Reviews for Flannery's Hotel

Review 1:The type of music for a Saturday night gathering. It was too old fashioned. Songs like 'Galway Bay' are more for tourists.

Review 2:The quiet room on the ground floor

Review 3:A little far out but the hotel had a taxi phone foc so a short taxi ride sorted that out but everything was perfect.

Review 4:The hotel was beautiful, the staff we exceptional especially the young barman with the glasses,a true professional, we ate of the bar menu and the food was beautiful, room was ground floor and was perfect, everything was perfect, will defiantly return soon, thank you

Review 5:Just a bit too far out of town so had to get a taxi if we wanted a night out but no big deal

Review 6:The lovely chef Phil went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He made us a cajun chicken pizza and the most amazing pavalova well after midnight even though the room service finished at 11pm. Phil was a delight!

Review 7:Hotel is fine, nothing wrong as such but overall staff unwilling or unable to go that extra mile that makes a hotel stand out from the many others that have extras such as gym/pools or are closer to centre. Not a hotel for scenery. View of a wall.

Review 8:Room very clean. CLEANING STAFF VERY friendly, helpful and accomodating. Reception and waiting staff ok wouldn't have me raving about it.

Review 9:I would like if there was a pool available and there was an opinion for room service but it was no available on this particular weekend

Review 10:The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful and nice

Review 11:We were both very welcomed when we first arrived. Our room was lovely with a lovely view. We went for food in the restaurant on our last night, our server was excellent efficient and our food was fantastic.

Review 12:All the staff were so courteous, we were made very welcome from the minute we arrived, until the time we checked out. The food is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable... Many thanks to Flannery's Happy New Year!

Review 13:Didn't sleep all night with noise rows in nearly every room and shouting was put on ground floor beside all of this. Night porter must be deaf or asleep. Would never stay there again.Receptionist could certainly show more interest in her job and not looked so bored or unwelcoming.

Review 14:Room was clean, and hotel.Bar food looked good but didn't eat in hotel.

Review 15:Could be a little more attentive in the restaurant esp at breakfast when one has to wait for the tea for about 20-25 mins.

Review 16:Food very good, pleasant staff especially some of the bar staff.

Review 17:No bad experience at all. Certain areas could do with a renovation, but it was fine.

Review 18:Large room and bathroom, comfy bed, good lighting, good food, excellent staff, great location for my purposes (close to Merlin Park hospital) and good value.

Review 19:A little dated but spotlessly clean.

Review 20:Bus stop into city at hotel entrance with regular service and about 2.20€one way. Excellent value for money with a nice bar. Didb'the eat there so can't comment on food.

Review 21:nothing, everything good

Review 22:As soon as we checked in we asked for an iron rather than a trouser press. It was delivered to the door, along with an ironing board as quickly as it took us to walk down the hallway to the room

Review 23:Small and very uncomfortable double bed. The coffee served at breakfast is just brown hot water, they really should be able to served good coffee.

Review 24:Good location friendly staff and clean room

Review 25:Rude night Staff, accommodation staff just walked in to the room in the morning despite of the fact of late check-out arranged day before

Review 29:yes the service in the breakfast room was very poor we had to wait more than 20 minutes for our pot of tea after asking the head waitress twice we had to ask a another waiter who served us with our long awaited tea when we had eaten our full irish breakfast..

Review 30:the atmosphere was very good with a nice relaxed feeling in the hotel.

Review 31:Dining room at breakfast could have been cleaner. Two cups on our table and both dirty. Glasses provided for juice were washed (poorly) but not dried

Review 32:Staff very welcoming and accomodating.

Review 33:I felt on arrival that reception could use an upgrade its a bit shabby. The bedrooms definitely need extra pillows.

Review 35:I always stay at Flannerys when I need to stay over in the city for work outings. They are the best value for money. The place is always spotless and comfortable and staff are always very nice.

Review 36:General areas (corriders to bedrooms) rather tired and glum.

Review 37:Bar with fire, great food, tv and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Room clean and comfortable. Bathroom had only a shower and was modern and very clean. A couple of queries with reception very well resolved. All staff friendly and helpful.

Review 39:Some Staff were very rude and the night porter was very obnoxious to us! Other staff were very nice.

Review 40:Good value for money, room service and food was brilliant. Good other than that. Average hotel nothing special.

Review 41:Noisy room on the 4th floor to the back, sounded like rattle in the attic all night, maybe wind-related, but should be addressed. General decor a bit dated but rooms were up to date.

Review 42:Friendly staff, modernised bedrooms.

Review 43:I had asked for a ground floor and was put on the fourth floor at very end room was for four ppl,but only catered for three.

Review 44:Bar was lovely, hotel in general was nice

Review 45:great value for money .room very comfortable with free wifi and good tv. that's all I needed. Great also that breakfast is optional so a nice lie in was perfect.

Review 47:Everything. Stayed here for a night. We had 3 rooms booked as a group of friends. We even got breakfast in bed the following morning

Review 48:our room was very cold when we arrived so we put it down to just arriving half an hour early, but we went in to town and came back to a freezing room we had to go to the bar and spend more money to warm up.

Review 49:good location

Review 50:Thought reception staff i general could be a bit more friendly and welcoming...double bed in our room was two singles together..not a proper double.

Review 51:Liked the breakfast.didnt have any meals there. Didnt use facilities.liked the lay out of triple room

Review 52:Just one little issue as I haven't stayed before I wasn't aware of breakfast format. I was seated and wasn't informed it was self service as I had my back to room it wasn't until I heard staff member explain to other guests.

Review 53:Very accessible.very comfortable room and very clean friendly staff.

Review 54:Good location with free parking, very clean, great food, excellent staff, free wifi. All in all a very well ran establishment. Just a short taxi ride to the heart of city.

Review 55:Nice hotel. The room had everything I wanted, and was spotless. The staff were very obliging and friendly. Plenty of parking available. Even when there were events in the bar the room was peaceful.

Review 56:Most of the staff seemed to be huddled into reception and 1 staff member working in the bar! The manager seemed to spend our entire stay on the phone outside reception and at one stage was making an apology for some mess up on a trainee's behalf!! Slightly unprofessional to do it on front of guests!

Review 57:The bed was nice and big

Review 58:Heat needs to come on @5/30 FOR WINTER MOMTHS..not. 7/30..

Review 59:Great breakfast..friendly ..Irish staff.overall non intrusive.yet attentions to details.Really Good Bar food.

Review 65:It was very clean. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 66:I don't really write reviews but must on this as this hotel was lovely from the minute I arrived till I left. Food was beautiful in th bar in the evening and room cleaned everyday

Review 67:Choice for breakfast and the price

Review 68:On complaining about a noisy party happening in the corridor at 2 am it was dealt with quickly. Staff were always polite and smiling

Review 69:Staff were great - very friendly and helpful. My friend and I got back to the hotel at 3am and the man on duty overheard us talking about how we were starving and would love a crisp sandwich and he got some for us! We were very impressed! Thank you. Great (and quirky) service that we won't forget.

Review 70:The night porter was extremely rude when we retuned home. Our friend who was staying in another hotel had to retrieve some belongings from our room. 5 minutes after us getting to the room our phone rang and the night porter asked who's card should he card for the extra person staying in our room? Extremely rude.

Review 71:The hotel was great.. Reception and bar staff were fab.. And the room was perfect!

Review 72:Myself and my wife traveled to your hotel for a short break to celebrate my birthday, the hotel was so comfortable and all the staff were fantastic, other hotels could learn from this

Review 73:Room in real need of up dating. draft in window because of the window would not close properly, the beds and mattresses all need to be renewed, carpet also needs a very good clean or be renewed. bad smell in corridor on the way to and from room.

Review 74:Ground floor area is very nice, good size room. friendly staff.

Review 75:Staff particularly in the restaurant lacked genuine friendliness. When my tea and toast were delivered to the table, staff's greeting was "There". Two American gentlemen arrived in for breakfast (which they had not pre-booked) staff stated "You have not got breakfast with your room" (Standard statement, but the tone was all wrong) The gentleman agreed ,but requested if he could now stay for breakfast. the reply from staff was "WELL you have to pay now then!!!" the gentleman replied "of course I'm going to pay" and produced his credit card. She stated "Huuuh!!! now i have to get the machine from reception" It came across as such an inconvenience

Review 76:I have stayed a number of times before. The location is very convenient for my work when I am in the area. (I work in Quality Management Systems and Food Safety)

Review 77:kids had to be out of the bar by 7...didn't bother us as we didn't go in but might be an issue for some

Review 78:Family room was very big...loads of space for my 3 kids. Rooms were very nicely decorated

Review 79:Paid for kingsize supperior room. Nothig superior about it.. Everything squished together. Room didn have an iron so clothes wernt good. The view was of the back of another building. Overall a terrible 2 nights... Highly recommend the radison blu however cheaper and better rooms! Will not be back!!

Review 80:Leaving the place to go home

Review 81:It took almost two weeks and calls from states to hotel to resolve a billing question

Review 82:All of the facilities were good. Not great but crtainly adequate. The staff in general was competent

Review 83:disappointed only to find out when I got to the check in desk that they wanted money up front and that there was no swimming or gym facilities ... this is not stated on their web site.... kids very disappointed. there was however one locally to go to minutes from hotel.

Review 84:The place was clean and food was excellent and staff was very friendly

Review 85:Service in the bar for food and the service at breakfast the next morning wasn't bad but definitely lacked a friendly atmosphere.

Review 86:The room and the general ambiance of the hotel.

Review 87:I didn't like that it was far out from the town and there was no leisure facitites

Review 88:The staff at the hotel were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful. In particular there was one bar tender Dean who stood out for us, he is a true gent and helped us with everything we needed.

Review 89:Staff wanted every payment up front before you had even had the service of what you were paying for example breakfast. €159 for the night was very expensive as services were generally poor and cleanliness of room was poor and delapadated, marks on the wall and can't see how they justify the price which was the general consensus of our group

Review 90:Location was not bad

Review 91:There are no rules for people who make noise in the corridors, while other people sleeping. Sometime they run and make lot of noise in the corridors after 1 am.

Review 92:Wind was coming through the window. Old decoration.

Review 93:Great value for money ! Bit far from the city centre but bus station right outside the hotel. Coffee and tea in the room. Nice cozy pub for residents and very friendly helpful stuff !

Review 94:Trying to exit the hotel onto the main road can be a little manic at peak times but that's just been picky.

Review 95:The staff are a credit to the management, they were very friendly and helpful and always looking to improve your experience. The hotel is ideally located with easy access to local attractions

Review 96:The staff were fantastic. Hotel was really nice especially the bedroom and the bar. The food was very tasty. Although the hotel is not in the city centre, the bus stops right outside it's €2 and takes about 10mins depending on traffic.

Review 97:Bathroom too dark. Shower only Luke warm. Decor of hotel tired and dated. In need of decoration.

Review 98:Good bar food. Good value. Good location. Staff friendly. Clean room and comfortable bed.

Review 104:Location of the hotel is great , bar food v good rooms v clean , only thing was having to q at the door of the dining room in the morning for breakfast,,, but the breakfast was worth waiting for 10/10 ,,,

Review 105:Parking was a bit tight but adequate. There is sufficient parking spaces, but we saw cars driving around the carpark waiting for someone to go to use their space.

Review 106:Great location and convenient for getting to and from The Burren and Cliffs of Moher and that general coastline area. The staff were friendly and the food for breakfast was great. The bar was great for Irish food and local ales and wines in the evening.

Review 107:The Flannery is in a good location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble when we asked staff for information and help.

Review 108:Cleaning staff were very loud outside room in morning even with 'Do not Disturb' they continued to shout across to each other

Review 109:Close proximity to city centre and fine Irish food

Review 110:Bumper-to-bumper traffic on Dublin Road would have been problematic if driving to the town centre.

Review 111:Proximity to city & availability of public transport. Friendly, helpful staff. On-site dining facilities.

Review 112:The bathroom needs updating and some ventilation of some sort.

Review 113:Excellent location, free parking, free wifi and the room was what I woukd class as 4 star except for the bathroom. But it wasn't a major put off. Staff at reception very welcoming. Overall superb hotel!

Review 114:Their registering process. I only stay here when my regular place is booked out.

Review 115:It was just another place to put the head down for the night. (one of 60 /70 nights a year)

Review 116:Bus stop was right out front on the street. The front desk staff were exceptional and the cleaning staff were excellent. Food service and restaurant staff were first rate as well. No complaints or issues. Excellent service all round.

Review 128:Very noisy on the Sat night..Sounded like a party or disco. If I was staying again I would request a room that would be well away from any such noise.

Review 129:We had problem with noise on the first night. Loud thumping music until 1.30 However when we spoke to the Manager, Rod the following day he upgraded us to a suite for the second night and gave us free breakfast. We really appreciated the fact that he was concerned about our comfort. Also I got lost on way to Hotel . I telephoned the hotel and was helped by a very friendly receptionist.

Review 130:The bathroom too small unable to use sink tap to big and lettuce very soggy at dinner ... Very noisy at night no air conditioner
