Reviews for Tenuta Margitello

Review 1:The only little drawback is the private road leading to, first one of the guest houses, then to the main building, made me happy that I was driving a rental car and not my private sports car ;-). It is quite bumpy.

Review 2:The view from the room, the pool and the main building was stunning. The owners and staff were very friendly, and the room spacious and comfortable. The pool is quite big and in beautiful surroundings. VG breakfast.

Review 3:Our whole stay was excellent, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, the food was great and plentiful, I would certainly stay at this place again.

Review 4:Fantastic location between Ragusa and Comiso. We spent our last night in Sicily here before flying back from Comiso airport. Our flight was late in the evening and they couldn't have been more accomodating. As there wasn't any pressure on rooms they let us stay in our rooms until the we were ready to leave for our flight. Even if that hadn't been possible we would have been able to stay by the (wonderful) pool until we were ready to leave. There are plentiful changing and showering facilities next to the pool, so we would have been fine. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the day we were there, but judging by the quality of the cannoli we were offered when we arrived it would have been good. The rooms we had were about 500m from the main block, so it was a short drive back and forth for breakfast/pool. Not a problem for us, but worth pointing out. Beds were comfortable (hooray!).

Review 5:We arrived late in the evening and were able to get an lovely evening meal without having it booked. Also we had not got a car as we planned not to hire a car until the 2nd day and they organised a lift for us to the local town and also organised a taxi the 2nd day which we much appreciated as we had to cut our visit short. We enjoyed the food and loved the swimming pool.

Review 6:Beautiful location, we also had dinner on the terrace which was very nice a chep (2 starters, 2 pastas, 1 meat, 1l of house wine and 1 bottle of water for 30 euro)

Review 7:The lane from the main road to Tenuta Margitello is in poor condition.

Review 8:Well located for access to/from Comiso airport. Easy to find off the main Comiso to Ragusa road, with a large signpost. Very nice friendly staff and very good home made food. Nice swimming pool with incredible views across the valley.

Review 9:There was nothing we did not like.

Review 10:This hotel is excellent, we have stayed at some really nice hotels all over the world. This hotel tops them all, it is a family run hotel and Tina and her daughter Cristina are lovely they made us so welcome and are so friendly and helpful. We felt like we were staying with friends.

Review 11:Toilet in shower. Bit difficult to find. Only access to Hotel is from the road between Comiso and Regusa.

Review 12:Wifi in main building OK. Nice welcome with tean and sweets.

Review 13:We loved the peace and quiet of staying in the Sicilian countryside. The view was fantastic. We had a lovely walk down into the town of Comiso. We had two dinners in the restaurant and the food was very plentiful and tasty.

Review 14:Situated in a region with little to see; not much to do at the place itself if the pool is closed. Very noisy rooms, prefer one in the dépendance if you go there.

Review 15:Friendly staff, location close to the airport, marvelous view over the region, clean rooms, genuine local cuisine.

Review 16:The approach road was in poor condition.

Review 17:Liked the fact that they provided a home cooked Italian meal with wine for us despite the fact that we arrived late after our flight from Dublin. Thanks

Review 18:Everything. Nice and comfortable room, staff was friendly, location was good, good restaurant on-site for dinner. Breakfast was abundant with homemade goodies. Overall excellent experience.

Review 19:- airport its 20 min far - need a car for getting the nearest towns of ragusa or comiso - poor breakfast

Review 20:nice and clean rooms, pleasant staff, nice swimpool, wifi everywhere!

Review 21:We liked the location, peaceful and unspoilt. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Cristina and her mama! The food was superb. We had a terrific time and would definitely recommend a stay here to others

Review 22:The bright lights in the dining room. The bumpy road to get there. And the beds (though better than some we've slept on in Sicily) are the usual rather poor standard.

Review 23:Really nice setting on the side of a hill, overlooking the valley. Very friendly staff, maybe the best home made ravioli I've ever had (do book their evening menu), nice pool, really sweet farm atmosphere with sheep, cows and chicken running around (but it's clean and orderly at the same time!). Would go there again!

Review 24:We were flying out of Comiso Airport and wanted to be near the airport. This B&B is roughly a 10-15 drive to the airport, which was wonderful. We had a very comfortable room (with A/C). Reception and the excellent pool was a short drive from our room. Our kids (and us!) had a great time swimming in the pool. We had dinner in the restaurant and were blown away by how delicious it was. Before dinner, a little boy who lives on the farm gave us a tour of the farmhouse and outside area. It was a super fun time that we all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. In the morning, we were greeted by cows right outside our room. Also, the B&B is way up the mountain, so the views are incredible. Comiso is beautiful in the morning. We wish we had been able to stay longer.

Review 25:We flew into Comiso Airport with Ryanair and picked this for its proximity. It is a gorgeous working farm B & B. Rooms are beautiful and very clean and most have spectacular views over Comiso and countryside. We arrived very late and were offered our first canolis and coffee which were very welcome. They make their own cheeses, cakes etc gorgeous. The rooms are a short walk down typical country lane to reception for breakfast which again was very tasty. There is a great swimming pool to chill out after day touring. This is a a great place off the beaten tract and fantastic value for money.

Review 26:Quaint location, could hear sheep coming down with mountain with their bells on, farmhouse was built in 1924, rooms are large and well maintained.
