Reviews for Continentale
Review 1:Don't fall for the restaurant list they give you stating local and not touristy....! Do your food home work.
Review 2:Great hotel , Bar , and location.....! Staff was terrific and the the views from the room were simply amazing.
Review 3:The breakfast was in a separate building, this information should be mentioned during reservation to avoid surprises at check in, there was unpleasant smell starting from the lobby till the inside of the room.
Review 4:The location was perfect, everything was around in the most active area. The service at the hotel was ok, since room service is not located in the same building and it takes a while with every order to arrive, the staff were helpful by all means.
Review 5:The only thing at breakfast was more tables needed, sofa's with a coffee table were too low and uncomfortable
Review 6:Everything it was fabulous, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the rooms delightful, location exceptional
Review 7:Part of the hotel lobby had a funky smell possibly due to some sewage/pipes problems? It didn't bother me enough to ask cos the smell didn't travel to the rooms.
Review 8:The hotel is very well designed and the location is great. Love that the sleeping area is separated from the toilets/bath and the small private patio is great.
Review 9:An uber-cool hotel, with very helpful staff, in the heart of Florence. Our room was comfortable and spacious, but we did not pay for a room with a view. We did not eat in the hotel, but the staff recommended some great restaurants nearby. You can walk to all the main sites, the Uffizi, the Duomo and the many beautiful churches.
Review 10:just bit noisy because there is marathon race during our stay
Review 11:all staff are very helpful booking proper restaurants and giving information for sightseeing. Hotel is very chic and cozy Location is just fantastic and many nice restaurants are near there
Review 12:Sometimes it can be a wait for the elevator and it is so small that two people with luggage barely fit.
Review 13:Amazing view and amenities. A first-class hotel with a very helpful staff.
Review 14:The single rooms are tiny. Breakfast room can be crowded with no available seats Not best value for money (but you pay for the location and name, I suppose)
Review 15:Great central location yet one feels secluded once indide tbe hotel Great views from the terrace Very friendly, helpful staff
Review 16:Smell at the lobby Room service is not as the standard of the room, they dont clean the room as they should do
Review 17:Nice staff Room size Fast and free internet Bathroom comfort and design Location
Review 18:Chose this property off site having never been to Florence or Italy. Could not have been more satisfied. They were in communication before I arrived. Accommodated my request for a room with a view and larger bed and upon arrival, without my even requesting it, upgraded me to a Jr. Suite. The staff were fabulous, rooms gorgeous, location excellent and roof top lounge and spa fabulous! I will stay there again and highly recommend.
Review 19:there is never anyone available at the spa desks so we couldn't use the spa. no one even picked up. the reception staff are sometimes not there and sometimes not very friendly but handled our other requests well. the ironing board was a joke. so tiny and nowhere to place it to iron.
Review 20:the room had a perfect view of the river! the amenities were great
Review 21:Liked it all!! There was nothing we didn't like!!
Review 22:Loved everything from start to finish! Really top rate for welcome, service, friendliness, location, confort and design!!! Above all, we adored the outdoor terrazza on top floor (stayed late Sept.) with magnificent views, superb cocktails and excellent barman! We shall definitely be back!
Review 23:The breakfast was adequate. Coffee could be improved. A sugar free cereal would have been appreciated.
Review 24:We had a spacious, comfortable room with a view. The roof terrace bar had spectacular views and was a great place to start and/or end the evening.
Review 25:Incredible location with spectacular views from the room and the rooftop terrace bar. Staff were courteous and friendly. A real bonus was a free upgrade to a suite. I'll certianly be back!
Review 26:If you arriving the hotel by car make sure you call them prior your arrival to get the directions and Avoid ZTL area.
Review 27:excellent location with amazing view of Arno river and 1 min walking to Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Review 28:The only downside was the bathroom door which had an annoying high squeeking noise whenever opened.
Review 29:The location was very convenient and close to most of Florence highlights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the best deep tissue massage experience, very professional and worth the 100 euros I paid for the 60 minutes session.
Review 30:Location is excellent! The staff was extremely helpful. I realised onthe train to Rome that I had left my jewellery in the room safe. Iimmediately called and they retrieved the jewellery, inventoried it, andheld it in the hotel safe for my pick up. Rooftop bar was wonderful too.
Review 31:Poor facilities. Needs a proper bar/cafe on the ground floor . 6th floor bar is very pretentious and very expensive. No chairs in room. Silly boards in sink and shower. Needs a bigger lift. Lots of street noise.
Review 32:Good breakfast.
Review 33:All in all, I'd say it was quite expensive, though if you're staying for 2-3 days I'd stay it's still worth it. The roof patio is not open 24hours unfortunately, and in fact even though it is stated to be open till 4 am, when we went up at about 1:30 it has already been closed.
Review 34:Location! It is simply perfect. Best you can think of if you stay in Florence. The room is very romantic, wonderful for couples on a romantic trip around Italy.
Review 35:I would highly recommend Hotel Continentale- I stayed here with my boyfriend for three nights in August 2015. Great location in the heart of Florence and easy walking distance to all the major tourist attractions and restaurants. The staff were really friendly and able to assist with all of our needs. It was my boyfriend's birthday during our stay and we came back to a complementary bottle of Prosecco and handwritten note which we thought was a lovely touch. The rooftop bar is lovely with a good selection of drinks and complimentary nibbles. Other reviews have said that prices are too expensive but with a view of the Arno river and the sunset it seemed reasonable and definitely worth a visit.
Review 36:Only this time I paid more then priviously may be due to the season.
Review 37:I am coming to this hotel second time and I like it , it's clean, nice Desing inside the room, amazing location, friendly and helpful stuff. Good as always.
Review 38:Hotel did not volunteer 2nd key for our rooms, which later caused hassles when our group split up with differing return times to the hotel.
Review 39:Room size, excellent bathroom, great toiletries offered.
Review 40:We would have liked to have a drink at the roof top bar but the 2 times we tried it was full which was a shame because its one of the reasons we chose to stay at this particular hotel.
Review 41:We really enjoyed the location of the hotel being close to all the shopping and restaurants. Our room was modern and spacious for European standards. The decor was simple but very tasteful. We'll definitely recommend this hotel to our travelling friends.
Review 42:Fabulous hotel in a fantastic location, close to everything including shops bars and restaurants, La Terrazza bar on the hotel roof is very cool, you must try it. Staff lovely.
Review 43:we stayed for one night on a two day visit the hotel is in a prime location for touring the city, in the evening we had a very enjoyable pre meal drink on the roof terrace and returned for a drink after our meal to finnish off a most enjoyable stay. the hotel is 1st class and I have seldom met a more professional polite friendly and pleasant staff,
Review 44:Not enough supplies in the bathroom, too difficult to reach by car, had to hire a taxi to follow to the hotel location.wish that they supply complementary water on arrival and coffee set in the rooms.
Review 45:Room style, bed, location, staff
Review 46:Outside noise was horrible with all windows/doors closed. Heard everything from the street even though we were on 4th floor. Resulted in 4 nights of constant sleep interruption.
Review 47:The hotel was located in the heart of Florence with great walking access to many of the points of interest. The room was very chic and clean.
Review 48:Nothing really.
Review 49:The really helpful guy who welcomed us & put us in a cab when we left. Really interesting lifts. The roof top bar was great with great service.
Review 50:Perfect stay... nothing to not like!
Review 51:Everything. Friendly staff (gave us a free upgrade and champagne bottle once they knew we were on our honeymoon), the view, the room and the location.
Review 52:The shower alternated between the temperature I chose and absolutely frigid cold water in 30 second intervals. It was really awful. There was a high pitched sound which indicated the cold water was coming so you knew to step out of the way. Perhaps something wasn't functioning but it was not pleasant unfortunately.
Review 53:We were upgraded to a room overlooking the Ponte Vecchio and Arno River. It was beautiful, quiet, clean, comfortable. There was plenty of room for storing/hanging clothing. The bed was comfortable.
Review 54:Very tired rooms. Need to do some refurbishments to charge that much. Very overpriced. Couldnt sleep in 1st floor room all night due to the outside noise, shower was also leaking, toilet didnt flush properly. They upgraded us for free to 5th floor to bigger room, slept better the other night, but rooms still had some small faults. Overall, we stayed in much better hotels for that price.
Review 55:Location is good. Room style is white and ok.
Review 56:Nothing
Review 57:We stayed there for the new year and my birthday and everything about the hotel was great. The staff are outstanding and the location very central. We were celebrating my birthday and received a complimentary bottle of wine.
Review 58:very, very expensive bar on therase :( prices are not acceptable, realy nonsense :(
Review 59:Hotel is amazing, everything perfect, place, personal, everything. This hotel is in top 3 hotel which i ever visit :)
Review 60:Historical location and in the middle of the Market and near to the river. Team are very helpful and never experienced such quality services in any other hotel worldwide. I consider my stay was among family members.
Review 61:Double bed is made of 2 split beds, no free bottles of water, almost no benefits for guests in Spa, some drilling noice.
Review 62:Nice stylish hotel, friendly staff, good location
Review 63:I stayed in two different rooms during my stay. I much preferred theArno River view room, but ask for a room higher up, as it is right on abusy street.
Review 64:Proximity to sites, breakfast can be eaten at any of their fourproperties, front desk staff, attentiveness of staff, immediate responseto requests, willingness to help, big bathrooms for European standards, block out miniblinds for the windows.
Review 65:Roof top bar way to expensive (16 euro for aperol spritz, cheapestbottle wine 30 euro, no food), also the breakfast is very little
Review 66:Great Location, nice hotel, friendly stuff
Review 67:Hotel smells of drains Noisy rooms Noisy relaxation room Thin towels Only one electrical socket Poor minibar Small, noisy public areas
Review 68:Modern, stylish room
Review 69:The location is just perfect, the staff more than lovely. We were upgraded and had the most awesome room we ever experienced. They take care of every detail, there were even plates and a bed for the dog. The room was huge, an amazing bed, great decoration and furnitures. Just a perfect stay! The view from the bar is just mind blowing.
Review 70:The Staff were unbelievably helpfully and very courteous. especially the Concierge. Room was well appointed and the view was to die for. Bathroom amenities way ahead of major 5 star hotels I have stayed in the past. Great Designer Hotel and Location was superb. Open Roof top bar was the highlight. To be experienced at sunset overlooking Firenze and the river Arno.
Review 71:As with many high class hotels - there were no tea/coffee making or ironing facilities in the room. However, this did not detract very much from our stay.
Review 72:We had a wonderful room overlooking the Arno. One of the best rooms we have ever stayed in - exquisitely furnished on a very modern theme. Very relaxing. Very helpful staff.
Review 73:Lift was too small and sometimes difficult to call. Check in was a bit disorganised
Review 74:Front office staff let us down a couple of times - charged us for breakfast for 2 days special even though we only ate there 1 day. Also they booked an upmarket restaurant for us and did not advise of the formal dress code so we felt underdressed.
Review 75:Location and roof top bar
Review 76:Could use a bit of a redesign on the glass shower partition... It was impossible to take a shower without getting water on the floor
Review 77:Great rooftop bar and very approachable and accommodating staff! We loved being here and will go back the next time in Florence :)
Review 78:Small windows but great views We were not told about breakfasting in other hotels, we found out thanks to another guest.
Review 79:Location Roof terrace- but drinks are expensive Able to use breakfast option at other Lungarno hotels
Review 80:The lobby area is small, sparsely decorated and unimpressive. One would never think that such wonderful rooms are up above! The elevator was quite small as are most in Italy.
Review 81:The view to start was so charming with vistas of the Arno River. The rooms were wonderfully large, the decor was contemporary and elegant with white draping around the bed. There was a lovely bottle of champagne waiting for us when we arrived. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We also loved the view from the rooftop terrace. Would definitely stay there again!!!
Review 82:you must call the desk to have your room temperature changed. don't depend on a wake up call! some older couples may have trouble with their combersome airline ticket print out proceedure--they hand you a lap top and ask you to email them your ticket.
Review 83:very nice location
Review 84:Luxury hotel in the centre of Florence allowing a relaxed stay high above the hustle & bustle of the street...particularly loved the roof terrace (although a tad expensive) and the relaxation room on the 1st floor full of relaxation beds and beautiful books...fabulous..x
Review 85:The hotel has only 1 elevator, which means, you can wait a few minutes for it if you want to go up or down... Consideration should be put in installing a 2nd elevator. We had a incident with the room cleaning, which we reported the same day. The following day the hotels' management expressed their sincere regret to the incident and offered a generous compensation. Something we didn't really think off, but we're very delighted to see how far the hotel can go to keep their guests happy and to interest them in coming back. Which will do the next time in Florence.
Review 86:The room was nicely furnished and had very comfortable beds. Breakfast was nice too and had the facility to use the other sister hotels (all within a few minutes walk) breakfast facilities.. The Roof Terrace offered amazing views and a great service. The hotel management is amazing, a 5/5 on customer management and retention.
Review 87:The rooftop deck closed early.
Review 88:Friendly helpful staff, great location, wonderful rooftop deck, and a great price Had an incredible time!!!! Stay in 701
Review 89:Amazing service. greeted warmly on arrival and taken to a lovely room. Staff were excellent and I would definitely come back again. Lovely relaxing bar on the 6th floor. The lady that managed our check out was exceptional and even came out of the hotel to give us directions to our next destination. If only all hotels were as good at this,
Review 90:The one thing that was missing, or perhaps we just didn't find, was a book with the details of the hotel, times for breakfast etc, suggested places to go and how to get around by local transport etc.
Review 91:Helpful staff Great location Very clean & comfortable room Great rooftop bar
Review 92:The hotel is in the middle of everything. It's modern, clean and fun. The staff is welcoming bit not intrusive. There are some great areas to sit and relax and enjoy the contemporary design.
Review 93:Breakfast is ok but not cool. Hotel in total gets a little but old, but is still quite cool. Hard to find with car. Parking is 35€ per day
Review 94:Perfect Location Wonderful Room after upgrade Good style Cool rooftop bar
Review 95:noise at night although can be expected as opposite the bridge
Review 96:Great location opposite pont veche Great design hotel and excellent room Upgraded to deluxe room
Review 97:What a place, from arrival to departure the place was a dream. Helpful staff, stunning views and superb facilities in the most mesmerising location. A river view is key with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence. We will be back
Review 98:Our bar fridge died but was not fixed or replaced.
Review 99:Terrific location. Wonderful view of the Arno! Great recommendation for a Florentine steak restaurant. Wonderful terrace bar.
Review 100:The windows were very small. It promised a view of the river but the windows were only a couple of feet square so you couldn't see the river unless you peered through individually. Rooms service cover charge at E10 was very heavy as was the charge for breakfast at E28 each. Also the bar on the top floor had no view when you were sitting down.
Review 101:the interior design was nice, light and modern.
Review 102:Room was beautiful but a little cramped with the big 4 poster bed.
Review 103:The Central location & friendly helpful staff. Loved the decor too.
Review 104:the location is perfect, just beside the old bridge. the stuff is nice.
