Reviews for Renieris Hotel

Review 1:Giorgios is a great host, very friendly, helpful and entertaining. The view from the pool/breakfast area is amazing! And the breakfast is pretty good too with very fresh products every morning.

Review 2:The stairs to the beach and restaurants/bars, although they are at this moment doing lots of roadworks to the very small track to the hotel, which one would be able to walk to.

Review 3:Another excellent stay at the Renieris Hotel, excellent comfort, food and great priced drinks. Received a very warm and hospitable stay. Rooms, beds comfortable with free wi fi and coffee making facilities. Would definately book for the third time in 2016/2017. Absolutely great .. :)

Review 4:It's a quality hotel in a good location. Rooms are not big, but very comfortable. Pool big enough, of course clean. Overall cleanliness and great attention to holidaymakers ... For gourmets, near taverns, restaurants and shops. For sea and beach fans, it can be seen through the windows of the hotel. TV and Wi-fi in good quality ...

Review 5:We didn't have a real double bed but just twin beds stuck together

Review 6:The view is great, the suite is also high quality (except the absence of a real double bed) the staff is great

Review 7:Too short stay :-(

Review 8:The owners were very helpfull and kind. Great view from our balcony. Breakfast deliciuos! Some greek specials as well, which I liked. Close to Chania (only 10 min bus). Clean rooms. Comfy beds.

Review 9:It may be good to get screens rather than curtains for the showers (if they fit).

Review 10:A really relaxing and calm place to stay, with tasty food at the poolside bar. Even the pizzas are delicious!

Review 11:The 98 steps to reach the hotel. No evening bar so to speak. You could only purchase drinks at the pool snack bar which closed too early for a nightcap before bed.

Review 12:views from the hotel and the excellent customer service from the hosts.

Review 13:Juniorsuite! Room 1-4. Very nice.. modern, clean , comfortable bed. The pool outside. Groundfloor. What a breathtaking sea view. Big terass. Quit in evenings. You need a car though. If you want to see crete. Try the draft beer in the restaurang. Everything was great.

Review 14:The only problem that may be for elder people is that the hotel is situated on the top of the hill. So after swimming in the sea you have to go upstairs.

Review 15:The Hotel is well situated, the beach is just across the road, and there we almost no people there. Another beach with shower and bar is 5 min to walk. Breakfast a very good and tasty. The Maria's taverna is about 5 min to walk

Review 16:The breakfast could be better, electricity in the room was only working when using the room key and this meant that the fridge was not working when not inside - this can be improved.

Review 17:The views, its location, the helpful staff. Very clean rooms.

Review 18:It is a little hard to get there from the main road either by car or bus. If you are driving, you will miss the entrance(small one-lane path) that leads to the hotel at least once. There is another route where you climb up the stairs for about...100m?

Review 19:The hotel pool is nice with a great view of the beach. You can also enjoy the sunset. It is lovely.

Review 20:No complains at all.

Review 21:Everything was fine - very comfort and clean rooms, fast wifi, swimming pool, amazing veiw, good breakfast, very helpful owners. Strongly recommend!

Review 22:The locatiln and views were excellent. The room was superb and clean. The staff were extremely helpful , going the extra mile . Highly recommended and much better than its two star rating suggests

Review 23:Perhaps the menu of the food could be changed a bit and include better variety of local dishes. You need a rental car to fully utilize your holiday while staying here, as Chania is 8 km away and the nice beaches are between 20-40 minutes driving away.

Review 24:This is my second stay at Hotel Renieris and both me and my family (we had two rooms) had fantastic time. The room is basic, but comfortable. The view from it is really wonderful, especially when the skies are clear and the fresh breeze from the sea comes into your room. The owners are really doing their outmost to facilitate your needs.

Review 25:Excellent family ran hotel . Very clean. Felt really comfortable there. Good location to get around . Buses on the doorstep although there is a lot of steps to the street . It's worth hiring a car to get out and about to appreciate the island . Stella and her son Georgios work very hard to make sure you enjoy your holiday .

Review 26:The steps

Review 27:So friendly owners Would go the extra mile to make sure your stay is the best Also so helpful in arranging places of interest and how to get there and prices

Review 28:Very friendly staff. A wonderful location, with easy access to surrounding areas. We had a truly amazing room with a huge balcony and uninterrupted sea views.

Review 29:Nothing really

Review 30:Quiet location, small hotel, spotless and beautiful modern room, free tea and coffee and fridge and safe, lovely friendly staff, always available to help with advice abd great value

Review 31:Our room on the top floor was quiet with a great coastal view, but was quite small with very limited wardrobe space for a weeks stay, we never unpacked our cases.

Review 32:Giorgio and his family run a spotless and efficient hotel and cannot do enough to help their guests enjoy their stay. The covered breakfast area beside the pool is a lovely way to start the day. The gift of Renieris olive oil on departure was a lovely touch. The Hotel definitely deserves another star!

Review 33:Some traffic noise. Mosquitos.

Review 34:New comfortable room with amazing view. The breakfast was very healthy and the best we had in Crete. Marvellous hospitality, the advices (the restaurant and food street market in Chania) of owner was very helpful.

Review 35:Internet was generally fast, but tended to disconnect from time to time. This was not a huge problem, but made calls back to the family challenging when using Skype.

Review 36:The staff was the best part of this visit. They were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The hotel is on a hill overlooking the beach, which is a short walk away. There is a great pool onsite as well and when you are ready to explore the surrounding area, you can visit Chania, about 6km away, or a number of other local sites.

Review 37:Internet connection was very bad.

Review 38:Perfect location - close to the sea but away from the road. Rooms are modern with excellent furniture, clear & sunny. Staff was very helpfull.

Review 39:There are many steps down to the road and beach- not suitable for people with mobility problems. But we are much fitter now.

Review 40:Rooms were spotless and comfortable, view was amazing. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Also the directions to get to the hotel were spot on- as it is not easy to find the road otherwise.

Review 41:As the hotel is above the road, there is sinevitably some traffic noise.

Review 42:Setting is wonderful, with a great view over the bay on one side and the mountains in the other direction. Remarkable value, with conmfortable rooms and a breakfast you would expect to find in a hotel at three times the price.

Review 43:Nothing much.. But we were not looking for posh.. So people looking for that may turn up a nose or two..

Review 44:Great location, very very friendly staff - always there to help and make you feel welcome.. Good facilities and great breakfast.. Too cold to use the pool I am sure it would be brilliant in summer in the pool with the view to the sea..

Review 45:- unfortunately the weather ! but that cannot be helped, I am sure we would go again but earlier in the Season and maybe this year - the resort itself was closing as at the end of October so there were not many bars outside of the hotel and restaurants available and open.

Review 46:- marvellous hospitality, the staff couldnt do enough for you. -comfort of the rooms, bathroom, beds, location - food was fantastic and very enjoyable - a great place to stay - would recommend this hotel, fantastic ! it should be a higher rating hotel

Review 47:Very minor but the spotlessly clean bedroom had very small wardrobe for 2 people to use for 10+ day visit.

Review 48:George & Anna the owners who worked tirelessly every day to make everyone at the hotel have everything they needed to make their stay perfect.

Review 49:Nothing. though I appreciate that without a car some people may find it a little out of the way.

Review 50:This is in a great location away from the hustle and bustle with suburb views from most of the rooms and the pool area. The staff could not be more helpful and the food is simple but delicious and freshly made. I was told that the beds all have new mattresses. I am very partial to a comfy bed, which is so often not provided. I found this bed comfy and I slept very well throughout my stay. This is a very clean and comfortable hotel that represents very good value for money.

Review 51:En suite bathroom was very small

Review 52:Great location across the road from a blue flag beach, bus stop outside hotel to go to either chania or platanias at night, very clean, basic facilities but ideal as a base, staff very helpful

Review 53:This is the best family run hotel in Crete. It's 4 star quality in 2 star price. Very good outdoor breakfast buffet. Great sea view. Everything is perfect.

Review 54:Unbeatable location on top of a hill with sea view and private stairs down to the beach (stairs as many as a 3 story building), good breakfast which is served at the pool bar, clean pool that can be used even at nights, careful daily cleaning, balcony, spacious room, peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

Review 55:Nothing.

Review 56:A 15-20 min €1.60 bus ride from beautiful Chania, this friendly family run hotel sat on top of a small hill is a wonderful place to relax. Fantastic little pool with great views over the sea and lovely for and drinks. Awesome breakfasts, helpful staff, spotless rooms.Great value.

Review 57:Stunning views from this unpretentious little hotel on the hill. Exceptional value for money and delicious breakfast. Lovely large pool. Couldn't fault it for the 2 days we were there. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Review 58:Road down below is constantly busy and there is some inevitable road noise. No drawers to store clothes in, limited storage space generally.

Review 59:Pool, location of the pool and the view of the sea. Always enough sun beds available. Family all attentive and helpful, made for a relaxing stay.Good situation away from the main road.Balcony overlooking the sea lovely. Fridge useful. Cost was very reasonable.

Review 60:We were 2 friends and we stayed 5 nights at the hotel. The hotel was very clean, breakfast excellent and really nice rooms. We felt like at our home. Also important to mention the kindness of the owners. They really took care of us. Very high recommended place to stay.

Review 61:The beach was across the street and down several steps.

Review 62:The hotel was well located and the staff was very accommodating! We checked in hours early, they made any arrangements we needed, and breakfast food was great!

Review 63:No elevator but the owner kindly carried my suitcase upstairs :-) Staircase between the hotel to go down to the beach and village as mentioned in the other reviews, but that's the price to pay for a nice view and quiet feeling. It is not a big deal unless perhaps for older people. Price of taxi from/to the airport - make sure to book in advance or ask the hotel owner to book for you in order to have a better price

Review 64:- Great location in the first village after Chania, easily accessible by bus (stop a few minutes away from the hotel) - Beach nearby was not crowed at all even in July :-) - Nice pool with possibility to eat there too - Nice view from the room (because the hotel is on a hill overlooking the sea)

Review 65:Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Review 66:Lovely location over looking the sea, close to the village centre. Staff friendly and hotel clean and tidy.

Review 67:Friendliness. Great value for money. convenience to Chania but area round hotel not too busy and touristy. Lovely views.

Review 68:We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived, cannot wait to go back

Review 69:First time at a family hotel , It was excellent and we would come back again.

Review 73:Excellent hotel, owners can't do enough for you, food is lovely and hotel is spotlessly clean

Review 74:Hard working family run hotel. They made is feel very welcome. Very relaxing stay in a lovely hotel.

Review 75:Friendly helpfull staff, location

Review 76:The location, the staff, the bed, the pool & area,

Review 77:Family run hotel with focus on hospitality. Good pool area with plenty of sunbeds and a reasonably priced pool bar.

Review 78:Nothing

Review 79:Everything! Amazing view, not to close from the main road but still close enough to walk to it.

Review 80:i was pleasantly surprised with everything. Clean quiet comfortable the owners helpful . i would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Review 82:Amazing breakfast, very nice people, good location to explore west Crete

Review 89:Delicious breakfast, new comfortable room with see view, swimming pool for children

Review 90:nothing to dislike.

Review 91:Friendly family run hotel. Breakfast is full and varied. Lovely pool. Peaceful hill top position. Everywhere is spotlessly clean.

Review 92:The room was spartan in furnishings but very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was simply the best we had.

Review 93:Pool and bar excellent. Staff very welcoming. Food very good.

Review 94:Hospitality, comfort and location.

Review 95:For its price I think you would struggle to find a better hotel. Very well run and does the basics very well.

Review 96:Family run, very clean, lovely breakfast by the pool.

Review 97:the rooms to the seafront are a bit noisy because of the traffic. Best rooms to south-eastside

Review 108:Anywhere close, beautiful view of the sea, kind owners

Review 109:The hotel was exceptionally clean, bed linen and towels were changed very regularly. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast was very good with a good choice and plenty to eat. We had a very enjoyable 10 day holiday there and will go back again in the near future.

Review 110:97 steps up from the main road makes it a bit of a climb but good for aerobic exercise! However, it is not much of a problem since one of the family will collect you from the bus stop anytime you need them to.

Review 111:The family are so lovely and helpful and take great pride in looking after their guests. The new Junior Suite is a big step up in accommodation and we really enjoyed all the space, modern decor and huge walk in shower. Stella provides very good breakfasts, salads and snacks.

Review 112:This was our third time in this hotel and we enjoyed it as much as previous times. We will definitely book it again next time we visit Chania. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money!
