Reviews for Zostel Agra
Review 1:Only had one blanket on our bed! No top sheet or doona (duvet) !
Review 2:It had a huge backyard with 2 puppies and it's mum they rescued from the streets! Easy walk to the Taj Mahal! Chocolate pancakes were great! Very cheap tariff and nice staff! Great value
Review 3:Room (double room) is very small. No any furnuture at all in the room - only the bed, so no place to put anywere clothes, books, gadgets and so on, very uncomfortable.
Review 4:Location in a walk distance to the Taj. Staff - helpful and hospitable. Nice public places - garden, hall and cafe.
Review 5:private rooms are not very clean, very poor soundproofing, bad gaps in the window making the rooms very cold on winter nights; hot water is only available at certain times of the day; food served in the cafe was ok, waiting time was too long & we waited 45mins for our breakfast; wifi doesn't work most of the time
Review 6:warm & cosy little cafe; friendly & helpful staff; walking distance to Taj Mahal
Review 7:Room was not clean properly, TV was not working.hot water time also fix in morning 6am to 12pm & in night 6pm to 12pm in winter season also. In hotel no availability for lunch but dinner are available, basically this is not a hotel this is hostel.one more thing is the mobile no they have given on internet is not working.another water for bathroom purpose was very bad.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Rooms are basic. AC is not suitable for winter. The room is not soundproof at all. ( They claim it is sound proof). You can always hear someone talking. Don't go in for the room.
Review 10:They have a beautiful cafeteria with delicious food. Good library and common area. Excellent staff.
Review 11:Too loud, too dirty. I've paid too much for what i got! Wrong info given at the reception about the opening time of the taj mahal...
Review 12:Close to the eastern gate of the Taj Mahal (1km). Nice green and coffe area in the garden
Review 13:The western-oriented hostel is a "franchise" and lacks Indian flair and atmosphere.
Review 14:In a lot of Indian cities Zostel offers high quality hostels, almost European standard. Very clean and comfortable. So also in Agra. I had a great stay there and the staff was fantastic!
Review 15:Would be even better if they served Indian food in the cafe!
Review 16:The best thing by far is the fact that it's only a ten minute walk to the Taj Mahal, which is probably the main purpose of most peoples visit. Staff was really nice, and there's a big front yard to hang out, with a little cage that serves very affordable meals :)
Review 17:The hostel is a very noisy place and not easy to get a good nights sleep. This isn't due to partying, but loud staff talking at full volume and playing music at all hours of the night and very thin doors and walls. When travelers would check in late at night, staff would turn on the bright overhead lights in a dorm room and talk to them at full volume, inevitably waking up every sleeping person. Happened both nights I stayed there. Staff were also quite surly. Overall poor experience.
Review 18:Nice cafe and grounds, good backpacker vibe. Beds were decent.
Review 19:Hot water is regulated to morning and evening hours.
Review 20:Helpful, friendly and honest staff. Helped us book bus tickets and ensure proper arrangements. Room was clean, tidy and bathroom was clean and had soap and some toilet paper. About 5mins walk to Taj Mahal ticket counter and another 20mins walk to East Gate of Taj Mahal - down one road, very easy.
Review 21:Room was pretty dirty. And beds as hard as rock.
Review 22:Really awesome staff and perfect locating to the taj, wifi worked great and a cool chill out cafe on site.
Review 23:Plug at my bed didn't work, wifi only at lobby but not a huge issue
Review 24:Clean rooms with AC and fan. A huge garden to chill out. A great place to meet other travellers
Review 25:Wifi didn't work in the rooms and dropped out on the lobby. The best place for wifi was in the common room.
Review 26:Great location. 10mins walk from the east gate of the Taj Mahal. Clean and comfortable dorms. Hot water in the shower. Staff were really friendly and Sid even bought Petha for us to try before we left. Would definitely go to any Zostel in India!
Review 27:The walls are not soundproof in the double rooms with shared bathroom. We can hear the adjacent room very well.
Review 28:The ambiance is great as there is a lot of travelers.
Review 29:Everything in the room description is a lie. 36 sq. meters? Yeah, right, all rooms are 10–12 meters in fact. City view? We had a window, opening into concrete shaft. Safe? No. Soundproofing? This is some kind of cruel joke, as they have absolutely worst sound proofing I've seen in India so far (and in general standards are not very high here). So you will hear every conversation in the lobby (and this being a backpacker place you can expect bunch of people sitting there and talking quite late into the night). Wi-Fi is very slow, unreliable and during our 4 day stay there it would stop working every day, sometimes for hours. Also dining options in the neighborhood are very limited, overpriced and poor quality.
Review 30:Friendly staff, nice garden, quite clean.
Review 31:I likes everything except the fact that I couldn't stay longer! :-)
Review 32:The staff at Zostel Agra is extremely helpful and friendly, the room was Ok, food was excellent and it is very close to the Taj Mahal which is great. I recommend Zostel Agra!
Review 33:Staff working here is absolutely amazing! They are all so well informed, helpfull at all occasions and with all the informations we needed. They are being kind even when we show up at 5am for early check in,and they give us their staff room cause ours is not ready yet, and we woke up all the staff from their rest period-even then they are being kind and perfectly nice! This place is amazing all together, concept, restaurant, athmosphere-we will search for Zostel accomodation everywhere we go from now on!!!! :DDD
Review 34:WiFi could be stronger and in the rooms.
Review 35:The staff was extremely helpful and gave great advice on everything. Cool facilities, cafe, garden, chill out place and the list goes on!
Review 36:Beds were rock solid in double room. Restaurant service was a bit confusing.
Review 37:Friendly and helpful staff. Great location - short walk to the taj mahal east gate. Nice chilled out garden space, somewhere to unwind.
Review 38:The bath was not already cleaned and not warm water in our room.
Review 39:It is a wonderful place for backpacker. You meet a lot of other with the same interests and the stuff gives you good information and any help you need.
Review 40:This hostel was a really chilled oasis in the madness of Agra, such a lovely feel to it. Food was really good, rooms comfortable. They also had 2 really cute puppies!
Review 41:All The staff at zostel is really kind and friendly. They are always available to help you at any time. The place is very clean and has the best energy. The food is very good and I was able to learn how to cook an Indian dish with Vijey , the chef, that kindly teach me. I tottally recomended zostel!
Review 42:Food is bad, service is very slow. It has a great garden and facilities but yeah the owners probably have problems about idea generating, planning and creativity. Its because they have never traveled and stayed at good hostels.
Review 43:Staff is really friendly.
Review 44:- The bunk bed is not comfortable--to weak - The locker is totally horrible; made of metal which is so noisy--it will wake all people around Agra when you open it. If you don't have padlock, it will be useless. - The hot water did not work
Review 45:- The location is great (very near with the most famous Taj Mahal - The staffs are so helpful
Review 46:wifi didn't work perfectly and waiters should speak better english, anyway it was very good for its price!!
Review 47:Zostel Agra is top for adventurous travelers! Close to Taj Mahal. Bedrooms are nice and confortable and the staff is very nice. Breakfast is good and completed, served in a lovely place at the garden.
Review 48:Lovely garden living room, the hostel manager is simply so awesome! He will hold cooking events whenever there are other travellers who know to cook. so far this is the best place I have stay in India throughout my journey. If you are in Agra, you must stay here!!
Review 49:Every room has an AC. There is a special room/house with glass walls on 3 sides, which is awesome. Within a really stressfull country like India, it is an oasis of recovery and relaxation.
Review 50:Cheap hostel is not good always. Backpackets love cheap but I didn't like hostel atmosphere. Too much busy and noisy at night time. They smoke marivana at night, me and my friend Lucy we felt uncomfortable. Please careful
Review 51:Cheape hostel not good always
Review 52:Very hot in the dorm rooms as there was a fan but no air con. We didn't get much sleep
Review 53:Liked the home cooked dinner, friendly staff and common room area
Review 54:- the rooms are a little bit dark - the beds arent really comfortable - the bad was not that clean after some days - the Wifi wasnt working
Review 55:- super friendly and helpful staff - nice common rooms, where you can meet other travellers - super close to the Taj Mahal
Review 56:-
Review 57:Place was really nice, really close to Taj Mahal. Staff was the most helpful ever!!! Seriously! I stayed at dorm and also in private room. you will get a good things for your money
Review 58:The best part of it was sitting in the lawn till midnight and eat anything you like. They provide us their kitchen to make our own food and share it with others. Meet strangers and make a bond with them. reminded me my old days of college.
Review 59:The electricity in the private room that I stayed keeps on turning off, I didn't sleep well because I have to go down to reception many times to ask them to fix it.
Review 60:Helpful staffs
Review 61:No breakfast, everything from eggs to bread and juice was finished a lot before ending time. our room, that was a private one for two, was very smelly, bathroom floor was dirty and sticky, bed was very hard and unconfortable to sleep in and there was no cover blanket. We usually don't give bad reviews especially if it's a hostel and a youth place, but unfortunally we were very dissappointed to find this situation, no breakfast and dirt. anyhow even if you are a hostel person (so used to less conforts), you should expect such better accomodation
Review 62:location was great, very near to the Taj that we reached in super short time on foot. staff is nice and garden is a good place to chill out with friends
Review 63:The surround of zostel agra doesnt hv much restaurant, the staff hostel doesnt tell that if want to have restaurant can be have at alley.
Review 64:Walk 20 min to taj mahal
Review 65:The room and the bathroom were completely dirty. We had now towels or toilet paper. The smell coming from the bathroom was awful. Bed was hard as wood...avoid this place!
Review 66:"Only" 1,5 km distance to Taj Mahal
Review 67:Staff is very friendly and helpful. He given us very good suggestions about travel. Room is very clean and bed is comfortable. I very like their front yard, you can take a rest there and play dogs.
Review 68:There was an odd damp smell in the main building, though our room in a second building thankfully didn't have the same problem. Very hard bed and the room was chilly with a generally damp feel about it. Not much choice of places to eat in walking distance.
Review 69:Friendly helpful staff. Location in easy walking distance of the Taj. Wifi worked well in common areas but signal didn't reach our room. Nice outdoor space.
Review 70:I thought that 75 rupees for some bread and cornflakes for breakfast was a bit steep. The rooms were very cold and so we didn't sleep well. Wifi was unpredictable.
Review 71:The best feature about zostel was the location- walking distance to taj. The staff were helpful.
Review 72:The drainage in the bathroom was not good. Every time one of us takes a shower it would lightly flood the entire bathroom. The room description said it was deluxe double with a view, but this was misleading and our room did have a window but looked to a brick wall. Not many places to eat close by.
Review 73:Staff was approachable and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The "front yard" was also nice.
Review 74:It is still 25 minutes walking to the Taj Mahal, the location is boring with no restaurants being close.
Review 75:The hostel is a nice place, I liked my stay. Staff is very friendly. It is more expensive than guesthouses though. Good beds, clean hostel.
Review 76:The place was a bit cold at night. It was January to be fair though and I was given plenty of extra blankets.
Review 77:For nye the staff drove out and bought us beers and had a little camp fire on the balcony. It was a very nice evening. The manager was always extremely helpful. The taj mahal is within walking distance, and the East gate is definitely the nicer of the surrounding areas!
Review 78:The location was great
Review 79:Relatively price, beds hard as rock and pretty dirty
Review 80:Location is very good. Few minutes walk to the Taj
Review 81:Culture
