Reviews for Hotel J and J
Review 1:They need to check all of the light bulbs are working in the rooms and if the spa jets are broken in the bath they need fixing.
Review 2:A lovely hotel, very well presented with a great breakfast thrown in. Interesting decor and the staff were great.
Review 3:Lovely hotel, great location just minutes from the action. The curly haired girl on reception went way beyond the call of duty, she was so helpful in helping us with restaurants, booking trips etc, nothing was too much bother. The guys looking after breakfast and bags were great too!
Review 4:Nothing bad, just location is a little far from the duomo. But it's Florence every thing is in walking distance in the city.
Review 5:The breakfast is very good. The room is comfy and clean. Staffs are warm and helpful! Really enjoy staying here!
Review 6:The staff were very helpful and friendly, in particular when we missed breakfast they still provided some. The location is within easy walking distance of the main sights.
Review 7:Very welcoming staff. The hotel is in a great location; far enough out of the centre to ensure a good nights sleep, but just 10 minutes on foot to the heart of Florence. There's a great courtyard area full of plants for breakfast or drinks.
Review 8:Airco couldn't get cold enough Not in the middle of the city centre Breakfast was average
Review 9:Atmosphere is great Unique, comfortable rooms Small, but cosy Nice building and patio Friendly staff Good value for money
Review 10:Whilst the wifi was free it was virtually useless.
Review 11:The building is really quirky and full of character. Our room at the top of the building was huge. beautifully done & really comfortable. The continental breakfast had plenty of variety & was served in the gorgeous breakfast room.
Review 12:If you want all the comforts of home, stay in the Marriot. But if you can handle some beautiful old stone stairs showing wear from many decades of use, originally by nuns, it's woderful. After all, the bell man carries your bags, and all you have to do is enjoy the charm!
Review 13:SO in the middle of things. The Duomo is a 5 minute walk away, as are a number of wonderful restaurants. Staff is incredibly helpful. Comfy, and absolutely charming.
Review 14:Location was amazing, 5 minutes for Duomo and close to the best restaurants in the city. picked it by chance but is far better than the other side of the city (train station) nor the center (very busy & loud). store staff helpful and Decoration was beautiful. Comfortable experience without unnecessary luxury etc.
Review 15:When we arrive at the hotel, the first surprise was the 86 steps to go to our room (Room 10). The room is very old fashion, the heater is not enogth heat the room. The room don't have a blackout blinds, so you will wake up 6:30 with the sun light in your face. The carpet is terrible, don't looks so clean and smell mold.
Review 16:We didn't like nothing at all.
Review 17:the lights in the bathroom not bright enough.Breakfast is average, could be better. It could do with a nice proper bar for relaxing with a drink.
Review 18:Its a boutique style hotel with homely atmosphere and quality fitting.
Review 19:Nothing but if you drive a car the parking is 30 euro/day and thereare no elevators but don't worry the will carry the bags.
Review 20:Location is near the center yet quite. The suite is big and seating areais perfect. Near by restaurants and markets and also one kebabrestaurant that is opened 24 hours.
Review 21:The chairs and tables in the breakfast room feel like they have been made for very small people in the Middle Ages ! The walls of our room seemed to be very thin and we could hear ALL the noises in the adjacent bedrooms and even the one on the first floor ! There was also some serious street noise in the morning.....
Review 22:The hotel is an old building. Our room was fairly ordinary, but there are certainly nicer rooms available. The breakfast was excellent and cosy. The outside terrace is a good place for a quiet glass of wine prior to bedtime. The location is a good 10-15' walk from the main attractions in Firenze.
Review 23:I didn't like much of anything about this hotel. The staff was okay but there was not a sense of feeling welcome. They did their job but the six days we stayed there I kept saying to myself "this place is weird". I can't quite describe why...I would have liked to move to a different hotel but Florence was jammed with tourists.
Review 24:The hotel was recommended by my sister who said it would be much quieter than staying closer to the center. It was quiet; however, there is no elevator and we were assigned rooms that required climbing a steep staircase and walking out onto an outside passageway. There was a musty odor in the rooms, the carpets had probably not been washed in years. There was only a tiny wardrobe for hanging clothes and no drawers at all. My husband had a separate room that was located on another floor and required climbing yet another steep staircase. On the third night he was bitten by fleas and I sported two bites.
Review 25:An occasional weird noise coming from next room's AC unit. Beware of rooms on the ground floor that open straight onto the patio (and thus the breakfast area).
Review 26:Our room (number 6) was lovely, spacious and charmingly decorated. Location is excellent: a small and quiet side street that is only 10-15 minutes walk from most key things to visit in the city (Duomo, etc.).
Review 27:Such a cute and romantic hotel! They were very accomadting and kind. Great breakfast buffet!
Review 28:Breakfast
Review 29:The hotel and all the decoration Room was big Design bathroom
Review 30:Shower set up awkward with leak to floor. RM 2
Review 31:Liked everything but shower leaking. Laura is great. Property eminates simple understated elegance.
Review 32:Design, location
Review 33:No tea facilities in room, wifi not brilliant on top floor
Review 34:Location, quirky, traditional
Review 35:Bath / shower slippery for a senior citizen.
Review 36:Hotel's historic character and furnishings.
Review 37:No coffee or tea or drink water in the room. Poor food to eat in breakfast and no restaurant in hotel.
Review 38:The room photos do not correspond to that of booking.com. The parking a bit expensive!
Review 39:Service and staff
Review 40:Witch cost a lot. Aperol spritz is 8euro.
Review 41:Spacious room.
Review 42:Our rooms were very large and stylish. Location was excellent. Perfect place to stay.
Review 43:we are a couple in are early 40 just returned from j & j hotel, we stayed there 4 amazing nights the location is excelent , walking distans from all touriest places , safe at night , the hotel staff are just GREAT !!! helpfull and kind (the best capuccino in whol florence ) , nice breakfast and beautifull rooms : it was worth it !
Review 44:Breakfast could have been better however I think it is generally the continental style so nothing specific to J&J
Review 45:Beautiful decor and boutique feel.
Review 46:The property boasted "satellite" television, therefore we were lead to believe that there would be English speaking television channels. There was only one, CNN... which was great ... but no movie channels in English.
Review 47:This is a BEAUTIFUL property!! Staff is extremely professional and gracious.
Review 48:Wifi didnt really work in the room which was dissapointing
Review 49:Design layout and privacy were all great and it was really nice to have a patio garden off the bedroom
Review 50:No elevators, food is not allowed in the room, no iron, no kettle. No wireless only cable.
Review 51:Room size, quietness, near the city centre and shopping area. Staff were friendly.
Review 52:Staff at breakfast was more busy talking than tending to the tables. Otherwise no significant negative points.
Review 53:Quite charming hotel. Huge rooms in a typical Firenze style. Excellent value for money also.
Review 54:Unfortunately I was there end of July and even if there was a air condition in the room, it was very old and almost always the room was very hot. I said to the reception about it but the couldn't do something. The breakfast veeeeeery poor comparing to the money that we were paying every day.
Review 55:I liked a lot the traditional atmosphere inside and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 56:Nothing!
Review 57:We had the top suite and it was ridiculously large! Beautiful, spacious with a large balcony. Location was great - 10 minute walk to the Duomo and David. Wonderful breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Very clean.
Review 58:A small point but important. I am an architect and I found that the designer bathroom looked good but was not completely practical. With regard to the bath /shower; it was difficult to shower properly without wetting the bath mat and floor. It would be a simple matter to provide an additional sliding screen, or curtain, without spoiling the design concept.
Review 59:For my modest (< E150 per night) budget I was given a huge two level luxury suite, with internal balcony. It was the most attractive hotel 'room' I have ever stayed in. My suite was so impressive I had to give several friends a tour. The other accommodation in the hotel is also of a high standard, and bearing in mind the hotel's central location it is very quiet.
Review 60:No elevator!! The main issue is the elevator!! My parents are old andwhen we asked them to change the room they said we are fully booked. Inthe reviews there were nothing written about the elevator so that's wasthe real problem, I wouldn't consider it as a 4 star hotel! Espiciallythat it was very expensive!!!
Review 61:Only the decorations
Review 62:The room we received was quite nice but rather simple with hardly any day light. Rooms photographed in the internet and in the hotel brochure appear much more luxurious. I was not aware if there were different room categories.
Review 63:Boutique historic hotel near to the city center having a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
Review 64:breakfast poor
Review 65:superbe suite
Review 66:Poor value for money, query 4* rating.
Review 67:Located within walking distance to most major galleries and shops.
Review 68:It was cold and without heat
Review 69:Concept of the hotel and Location is very good.
Review 70:Nothing
Review 71:Very nice hotel in excellent position.
Review 72:Wifi weak in room. Had to enter username & password for each use.
Review 73:Large room
Review 74:Could have a coffee machine in the riom
Review 75:Close but not in the centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Good size rooms
Review 76:Room and shared areas very nicely decorated, staff very friendly and helpful. Well located, 10 min walking from Il Dumo and other main attractions.
Review 77:good service good environment nice rooms
Review 78:The staff is very available to every question asked. Room clean and beautiful
Review 79:great Boutique hotel with great location that is close to the town yet is quiet. the rooms are so spacious .. you feel at home
