Reviews for O'Shea's Hotel

Review 1:Staff were so pleasant & helpful, it made our New Year stay, just wonderful! Hotel was so central, and very good indeed! Many Thanks! Sean R. & Carmel O'Sullivan...

Review 2:The throw cover on the bed had hair and dirt which obviously hadn't been cleaned. The bathrooms needed a very thorough cleaning (stains in tub and floor)

Review 3:Location is close to beach and around the corner from town! The drinks in the bar were great - amazing hot toddies

Review 4:Bar staff were awful, completely ignored us on several occasions when we tried to order a drink and we left to go somewhere that appreciated our custom.

Review 5:Breakfast is great and serving staff friendly and helpful. The night porter was extra helpful providing a heater when the radiator in the room didn't work.

Review 6:Absolutely disgusted with the way my family were treated by hotel we booked 2 rooms firstly alarms went off and then music continued until 2.30am and my son had to run in all Ireland which the hotel knew about I wasn't even told about music if I had known I would have stayed elsewhere and disgusted with hotels response to this!!!

Review 7:The room was cold when we arrived. The curtains were cold and a bit damp. The room smelled unused. The bathroom door handle came off in my hand.

Review 8:Location near the sea

Review 9:Heating turned off in room at night & again in the morning, after being on for only a short while, with no obvious way of turning it back on. It was too cold to have a shower. No extra blanket available in room. Noise coming from venue next door, until after 2am.

Review 10:Convenience to centre of Tramore. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, clean room, other than heating issue mentioned.

Review 11:Only small item but keys for room might be slightly oversized for carrying around- everything else was excellent.

Review 12:Very accommodating staff & centrally located. Could not complain about anything and residents bar was excellent.

Review 13:It was the weekend and there was a lot of noise from people leaving the nightclub late at night. We didn't know the hotel had a nightclub so were not expecting the noise.

Review 14:Hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a lovely meal there.

Review 15:ROOMS DATED AND SMALL PILLOWS VERY HARD. POOR SLEEP, NOISE FROM PUB DOWN STAIRS. PARKING DOWN THE STREET FROM HOTEL .

Review 16:LIKED BEING NEAR THE BEACH STAFF VERY FRIENDLY FOOD VERY NICE. PREMISES CLEAN BUT DATED.

Review 17:Having to leave. But maybe next time we may go a little earlier in the season. Missed out on seeing the promenade in full swing.

Review 18:Location was fabulous. Walks on the sea front an absolute must and just listening to the waves crash on the beach was Heavenly. Great staff in all areas, bar, waitresses (breakfast and dinner) and very helpful reception staff.

Review 19:Just a small mention of the timing of heating.Came back at night to cold room then came back from breakfast to very warm room. This didnt bother us as we dont really like heat at night but i am sure that a lot of other people do

Review 20:friendliness of staff from reception right through to departure was excellent.Great breakfast.

Review 21:Unprepared for the breakfast requirements for a large group of people who all needed to be fed at the same time. Maybe the hotel had not been warned in advance about the event taking place

Review 22:Spacious room, really comfy beds, great shower

Review 23:Not a thing

Review 24:The staff at I Shea's hotel were so polite and helpfull . It was a beautiful place to stay and we enjoyed really enjoyed our stay there and we will definitely be returning there soon many thanks to all the staff . Honoria Griffin

Review 25:I was disappointed with the view, as I thought we would be across from the ocean. The food in the restaurant wasn't great, but wasn't terrible.

Review 26:The room was bright, clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely.

Review 27:I had mentioned night before that we had to leave early. Lady at desk said everyone was coming to breakfast at eight but alit of disgruntled parents waiting for hot breakfast as only three waitresses on staff

Review 28:Comfy beds and a friendly lady who rang to check I was ok as it was a five hour drive for one night for surfing competition

Review 29:Everything about our stay was perfect!! We got the Sunny Southeast weather! The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the staff were friendly and the food was excellent. They provide a great breakfast in the morning and off road parking! What more could we ask for! Great hotel!!

Review 30:There was no lift, which made getting the pushchair up and down to the room hard.

Review 31:The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Very good place for families.

Review 32:It was a bit on the noisy side at closing time due to the taxi office opposite. Kettle didnt work but was immediately replaced on request

Review 33:Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and the room though basic was perfectly clean

Review 34:It was a lovely central location within walking distance of all the amenities. Friendly & helpful staff in a clean and comfortable environment. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Review 35:Only dislike we had was it wasn't a place for small kids...too many stairs to get to our family room plus to easy access to the windows, which were very low in our room .

Review 36:Location of the hotel was great for us...very central to the amusements & great to go walking on the beach

Review 37:We were on the ground floor in the annex and although the window was smoked glass we didn't feel comfortable leaving the curtains open as there were lots of people in the street. Also a sign asking guests not to slam the doors would be good.

Review 38:There's no option for two sisters travelling so have ticked mature couple! Enjoyed our stay at o'sheas although one very slight moan was that as vegetarians it would've been nice to have veggie sausages included with breakfast but other than that there were no complaints

Review 39:We stayed in the lodge and we have 3 kids the room was too small and very stuffy at night time even though there was entertainment ever night the atmosphere was poor

Review 40:Liked the location near everything , staff were very friendly

Review 41:Perfect hotel for those with young children as it's so close to the beach, very laid back, kids were allowed be kids, I didn't feel like I had to constantly keep them from having fun and running around

Review 42:i did not like that I booked to stay at a hotel, but when got there was put in an annex, and still paid the full price

Review 43:I liked that the beach, funfair ect were all in close range of hotel

Review 44:I don't like the fact that on the website they font list the in house entertainment if you knew what was on in the hotel you could plan your trip around it we ended up coming home on a day that my mother would of loved to see a band that was in the hotel that night if we had of knowing we would of booked different days

Review 45:I liked the location & staff were friendly there was free wifi but it was very poor

Review 46:Excellent hotel. Staff was freindly and helpful. Location was outstanding. Booked O'Sheas on line without really having any knowledge of the hotel, struck gold. Would advise friends and family to use O'Sheas. Definitely will stay here on any future travels.

Review 47:The room was like something you would expect in a hostel, we stayed in the annex, all our beds were squashed into corners, the room was far to small for a family of five, it was not a family room. We were put on the third floor with an infant with no lift in the building. The "award winning" bar food was terrible.

Review 48:The breakfast was good, and ladies serving it were very nice.

Review 49:no wifi in bedroom. no lift facilities in hotel .tv - limited choice of channels, no radio stations available.

Review 50:location beside beach, breakfast in morning to 11 am, helpful service.

Review 51:Room was a little cold at nightime and early morning.Breakfast could have been better

Review 52:Everything we loved our room staff very nice the blonde lady at reception was outstanding we just loved her

Review 53:Felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Price was more expensive than the four star majestic hotel which was in Tramore and gad wonderful views of the sea. Room felt damp and smelt damp. Heavy smell of bleach in room. Room suppose to be none smoking but had heavy smell if smoke.

Review 54:The staff were so lovely could not be nicer. The food was gorgeous. Over all it was great the only one thing I would say the bathroom was a bit grubby and the toilet was broken. But it didn't take away the overall opinion of been very good.

Review 55:room was a little old fashioned and small we were at the front it was very noisey.. We changed after 2 nights baby kept waking

Review 56:It was so close to everything staff were friendly

Review 57:The location was very noisy until the early hours of the morning. We had to keep window shut to ovoid which was not successful. There were dirty towels thrown in corridor throughout our stay.

Review 58:Place was good but if eating out stay away from mistys restaurant my daughter got food poisoning from the chicken curry ruined our holiday

Review 59:Very good value for money

Review 60:Could be bit noisy if you have a window out aginst the road and the pub.

Review 61:Had a perfect time and O'Sheas and Tramore. Everything worked d Frime checking in, helping where to hire a bike, breakfast and having a oint of Guinness at the pib!

Review 62:We book oshea hotel only to be sent across the road to other rooms belong to hotel.when knew about the rooms across the road but we did ask and we were inform we b staying in hotel. The smell of damp and the floors were filthy even after the cleaner did they. The bed linen was damp and smelly. The reception desk at main hotel we found staff helpful but yet got the opinion they look down on there guess. No way in hell was it worth 840euro for 5 guess which includes 4 adults 1 child 2 rooms. We spooke to some local when we were out and about they couldnt beleive the price of hotel.shame on oshea for very bog standard accomodation. Book a house near the beach much better value for money. Genuine review.

Review 63:The breakfast staff the ladies in there are a credit to a very poor hotel. The location of the hotel was superb as its near the beach.

Review 64:Room was in annex building across the road from hotel. Bare wooden floors in rooms so could hear people in other room moving furniture around. Thin walls. Very cheap toilet paper.

Review 65:Friendly staff, great breakfast, central location

Review 66:Well, this wasn't the Ritz, but for the price paid, we found we could live with the inconvenience of things not working. When we mentioned problems to staff, they readily placed us in other rooms where things worked a bit better.

Review 67:The hotel was able to accommodate a mobility issue by providing ground level rooms. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment in the pub, and the incredible full Irish breakfast.

Review 68:A dog left in a bedroom, with the door ajar, barked like mad when we passed the room to our own, felt like it was going to get out an attack us.

Review 69:The staff in the breakfast room - really pleasant and couldn't do enough.

Review 70:A bit noisy late into the night.

Review 71:The closeness to the sea, The lovely Hotel and its appointments, The friendly staff. The great variety of meals. The little narrow streets.

Review 72:Everything at the hotel was great, maureen & Ann serving breakfast are great, always a happy welcome awaits you each morning, along with a huge breakfast. The hotel may be older than some, but the staff & food out weigh any negatives, this was my 2nd visit this year, and will be returning later in the year.

Review 73:There is a nightclub adjecent to/part of the hotel and the level og the noise (screams/chats/fights) coming from the street up until 4am will wake you up/keep you awake until 4am. Most of he rooms in a hotel are facing the street where the nightclub is. There was 6 of us in our party in two rooms and none of us got any sleep. One of the rooms on the third floor was so damp that it was impossible to breath in it without having the window open.

Review 74:Breakfast was very good. Dinner/Bar food was quite tasteless.

Review 75:only moan is, friday and saturday night there was a lot of noise coming from the pubs close by. got woken up both nights

Review 76:nothing was to much trouble for the saff very friendly

Review 77:The reception I got not a bit friendly

Review 78:The breakfast and the ladies who served it were a breath of fresh air maybe they should work reception first impressions last

Review 79:Unaware that there is a disco venue in hotel - so it was noisy from 12.30 -2am,especially for young children. The Annex would be better for family staying. Wifi was down that night in Tramore.

Review 80:Breakfast was very good

Review 81:I had a small baby and did not like how we could here everything in the hotel. We could here other people coming up the stairs at all hours and could here people in there hotel rooms.

Review 82:Breakfast

Review 83:Security officer bad manners there with garda at 10 o clock when I arrived there was a 18 party starting he wanted to know where did i think I was going

Review 84:Room ok and so was breakfast

Review 85:A bit loud at night as our room was over the night club, other than that it was fine

Review 86:Hotel was nice and clean I have stayed here before and again I was happy food was good, the hotel is less than 2mins from tramore beach and funfair,I will visit again

Review 87:No wifi, no phone to call receptions. Heating not working in room.you can here what the people in the next room are doing.....

Review 88:It was clean and tidy. Bright comfortably. Food was good and planty of it.

Review 89:Nothing

Review 90:Everything. From the minute we checked in the staff were brilliant and the same all weekend. Would recommend a stay here to anyone. Breakfast was lovely each morning. Bar staff were nice, even though they were very busy the still had a word for you.

Review 91:No Lift. Had to lug heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The bathroom had no curtain on the window. Anyone on the top floor of the opposite window could see you. Hairs on the toilet(alternate edge of flush lever).

Review 92:The price for a night with breakfast included. Though I didn't try the breakfast.

Review 93:The car park is not that good, and the wifi struggles in some locations. The cigarette ends on the flat roof outside the bedroom window did not help to give a good impression.

Review 94:Location is spot on, 5 minutes walk to all the facilities along the promenade and beach. The bar is a good for food and drink without any airs and graces.

Review 95:Hotel is basic but fine, friendly staff, good lively bar, good breakfast and good value for money. Second time to stay here so I knew what to expect, not luxury but comfortable

Review 96:There was nothing I didn't like other than not the cash to stay longer.

Review 97:The view was perfect the room was very nice and warm wasn't expecting it to be so nice and clean the staff were very helpful and friendly the food and drink was excellent.

Review 98:This is very small but the heat was very high maybe other guest like it but we could not turn it down . the menus state that food is available 1200 to 2100 but we had to wait till 1700 to get food

Review 99:We have stayed in other hotel's in tramore and always go back to your hotel because its like we are your special guests and we can everyone its treated the same way thanks

Review 100:Very helpful and accommodating staff. Charming old beachfront hotel. Excellent location for walks on the prom and beach. Secure monitored parking. Well prepared quality food served by caring staff.

Review 101:The wifi kept going on and off , and would have prefared some live entertainment in the bar

Review 102:The food in the bar was excellent , the staff were were very helpful and polite also

Review 103:we really enjoyed our stay all staff were so friendly and cheerful greeted us at all times with smiles and a welcome will be back again shortly food was 10 out of 10

Review 104:The location was nice, just by the beach and lovely walks. It was quiet around, and we enjoyed a nice quiet pint in the bar after spending the last of the daylight hours walking along the 3 mile beach and back. Everyone from the bartender to the reception staff to the breakfast waitress was very upbeat and pro-active.

Review 105:I work in IT industry would of been great to have WiFi in rooms, The WiFi also in the reception and bar area wasn't great but other than that was a great hotel and really enjoyed my stay

Review 106:I will avoid Friday and Saturdays when there is music.

Review 107:I appreciated the location beside the Ladies' Bathing Place now called the Ladies Slip. .Excellent food. I liked the atmosphere of a family run hotel and by a local family from Tramore. I will definately return for another stay.

Review 108:This was our 5th stay at O' Shea's this year and as always my wife and I had a great time, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent as usual.. the room was very comfortable... a big thanks to all the staff for making our stay very good....

Review 109:No complaints. Everything was fantastic.

Review 110:The reception was very accommodating, the location was great. The hotel is near a pier, arcades, pubs, and a water slide.

Review 111:Beds and pillows uncomfortable Door knobs loose Toilet door knob loose Toilet flush handle very loose Windows dangerous loose Handle again

Review 112:location View good food

Review 113:Tramore itself was rather disappointing. We felt it could do with a thorough facelift. It reminded us of Muizenberg seaside resort in Cape Town; once very fashionable, now ageing not too well.

Review 114:The staff. The friendly family atmosphere. The Irish humour and welcoming attitude of all the people with whom we came into contact.

Review 115:No Lift One member decieved us by saying downstairs rooms were full,so were unable to change us...also told us it was just a few steps up to our room,(39) not pleased. We are old age pensioners with arthritic joints.....

Review 116:Location good Food good Staff pleasant Beds v. comfortable and clean car park.

Review 117:No lift but hotel had a lovely old world feel to it so no lift didn't really matter

Review 118:Staff really nice. If you miss breakfast they will serve it to you in the bar. Food lovely, great location. Really enjoyed our stay

Review 119:We had a room overlooking the water and it was quite large. The bathroom was a nice size with a regular tub rather than a small shower enclosure. The hotel had a restaurant and a pub or 2 and the breakfast was very nice served by a very friendly lady. The ladies at the reception desk went out of their way to help us with our future reservations for the next town. There is a taxi business storefront right across the street, and we were able to take a city bus to and from Waterford easily from the hotel.

Review 120:The room was not up to standard at all. The window was broken, the whole room smelled of smoke and there was an awful smell in the bathroom. The sheets on the double bed was stained. We requested for the heat to be put on the evening we arrived as the room was cold and it never came on. The person on reception said they'd put it on for one hour. My son was very cold. I didn't find the staff in the pub attached to the hotel very nice. Service with a smile goes a long way.... I definitely would not return here or recommend it to a friend. As the place was booked up there shouldn't be a problem in putting some money back into the hotel, I'm sure that a few small changes and nice finishing touches to the room would make a big difference

Review 121:The staff the next morning when we went for breakfast were nice and friendly.

Review 122:The only thing I can fault is a dodgy broadband connection, but I was'nt on holiday to go hooking up on the Internet all the time.

Review 123:Where do I start? I've nothing to complain about, the staff were great, and I had a great time there.

Review 124:-informed that my room was in other building in the street beside. -tv with just one channel. -too expensive for the quality provided

Review 125:-location very close to the beach/sea. -car parking -clean

Review 126:No negatives very relaxing perfect weekend

Review 127:It was very pleasant place so near the sea and you didn't have to go far for entertainment at night. Plenty of places to eat food was good.

Review 128:Had a toddler with us so wasn't great climbing d stairs as we were on the second floor food wasn't great d second morning I didn't order a cooked breakfast as we did on d first because it wasn't of good quality so filled up on toast and yoghurt

Review 129:Excellent location stayed for 2 nights in the annex family room spotless and spacious room beautiful view

Review 130:Quality of food was very poor (breakfast dripping in fat/oil and notmuch better for the bar food. Also found a hair in our food twice).Pillows very uncomfortable. Bathroom too small for a family.

Review 131:Location was great, right beside the beach. Staff very friendly.

Review 132:The hotel badly needs to be refurbished, its falling apart, holes in carpet,an iron board with a burnhole in it,has not been painted since god knows when, musty smell. The rooms are not up to standard for a hotel,we would have got better in a B.& B. we will not be back and we met another couple staying there who felt the same. Now we know why you are asked for payment in advance when you check in.

Review 133:Location
