Reviews for Cretan Dream Royal
Review 1:The hot food was too cold
Review 2:We have throughly enjoyed our stay at the Cretan Dream Hotel such a lovely hotel. The staff have been excellent and so friendly. Excellent pools
Review 3:the selction of the food where very poor, and especially not fited for jewish or israeli visiters, mybe its because that we are accustom to the best food in the world back in israel, or just that the food wasnt versetil enough, they serv chiken wings in breakfast!! (who eat chiken wings at breakfast???) lack of vegetables and dairy food, low fat option where lack, and so on...
Review 4:the staff was very welcoming and worm, and fullfililng everything we asked that needed in a very high level of service as expacted from a 5 star hote/
Review 5:Outstanding customer service from ALL staff. Discreet, efficient and happy to ensure guests had a perfect stay. Exceptionally high standard of cleanliness.
Review 6:great place, near Chania. The view is amazing, the maids take excellent care of the rooms and the reception personnel is very helpful, smiling and polite.
Review 7:This wouldn't keep me from staying again in the future, just noting it because this may be very important to some people: the bed was very hard. We thought for a moment that maybe we were sleeping on the box spring.
Review 8:Friendly staff, great pool area, right across the street from the beach and a wonderful breakfast spread each morning.
Review 9:Sometimes the hotel wasnt synced with the travel updated info such as drives time to destinations and entrance/tickets fee. Other than that, perfect!
Review 10:הכל!
Review 11:I got locked in the guest bathroom for 15 minutes
Review 12:Staff is very attentive and caring.cleaning lady is very sweet. staff also and pool bar. Receptionist sylvia and Eleni both are great. Very helpful. We stayed for 5 nights and we loved it. Close to Chaina center yet far from all the crowed and noise. Free parking, great breakfast, snacks and dinner. Every Monday free dancing Greek show and you can dance with them.. We loved out stay.. defentley recommended
Review 13:1. too many stairs, room was accessible only through 10-15 stairs which is inconvenient for parents with strollers (and for handicapped I would assume) 2.also the beach was not accessible for the same reason; 3. we booked months before yet we didn't get the room we booked, we had to move the next day. 4.not enough sunbeds by the pool, if you don't get one at 8 o clock, there was nothing to do because there was no staff around to pool to help. 5. beach towels were changed every two days, we could not keep 4 towels dry without mixing them for two days!!! 6. no bathtub in the bathroom, only kind of a shower cabin (having shower by standing on the floor) without a door or at least a curtain. bathroom floor was wet and slippery most of the time.
Review 14:excellent breakfast, wifi was free, very romantic setting
Review 15:Headboards in bedroom require replacing as top cover was worn away and gave the room a fatigued appearance.
Review 16:The pool area was lovely with a variety of areas to relax either in the sun or shade. Receptionists were very friendly and made us feel welcomed.
Review 17:Εxcellent location, stunning views to the sea from the swimming pool. Spacious room, with kitchenette, lovely landscaping and gardens. Great veranda and good bed. I had buffet dinner once and the selection and quality was great. You cross the street and the beach right there is sandy, friendly, with crystal waters. Awesome value for money!
Review 18:Food was rather ordinary, and chief waiter a bit rude, maybe just unprofessional, unlike the rest of the staff. Also we could not swim in the sea due to strong wind and big waves.
Review 19:Good location, very good car park. Apartment was big and very clean, with nice balcony and open sea view.
Review 20:they promised sea view and you barly see the sea. they promised to change the children room next to us and they didn't there's no good value for money
Review 21:the view in the pool is very nice. the crew is polite and smiley.
Review 22:Location: not in town but far from nightlife, too. Need a taxi to go anywhere. No minibar in room. Poor wifi in room No gym
Review 23:Excellent staff and attentive in their work. Great spacious rooms and clean. Good breakfast.
Review 24:No soap in showers in bathroom across from mini-market. I wanted to clean up after checking out and going for a swim. Not a large enough bar of soap in the bathroom for a 5 star hotel.
Review 25:Very pretty pool and property with restaurant and pool bar for eating and relaxing all day. Very cheap buffet dinner for excellent quality. Staff are all super. They also have entertainment nights. The beaches in that area are very good. Conveniently located near national highway. We had a car, can't imagine going to Crete without renting a car. I'd stay there again! Did I mention the robes and slippers in the bathroom?
Review 26:Not enough sunbeds at the pool. Every sunbeds occupied with towels before 8.30 in the morning. No sunbeds for the hotelguest at the beach had to pay for poor sunbeds there. Had to hire towels for the sunbeds.
Review 27:the view over the sea and big hotellroom
Review 28:The hotel itself is fantastic but the staff take it to the next level. Recommend everyone wanting a relaxing holiday stay here. Sit at the pool bar, watching the sun go down over the infinity pool.
Review 29:At the beach there weren derelict buildings and debris. Not a nice view.
Review 30:The staff were wonderfull and very friendly. The room was spacious and beautiful.
Review 31:The beach in front of the Hotel is not as clean as one would expect. Noise from garbage trucks in the middle of most nights.
Review 32:Beautiful structure with careful and professional staff. Very clean. Excellent buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The position in between Chania and Platanias and close to the motorway entrance is optimal if you have a car. There is plenty of parking space in the Hotel.
Review 33:The staff was extremely friendly and enthusiastic. The room was great and the infinity pool was outstanding. The breakfast had a huge assortment of yummy items. We originally booked for 3 nights, then added 3 more because it was so pleasurable. It makes you never want to leave the property.
Review 34:Everything for us was perfect. Every part of the hotel was cleaned daily - even the car park was washed every morning! We only had B&B so I can't speak for the evening meals but breakfast was fresh with a good variety of hot and cold food. The staff were very helpful and obliging. Be aware that they are extending the property but the external work is now complete and only the internal work needs to be finished so there is no disturbance to guest.
Review 35:The barbecue by "the greek evening" Very poor!!
Review 36:The view from the apartment. The very excellent breakfast. The staff in the reception. Our charming suite.
Review 37:There was no entertainment and there isn't much to do at the hotel
Review 38:I would like to mention Ioanna who organised our trip to Samaria gorge, she could have not been more helpful and friendly, thank you!
Review 39:Nothing but praise for the staff and hotel.the poor wi-fi forced me to a table for a tremendous breakfast buffet, overlooking the pool and agean sea.not bad eh
Review 40:The rooms with a mountain view do not worth the money we spent. There was humidity and wi-fi was not available in the room.
Review 41:The hotel's environment was perfect. The swimming pool area was really beautiful. There was a big variety at breakfast buffet.
Review 42:People still putting towels on sun beds and then leaving them for hours
Review 43:On our arrival and without our knowledge we were shown to the 'penthouse suite' with jacuzzi and massive balcony space overlooking everything: the sea, the pools, the bars etc. When I asked why I was told they often do this when the suite hasn't been booked
Review 44:View on to building site, reservations manager was so rude about us wanting to move room. Her solution was to take it up with booking.com or move to another hotel. Very helpful! Children's play park was very very dangerous. Defo not anywhere near 5 star I'd say 3 at a push.
Review 45:Pool, food and waiting staff excellent
Review 46:1)We've booked a so-called "suite" but it turned out that it was not a suite but a studio (a large bedroom and a small bathroom - facilities provided for preparing meals). Nothing luxurious about it. As we've been told every room is called a "suite". 2) No "mountain-view". The studio was blind. You could see a building site right in front of you. I wonder if it is quiet from Monday to Friday (we've only stayed during the weekend). 3) No warnings of the building site when we've booked the "suite" so I strongly recommend that you ask before you book, 4) tiny bathroom with a shower (no bathtub) - very claustrophobic 5) Overall, very expensive for what is was (bad value for money). I think that a fair price would be around 70euros per night and not 140 euros... I mean it was a simple studio - room with a tiny bathroom, no bathtub and right in front of a building site!! I would be perfectly satisfied if I've booked this studio in an anonymous not star-rated "rent apartments" and paid 50 euros a night. I've stayed in other five star hotels and I have some standards in my mind that I require from a five star hotel for the room I pay for 140 euros per night. Also I have never experienced the absence of the bathtub or seen such a tiny bathroom in any hotel I've stayed (five star - four star - three star - rent apartments) ! It is a shame because the surroundings are great. Maybe they could let people know the truth about those "bargain suites" and provide a fair price reduction.
Review 47:1) polite and experienced personnel, 2) nice coffee area and surroundings , 3) sea view, 4) private parking - but I think it is obligatory for a five star hotel...
Review 48:It is located a taxi ride away from the centre of Chania but this actually isn't such a bad thing when you have such a nice hotel.
Review 49:The facilities and pool area were fantastic. Great breakfast spread put on every day. Really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and comfortable. The receptionist Joanna was extremely helpful and obliging in helping us arrange a ferry transfer and went out of her way to accommodate us.
Review 50:Poor wifi
Review 51:Helpful staff
Review 52:Awesome place, very helpful at the front desk. Beach is across the road, not far at all to walk. Make sure you take the breakfast option.
Review 53:Very friendly staff Champagne breakfast Excellent food
Review 54:There was an ant infestation. The pool was beautiful but it was too cold to use in September.
Review 55:Amazing staff! Very hospitable
Review 56:Wifi is not available in rooms
Review 57:Very nice staff, food and swiming pool are great.
Review 58:the service was excellent..we liked a lot the pool and the bar but first of all the location of the hotel..it was quiet and we could relax..
Review 59:stayed at this gorgeous hotel for 4 nights during our honeymoon. We loved everything about it. Very friendly staff, great pool, great food.
Review 60:Wifi almost inaccessible. Had to download documents at 4 in the morning to get any working internet speed.
Review 61:Rooms could be updated as starting to outdate a little
Review 62:The service and facilities were excellent
Review 63:Rooms are quite basic Service is minimal
Review 64:The pool and bar area is very nice Well located with a nice view of the ocean
Review 65:A great place to stay, good food, very nice pool and pool bar.
Review 66:I wish to send by best wishes to Management and Staff for doing an excellent job in running the Hotel. Bravo!!!!

Review 69:Nice and clean, friendly staff , good location.
Review 70:Very nice Hotel, good location, good atmosphere and very good service, will return if I'll have an option.
Review 71:Perfect. This was an additional booked hotel for us since we really likes the Hotel.
Review 72:Extremly happy. Friendly staff and restaurants offered very good service all day long. Nice rooms, nice pools. We came back for one more night.
Review 73:they need concierge
Review 74:Staff, size of bed room, cleanness
Review 75:Internet was hopeless, very bad connection speed
Review 76:Restaurant and pool were lovely, rooms were also good-
Review 77:Staff were fantastic. Great location; excellent food and good facilities. Would highly recommend
Review 78:No gym, little sunbeds
Review 79:Breakfast and pool

Review 81:Buffet restaurant and breakfast not 5 star. Rooms tidy but not 5 star rooms

Review 83:Lack of entertainment at night. Could do with pianist in lovely bar.
Review 84:Infinity pool
Review 85:Everything
Review 86:Nothing

Review 88:Facilities (bedrooms, lobby) are a bit outdated.

Review 90:Location Staff
Review 91:Wifi very poor
Review 92:Fabulous
Review 93:Everything.
Review 94:Bad wi-fi
Review 95:Very kind staff Very good services Clean rooms
Review 96:Pre-reservation of credit card
Review 97:The pool
Review 98:We could not fault anything at this hotel. The whole hotel was very clean the food was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and professional. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. We will certainly be visiting again and will stay longer next visit.
Review 99:Didn't find anything to dislike - however, please be aware that the hotel is situated some 5 km from central Chania. However In the 'opposite' along the coast is Platanias and other tourist resorts. These also give good tourist facilities
Review 100:Excellent hotel with very attentive staff. Place is very clean and gave the impression of it being new (despite being 9 years old). The pools are excellent for all ages and the poolside areas facilities (bar, restaurant, sunbathing areas) were very well set out. Chania is a town with a definite 'buzz' to it both in the day and at night and the archaeological museum (despite being a lot smaller than Heraklions), the old port area (lots of bars and restaurants) and the covered market are all worth visits. By the way - HIRE A CAR - the surrounding countryside is amazing !!!
Review 101:No greek channels in tv
Review 102:Fabulous breakfast with local products of high quality, spacious and veryclean room and bathroom, nice view to the pool and the sea, parking.
Review 103:Generally it was not a 5* hotel. Three days no hot water. No apology or compensation proposal. No wifi in rooms, only in lobby. Sea wiew on the west side only in the third floor rooms, in lower floors is sea wiew hidden by the ongoing construction of a new hotel. Safe only with additional fee.
Review 104:Breakfast.
Review 105:Wish we had more time to stay more days.
Review 106:We have stayed at Cretan Dream for 5 years in a row and are always welcomed warmly and treated like royalty. Pool is wonderful, rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is divine. Most pleasing is the staff. We love Cretan Dream.
Review 107:Not a down side, but renting a car meant we had access to loads of extra things like balos lagoon. Had a great holiday!
Review 108:Very friendly staff that took the time to remember the small details
Review 109:We stayed in a room with a sea view . There's a busy road between the hotel and the beach. Meaning that the view is far from perfect and it was noisy even during the night.
Review 110:Staff is friendly and professional. All facilities are nice and well maintained.
Review 111:Like many of the other reviews - nothing. I think some of the people complaining this is not real 5-star are missing the point; walk along the rest of the Kato Stalos strip towards Aghia Marina and you see what not being 5-star is all about. At the prices we got (via Booking.Com of course!) we definitely got 5-star value.
Review 112:This is a really good hotel if you want somewhere to relax for a few days with the possibility of going out to see other interesting places. It is not often that you can say that all the staff are nice and helpful in different ways. The restaurant team is particularly special and the cleaning staff did some lovely things to make the stay very special for our children. The reception person we dealt with most couldn't have been more helpful. Finally, the infinity pool really lived up to it's name and we used it a lot. You also easy and uncrowded access to the best bit of the Kato Stalos beach.
Review 113:Breakfast was delicious. Rest is just ok
Review 114:Far from city center
Review 115:Swimming pool, close to beach
