.
Review 24:The hotel is located just 2 blocks from the Golden Temple and the room was pretty new. The hotel overall is good, they just need improve the quality of the service and keep the maintenance.
Review 25:Cleanliness - bed was not properly cleaned and kept
Review 26:Location - Near to the Golden Temple. Only issue is as its new hotel many people are unaware of it and its in a small lane difficult for cars to get there
Review 27:TV remote was not working..... And despite two requests, was not attended to. The pillows are much too thick though soft. No hand towels concept- even in their Executive rooms!! Wifi erratic .... Though seems to be a management issue of careless staff at front desk. Had to ask for password thrice!!!
Review 28:Rooms were new and good. Nothing to complain there- was happily recommend it for visitors to the Darbar Sahib.
Review 29:Free wifi was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel but when we were at the hotel the internet connection did not work. For us this was a problem since we needed internet for booking the next hotel and transport. We asked for compensation but the hotel was not willing to compensate.
Review 30:Location, on walking distance from the Golden Temple.
Review 31:Some rear side rooms are facing a wall with no view at all. I had requested road side room while booking, but it was not provided.
Review 32:The Hotel is very well located for travelers to Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. Its clean and neat place.
Review 33:Wifi was terrible, staff hover around for tips, reception men unhelpful- the lady is the exception. Overpriced and increases substantially for an unbeknown reason. No bottled water despite the ridiculous amount- mouldy soap and a shower cap is the extent of the toileteries.
Review 34:You stay here only for location, cable TV, nice bathroom
Review 35:Sheet and pillow cases were not changed from previous guests. I asked for fresh ones and got a damp sheet. I had to request again. White towels are grey and torn. Wifi was out of service for 2 days. Local call was not allowed because hotel wants guest to use its expensive travel arrangement.
Review 36:Walking distance to the Golden Temple and fine restaurants.
Review 37:My car was banged in the parking and there was no help from the hotel staff even though they had a security person for parking and a camera . Nobody was even willing to help. Had booked 2 executive rooms for my family. The rooms were not together and were of different sizes so I guess one was a lower category room inspite of me paying for both executive rooms
Review 38:You will have to walk 5-10 min to the hotels with your luggage as taxi's are not allowed in the premise.Small rooms, expensive room service,
Review 39:Nice Location if you want to visit Golden temple ,Jalianwala Baug & some Well known food joints.
Review 40:Cleanliness left something to be desired - perhaps we were unlucky with our rooms, because the common areas presented well and staff were helpful.
Review 41:Location, location, location. A short walk from the Golden Temple and slap bang in the middle of the historic centre. As such it presented good value for money.
Review 42:Nada. This place was fantastic.
Review 43:1. Room size 2. Comfort of beds 3. Spacious washroom I would definitely recommend this to travelers who are planning a short trip to Amritsar. Excellent location allows easy access to the Golden Temple and the nearby places of worship. The staff are friendly, helpful, courteous and are willing to go the extra mile to call in courier services, taxi services, etc to your doorstep. It saved us the trouble of pre-booking taxis via agents. The bellboys, watchmen and concierge were ever so willing to lend a hand, provide advice and guidance on places to visit, and suggesting ways to get to important landmarks.
Review 44:Not a major problem but the facilities as described on booking.com were not in the room. Safe, Gowns, Slippers etc were in the description but not actually in the room. When we queried this we were told the safe was at Reception and available on request
Review 45:The hotel is on a quiet street just off the main road to Golden Temple. Modern rooms and common spaces. Only had one meal but very good
Review 46:Where do I start? 1. Noise - the major issue for me is that I am a light sleeper. As such, when booking.com offered me 2 choices of room, a standard and an executive, I chose to pay extra for the executive, because it was listed on booking.com as soundproof. I guarantee you it was not soundproof, I could hear dogs barking outside my window all night. On the second night (after complaining twice) I was moved to a room at the back of the hotel, where the noise level was much better. 2. When I arrived in my room, the ceiling was open, a panel had been moved. I assume they had been doing some work on the air conditioning and hadn't even bothered to replace the panel. 3. The jug of filtered water was empty. As I had no water on me, I needed to use it, so asked reception for another one. The guy took the jug that had been used by the previous room occupants and just refilled it. In my opinion, glasses and jugs should be washed when you change occupants of a room. 4. Towels were stained quite badly. I'm used to towels being grey instead of white in India, that is pretty standard, but these were badly stained, the worst I saw during my entire India stay. After complaining, on the second night I was finally given clean towels. 5. The second room I was given couldn't get a wi-fi signal for the first half of the day. After bringing this to management's attention, this was fixed, but I could still only get signal right at my door, so had to drag a chair to my room door to use wi-fi. Bit inconvenient to go to the lobby to use wi-fo for part of the day, then sit in the doorway for the other part. 6. Night Manager was not helpful at all when I brought many of these issues to his attention. Nothing was resolved until I could speak to Mr Sharma (Day Manager) the next day.
Review 47:Very good location, near the Golden Temple. After I had a large number of issues with my room, the hotel manager Mr Vikas Sharma, was able to convince me not leave early, by changing my room and he did go out of his way to try and make up for all the issues I had. He did his best with what he had to work with, and was respectful and courteous. If not for him, I would have left the hotel early.
Review 48:Rooms should have complimentary Mineral water bottles and Tea Kettle and tea and coffee satchets for making tea/coffee.
Review 49:Location as we had gone to visit Golden Temple and helpfull staff.
Review 50:There was a loud humming noise all night. Maybe a generator? Limited options for western breakfast
Review 51:Excellent bed Ultra modern bathroom, with great shower Very clean Very close to temple Very kind staff
Review 52:outside the hotel is like being in a slum , but that is not the hotels fault that is the general area , shower didnt really get hot
Review 53:near the golden temple
Review 54:The rooms should be equipped with tea coffee maker. I was not given a bill during check out saying that i will receive one from booking.com ,which i have not received till date.
Review 55:Courteous staff
Review 56:the guests are screaming in the hotel corridor as a rersult my sleep got disturbed as well.
Review 57:nothing,the staff front desk staff very rude also wrong calculation in bill.
Review 58:Hotel City Park was perfect in many ways. The location was very close to the golden temple. The room was amazing, clean and large. Really not a 3 star hotel more 4 at least.
Review 59:Water in the shower is often barely warm. The restaurants that are close are Western chaina like pizza hut,'for good indian food you have to go north of the train station. The most important deawbqck is the unreliable service. We ordered a taxi to go to he border cermony, but this was not executed, so w did not go.
Review 60:The location so close to golden temple is fantastic. The beds are very comfortable and the wifi good.
Review 61:From check in to check out it was the basics, no drinking glasses, fridge,or safe, grotty towels and hot water seemed to be available only when I rang up and asked for it to be put on, absolutely no interest from the front desk in answering a question I had about onward travel so I asked at another hotel. Also I didn't appreciate that 10 minutes after paying the bill there was a knock at the door enquiring how soon we were vacating the room. All in all the hotel was "fur coat and no knickers" Once again India proves to be a let down in the mid range bracket when you give yourself a bit of a treat, back to the budget hotels for me.
Review 62:It's a smart looking hotel in a perfect position for the Golden Temple, the room was lovely but without any of the basics a room of this cost should have.
Review 63:Poor wifi
Review 64:4 mins walk to Golden Temple 2 mins walk to Jallianwala Bagh very close to market and great food Love the attached room Clean and prompt service
Review 65:A heart that ticks in the center of town only 5 minutes walk from the golden temble. Clean guite with safe foodserved all day. The manager of the hotel is always there to help you. All stuff so smilly. We stayed 07 days real relaxing time. Sef excellent tantoori chicken.
Review 66:1. No breakfast included. 2. Late start to room service in the morning. 3. No stand or shelf to keep soap or body wash in shower stall. 4. Jet spray was on left side instead on being on the right.
Review 67:1. Spacious room 2. Good quality fittings and fixtures 3. Free parking outside
Review 68:The rooms did not have locker. The staff took more than 30 mins to arrange for a car which they committed to be done in 5 mins at the time of booking it.
Review 69:The location and the staff corporation was good. They provided us with food for the infant traveling with us.
Review 70:It would have been nice to have a hot water kettle in the room for tea and coffee.
Review 71:The hotel room was nice and clean, the hotel staff were very nice and helpful, and let us store our baggage after check out until our train late that night. The location is just around the corner from the Golden Temple.
Review 72:No drinking water provides free of charge, minimal toilet paper provided, and the breakfast menu is limited.
Review 73:Located a short walk from the Golden Temple
Review 74:The hotel suffers from a staff that is in general incompetent. A lot of requests and services were forgotten. We booked a taxi with one staff member, but it turns out he never called to make the reservation. Housekeeping requests were forgotten. We asked for laundry prices and details. One staff member told us the hotel doesn't do laundry. Another told us the price was fixed at 13 rupees per article. When we checked out, some articles were charged at 30 rupees, some at 50 rupees, and we were charged for more items than were washed. Even if it was a simple miscommunication of "thirteen" versus "thirty", this can not explain the items charged at "fifty" rupees. The one exception is the general manager who is very competent and does his very best to resolve these problems, often very successfully and professionally.
Review 75:Location very close to the golden temple. Modern and clean. Comfortable rooms. Quiet area for Amritzar.
Review 76:Poor service, food was bad the wifi really poor. However the food can always be consumed outside as many options available outside hotel.
Review 77:Location, cleanliness and value for money.
Review 78:No Doctor on call- had to travel 15km for a doctor Disgusting view from room 307 & 306 Lab type washbasin-does not flush away the mouth debris Limited menu choice in the restaurant No computerized billing
Review 79:Decor and cleanliness Friendly and helpful front office staff, including the restaurant staff. Though limited choice on menu, food was excellent.
Review 80:No standard room facilities like clean towels, fridge, safe or even a bottle of complementary bottle of water. Stayed for 2 nights with my room unclean in between.
Review 81:The location.
Review 82:Room features promised were lacking: No safe, no hairdryer, ("because we are a new hotel, we are working on details"- but i left the city with a running nose which continued for another two weeks- due to lack of hairdryer) no wifi in the room (they called the technician once we complained but then said it would take a couple of days to fix), and foremost, although we were promised the reception was 24/7, there was nobody there at 4 pm when we -previously informed- we had to leave and it took a heart stopping 15 minutes (as we had to catch a plane) for the half sleeping door guard to find the receptionist who in the end came out half sleeping in barefoot, without any sort of apology and charged us the bill of another room first before we warned about the mistake- we were meanwhile trying to call booking.com's unanswering local number to inform we might have to leave w/o paying. The daytime receptionist was kind and attentive, apologetic of all the missing things and even providing a room upgrade, but our experience turned into a nightmare upon leaving. Also, the room floor was so dusty.
Review 83:Very close to the Golden Temple, decent 3-star facility.
Review 84:Housekeeping needs to be improved Information on travel portal is not correct Parking constraint. No Safe locker in the room Carry your own toiletries.
Review 85:Hotel is located at a walking distance from Golden Temple Structure is new Staff is courteous Interior is well done
Review 86:Service was really quite poor except for one receptionist who we met just prior to checking out. It was like everything was a chore for them. Food was not great and there are better options around.
Review 87:Great location to see the golden temple. Rooms are very nice considering the cost.
Review 88:For transfers is better to use regular taxis, not hotel services. But possitive - they weren't eager about anything
Review 89:Clean, close to the temple. was expecting an electric kettle in the room (I think it was promissed), but haven't got any. I might get one, if I would ask, but was too busy.
Review 90:Poor room service. No bed tea till 7:30 am. No food on Diwali night. Room Key card giving trouble but no solution from staff. Bath room curtain dirty.
Review 91:Location is good for people interested in Golden Temple.
Review 92:Bed sheets were unfortunatelly dirty. Price bit too high for what you get.
Review 93:We stayed 1 night and it was just fine. Location is great, just near the golden temple. Room was fine. Pretty good for 1 night.
Review 94:THE FOOD QUALITY OF THE HOTEL IS VERY BAD, THE WIFI DOES NOT WORK PROPERLT
Review 95:THE LOCATION IS VERY GOOD FOR THE LEISURE, BECAUSE THE GOLDEN TEMPLE AND JALIANWALA BAGH IS VERY AROUND 100 - 150 METERS.
Review 96:Not so good locality and poor neighbouring area. Lack of staff. No provision for Drinking Water Bottles, Toilet kit, Dustbin in the room.
Review 97:Rooms are good and spacious. Good Interiors.
Review 98:Staff was not friendly at all. When we left no one was at the frontdesk and we almost left without paying. Waited too long.
Review 99:Location was really central
Review 100:Hotel is fairly new and has good amenities, cleanliness, courteous staff ( thanks to Mr Gurpreet at front Desk) the entire stay even after heavy rains were very comfortable !
Review 101:My booking was for two days but next morning they said you have to checkout because they have some issue. And they did not arrange for anyalternative, so I have to do it alone it was very hard. Due to this mytrip was spoiled I have to skip some tourist place. I will askbooking.com to remove this hotel from your list.
Review 102:The receptionist didn't check his email when I made the booking, he said the person responsible was not there, what?!! excuse me.
Review 103:clean, they made me to chose between two rooms. helpful staff
Review 104:The Location & Live Kitchen is the best part of this Hotel. Had a comfertable stay.
Review 105:Well! The location is very prime and the interiors is so latest. Their is no such hotel like City Park near Golden temple & the Tariff is also very reasonable & worth it. Big lobby with big rooms.

Review 107:Breakfast was very good and courteous staff
Review 108:good wifi, best is location
Review 109:I have no experience for this.
Review 110:Facilities were excellent, food was awsome and staff behaviour was also good. Hotel was neat and clean
Review 111:Room no ggod.
Review 112:Nothing at all
Review 113:Food
Review 114:Service
Review 115:Location wise it is good choice and near to everything in that area.
Review 116:The proximity to the Golden Temple was excellent..just a 10 min walk from the hotel.Simple and adequate facilities.
