Reviews for Days Inn Hotel Telford Ironbridge
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:Very helpful staff the receptionist went the extra mile getting me directions to kwick fit and having it on paper so that I could find them. Excellent friendly greeting on arrival good nights rest thank you.
Review 3:Shabby, dirty, toilet seat soaking wet with hair on it (yuk), toilet roll holder fell off as soon as I tried to us it, Wifi didn't work staff not interested in helping ("My internet is working, you must be doing it wrong"...end of conversation), No O2 phone reception in room or anywhere except reception and no outside calls possible from room. Television remote not working, got replacement which had no back so batteries falling out, very noisy , not sound proofed at all so woken up each time guests in room above walked. Staff member had cold, coughing in my face. All in all, not a good visit.
Review 4:Close to International Centre where I was attending a conference.
Review 5:The smoking room I was placed in was utterly rancid. I felt physically sick for the whole day after having to sleep in this midden. The hairdryer was held together with cellotape and didn't work. There were disgusted stains all over the carpet. All in all an absolute disgrace of a hotel.
Review 6:The water in the fridge at reception
Review 7:I had intermittent cell phone reception in my room, I had to go outside to get a reception. And the wifi was useless, I would have expected better when you are promoting the hotel as a business venue. When I did get connection, as soon as I tried to do anything it would drop out. I would have thought you would have a top infependant connection as a business venue.
Review 8:Room was clean and tidy, staff were very good.
Review 9:Very cheap and nasty budget hotel. Wifi selectively worked. Bed was awful Only two pillows on a double bed. Shower head wasn't clean and certainly needs changing, felt dirty just standing under it.
Review 10:Location
Review 11:Excellent value and service all round . If we need a place to stay in this area would try you first, Now that we know you have dog friendly rooms will be using you more often. I have also given your hotel groups name to the Doodle web group on face book
Review 12:I'd booked a family room as usual, but later accepted an upgrade to an executive room when offered, as I thought a fridge would be useful. I also liked the idea of a safe. On arrival I found that an executive room does not include a sofa bed, as did the family room. I would have preferred to stick with my original choice and was a bit irritated to have been offered an upgrade of this nature; it should have been clear that I was getting a fridge but not a sofa bed! My 8yr old son and I shared the 1 bed and neither had a good sleep. In addition, I could not open the safe, and the lady on reception (very pleasant) said she believed there would be an on/off button on the side. There wasn't. I didn't want to return to Reception again as I'd already had difficulties getting into the room on arrival (Reception came to assist immediately and found that Housekeeping had left the key in the holder inside the room). With all of these events, sadly it wasn't the most comfortable evening/night.
Review 13:The location is good for me. I also like the fact that Reception is manned 24hours per day, and the staff are welcoming.
Review 14:Bed could do with replacing....dipped well in the middle! No problem but had to find out where continental breakfast was as not delivered at requested time(wrong time recorded by staff)
Review 15:STAFF FRIENDLY East to find location
Review 16:We did not this time, all was ok.
Review 17:At last Telford Days Inn is being upgraded and this is great for the staff as we have had poor experience in the past with shabby beds etc and the staff have always done their best to help.
Review 18:Very poor phone réception,wi -fi non existent and had to go outside hotel to get a decent reception. This badly needs reviewing as I cannot afford to be without internet connection as I work away from home
Review 19:Comfortable room, plenty of tea and coffee in the room
Review 20:Having no sleep beds un comfortable and cold rooms, terrible noise from delivery's dont stay in rooms 120,123,118,122 you will have no sleep
Review 21:Stayed here about 6 times, 2 nights freezing cold with no option to move. 2 nights no sleep due to early morning delivery's.. Have complained to the staff and managers no response still..
Review 22:The bed mattress needs updating very old and dipped the milk is not enough for two people and this time of year wen cold the heater goes off wen leave as card as to be took out
Review 23:Liked the room for it had hair drier and bath with lots of hot water
Review 24:Room was freezing, bed for my son was more than a little uncomfortable, bedside shelf was broken off the wall and despite email to the team leader, I have heard nothing back.
Review 25:Well lit car park with on site food places.
Review 26:Linen lady had gone home with keys so no extra pillow/quilt for my back, as I requested, as manager does not have keys to linen cupboard. Wasn't even enough bedding for the three of us never mind extra. Not her fault, down to the hotel chain policy. Ridiculous situation which meant I had an uncomfortable night.
Review 27:Always pleasant staff and welcome.
Review 28:There was not one travel cot in the whole hotel meaning baby had to sleep in pram very disappointing
Review 29:Well after not being able to get into the first room that they allocated to us the receptionist was extremely helpful and quickly secured us a room
Review 30:Sofa bed wasnt made up when we arrived after our stated time and i had to go down and ask reception for the duvet and covers. The main bed in the room was very lumpy and soft and therefore very uncomfortable and there was only 1 thin pillow per person.
Review 31:Hotel was cheaper than any other and the room was clean.
Review 32:First 2-day stay was in room without new mattresses, subsequent stays were in rooms with new mattresses, great improvement!
Review 33:Adjacent to Waitrose, Burger King, WH Smith, Starbucks. Easy in/out with access to M54, Ironbridge, Shifnal, Telford, Newport, etc
Review 34:Was given a smoking room- as a non-smoker this was unacceptable. The smell of cigarettes was very strong. Shower head grubby.
Review 35:Location was good for Conference Centre.
Review 36:The bathroom had a unpleasant odour I saw mould around the bath no remote control for TVs one light had no working light bulbs these are simple things that should be checked by house keeping
Review 37:The staff was helpful at all times had breakfast on time
Review 38:Bed was very soft and not very supportive. Bedside table/shelf missing from one side of the bed. Wood chippings all over the towels and bedroom floor, looked like it came from some damage to the hanging space area. Bathroom had patches of dark mould around the tiled bath area.
Review 39:Quiet room despite location near the motorway. Easy access to room and friendly staff.
Review 40:I'm a non smoker and was put in a smoking room that stank of cigarettes. Shurley this should be a choice if you want to be in a smoking or non smoking room?
Review 41:Room was of a poor standard pillow on bed was ripped and covered with just the pillow case whole pillow should have been replaced Was no mattress protector on bed and bottom bed sheet was not fitted properly which resulted in myself making the bed Was loads of dust and cobwebs behind the heater in the room One bedside lamp was not working Bathroom was of a average standard but tiles all around the bath were all mouldy and could be due for a change or a deep steam clean The facilities in the building opposite the hotel were very poor and often during our visit dirty and food was very cold that was ordered from Burger King
Review 42:Staff were friendly and helpful and location was good
Review 43:everything else.. Room was really loud as we were right next to the enterance of the building.. people shouting at all hours of the morning outside.. people making loud bangs above our room etc.
Review 44:the hotel was close to where I needed to be the next morning
Review 45:Not chosen for character and some motorway noise would disturb a light sleeper. However, it does the job required in comfort.
Review 46:Location perfect for our destination. Excellent being next to services with Starbucks and shop right next door. Perfect for a family visit
Review 47:I order a room for two people we got one pocket of tea biscuit. The TV. Control didn't work, the face basin was partially blocked, we went out early Monday morning and came back late, they change our towels and did not make up our beds.. It's the first I have stayed in an hotel that didn't make the bed
Review 48:The space was good ,shower and toilet was satisfactory
Review 49:The bed wasn't made up for a family room when we arrived and we needed to get children to bed. Staff did help sort it.
Review 50:Near services to buy anything needed helpful staff
Review 51:Breakfast options in the service station are limited
Review 52:Comfortable bed, quiet room despite it being near the motorway and lots of people were around. Friendly staff
Review 53:Bed could have been more Comfortable, mattress was not comfy and you could feel the springs, needs updating.
Review 54:Friendly staff, really helpful. Room was ok nothing special - we attended a wedding so only needed somewhere to sleep.
Review 55:Only downside our room was located near the stairs, so we heard everybody up and down, footsteps and creaking stairs
Review 56:location, friendly staff, room was spotlessly clean and equipped to expected standards, very good value for money
Review 57:We had a family room and the bed settee provided for my son to sleep in did not go completely flat and so he was lying at an angle.
Review 58:Good location, good general standard, nice staff.
Review 59:Sofa bed in room for two children - single beds would have been better. No soap in room on arrival and bathroom not cleaned between nights of stay. This was rectified and staff were very friendly.
Review 60:Location was great for late night journey and accessibility to local facilities.
Review 61:No breakfast (although a prep packed continental is available).
Review 62:Excellent staff, good size room bed ok, shower fine at 45 pounds it was good value. It is a service station accommodation and as such is fine. No noise from outside
Review 63:For some reason there were a few mosquitos in the room because the windows were open to air the room after fitting a new carpet. No shower gel in the fitting. A bit too late to do anything once you're in the shower! Not great value for money considering better quality was available if I had booked earlier.
Review 64:Convenient location for Telford International Centre, if travelling by car. Many other hotels are closer, but were fully booked at the time of my travel.
Review 65:Bed dipped in the middle and was very uncomfy. Sofa bed for my child was awful. Falling apart and took us ages to get it down and couldn't get it back to a sofa. Bathroom had mould around the bath / shower area.
Review 66:Room was clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 67:The room was designated a smoking room. I am a non smoker and the room was so contaminated it was uninhabitable.
Review 68:The hotel transferred me to premier inn!
Review 69:The WiFi was absolutely useless, the smell of the room was disgusting, I left a couple of shirts behind one of which meant alot to me. I called several times to try and arrange a currier to comd and collect the shirts and each time I'm told that someone will call me back. How hard is it to pick up the phone?
Review 70:I have stayed here a few times and room 005 is poor dirty stains all over the carpet tv didn't work shower dispenser fell off the wall I would not like room 005 again
Review 71:good location and cant fault the staff
Review 72:the bed is the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in there are no soaps in or shampoos in the bathroom and the tissue box was empty. we have stayed in Days Inn in USA and Canada and they are much better than this. The premier hotels are cheaper and better facilitated.
Review 73:It was convenient for he motorway an it was clean.
Review 74:Carpet in the room was grubby.
Review 75:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is close to shops. Despite being on the motorway, there was very little noise.
Review 76:The hotel needs an uplift; there was a mouldy smell, the general look of the place was not welcoming. Perhaps it's fine if only staying the 1 night.
Review 77:Floor in the room was not clean properly. Under the bed found plastic bags probably from previous occupant
Review 78:The receptionist was very friendly The hotel had free car park
Review 79:I arrived at five minutes to 2am I couldnt get in untill 2 they told meto go away and come back later so I carted my bags back to the car, theyjust didnt seem interested in who was arriving to stay.going into theroom it looked tied and dated and grubby.i wont be staying in a DaysInn again.
Review 80:There wasnt much to like about the place,it looked grubby the staffseemed as though they wished to be somewhere else.
Review 81:Electronic Keys not working, Kettle not working. Bed Collapsed. Room not cleaned thoroughly. Room not aired after last occupant.Replacement room offered and totally unsuitable as bed had no legs and was six inches from the ground
Review 82:The mattress protector was wrinkled and not smooth before the under sheet was put on so it was not comfortable at all and I had to get up in the middle of the night and completely remake the bed. Under the toilet rim was not clean. The pull cord for the bathroom light was filthy and greasy. I had to reach farther up it where it looked a bit cleaner to turn the light on and off. ? dirty hands using it before me. The pelmet was coming away from its fixtures and if not mended, will fall off.
Review 83:It was handy for where I wanted to be. Price was OK.
Review 84:The bed - we kept rolling into the middle. The carpet - should have been renewed a long time ago! Although obviously well vacuumed, the stains were such that we would not walk on it in bare feet.
Review 85:The bathroom facilities.
Review 86:bed and sofa bed were both very uncomfortable. other guests slamming doors all night shampoo etc sachets would have been nice
Review 87:Reception staff friendly and efficient free wifi excellent clean apart from carpet
Review 88:Very noisy Waitrose delivery van with two talkative men and loads of rattling trolleys arrived at 4.40am and rattled away until 5.20am. Unacceptable when paying almost £100.
Review 89:The staff, in particular Simon, were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Accessibility is good as my husband is disabled but managed very well.
Review 90:Wifi wasn't working - I didn't ask at the desk as it wasn't too important to me. Funny smell in downstairs corridor - smelt like cleaning products but not a nice smell and quite overpowering! Room smelt fine though so no drama.
Review 91:Staff were brilliant, all three members of staff I dealt with were very friendly and welcoming. Very impressed.
Review 92:Most uncomfortable hotel bed I have experienced. The carpet was very tatty and stained and there was debris under the bed (including a piece of bread crust).
Review 93:Helpful and friendly staff.
Review 94:The loudness of the hotel, a man pushing trolleys outside the window all throughout the night and even during the day, did not sleep a wink for the duration
Review 95:The staff were very welcoming and attentive. There was a shop beside the hotel which was very handy. The wifi was good also.
Review 96:The bed needs replacing, it was extremely uncomfortable with springs sticking up and making boing noises all night
Review 97:The location, and convenience of the shuttle bus to take us to Weston Park for the V Festival.
Review 98:Man in reception very helpful on arrival, facilities good, rooms were good beds a little worn and dipped in middle kids happy with sofa bed...all in all good nights stay
Review 99:Nothing to compalin about.
Review 100:All the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. Nothing was any bother, they are a credit to the hotel. We were on a golf break and the hotel was ideally situated. It is very handy having the services next door. The staff ordered us taxis when required, so we did not have to worry about getting around the area. This is the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed at this hotel on our annual golf trip to the area and would definitely recommend it.
Review 101:No tea or coffee no soap in the room the beds looked like they had been slept in before us,2 towels for 4 people and the bathroom stunk .
Review 102:close to the location we needed to be at.
Review 103:The rudest manager I have ever met in my life. I never leave reviews butI'm that annoyed I'm actually in the room now and I've neverbeen so insulted and disgusted in my life. Yes I understand that thereare other guests and that should be respected, but we were quietly withfriends in another room and we were marched out and the managerthreatened to call the police... An absolute joke as we were not evenloud, just having a good time... Do not ever stay here.... Hell hole...If your young and want to have a great time avoid
Review 104:Awful lingering smell in room, poor ventilation, very poor quality single bed, stained carpet, mould round bath and dirty shower curtain.
Review 105:Free wifi and location on m54
Review 106:The carpet could do with a clean, this would not take much! Soft mattress!
Review 107:Cheep stay before a wedding, paid £44 which we were pleased with. Staff were friendly, room size was great, And lovely big towels, with shower gel (we take our own) We popped to Asda for a cooked breakfast! 5 min away.
Review 108:I didn't like the smell of the smoking rooms. I know they are smoking rooms but putting a some air fresheners in the rooms mite cover the smell
Review 109:The services next door to the hotel.
Review 110:There was foot noise from the room above and from traffic on the M54 which is within 100 metres.
Review 111:The receptionist was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast box in room is a good idea. The room had everything needed for an overnight stop.
Review 112:From the noise all night from the smoking area on the gravel rightoutside the window, through to the mould in the kettle, dirty towels andmould in the bathroom, lack of soap and regularly not even cleaning theroom, this was one of the worst places to stay for the amount theycharged. Will never stay here again even if its the closest.
Review 113:Checking out and getting the hell out
Review 114:Excellent location for our purpose (break in journey). It looked dreadful from the outside but was absolutely fine. Starbucks right next door (and burger king/waitrose) at the services.. Plenty of places to visit nearby.
Review 115:MATTRESS was very uncomfortable and woke us up every 2hrs!...Room too hot as we didn't want to open window because of Traffic noise...Noisey bathroom extractor fan...tea making in the wrong place only biscuits for one!...not cleaned under the bed...doors banging at night...sofabed old and duvet too big... pillows no support...cigarette smoke coming through bathroom extractor...towels only for two persons, we were three...carpet grubby
Review 116:Staff were very pleasant and service good. Reception and hallways good. Breakfast was good. Bed linen clean. WiFi good.
Review 117:Bed was not very comfy.
Review 118:Just as expected. Shower nice and hot Location good for what we wanted. Staff were really helpful. Nice and cheap. Good hotel for a short break, look at the specs of the hotel, it is what it is.
Review 119:Sofa bed faulty and duvet was screwed up under it, not convinced cover was clean. Carpet not great, didn't really want to take shoes off.
Review 120:Friendly helpful staff and an easy convenient location. Nice and quiet.
Review 121:No shower gel, unmade beds, bathroom clean but all the silicon was mouldy. Very low bed with no legs. Taking "Budget" to a new level....
Review 122:There was only one staff member on a Saturday evening, transferred from Bradford. As well as checking people in, she had to come and make our unmade beds. But she did a great job under a lot of pressure.
Review 123:The bed was very uncomfortable and the carpet very dirty and the room smelled maybe of dogs not sure my daughter left a toy behind staff not really interested when I phoned up to try and locate itc
Review 124:The staff were friendly
Review 125:No air con, told there was a hairdryer in room but there wasn't, camp bed wasn't great, WiFi isnt good either you Have to log in all the time and sometimes it lost signal, they only offer continental breakfast which isn't great and charged extra for, the £60 for the night didn't seem worth it as lacked for storage in the room to hang clothes, lacked hairdryer and we only got offered one towel
Review 126:The hotel was a services one but didn't hear the noise of traffic, 24hrs shops And reception, bar at reception beers and soft drinks are in a mini fridge in reception, free car parking was good, baby and parent parking close to entrance, the bed was really comfy slept like a Baby!
Review 127:I don't think there is anything. All taxis to and from the hotel were prompt and I didn't have to travel as far as thought as I would before I came.I would of liked to of toured Ironbridge a bit as I was told the area is good for sightseeing the town;s hisoric culture. I learned the hotel is best place for that if you are staying. So It is a shame I didn't get time to tour
Review 128:Peace and able to rest. I slept like a log
Review 129:Terrible bed - really uncomfortable. Breakfast options are limited to what's in the mortorway services, try and avoid Burger King breakfast - absolutely disgusting }P
Review 130:Very friendly staff and well kept hotel. Suited us nicely for our budget, and nice and close to the RAF museum
Review 131:I was at a convention in Telford, and bus services from the hotel into town were a bit inconsistent (not running in evenings or Sundays) so I had to get a taxi into town. Cabs (at time of writing) cost £5.80 to the bus station and surrounding area, going up to £8.90 or so after midnight. This wasn't so bad for me as I made friends at the convention to share cabs with, so it was a positive, really! There was no plug socket near enough to the bed that I could plug my phone in and have it nearby.
Review 132:I have a sleep recording app on my phone, and I had more deep sleep in this bed than I do in my own! Whether that was down to getting the bed to myself, being exhausted, or the bed being better, I've no idea. I had an executive room and it was an alright size, with everything I needed. The hotel is at a rest stop so there's a 24 hr shop right next door, along with a Krispy Kreme, Starbucks and Burger King, and a Waitrose. You can come and go as you please, any time of day or night.
Review 133:A little out of town, hadn't realised it was attached to services.
Review 134:Clean, good price, free unlimited wifi which was needed as not much phone signal.
Review 135:I booked 2 rooms. one bathroom was clean but a bit smelly. The hotel could do with a path along the front of the building (it has gravel) for pulling suitcases along - I had to walk on the car park to get to the front door.
Review 136:friendly, helpful knowledgeable staff Convenient location, not noisy
Review 137:room was relatively clean but not exactly spotless, lamp shade was missing which doesn't leave a good impression and by far the lowest point was the dirty underwear left under the bed.......a 5 second check under the bed is a must surely??
Review 138:staff were friendly and accommodating, cheap and cheerful
Review 139:On arrival checked in. Dropped bags in the room..... Left to go eat in Telford town. Due too unforeseen circumstances, we had too go back too the hotel and check out within 40 minutes off arrival. Staff were pretty in sympathetic and showed no empathy. So we paid £197 too days in, and never even stayed in any off the rooms. No refunds or complimentary rooms offered. And the member off staff told lies and said we were In the room at least 2 hours? So therefore we unable to give them too anyone else. This is of course and absolute blatant lie.
Review 140:Nothing at all.
