Reviews for International Hotel Telford

Review 1:No bad experience.

Review 2:The staff were really friendly. The breakfast choice was varied meaning that if you stay for a few days you could have something different every day.

Review 3:Very clean, friendly staff, very helpful over my wife's gluten free needs and a very easy to find location. Continental breakfast excellent with good choices.

Review 4:This is really just an annexe of the Holiday Inn next door, and one has to walk there for some facilities such as the restaurant, which is pretty indifferent. A limited breakfast is however available in a bar area.

Review 5:A modern hotel with reasonable size rooms and very good value for money.

Review 6:Staff clearing tables seemed unhappy?

Review 7:Welcome on arrival and friendly staff new improved area for a drink to chill after an afternoon xmas shopping lovely breakfast even fresh fruit yogurt etc

Review 8:Telford is an overspill and not the best place in the world but my Ma lives there so happy to visit occassionally

Review 9:Close to Southwater (?) so loads to eat and drink in close proximity

Review 10:Shower facilities in bathroom was totally inadequate. Rm 377. This was a water spout not a shower

Review 11:Close to motorway network and to my specific business purpose

Review 12:Continental Breakfast that even catered for GF & even bacon to make a sandwich ;=] Very close to Mall & Cinemax Will certainly go again '-]

Review 13:Nothing very bad. Room too hot at night and we didn't seem to have any control over temperature.

Review 14:Good location for town centre shops and evening do at International Centre.

Review 15:The shower head isn't your average- it was like a harsh tap! But this didn't ruin our stay

Review 16:We accidentally overslept and the staff was so understanding about it and pleasant. Felt very relaxed this time and enjoyed our stay :) def value for money

Review 17:Wi-fi charged - really poor in this day. Breakfast is poor, but full available at extra charge next door. Cheap construction - surface mounted sockets etc..

Review 18:Simple and straightforward.

Review 19:Being required to attend the Holiday Inn to use the leisure facilities AND having to pay for that privilege Breakfast choice was poor. Machine coffee instead of fresh? Little choice in comparison to what I expected for over £100

Review 20:Staff were very polite and professional. Very good.

Review 21:The air con / heating was noisy and the room and bathroom were cold so needed it on constantly . Radiators or wall heaters would be a better way to heat the room

Review 22:Good location

Review 23:We had a bar snack..not great. As I think our hotel kitchen was closed,I am presuming that our snack was cooked next door.It was not hot.Bar was a bit lifeless, but not a problem as we only had a quick drink there before we went out.No other problems.

Review 24:Great parking.Friendly welcome.Spotlessly clean & warm.Close to all bars & restaurants & Iron bridge museums. People have been moaning about the breakfast. Can't see why. There is plenty to chose from & as much bacon as you can eat albeit not a full English, there was enough to keep two hungry people going for the day!! The restaurants are only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.I recommend going to one of these as opposed to hotel & hotel next door(it is very expensive)Thank you to the breakfast waitress, she was very cheerful & helpful.Thankyou Telford International.Lovely stay.

Review 25:VIBRATING NOISE COMING FROM THE WINDOW HAD TO SLEEP WITH THE WINDOW OPEN ON THE COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR TO STOP THE VIBRATING NOISE.,.LISTENING TO THE HOWLING WIND WAS BETTER THEN THE VIBRATING NOISE ,WHEN THE WINDOW WAS CLOSED

Review 26:The windows have 2 x vents in them. The night we stayed these rattled loudly and constantly from just before 4am and did so in other rooms from speaking to guests at breakfast. We didn't know what it was during the night and thought it was the plumbing. We were totally exhausted and it spoiled our visit to Telford as we were too tired to do our second planned activity and I had a 4 hour drive home :(

Review 27:i booked a twin room for myself and my 14 year old son and was pleased to find 2 double beds in the room.

Review 28:That they only offer continental breakfast - but we went next door to Holiday Inn and had a full breakfast for a reasonable price of £5

Review 29:The comfort of the room and facilities! The location was close to the train station! And there is a retail park close by. The staff were very friendly and the price was brilliant! I would stay again should I ever need to be in Telford.

Review 30:Room was very hot and couldn't turn heating down. To be fair we didn't ask how to.

Review 31:Location, comfort, free parking rooms were clean and spacious

Review 32:Wi-fi is £2.50 for 2 hours, at night the gate is closed to the centre so you have to walk about 15/20 min to the cinema and bars. Breakfast is only continental and costs £5 for full English in hotel next door

Review 33:The hotel was spotless and the staff are really friendly

Review 34:House staff must be the nicest in the hotel business . Nothing too much trouble smile on their faces all the time . Rooms tiptop very comfi . Basic breakfast but well worth it for the cost of staying there

Review 35:The air conditioning was a little on the cool side , bed was not up to the standard of premier inn but still comfortable and had no problems sleeping

Review 36:Most everything all staff were very helpful , very impressed withe free breakfast and choice, room was nice and clean

Review 37:Basic Bathroom. Needs a little refurb. Continental breakfast was OK. But please invest in better croissants. The ones there were sofgy from.coming out of the freezer.

Review 38:All was basic but great. Fluffy towels made up for v basic bathroom. Comfortable! Staff great.also can use gym.next door for £5

Review 39:My aircon was broken, so actually running at full heat 24/7 even after I tried to turn it off. I just opened the window though, not a problem except for outside noise with open open so I didn't sleep well.

Review 40:Staff are amazing! So so helpful and just because I waited a few seconds to check in they gave me complimentary wifi!! Bonus! Breakfast was supposed to be continental but they had bacon rolls! Lovely surprise!

Review 41:No drinks available other than from the bar, had to pay for wifi and phone signal was terrible. Toilet & bathroom was not very clean when we checked in.

Review 42:Staff were polite & friendly.

Review 43:Instant coffee at breakfast and wi-fi wasn't free. Two basic necessities in my life are good coffee and easy internet access! That disappointing moment when the coffee machine doesn't start grinding beans for my espresso, but instead squirts out an instant miserable sour splat of boiling hot instant filth still has left a bed taste in my mouth! Plus especially in an area with poor mobile internet signal I'd really like free wi-fi, but here I had to make do with standing at the window! Sort it out and the hotel with be perfect!

Review 44:Lovely hotel, great room, friendly staff, breakfast was included, well priced, right next door to the International Centre, easy free parking and 5 minute's walk to plenty restaurants.

Review 45:Band practising at the international centre was very loud and heard it from the room

Review 46:The shopping area was very close to the hotel. Also close by for food

Review 47:Shower head needed some attention. Better lighting needed for working in the evenings.

Review 48:Very clean, large room, table to work on. Good parking, very handy for my working venue. Staff very friendly and efficient.

Review 49:Excellent business class hotel within easy reach of Telford Town Centre. Have stayed there a number of times as we visit relatives in the area. We always try to stay at this hotel as it totally meets our requirements. All staff are very friendly and helpful.

Review 50:we were not so happy bout the price of the food from the bar in the holiday inn was a bit expensive plus the fact that we had to walk to another hotel for food is a bit silly considering the hotel had a kitchen and could do more food for the guests who don't want to leave the building late at night i.e sandwhiches and snacks the vending machines could do with a little more variety of choice I would like to see more milk coffee sugar and tea bags in the rooms as 4 of everything is not enough for two people

Review 51:me and my wife was comfy and made to feel like we were at home heating was great it wasn't cold we loved everything bout the room

Review 52:Did not enjoy the breakfast experience. It felt like the location for it was an after thought. The room is too small.

Review 53:Staff were extremely helpful and chatty. We received some great advise about local amenities'

Review 54:Convenient for cente of Telford. 24 hour reception as were late getting back due to work committments. Easy to use buffet style breakfast ceral friut bacon plenty of hot or cold drinks. Clean comfortable room. Will use again

Review 55:Bar food, not particularly warm, not enough choice. Just wanted comfort food. Odd mixture of tastes, sausage in crusty roll with chilli on top ?

Review 56:Cleanliness, breakfast, staff, comfort of room

Review 57:The lighting in the room was poor, so applying makeup at a suitable mirror was very difficult. No full length mirrors. Bathroom became soaking after shower so everything in there became wet. There was no restaraunt in the hotel not even bar food, although you could order from the holiday inn next door that meant you could not get room service. Breakfast is poor, only hot item was bacon - not great for a vegetarian! No eggs or beans?!

Review 58:Staff were helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Location was excellent.

Review 59:Having to pay extra for wifi when paying a hefty price per night. No bath ( although I didn't specifically request one, to be fair) Very noisy outside from about 6am.

Review 60:Location and staff, who were very friendly and helpful.

Review 61:Asked for a wake up call on both days and both days I did not get a wake up call. Free breakfast is continental style.

Review 62:The room was comfortable and clean.

Review 63:Limited food availability ( indeed you had to go to the Holiday Inn next door to get any food in the evening). What the hotel don't point out is that there is a huge shopping centre with lots of restaurants just behind the exhibition centre, shame as we would have preferred to eat somewhere other than the Holiday Inn. WIFI is available but the process of contact reception who were inundated with guests arriving and one member of staff available meant that we did not even bother asking. Also annoying that there is also very poor mobile signal in general around this area.

Review 64:The hotel was new and close to the exhibition centre which was great.

Review 65:Hard bed, even harder pillows. No sun blinds in breakfast area. Very poorly located toilet roll holder, which caused injury every time you used the toilet!

Review 66:Location and price

Review 67:Location is great / parking no problem / friendly & helpful staff. Highly recommend this hotel for the mature couple who want some place to relax. Wonderful Shopping Center nearby & eating places.

Review 68:No free wfi

Review 69:Brilliant location for visiting Ironbridge and perfect location for walking into town to eat. Buffet breakfast excellent and good room, spotlessly clean

Review 70:Very pleasant helpful staff and excellent roomy accommodation. Best selection of TV channels I've seen in a hotel. Absolutely no noise from either inside or outside hotel.

Review 71:The fact the breakfast wasn't great. Had to pay for wifi when in other places its free. The hairdryer electric shocked me and marked my hand, they didn't give me an accident form. Overall just wasn't a good stay and wouldn't pay the price again.

Review 72:That after paying £120 for a room they then want you to give then another £10 for wifi which is the basic slow wifi !

Review 73:That Days Inns beside the Hotel didn't charge for car parking

Review 74:Cost was expensive for quality of rooms. Some fixtures & fittings looked cheap where as others were very good. Breakfast was limited

Review 75:Convenience to the conference centre

Review 76:Needed to be revamped in the reception area lounge seating ripped sofas not a good look

Review 77:Locality was good to main centre and you were able to use the facilities at the hotel next door

Review 78:The grossly overpriced "Friday night " rate considering that the hotel does not have a restaurant. When the reception is busy, there was no one to serve in the bar.

Review 79:Located near the Telford Shopping Centre and about 6 miles from the Industrial Heritage sites

Review 80:This was only booked so we could use the pool next door however it was not clear that children cannot use it before 8am. Absolutely furious as we had to leave before 9am. I would have booked something nearer to Weston Park had i known and will do next year

Review 81:Improvements at breakfast time could be made, the bacon was very under cooked on both mornings

Review 82:The hotel was clean rooms were nice size bed was comfy, staff were friendly

Review 83:Breakfast is awful. We skipped it on the second day even though it was included in the price. Our room had a very mouldy ceiling tile and the shower shelf was falling off the wall.

Review 84:Excellent location, comfortable bed, delicious bar menu and lovely stafft

Review 85:Wifi cost - its shame that considering the generation of travellers these days internet is an expected necessity to keep connected whilst away and that it was still being charged for. Bathrooms could do with an update.

Review 86:Bed really comfy. Great size room. Good breakfast options considering it is a budget hotel (don't get that option at a travel lodge!) good location.

Review 87:We've stayed in this hotel a few times now with family and always found it to be excellent value in a very good location. Staff are friendly and helpful and we are looking to return again next year.

Review 88:The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and they made him welcome too.The dining room and bar were being refurbished so we had to go to the neighbouring hotel for breakfast, but that was not a problem. The hotel is in a great location for visiting nearby Ironbridge and its attractions.

Review 89:Our 1st floor room window was on the same level as the adjacent International Centre car park so we had to keep curtains drawn most of the time as people could see straight in.Would request front of hotel next time or at least 2nd floor upwards.

Review 90:Excellent value for money

Review 91:our dinner was brought over from the holiday inn, presentation was poor it had slopped everywhere. but the meal was nice. the women who tells you what floor you are on in the lift, needs shooting

Review 92:the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful

Review 93:The hotel and location are very good. Only a short drive to Ironbridge and the museums. Also only a short walk to the town centre, shops and restaurants. Ideal. This was our third stay at this hotel.

Review 94:V. Poor continentl breakfast.should include cold meats and cheeses etc.Bar /breakfast room souless and uninviting.Lets.your hotel down.No luxury.

Review 95:Very nice spacious comfortable room. Excellent bed.. Proffesional polite staff.Conveniently close to shopping centre, easy parking.

Review 96:It would have been nice to include free WiFi and a variation on breakfast would have been nice, especially if staying there for a long stay.

Review 97:With a short walk out the back of the hotel, it was very convenient for Telford town shops and the wonderful town park. Location was ideal for most of the popular tourist attractions of the area. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 98:Bit of a crush for tea & toast at breakfast - the layout just needs a rethink. Only one lift working over the BH weekend.

Review 99:Spacious, clean, quiet room. Friendly staff.

Review 100:breakfast could be improved but only my personal opinion.would have been nice to have had full english breakfast and use of the swimming pool at no extra cost

Review 101:good position, very clean and very friendly staff

Review 102:Only one lift working all weekend which meant the solo one was very slow and only took 4 adults- we were on the fourth floor. Also in this day I find it annoying to have to pay for wifi. I wouldn't like to be on business and having to use wifi for contacting others,it would be very expensive?

Review 103:Nice room,comfy bed

Review 104:Don't have anything bad to say about it.

Review 105:The cleanliness was exceptional! Bed was very comfy, lovely pillows! Room was nicely decorated and very spacious.

Review 106:beds were brand new and a little hard for me. everything else is fine though.

Review 107:great location for a good price for the town centre the Park and restaurants.

Review 108:we could not make the room warmer pillows were awful, we bought new ones to use so we could get some sleep

Review 109:location and parking good, first impression was of a well thought out hotel but........

Review 110:Bed was hard and had sore back in morning, heating was a problem too, couldn't get the heat to work ,it was only blowing out cold air, weird not having a big main light but their was sufficient lighting available

Review 111:Staff excellent, room very good, although not normally a continental breakfast person,it was good but prob wouldn't of bothered if their wasn't bacon.

Review 112:Having to pay for WIFI. We find that the beds are a bit on the hard side for our true comfort. Double room with 2 occupants yet only one pack of biscuits and you need to use 2 milk cartons in a cup so would have liked access to more.

Review 113:We have stayed at the International on several occasions as it offers great value for money. The location is excellent.

Review 114:No phone signal or 4G/3G inside the hotel yet in the grounds full signal, which begs the question do they deliberately block access to the internet so you have to pay their prices for it?

Review 115:Easy access to town centre

Review 116:Duvet was light and the automatic heating system is noisy and not adjustable so room felt cool overnight

Review 117:Great location with good entertainment nearby, friendly staff

Review 118:Breakfast was cold and not much choice, getting an evening meal means going next door to eat, we were told that the breakfast was cooked at holiday inn next door then brought across to international thats why it was cold??

Review 119:2 double beds in room plenty of coffee and teabags in room

Review 120:bathroom no door on toilet just a shower screen !!!!!!!!!?????, evening meal poor !!!!! breakfast even worse !!!!! think the hotel gave themselves the star rating !!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Review 121:very close to london

Review 122:Paying for wi fi . Especially when most places now have free wi fi

Review 123:Hotel central for site seeing. Hotel was very clean and facilities in room very good . Staff polite and friendly . Will come again

Review 124:Although the venue for breakfast was nearby, it did seem bad management to be refurbishing parts of BOTH hotels at the same time. My husband would have welcomed the opportunity to have a drink in the Holiday Inn while watching football on Sky television, which was not available in the International Hotel*. However, the bar was out of use so he couldn't do that. * Apparently plenty of Adult channels available in the room, but that isn't our thing.

Review 125:The room was good and also quiet, the breakfast mainly good, but as vegetarians we would have liked an alternative to the bacon, which was the only hot item of food.

Review 126:Just a shame the bar area was closed due to refurbishment although we managed with the facilities available next door.

Review 127:Location and comfort ideal for our visit

Review 128:The breakfast area is being refurbished so it is now served next door at the Holiday Inn - only about 100 yards away but no fun for people of advanced years or those with mobility problems. The hotel could have offered a free breakfast upgrade due to the inconvenience but chose not to. At one point there were 44 people all trying to serve themselves to the continental breakfast at the same time and it got rather chaotic - the `fresh` fruit was also served frozen and wasn't thawed out.

Review 129:The hotel is very clean and very quiet

Review 130:the breakfast was served in the hotel next door due to renovation work. If you like luke warm tea and cold bacon for £8 this is for you. It took two days after complaining to rectify the issue, not good enough i think.

Review 131:Good location, centre nearby, friendly staff.

Review 132:the bed was small and uncomfortable. Having two beds meant that the bed side was very close to the wall. The breakfast was adequate and we realised there were some issues with the refurbishment which meant we had to go to the Holiday Inn.

Review 133:The location of the hotel was good. The hotel was quiet overnight.

Review 134:Paid wifi . Who pays nowa days Poor breakfast nextdoor at holiday in but its free and can upgrade to cooked for £24 for 2 people !!!!!!

Review 135:Clean spacious room All usual plus iron and board

Review 136:Breakfast was poor. Bacon not cooked enough, toast burnt. Cold coussants. No saucers, plates or dishes to hand at one point. Layout and choice very limited compared to continent. No table and chairs left except settees and coffee tables.

Review 137:Staff on reception were excellent. We had trouble with tv and it was fixed in five minutes. Very friendly too. Price was good and room was spacious.
