Reviews for The Old Orleton Inn
Review 1:Light and Fan in bathroom comes on automatically when opening the bathroom door. The fan noise is annoying as it stays on for quite a long time after leaving the room.
Review 2:beautifully decorated, comfortable bedroom. The bar area and restaurant is comfortable too The food is good.
Review 3:Minor quibbles but limited parking and located close to junction.
Review 4:Attractive old coaching inn. Tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Very good breakfast sourced from local suppliers.
Review 5:Having to leave
Review 6:The furnishings are superb. The staff were very efficient, friendly and kind. The food was great and our overall stay superb. Would love to visit again.
Review 7:Found the bed a little small am used to a large king size and had a singe bed
Review 8:Very clean and tidy well decorated with fab bath sheets not small towels. Well appointed room with bottled water and chocolates.
Review 9:Not really a complaint but I don't get on with a fixed shower head as I am only 5 ft.
Review 10:Lovely decor. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very attentive.
Review 11:I was locked out when I returned late (around midnight, they knew I was going to be late) I had to wake up another guest to gain entry. The night porter's attitude left a little to be desired. (They didnt charge me for breakfast by way of apology).
Review 12:The rooms are imacculately clean and neatly appointed. The breakfast was first class.
Review 13:Food good, room we picked wasn't as luxurious as we had seen on Internet view.so initially disappointed but after awhile the set up in the room was nice. I think the decor needed to be brighter and updated. Some of the other rooms we saw later looked more modern. Smaller than we thought. But my sister and I had a good time, proprietors and staff nice and we would stay again.
Review 14:Nothing useful to write here.
Review 15:Breaks the mould of faceless hotels for business travellers. Attention to detail and warm welcome. Food very good as per previous visit. No request is too much trouble.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:Felt at home as soon as we walked in. All staff friendly and helpful. Room/bathroom was not large but had all you could want, view from room 8 over garden was great. The food was superb for both breakfast and evening meals Hope to go back and would highly recommend It is convenient for main roads but noise is not a problem.
Review 18:The hotel was conveniently located for the family event we were attending over the weekend and came recommended by our friends who live locally. We were not disappointed! The hotel was nicely decorated and our room was comfortable and clean. The gardens are superb and relaxing! Our hosts were pleasant and accommodating as were the staff. Breakfast was well-presented and filling and our friends were able to join us despite not being guests at the hotel. We chose dinner from an interesting menu and the meal was beautifully presented, well-cooked and tasty! We will certainly dine(and stay) there again.
Review 19:This is just something to think about for the future... the room was amazing and had excellent facilities, however I would have appreciated the Mattress on the bed to be a little comfier... It wasn't bad, but could be improved upon.
Review 20:The Inn was gorgeous and the staff were amazing. It felt like we were greeted by old friends..!!! The Restaurant was scrummy. We will definitely return at some point in the future. :-)
Review 21:Service in the restaurant was a little slow but the meals were wonderful. Staff very polite and well mannered.
Review 22:Located on the outskirts of Wellington very close to the M54. We had two rooms - one overlooked the Holyhead Road but no "road noise" and the other open countryside. Good staff, comfortable hotel with excellent facilities. We will be back
Review 23:The waiter we had serving us was fantastic. Very friendly and couldn't do enough. Unfortunately we had no electricity all night and all morning (no fault of the hotel, the whole town was out) but the landlord bought up a bottle of wine to compensate.the evening meal we had was outstanding. We had the lamb shank and brisket of beef. Perfect! ! And the scrambled eggs and salmon in the morning was just what we needed. Overall a fantastic stay. Couldn't fault it. :)
Review 24:Not a bad experience in any way, just a few small points as the whole thing was pretty wonderful. The bed was only fairly comfortable - a bit saggy - and the bathroom light came on automatically, which was not my preference at night!
Review 25:Staff very helpful when we arrived needing refreshment after a terrible journey. Most adaptable and helpful at all times. The food was great and offered a good variety in sizes and range of dishes. Rooms showed great thoughtfulness with all sorts of little treats.
Review 26:Not much to do within walking distance, Some noise from local traffic.
Review 27:Good food, friendly staff, nice garden. Clean and comfortable. Good location for touring the area.
Review 28:I suffered a bout of garden envy! The cottage garden at the back is beautiful.
Review 29:Tastefully and comfortably furnished and beautifully clean. Sparkling white towels and bed linen, the pillows were so easy to sleep on! Perfectly situated to visit lots of lovely places around. T food was good too.
Review 30:They have thought of all the little touches which you miss in corporate hotels, from genuinely friendly staff, to a really comfortable, well appointed room, to a delicious, good quality breakfast.
Review 31:The hotel was beautiful and impeccably kept. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. Our bedroom was lovely and had a four poster bed and a Jacuzzi bath. It was absolutely gorgeous. The food was stunning. We had an evening meal and breakfast here. Evening food was delicious and excellent sized portions. Breakfast is the best I've had in a hotel - continental as well as cooked. Excellent. I cannot recommend highly enough. We will no doubt be back. Thanks for a lovely stay!!
Review 32:Cold baked beans with breakfast. Overheard one of the owners gently bemoaning me going for breakfast 10 minutes before the end of breakfast service.
Review 33:The gardens at the Old Orleton are simply stunning, the staff are really helpful. There is a very peaceful feel to the place, and it is decorated beautifully - and spotless! The food was to die for. Highly recommend!
Review 34:the whole experience was really good made our weekend thoroughly enjoyable. Couldn't have wished for better accommodation. The attention to detail was exceptional
Review 35:Was a Saturday night, so we had to wait for a dinner table, but we were relaxed. Wine list could have been a little more extensive. But I'm being picky.
Review 36:Delightful country hotel with an excellent eye for detail. Very comfortable room, excellent shower and high quality linen Menu pleasingly different with local dishes. Very friendly staff.
Review 37:Small. Expensive. Coffee not up to the standard of the breakfast. Internet not tested.
Review 38:Situation. Breakfast (not the coffee). Staff. In room facilities.
Review 39:We knew there were no dinners served on Sunday evening, but we didn't realise that there was no cooked breakfast on Monday mornings either. We were presented at check-in with a continental breakfast in a bag to take to our room, but I'm afraid croissants need to be eaten on the day of cooking so they were somewhat leathery. It would be difficult to suggest how this problem (Monday breakfasts) could be overcome without the owners paying for another chef for Mondays only, or cooking themselves. As, I'm sure many other people do, we like to read in bed before sleeping but the bedside lights in our room were dim and made reading difficult. Perhaps other rooms are provided with more efficient bedside lamps
Review 40:A lovely, homely feel to the Old Orleton. The evening dinner was very good with plenty of choice and lots of extra vegetables and the breakfast was plentiful.
Review 41:No desk in the room -only an issue for business travellers
Review 42:Food excellent, also felt comfortable dining alone in the nice bar area. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast freshly cooked and lots of choice. Would definitely recommend and certainly coming back!
Review 43:Upon booking I requested a quiet room but ended up with a room facing onto the main road. I realised the Inn was on a busy road but thought we would be accommodated at the rear of the property The bed was really uncomfortable, room very hot, had to have the window open all night. As the Inn is on an extremely busy road, traffic noise also kept me awake all night long.
Review 44:Nice atmosphere in the bar area, food ok. Our waiter was very good. Staff nice and friendly.
Review 45:There was no air con and our room was really warm, but to be fair it was warm outside
Review 46:We only stayed one night, the staff were really friendly the hotel had a lovely relaxing atmosphere very clean and tidy We loved the modern finishing touches this hotel had thought of everything even an iron and ironing board and a docking station for my I phone small things mean a lot The evening meal was delicious and really well presented
Review 47:Bacon I understand it was locally sourced and cured but it was tough as both a main course and breakfast - pity all I can fault
Review 48:Staff & management excellent, food and ambience very good. Pity the weather did not allow us to sit in the beautiful gardens.
Review 49:The owner and staf were excellent and clearly took pride in their service. The owner went out of his way to organise a room for my family members who came at the last minuite.
Review 50:The noise from the main road during rush hour but wouldn't deter us from returning.
Review 51:Easy to get to. Room was beautiful, clean with good facilities. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was superb! We ate in the restaurant both nights and the choice and quality were to be commended.
Review 52:The room was beautiful, whole hotel immaculate and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food we had in the restaurant in the evening was good quality, imaginative and well priced. Came down in the morning to a totally unexpected full vegan cooked breakfast which is a great start to the day and was really appreciated. Best hotel we stayed at in our month in the UK. Highly recommended.
Review 53:Disappointed with the meal in the evening. Starter was ok but my rack of lamb main course was probably one of the worst value meals I've ever had. £22 for 3 bits of very poor quality meat and some veg. The lamb was mostly fat. I would have complained if I was asked but no-one sought my feedback. Also for a hotel to only start offering cooked breakfast from 8am is a bit poor. That said you could have continental from 7am. Finally my shower door in the bathroom was filthy and really needs a proper clean.
Review 54:The room was very comfortable and included some nice touches like a dressing gown and slippers. The person on reception in the morning was good and the young guy behind the bar in the evening was as well.
Review 55:Nothing !
