Reviews for B&B La Residenza Dell'Orafo

Review 1:Reception service is not 24 hrs, breakfast is not in the residence but served in a cafeteria nearby

Review 2:Perfect Location, courteous and helpful staff, impeccably clean, nicely furnished rooms.

Review 3:Once it's a old city and buildings, there are no elevator, so was hard to bring the keys. But this is a Florence problem and no the property problem.

Review 4:Super clean room, with all amenities we need and lovely decoration. The staff was very kind and gave good tips about the city. we really enjoy the stay.

Review 5:It is little pity to have breakfast out of B and B for 3 minute by walk.

Review 6:It’s very near to the station St. Maria Novella without an umbrella even in rain and Mis. staff was so kind to everything. The best is well coming some fruits though we had none.

Review 7:-

Review 8:Great and helpful staff. Perfect location. Very nice room, very quite although in potentially noisy location. loved the floor heating in the bathroom. L Very recommended.

Review 9:I didn't stay long enough to enjoy the lovely place!

Review 10:Excellent service, helpful staffs Central to train station Brightly lit and Spacious room Arrived on New Year's Day and was pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary fruit basket. The room is brightly lighted and gives a cheery atmosphere, it's like staying at home! You won't think you are staying at a B&B!!

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Only a few minutes walk to the hotel from the train station which is easy to find. Staffs are extremely nice n helpful. Everything is just perfect!

Review 13:Very little; a minor issue: was not posible to reduce the heating in the room. We would have liked a lower temperature in the room.

Review 14:The staff kindness, especially Rafaella. The breakfast and fruits in the room; the cleanliness; comfortable beds; windows with noise abatement.

Review 15:Excellent place. Had everything we needed. Great location, very close to the train station and within walking distance to many of the sights. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 16:Eye for details. It was Halloween and they left some sweets in the room. Decorated the room a little. Really appreciate these kind gestures. The lady, I forgot her name, who attended to us was really friendly and honest. Very comfortable stay as well.

Review 17:We didn't find the location ideal, mostly because we came by car and it is a busy area of the city. For those coming by train or bus, it might be perfect, as the hotel is close to the major stations.

Review 18:This is a nice hotel with comfortable modern appeal. The staff were very helpful and greeted us with fruit and drinks each day to make our stay special.

Review 19:No inhouse breakfast facility. The cafe engaged in providing breakfast has good food but is small and crowded.

Review 20:We stayed 4 nights in the Quartzo room. Its so near the train station, restaurants & shopping. Public buses and tour meeting points are all nearby. Mercato central market & the duomo are all within short walking distance. Although facing a busy street, the room is quiet, comfortable & very clean. Fruit basket, tea & coffee making facility & water kettle are all provided in the room. Raphaela was so helpful and warm too. Truly, an upscale B&B.

Review 21:The small refrigerator in the room was not useful at all. The air conditioning was controlled by the key card that had to remain installed in the holder on the wall. This holder also operated the room lights. This means that, in order to keep the a/c operating while you are exploring the sites of Florence, you have to remove one of the key cards and leave it in the holder on the wall - and take the other one with you. A bit inconvenient, but not a deal breaker.

Review 22:We took the local trains from Vernazza, through Lucca and Milan, arriving in Florence on the afternoon of July 27, 2015. The main Milan train station is huge. Go across the street and past the McDonald's restaurant. La Residenza dell'Orafo is on that street about 2 city blocks on the left. The door is locked so you must ring the door bell to gain entrance. We were able to check in when we arrived and found a very clean room, with a very helpful lady that gave us a map, our room key, and a contact name and phone number that we could use in case of an emergency after hours. The air conditioning was good, but it did not circulate into the bathroom much. Also, t We walked to all the museums in Florence, as well as the restaurants. I would recommend La Residenza dell'Orafo to anyone exploring Florence, and would consider staying there again.

Review 23:Little bit noisy since the room was close to the main street

Review 24:Central location close to all transport and other services. Comfortable. Good choice of breakfast at nearby cafe. Friendly staff

Review 25:The shower takes some getting use to (it's small). Once you do, it's fine and we would gladly return to the hotel without any hesitations.

Review 26:The location (near the main train station) is excellent, the room is very comfortable and the staff is wonderful. The location is also an easy walk to excellent restaurants and some major sights (Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio).

Review 27:Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We requested an early check in as we were attending a wedding and our room was spotless and available to us 2 hours in advance. Room was incredibly comfortable and was in a perfect location. We would definitely stay here again!

Review 28:The shower cubicle is kinda small even for Asian sizes.

Review 29:Excellent location. Accommodating staff who help make dinner reservation, and gives useful tips on the attractions in Florence. Friendly staff at the breakfast cafe.

Review 30:- The bed was not clean when we arrived, spotted several hairs under the duvet. - Noise from upper floor kept waking me up at night; door slamming, foot steps, dragging stuff.

Review 31:- The staffs were super friendly and helpful. - Good location if traveling by train.

Review 32:Room is a it small and if you have big suitcase it is hard to open it in the room

Review 33:Great location, and staff is very helpful, they helped everything make the travel much easier!

Review 34:Small shower. Anyone who may be bigger than average may find it difficult to have a good wash. Suggest checking with hotel before booking to see if they have other rooms with bigger showers.

Review 35:Central location close to all transport and other services. Comfortable. Good choice of breakfast at nearby cafe. Friendly staff.

Review 36:nothing!

Review 37:The location was great, close enough to the main attractions and a great base for exploring the city. We booked the hotel as we have stayed before, the rooms are lovely and modern, we even had a balcony. The staff were excellent, very friendly and made some great restaurant recommendations. We will be back next time we are in Florence.

Review 38:Only the facility in the toilet, not so good but clean and still OK.

Review 39:1.Love the reception! She is wonderful, very nice and give the information you need to know. 2. Very wide room and good location.

Review 40:The hotel was a great surprise for accomodation so close to the station. Extremely clean, quiet and luxurious. The kids thought it was plush and it was central enough to come and go during the day.

Review 41:It is on a very busy street and it was hard to get the car to the parking lot (the attendant who came to pick up the car was very late and I was parked in a bus stop and needless to say was harassed by the bus drivers.

Review 42:Nice touch with the daily fresh fruit. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave us great ideas for site seeing and restaurants.

Review 43:Great room, great service and most importantly excellent location. One minute walk from the train station and bus stops! And in the heart of all the atteactions of Florence! Highly recommend staying here :)

Review 44:A lot of traffic and people with rolling suitcases along road so as soon as you step out of the building its busy.

Review 45:Staff. Room was nice. Right by train station.

Review 46:Nothing!

Review 47:The helpfulness and extra attention given by the 3 girls (Greta, Marta and Elisa) was amazing. Missed train connections, ongoing travel plans. and local advice were all given so willingly..it made our stau very easy and special. Our room was fabulous and the location is perfect for train and bus travel. There were lots of great restaurants nearby. We will be back and thank you!!

Review 48:We find this Bed and Breakfast, it's central position, spacious clean rooms and amazingly helpful staff, perfect in all ways. Even down to the tea, coffee, cold drinks, nibbles and fruit at no charge in the room - thank you everyone.

Review 49:The location is excellent and very close to all the main attractions in Florence. The rooms beautifully decorated, spacious and very clean. Staff were very friendly helpful and so accommodating. Lovely breakfast. This is our second time we have stayed this year and we will be back

Review 50:Very small elevator (can hardly fit one person with luggage), quite noisy room (there were workers outside the building until 22.30 on Sunday and could hear everything), mosquitoes (and no real remedy against them), very small bathroom

Review 51:Very friendly staff, fresh fuit and dreinks on the house, good breakfast, convenient location near the train station, good wifi connection, nice breakfast

Review 52:Breakfast was............not good. I had to eat very quickly in too small cafe.

Review 53:It was really good B&B. woman manager( I don't rememeber her name) was very kind. she gave us a lot of travel tip & help to reserve nice restaurant.

Review 54:Breakfast we received vouchers for a cafe down the street- the cafe was small, busy, and the selection was not great, had to wait in line for both breakfast and hot drinks

Review 55:Good location walking distance from station and not far from centre streets of Florence, nice sized room big wardrobes

Review 56:A bit hard to locate given the busy area at first, but conveniently located

Review 57:Lovely staff; good location; minutes from duomo di Firenze and San Lorenzo market; a block from train and bus stations.

Review 58:Lovely staff, informative for attractions and getting around. Room was clean and comfortable. Very modern with a great restaurant for breakfast on the street.

Review 59:The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that we only got one key for our room and we had four people. It would have been more convenient for us if we had 2 keys.

Review 60:The location was excellent; it was close to both the train station and many main attractions in the centre of Florence. The room was also very nicely decorated and very neat and clean. Overall, our stay was very good.

Review 61:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, suggested things to do / places to go, gave us a map, waiting for us to arrive even outside of reception hours. Upgraded us to a nicer room, very spacious, huge bed and perfect location. Also receptionist recommended an AMAZING restaurant, delicious! Would stay here again if I return to Florence.

Review 62:Parking is available, but costs 24€ per 24h, breakfast was just ok.

Review 63:Very nice and spacious stay, staff was kind and very helpfull, good location and parking facilities

Review 64:Absolutely nothing at all.

Review 65:Highly recommended. Location: 5 minutes walk to the central station and10 minutes walk to the Duomo. Very convenient. It's near the trainstation, yet not very dodgy unlike most train station areas. Interior:The apartment is very new and nicely furnished unlike most of theaccommodation we found around Florence (or even Italy) which are old andpoorly maintained. Breakfast: Breakfast is served in a cafe 1 blockdown, with a choice of 2 kind of pastries and a drink, decent food.Amenities: All the basics included, towels, shampoo, water boiler andsome refreshments free of charge. Staff: The staff made our stay verywelcoming and pleasant, and provided us with a clear and detailedexplanation of the exploration possibilities around the city. Veryhelpful and friendly. Price: Absolutely money for value. Luxuryenjoyment for a moderate price, especially in such a prime area of thecity. We were even upgraded to a better room on our last night withoutadditional cost.

Review 66:The staff were amazing from start to finish we were made so welcome. This was for our honeymoon and we were left several suprise in our roomfree of charge. Amazing

Review 67:Nothing. Only the breakfast was just so so.

Review 68:Nice and clean room with everything. The lady at front dest was very friendly and helpful. It is near the train station, only about 3 minutes walk. The price was very reasonable. Near supermarkets and the center of Florence. Very convenient.

Review 69:Nothing.

Review 70:Very near to station. Could walk everywhere. Supermarket right beneath was very convenient. Breakfast at nearby coffee shop small but delicious.

Review 71:The aircon was already set on fan mode which made us uncomfortable and very warm during our stay.

Review 72:The room was tidy and clean and it's near the train station which was handy for us as we were travelling the next day.

Review 73:Rainfall shower is not what we need. we need only simple shower

Review 74:Good location and service Nice room, clean and cozy Perfect accommodation for both solo or group travel. I will definitely stay here again. Love this place !

Review 75:Private parking service was 24 EUR per night (costly) but it worked. The breakfast was arranged at the nearby café with limited choice of stuff. The menu option that included bread / butter / jam was in fact one half of white bun thinly spread with butter and cheap strawberry jam (gelé) - my wife was disappointed. The croissant and coffee were fine, and we've paid for extra youghurts.

Review 76:Newly furnished and well maintained room in a building full of B&B facilities, excellent location for tourists. We appreciated the furnishing (a lot of cupboards and shelves). The staff replaced a basket of fresh fruits (free) every day. My wife loved the colour combination of the textiles. Perfectly working and quiet air conditioning. Quiet in the night (our room was facing the yard). Wifi just worked.

Review 77:The air conditioner is a bit noisy.

Review 78:The reception is very helpful in introducing Florence. The location is close to the central station and easy to find. The complimentary breakfast is very good!

Review 79:Breakfast was free but you have to go to the end of the street where a cafe provided the food and drinks.

Review 80:Close to train station, supermarket and the old town. The room was clean and neat, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 81:Could be a minor issue for some, but we knew when we booked, that breakfast is provided at a (very nice) patisserie at the end of the street.

Review 82:B&B was very clean and the room was spacious for a central city location. Within a stones throw of the train and bus stations, yet you couldn't hear any noise from the street at night.

Review 83:I notified the Residenza ahead of time requesting a quiet corner room and mentioned it was my birthday. Rafaela greeted us with wonderful tips of meals and a special restaurant for my birthday dinner which was marvelous, just perfect. I was also treated to a bottle of wine surprise in our room on my birthday. The room was spacious and very comfortable, which is saying a lot with two big teenage boys. The location was great. All was wonderful.

Review 84:The complimentary breakfast at the local cafe was very limited and not enough to provide the energy to start a big day out.

Review 85:The location was perfect, only a few steps from the railway station and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, spending time to show us where the best tourist hotspots were on the map. We were within walking distance of all the best spots in the city and across the road from the bus stop that took us on bus 12 or 13 to the lookout across the river. The rooms were clean and very good value for money.

Review 86:On a somewhat noisy, not that attractive street, but the windows were quite soundproof and the AC worked great, so no problem with noise for us.

Review 87:Nice, clean, attractive room, no problems at all. But in my opinion, the best feature of this hotel is the location. About 2/3 of one block from the Florence SMN train station. We used trains and buses a lot during our stay (to visit other areas in Tuscany), and all of them leave from this station. Also, super easy to transport the luggage yourself when you arrive.

Review 88:Hard to find. Look for door next to a Chinese restaurant and travel office, just around corner from McDonalds. It is worth finding!

Review 89:Clean and quiet room. Breakfast included. B&B is Half block from train station around corner from McDonalds. Owner is very helpful. Easy walk to most sights

Review 90:Breakfast is not located at the B&B, however just a short walk to a cafe. On the plus side it gets you up for an early start of sightseeing.

Review 91:Excellent location, walking distance to all attractions. Staff are fantastic, very informative and helpful. A very enjoyable stay.

Review 92:Location! Very near to station, breakfast staff is very friendly. I didn't realised that the property opening hours, and only get to the property after 10pm. Fortunately, they left me a message on the door, we contacted the person and was able to check-in very smoothly.

Review 93:Great place to stay to discover Florence! Central location, only 5-10mins walk from the main sights. Super friendly, very helpful staff. They contacted us with detailed description to find the hotel in advance, they organised the garage for the car (parking can be hectic in Florence). Stylish decoration, nice, clean room. Great value for money, fully recommended.

Review 94:The common entrance is not welcoming but is misleading; once inside this B&B is brilliant. Shame that one has to go outside for breakfast though

Review 95:The self contained apartment was really comfortable and relaxing and, bearing in mind the location, remarkably quiet

Review 96:Nothing, all was great.

Review 97:Great location right by the train station. All advice from hotel staff was terrific. Room had a fridge which was a nice treat as well as fresh fruit daily. Every where was within walking distance.

Review 98:Room was a little small but that's Italy.

Review 99:Great location close to train station, restaurants and sights. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Review 100:Not a complaint that can be addressed due to the building shape, but the Bathroom is very compact. It would be difficult for a larger person to shower comfortably. It was modern though.

Review 101:The position of this B&B was just perfect. Right in the Centre of Florence, close to all the Sights to visit and right next to the Train/Bus Stations. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Even translated a email for us which prevented a problem arising. could not have asked for better service.

Review 102:Despite requesting a quiet room (6 months ago) ours was facing the street and extremely noisy. We had street sweepers, loud arguing in street all night. Room bright despite metal shutters. (had holes) and see through curtains.

Review 103:The staff were excellent and the room decor lovely. Close to train station.

Review 104:I was expecting a little more from some of the reviews. Basically this place is a small group of ensuite bedrooms with a tiny reception and corridor area inside a big block. There are no facilities that you might want from a typical b&b, i.e communal areas, breakfast onsite (need to go to a cafe 2mins away)

Review 105:Location is excellent, property was clean and comfortable. Good wifi. Friendly and helpful staff

Review 106:Spacious rooms and very helpful staff. Handy location and breakfast (vouchers for the cafe round the corner) was very yummy. Definitely would stay there again.

Review 107:More care could have been taken with the car parking.

Review 108:Great place, good size rooms comfortable bed and very clean. Even had tea & coffee facilitie with nibbles in the room which was so nice.

Review 109:The location is right in the heart of Town, this one is a gem of a B&B we have stayed in many B&B and this one is up their with the best ones we have stayed at their is not one thing you can fault about this place from the friendly welcome to the information guide you are given when you arrive, to the faultless accommodation, with the small touches that are in your room, this is a must to stay at when you visit Florence

Review 110:In my eyes, the only (minor) disadvantage was that breakfast is served at a nearby cafe (juice, caffe and a sandwich).

Review 111:It is located within 100 meters from the train station. My room was rather small, though the bed was comfortable and the shower (although small) had extra jet streams coming from the walls, which was quite fun :-) I arrived very late at night (due to a flight delay) and they were happy to arrange that someone (the lovable Mr. James) would wait for me, to check me in, with a welcoming smile. I would definitely recommend it, if you're looking for a simple and clean place around the train station.

Review 112:The bed is a bit hard... But still great place to stay...

Review 113:We found the place is excellent, in overall. We love the location as very close to the SMN station.. So you can travel to anyplace very easy. It also has good variety of the food, from Chinese resto next door to the fast food...

Review 114:Staffs are very kind. Location is good. We left our wallet in the room. A staff remembers our face and contacted us via booking customer service.

Review 115:Didn't like being referred to a restaurant that the owner of this B and B also had a hand in. Seemed kind of crooked and we didn't like the restaurant and it was very expensive!

Review 116:Very, very close to train station. Beautiful old building on a main street with a balcony overlooking the street. Very homey feel to the room. Wonderful to have coffee and tea maker in the room as well as the fresh fruit basket. So nice of them to set up an anniversary display of swan towels and champagne for us too!

Review 117:The location is great! I had a small double room for one person which worked very well and functioned perfectly. The staff could not be more accommodating in giving maps, directions and things to do. A welcome fruit basket for my extended stay was a nice touch!

Review 118:We had a triple and the bed was a little short for my adult son. There was a window and shutter system which effectively blocked all outside noise, but if you wanted the windows open the streets below were very noisy.

Review 119:The lady who checked us in couldn't have been nicer. She raised this from what could have been a mediocre hotel to a nice place to stay. Her recommendations for food and sights were very good and it was easy to see she was proud of her city as she explained them to us. The room was clean and there were a nice collection of amenities for our arrival.

Review 120:A softer bed and better quality blanket and bedsheets provided will give this B&B 10/10. Difficult to find the location of the B&B as the signs are not obvious

Review 121:Stayed 2 nights on 11th & 12th April 2015. Upon check in, I was given a map of florence and was told the places of interest to visit & how to get there. Good introduction to the florence. Really useful! Plus there's a supermarket right next to the B&B where u get daily necessities which was very useful to me as the airline lost my luggage upon arrival in Florence. Breakfast was at a nearby cafe, which was pretty decent. Cafe staff was friendly too. :) The reception at the B&B was really super helpful and nice. Room was quite spacious with clean toilet and basic stuff like packets of shampoo, body lotion toothbrush, toothpaste and sets of small and big towels were provided. There were free fruits, tea and bottled water too. Really impressed with the hospitality of this B&B. There was aircon in the room and lots of TV channels as well. Housekeeping was good too.

Review 122:we asked for a quiet room, which we got, and there was certainly very little external noise. However, the noise from fans, showers, toilets from other rooms was a constant irritation

Review 123:the location was very good, there were lots of restaurants nearby. Everything was within walking distance

Review 124:Nothing to say.

Review 125:The personal touch was very much appreciated. The fact that Guilia took time to advise us of the places to visit and which transport to use was good. Best of all, she did so with a genuine smile!!

Review 126:Everything was perfect!

Review 127:Great location near everything. The room was lovely and we had one of the most comfortable beds ever. And our hostess Raphalla (hope I spelled it right) was fantastic!

Review 128:La Residencia dell´Orato is situated a few meters from the railway station so if you are taking a train, is very convenient. The hotel is five minutes from downtown where are the main atractions of Firenze. Very clean and confortable. A bit difficult to find it because it is on the first floor of a build which one does not seems to be an hotel. Reception is closed at 7:00 PM so it is not possible to do a later check-in.

Review 129:None.

Review 130:The welcome fruit basket n complimentary drinks. Hospitable staff. One of them took the initiative to recommend places to visit. Because of her recommendation, we were able to have a picturesque view of the city of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo.

Review 131:Wifi works when we first arrived. On the second day we tried to log in with a different device it doesnt work but the first 2 device which we logged in originally when we first arrive still work. We were only there for 2 nights so didnt bother to go to hostess to ask how to get it to work. It didnt bother us.

Review 132:My mother who's from Thailand and is 55 years old. She liked it. The room is large, clean and relatively new. Location is very convenient. You get breakfast vouchers for you to go a cafe which is located 2 short blocks away from the hotel. The hotel has elevator so helped with moving big luggage up a great deal. Tv works, air conditioning works. Overall very happy. The hostess was helpful. Helped us go through the map on where to go and highlighting in different colors for different purpose i.e. historical sites, shopping etc. All in all very pleased.
