Reviews for Majestic Hotel

Review 1:Having to pay extra for my hubby in a double room Thats not right or fair

Review 2:Booked with you, was disappointed as I booked a double room which to me means 2 people but was charged am extremely 25euro for my hubby to sleep with me a double room is and always be for 2 people I phoned costumer service and was told booking has to have 2 little people to be for 2 persons never seen that icon before

Review 3:Food advertised served until 8.30 and returned with small child and diabetic wife to be told sorry there's a function on and no food available (this at 8pm)...asked for room service and told 2 hour wait for a ham sandwich. Got food elsewhere. Have stayed here two years on the go but will certainly not be returning. Also not worth the money charged. Only gets good rating as it's the only hotel in the area.

Review 4:Hotel location top notch but area so small didn't really matter

Review 5:I had my 17 month old baby, my mother and my 80 year old aunt with me. Our 1st night was perfect and we were really enjoying it. On Saturday the hotel had a large wedding. Our room was directly over the function room, the music from the band and disco didn't end until around 2. I would have appreciated being told in advance and given the choice to stay elsewhere as none of my party slept until after 2am. I rang down to reception but was dealt with by a frosty night porter who didn't care. It was the same story when I spoke to Alice on the desk the following morning. Firstly she completely dismissed my complaint, telling me that no one had complained, I told her that I had spoken with the night porter about it, her response was "well we don't give refunds, if you're down again we might look after you". Her attitude was completely discounting and made me feel awful, as if I was the problem. Alice did this again when I was handing back in the room cards. The lady on the desk with her, who I think may have been the owner, asked if everything was to my liking. Before I got a chance to reply, Alice stated that I had already checked out and dismissed me yet again. I had paid my bill on arrival but hadn't received a receipt which I wanted. I left without getting one as the bride and groom from the wedding came to the desk behind me and I was quickly dealt with. I really felt quite upset leaving the hotel. This was my only holiday this year as I'm very busy with my job where I deal with hundreds of clients each week. I am appalled by the way I was treated.

Review 6:Nice hotel, the restaurant staff were very helpful around wheat & gluten intolerance. Lovely evening meals and breakfasts

Review 7:Tissues in the bedroom would be useful. Staircase looks a bit 'tired' and could do with a freshen up.

Review 8:Excellent staff in the restaurant. Good food and plenty of it in both the restaurant and bar. Liked the new floral soft furnishings in room 223, very fesh.

Review 9:The second visit on the 12th we were given a bedroom at the rear of the hotel this wasn't as spacious for our party of three.

Review 10:Location, food. The sea view bedroom on the first night was very good.

Review 11:The shower in my room was very poor. No pressure and difficult to get warm, very disappointing. The breakfast was lovely but not hot enough!

Review 12:Overall my stay was excellent but it was only one night. Bar food and staff were excellent. Room was lovely and view beautiful!

Review 13:some of our group were elderly and needed particular items for breakfast which was catered for by staff with no fuss .a big thank you to them.also iwas speaking with the manager one day and almost every guest that passed he saluted them by name.in my book 100 percent for that.

Review 14:I thought bathroom was quite small. No minibar in room. No pool.

Review 15:Central location, lovely Seaview, bar and restaurant spacious and very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast very tasty with a lot of choices. Would definitely stay again.

Review 16:Restaurant was closed well b4 9. Debs was on the Friday night very loud. My partner got lads setting of fire extinguishers rang n told reception. Manager offered us free drink the next day to say thanks as he caught the guys. But never actually did!! Very poor

Review 17:You are a 4 star hotel. So I expect a better shower fitting - for 4 stars, I expect a thermostatic control on the shower, And for the extractor fan in the bathroom to work!

Review 18:The hotel was in a good location, very easy to get to the town or sea front from there.

Review 19:Triple Room was very cramped (especially with baby cot). Matress for cot was non existent. No standard modern facilities (pool, fridge in room etc). Food portion size in bar was small (but quality of food was good). Not enough pastries for breakfast (they ran out both mornings)

Review 20:Good Location

Review 21:Didn't like that there was no pool but the splash world was right across the road

Review 22:The hotel was just great. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Accommodated us really well with our baby. We will most definitely be back next year.

Review 23:curtains were very thin and the front of the hotel was a little noisy room is a little small and bathroom very small , not ideal room for 4 people

Review 24:breakfast was great and the staff at breakfast could not have been more helpful great view from the bedroom overlooking the beach.

Review 25:Children not supervised in bar and running around roaring. Shower was very poor no power and kept going hot and cold.

Review 26:Location is ideal and the view from room was amazing.

Review 27:Was a very clean pleasant hotel, great location. Discount given to Majestic Hotel guests at splash world. Food in the hotel was good breakfast had plenty of options. Staff very friendly.

Review 28:wifi was poor. I discovered on checking out that vouchers to keep wifi open were available at reception but this was not clear on checking in which would have been very helpful

Review 29:Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast

Review 30:Children been allowed to run around the corridors late at night, slamming of bedroom doors.

Review 31:Location is great views are beautiful if your lucky to get seaview room....

Review 32:It was a beautiful hotel and the location is wonderful. I saw some people there on their own and it would be really what the doctor ordered peace and quite and the sea air. Lovely music at night.

Review 33:The warm welcome we received, the delicious food, the beautifully decorated Hotel, the Sea View Rooms. The Sheer Hospitality shown to all of us throughout our stay.

Review 34:Food in the bar was awful!! We had what was meant to be sirlion steak.. its wasnt.. it was burnt so bad and just not fit to eat!! Staff said we ordered it well done!! Breakfast wasnt great either. Sausages were very poor quailty.. and ordered a poached egg.. was bits of the egg white and a broken yolk!

Review 35:Stayed her for my mums birthday. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Rooms were basic and nothing like their pictures online but very clean.

Review 36:lift doors close extremely fast, our young daughter was struck by the door twice, wasn't hurt either time but got a fright

Review 37:nice, friendly staff and great location

Review 38:On our second night there was a wedding and we had a room on the first floor above it and could hear the band clearly but it finished around midnight so not a major issue

Review 39:Breakfast was lovely I was with two teenage boys and they loved it even wanted it for tea. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 40:Rooms way too warm. If it was a hot weekend, it would have been impossible to sleep. Found it hard enough unless near the window which was left open all weekend, even when raining

Review 41:Food was good.

Review 42:Our room was to the side of the hotel looking out at a flat roof housing the extraction fans. Which were cutting in and out and could be annoying when on. I am surprised by 4 Star rating.

Review 43:The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Bar food and breakfast very tasty and good selection. Location was excellent.

Review 44:Staff were not that friendly

Review 45:The location is great. Breakfast was lovely thought Indian waiter was nicest member of staff very happy and friendly even when he was was very busy.

Review 46:The bar service was quite poor, it appeared unorganized and staff not adequately trained. For the amount of people there 1 good barman should have served all drinks at his leisure and let the servers serve the tables.

Review 47:The bar menu was very good, food was tasty and well presented for both adults and young kids. Receptionist was very helpful in organising a competent and friendly babysitter for us.

Review 48:I was at a wedding, my brother was the groom, and when i enquired about special rate i was told i couldn't have it and so had to pay full price for an unclean room. I wasn't very impressed with my stay.

Review 49:The wedding reception was nicely catered for.

Review 50:Just one little issue was that the walls between the rooms were quite thin so we were disturbed by the wedding singer in the next room. But hey, it was a wedding after all!!

Review 51:The ease of check-in. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will definitely go back.

Review 52:No complaints :-)

Review 53:We were greeted in very friendly professional manner, we requested a room with a balcony and the hotel facilitated our request. It really was just lovely to wake up and look out at the view! The breakfast was fab! We have booked to go back for longer as we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very nice and comfortable and I have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

Review 54:Hotel was beautiful and very quiet which made it so relaxing! Room was very warm but that was due to the sun hitting the window so can't complain about that!!

Review 55:mark and his team our doing a brillant job at makeing guests new and old most welcome .great buzz in the bar. staff our top notch.we will be back next year for the ska festival

Review 56:Room was very dated. Shower head broken. Bed sagged in the middle. Overlooking a carpark. Receptionist not too interested. We weren't offered wifi code. Sunday breakfast only til 10am. Expensive.

Review 57:Location. Plenty of hot water and nice bathroom. Nice biscuits in the room. Good sized room with good hairdryer and storage. Bar and dining area very nice.

Review 58:Mad boy racers woke me in the middle of the night speeding like lunatics on the road beside the hotel. I mentioned this to receptionist.

Review 59:Staff were soo helpful and nice Room excellent with nice view

Review 60:Breakfast could be a bit more varied - no yoghurt or pastries available. No Wi-Fi in the bedrooms.

Review 61:Central location - close to the sea. I had a room with a nice sea view.

Review 62:wifi a bit iffy but being upgraded so no worries there for the future

Review 63:We stayed here for two nights earlier this week.Lovely staff on reception and very pleasant housekeeping and bar staff.

Review 64:No complaints, just one observation remove the hedging and wall and replace with railings like the B&B next door. Hope you are not offended by this. I just think it would enhance the exterior.

Review 65:Once we stepped inside we were presently surprised with everything, we had food on arrival and it was first class. The staff were present and we felt welcome.

Review 66:Nothing at all.Everything was perfect and made our weekend perfect.

Review 67:Very nice stay at the Majestic hotel in Tramore. The GM Mark was very kind and helpful to us on our stay a long with all th staff.

Review 68:The bathroom was a little pokey and selection at breakfast was rather poor given the price being paid. Also, I'm not one usually to complain about computer/WiFi facilities but there was a charge for using a computer terminal which I thought was a little mean-spirited. To pay for use there was a coinbox at the terminal which was out of order anyway so it was still not possible to use the computer even if you did pay. Then when I tried to access the internet on my phone there was a problem with the hotel's WiFi. Not very impressive to say the least.

Review 69:Location was very convenient and the room was quite spacious and comfortable.

Review 70:nothing to dislike

Review 71:this is the 4th visit to the majestic hotel and again i really enjoyed our stay, staff are really friendly from the management to the cleaners everyone says hello to you, when we got to our room it was lovely and warm, the view was brillant i would advise anyone who goes to stay at this hotel to ask for a room with a view, the food in the hotel is fantastic, the breakfast is selfservice so waiting around food was very hot, already looking forward to my next visit

Review 72:Unfortunately we had an incident in which the car was damaged parked outside hotel not really the hotels fault but it ruined our stay but these things happen. .

Review 73:Lovely hotel great location.

Review 74:Wifi in rooms ,wasn't at all good

Review 75:Stayed here for two nights with four young children to visit Winterval Waterford, and it is a very comfortable friendly hotel. Great location ,2minute walk into tramore and a good bus service in and out of Waterford ,if you didn't fancy driving. Breakfast was lovely and we also had some bar food on first night which was also good. Very enjoyable relaxing stay and we will look forward to going back someday. P.S Winterval Waterford was also superb and very magical, children and a blast

Review 76:Decor/fixtures a little dated compared to some other 4-star hotels I've stayed but well maintained

Review 77:Sea view from room was nice Staff were very friendly Bed was comfortable Very short walk to pubs, restaurants etc. and to the beach/seafront Room was clean The breakfast was great -- buffet had a very large selection and the dining room was clean, bright and appealing

Review 78:We found hotel too warm and could not turn off rads in the bedroom as fixture at side of rad was broken.Asked for room to the front but did not get it.

Review 79:We liked the food in the bar it was lovely.Enjoyed music in the bar on Sat night .Staff really nice in the bar and serving the food. Breakfast was lovely and plenty choice and the staff serving breakfast were lovely and asked us lots of times were we okay.

Review 80:Slamming doors and hearing neighbours conversation whilst having my bath!

Review 81:Comfortable bed, improved decor in downstairs bar, buffet breakfast. Restaurant staff very attentive and had calm demeanour when very busy, particularly Maureen and Fernando.

Review 82:We would have liked an ocean view but the double rooms were on the wrong side of the hotel.

Review 83:Accommodation and location were excellent. We were not expecting two rooms for our party of three but this was just what we needed.

Review 84:Waiting for the toaster at breakfast, the bread needs to be fed through three times before you can get any colour in it.

Review 85:I stayed here 50 years ago, it was the best hotel on the town then and it is now. Alas, in the 1970's the original hotel (the one I stayed in) was destroyed by fire and now it has been rebuilt and enlarged to a very high standard. There are a lot of rooms with sea views and many with balconies which would afford a view of virtually the whole bay - more so from the upper floor. The staff are warm and friendly with excellent knowledge of the area and what is good to see during your stay. The meals are very good value compared with local restaurants.

Review 86:nothing it was all good

Review 87:everything i had no complaints it was a lovely hotel great views and staff were great we had a lovely view of the sea and surrounding area

Review 88:We stayed in a triple room for three adults sharing .our room only had two tea cups for tea and two glasses in the bathroom. The pillows were very poor quality. The ramps outside hotel and inside were very steep for a wheelchair. We had a front room which was very noisy at night time also we felt we could have got a fan as room was extremely warm at night.

Review 89:Basic small room for a triple room. Shower poor water flow although was hot. Not what I would expect for 4 star and price

Review 90:Location very central . Easy parking. Very clean. Wi-Fi good. Debs ball was on 1st night of our stay but no noise

Review 91:I felt the rooms could have done with a coat of paint, our ceiling was full of marks which I can only guess was water damage at some stage. There was also a bibet which was not in use, the taps were gone so I felt it should really have been removed.

Review 92:The staff were very nice, very helpful. The rooms were small, but clean and had lots of shampoo, etc in the bathroom. TV in the room was also very good. We ate in the restaurant, food was really good and very good value, breakfast was excellent, lots of everything.

Review 93:Price of the room for 2 people was a bit much, tried to change my room from Triple to Double to at least cover the shortfall but was unable to and was not offered any help or reduction which was pretty bad... On the Majestic hotel web site they are advertising a leisure centre but unfortunately you have to walk across the road to use an independent centre

Review 94:As I stayed in this hotel before I knew the staff were quite friendly, the food was great also...

Review 95:WiFi was terrible - almost non-existent, and I specifically checked for full wifi availability (in rooms) before booking. On check-in i was told that there may be some 'black-spots'. the whole hotel was a black spot - with really only one place in the hotel (one sofa & coffee tabkle in the reception lonby) having a signal. no signal in my room, and no signal in the bar area. The reception staff did not seem to see the importance of wifi for business visitor. Simply could not stay there again, although i need to visit the area again 5-6 times in the Autumn

Review 96:Location Menu seemed quite nice Nice pleasant family atmosphere Bar food good Room was fine - with a good desk for working at

Review 97:Facilities Heat (no aircon and it's east facing, so it can get very hot) Light (very hard to sleep past 7:30 as it's simply too bright) Cost: for a non city based hotel, it's quite expensive.

Review 98:Location Free wifi (though quite slow) Bright disposition (first time I ever had to wear sunglasses in a hotel room before anywhere) It's really the only choice of hotel in Tramore

Review 99:Rooms had a lovely view, however got way too hot at night

Review 100:Located right beside the Beach was a real bonus, and the Breakfast was Amazing. Staff were all very friendly

Review 101:The hotel' s own website advertised a kids club but when we enquiried we were told it hasn't been on since last year and that "it shouldn't be on the website"!! Also one of our non-smoking rooms smelled of smoke.

Review 102:Hotel was lovely and clean, food was great and in grey location, break was good value for money. Overall we would highly recommend it.

Review 103:Hair dryer was old & sucked my hair in thus burning it. Also there was a child's hairbrush left under the bed which leads me to think the rooms are not thoroughly cleaned.

Review 104:the beds were uncomfortable and not enough pillows in the room for 4 sharing

Review 105:the food was really nice, except for the cajun chicken. panini, was disappointing, but the staff were veryfriendly

Review 106:Rooms were very hot but we left balcony door open for air... We were woke at 5am by phone ringing, when answered it was some one from another room ringing the wrong room number, looking for her friend... Very annoying at that hour!! Took ages to get back to sleep, but that was nothing to do with the Hotel, just some idiot guest!!

Review 107:Lovely staff & rooms... Delicious breakfast in nice room, great view with nice small balcony.... Black out curtains were great, wi-fi was excellent.... Great stay!!

Review 108:The room was soooo hot and no wifi on the second floor.

Review 109:The staff in the hotel are very friendly and really welcoming, the room was spotless, breakfast was lovely great selection it set us up for the day. Parking is right across the road so we could see the car which was great. It way really nice to look out the window and see the fun fair and beach.

Review 110:Bed not comfortable. Room extremely noisy -right on top of fans. Banging/Knockin noise from radiator in room from 5.30 in the morning

Review 111:Staff excellent

Review 112:The room needed a good dusting bed side lamp were full of dust. Breakfast was basic food cooked in too much grease, juices were of poor taste and quality

Review 113:Location was fantisic. As I was travelling with my two adult sons it was great to have 3 beds in the room

Review 114:Had late night drink with wife in bar, got some abuse from person drinking at bar, thought barman should have stopped it, didn't get into any verbal's or otherwise, just took our drink o our room.

Review 115:Cleanliness and food.

Review 116:Was a beautifull atmosphere staff were professional yet very.approachable.

Review 117:Room could have been more wheelchair friendly.

Review 118:central location. Sea view.

Review 119:Lovely comfortable room overlooking sea. Got to watch storm from safety and warmth of room. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 120:The food was brilliant and at an excellent value. Staff were very kind, chatty and helpful in all manners.

Review 121:The shower could have had more power.

Review 122:It was a pleasant stay.

Review 123:Room was lovely with a wonderful view to wake up to! Breakfast room was lovely and bright and the breakfast itself was delicious!

Review 124:Nothing

Review 125:Lovely food and friendly staff

Review 126:Very happy with staff & service

Review 127:Hotel is a bit tired. Rooms need to be modernised.

Review 128:Location. Nice large windows & good views from the rooms at the front of hotel.

Review 129:Price a lot of money for what it was

Review 130:Location

Review 131:A lovely hotel in a great location. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were really helpful.

Review 132:Some staff were great others not so friendly

Review 133:Enchance breakfast offerings

Review 134:Service
