Reviews for Ramada Telford Ironbridge

Review 1:Need to tell people about the pound for locker in swimming pool changing and be more clear on how the door opens to the pool and front door of building should have a swipe card opener instead of having to get staff to open door late evenings

Review 2:Staff were great especially the young girl at reception

Review 3:Went into restaurant and was abandoned by duty manager. After a quarter of an hour we complained to reception who fetched the manager. We told him the service was appalling and refused to pay for the bottle of wine we'd ordered. The charge was waived and a free breakfast was offered by way of an apology.

Review 4:Nice comfortable bed. Clean well equipped bathroom.

Review 5:Bed very hard, water only luke warm. Minor issues such as dirty tissue in box, completed survey card in room show lack of attention to detail. Extortionate cost of WiFi.

Review 6:Staff were friendly and helpful

Review 7:Bar closed before 11,thought we this was 2015.wanted drink as it was anniversary.but staff closed it so they could go home early i suppose

Review 8:As usual,staff friendly,room and bed comfortable,breakfast excellent

Review 9:Being woken up by the chamber maid at 6.30am with there room being next door. Moved rooms and was woke again by the tumble dryer 6.30am. Was suppose to be a leisure trip.

Review 10:Staff were friendly and helpful and the food at the bar was nice.

Review 11:The bar meals were not particularly good. It was Sunday evening so that could have been the reason. I would not eat there again.

Review 12:Location just off the motorway and a few minutes walk to the shopping centre. Plenty of parking.

Review 13:The only thing I didn't like is we waiting about 12 mins at the counter for breakfast and the toast and other things on the plate was cold. But apart from that nothing.

Review 14:I liked the layout of the hotel and location the room was very nice and great sleep. Couldn't fault the staff at all, very welcoming, friendly, lovely manners and helpful.

Review 15:The temperature in the room was rather cool and we couldn't turn it up. But the duvets were lovely and cosy so it wasn't a problem. However, our friends who were staying in another room didn't have any problems with the temperature.

Review 16:Great location, close to the main shopping centre but easy to get to by car. plenty of car parking spaces. Comfortable beds and very friendly staff.

Review 17:Both myself and my partner were really happy with the room however we found the bed to be uncomfortable

Review 18:Liked the location and friendliness of the staff and helpfulness of pointing out places of interest in the local area

Review 19:Great place to stay on a weekend. Good strategic location in terms of close proximity to the M54 motorway (junc 5) and a shopping centre. Great gym facilities too. I will stay again.

Review 20:Location, breakfast poor. Noisy guests groups of youngsters. Rooms tatty and dirty, found s pair of used knickers behind chair in room.

Review 21:Staff were friendly

Review 22:The room was a bit cold later on in the evening. There was an event on, so the normal bar and restaurant were not available to us.

Review 23:Very good location for the International Conference, the Town Centre and the M54

Review 24:There was a private Christmas party on, so the bar and restaurant were closed to other guests; we had to dine in a side function room, which was not brilliant and the pricey food service was very slow--it seemed the kitchen could not cope. But our expensive steaks were perfect, that being said. We ate somewhere else on the second night.

Review 25:Very helpful and pleasant staff, very clean and comfortable room, great location, easy to get to and plenty of parking. Within easy walking distance of International Centre, shopping, cinemas and restaurants.

Review 26:We requested decaffeinated tea for one member of the party and we had to request this item for the room. which was supplied promptly.

Review 27:Good breakfast, Pleasant staff who gave advice when they could about the surrounding area.

Review 28:Sadly one of our meals had to be returned as it was not cooked and was stone cold. This problem was quickly dealt with by staff offering alternatives and a personal apology from chef. Unfortunate incident. It is a shame that the pool is accessed via the gym for which a key is required/sign in/out from reception - small point but for those short of time makes the difference of not using it.

Review 29:Great location, ample parking, close to shopping centre and road links. Spent two nights whilst daughter was playing sport at Lilleshall. Hotel convenient for Iron Bridge and RAF Museum. Dinner in restaurant was excellent, with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Room was comfortable, well equipped and surprisingly quiet considering it faced the road. Pool looked fabulous but sadly no time to use it on this occasion.

Review 30:Chairs in lounge/bar area were surprisingly well worn and uncomfortable. Seems a lot of money has been spent on massive screen TV room but not able to enjoy relaxing drink in a comfortable chair. Car park entrance barrier operated by reception, got soaked first night as speaker button to far away to reach without opening car door.

Review 31:Friendly helpful staff, free upgrade to excellent sized room.

Review 32:Both days the bacon was so hard wasn't pleasant and temperature of self service breakfast could have been hotter. Maybe more fruit/ yoghurt and cereals

Review 33:Staff were lovely and the place was very clean

Review 34:A couple of hairs in the bathroom, I am squeamish with other people's hair! Breakfast was expensive, cheaper to go to wetherspoons not far away.

Review 35:Modern hotel, good facilities, everything you need for a nights stay.

Review 36:Window was locked closed, so unable to open it. Could not turn down the heating either, so not a good night's sleep.

Review 37:Comfortable, clean room. Prompt service for breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 38:Noise in hotel, doors slamming cause way they are not much sleep cause of it prob worst sleep ever in a hotel.. Sorry wont stay again which is a shame.

Review 39:Room was nice good value for money

Review 40:The restaurant staff at breakfast were surly in the extreme. Particularly if you were eating towards the end of the period when they would snatch your plate or cup as soon as you finished eating/coffee. Banging the evening candles on to your table while you were still eating, making it clear they wanted you out. The quality of the breakfast was mediocre, dried out and pricey. There are massively long corridors to the rooms and you have to keep going back to the reception to get out, access outside space. Not good if you are old, or have kids to manage. Thought it was worth half the rate we paid and breakfast was extra. We won't stay again out of choice.

Review 41:The room was clean with Windows that opened and heating that was easy to adjust

Review 42:At breakfast - allow the beverages to be served after the food is obtained - tea was invariably luke warm when it was drunk

Review 43:Friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to assist us during our stay

Review 44:Got a great deal on a double suite; close to the motorway and walking distance to the International Conference Centre; staff were very helpful and friendly (got locked out of the room one night because I'd picked up my friends door key and they sorted it out without any fuss); good food in the restaurant.

Review 45:The restaurant meal was dreadful, very limited selection, slow service and tasteless, badly cooked food. Very poor value for money.

Review 46:Easy walking distance from station, enjoyed pool & sauna facilities. Room clean and comfortable.

Review 47:Staying in a family room with two children, it would have really helped having a little fridge for their milk.

Review 48:Lorraine in the bar was amazing with my children. She made them feel so welcome even playing games and keeping them amused. Very attentive and genuinely nice member of your team.

Review 49:Staff weren't very sharp and made a few mistakes in terms of organisation (this includes the lady that phoned us a few days before our stay). Friendly and polite, however.

Review 50:Good decor, clean room and bathroom, comfy bed

Review 51:Bed uncomfortable, room close to gym so running machine can be heardin room (203). Very noisy guests in bar and corridor past room. Priceof breakfast a joke, £11 each in hotel, 2 ate at local sainsburys forsame price!

Review 52:Close to shopping centre, cinemas and restaurants. Good access fromlocal motorway. Price.

Review 53:The bed was terrible. Frame creaked badly and mattress had seen better days extremely lumpy and hard

Review 54:Hotel location for town centre and motorway Hotel facilities

Review 55:nice atmosphere, clean and friendly place.good price for Saturday night too.i even walked bare foot on the hotel bedroom carpet something I don't normally do as they often don't look or feel clean !

Review 56:Our room hadn't been cleaned under the bed there were papers and biscuit wrappers from previous guests. The plug didn't work on the dressing table and we had to get someone in to fix the light immediately. I wasn't offered any discount there and then and would've expected even a £10 discount for this but was given a card to say if we stay again we could have discount. unfortunately we won't be staying again sorry.

Review 57:staff are extremely helpful

Review 58:Additional cost of breakfast very expensive therfore did not use. Staff corteous but not attempt to engage with customer. When signing in to use pool were not made aware of child swimming lessons on at this time therefore did not use due to cramped space in changing rooms.

Review 59:Very clean room.

Review 60:My mugs/glasses and spoons were dirty and could smell the coffee on them.

Review 61:The location, the comfort of the bed and it was quiet in the evening. Had everything in the room.

Review 62:Bedroom table lamps not working

Review 63:Location to conference center ideal and very easy to find off main road. Has one of the best swimming pools I have had the pleasure of swimming in. Comfy lounges.

Review 64:Ladies sauna was never on, pool entrance a bind having to walk up to reception and get a card each time you wanted to go in the gym or pool.

Review 65:Position is brilliant, pool lovely and warm

Review 66:I booked 8 rooms for my colleagues for a trade show we were exhibiting at. The show was in October and as we specifically wanted to stay at this hotel and not one of the hotels on site I booked this in April. The day before my first group were due to check in the hotel emailed me and said due to a computer error they had overbooked could they please move them to a different hotel on site. The answer was no unfortunately you can't. Then I was told they were going to move us as they had no room available as a larger group wanted more rooms. So I called and spoke to the manager and was told basically the larger group spend tens of thousands of pounds with them, and regardless of the fact that I paid in advance for my rooms in April they were now kicking us out of the hotel and moving us to one of their sister hotels that we had specifically said we don't want to be in. The only reason we were able to get this resolved was the awesome customer service rep from booking.com that called the hotel and told them they were breaching their contract. Furthermore when at the hotel we had sent a pre-authorisation for credit card yet some guests had to settle their own bills and whilst the rate we paid was for bed and breakfast a number of guests had to pay additional for breakfast. I will never use this hotel again.

Review 67:Conveniently situated 5 minutes walk from the shopping centre and restaurants in Telford. Clean comfortable room. A good atmosphere in the bar which was not overcrowded. Staff friendly and helpful

Review 68:No hot water for a bath and the presume low to flush the toilet properly and the window wouldn't stay open noise at 6 in the morning no bar staff on had to ring to get served

Review 69:Bed was comfy

Review 70:- no free wifi in a hotel next to a conference centre. -wifi Code/connection did not work once paid for. Staff were very helpful but could not fix the issue. - breakfast was poor/basic. Had to ask for fried eggs which seemed to arrive from another building and were semi-raw.

Review 71:Clean, new and close to conference centre - even if it is in Telford. ;)

Review 72:Not enough lighting around mirror in room for make up etc - bathroom extractor fan not working so steam up.

Review 73:Location convenient , comfy, no problems, staff nice - didn't use facilities so can't comment

Review 74:Club room not as roomy as we expected - quite small for two people due to being under the rafters so had to keep doing a limbo to get to my side of bed. Dust and cobwebs on bedside lamps. Small changing room. Pool accessed down metal staircase with security door top and bottom.

Review 75:Very friendly staff, especially helpful at breakfast. Extremely firm bed. Lovely warm swimming pool

Review 76:Human-sized towels - many hotels only provide something big enough to dry a pixie! We enjoyed a quiet room facing the lovely grounds at the rear of the hotel.

Review 77:Bar food was a little poor. One member had "Homemade Steak Pie & Chips". It clearly wasn't homemade. It was tough and very salty.

Review 78:It was very convenient for our weekend plans.

Review 79:Bed not very comfortable. Fire alarm went off at 6.30 am on Sunday morning due to shower steam. Surely extraction systems should cope with showers ?

Review 80:Staff very helpful food good service good

Review 81:The Fire Alarm sounded at approx. 06:30 taking everyone unawares, but the staff were brilliant and calm. It was a false alarm but they weren't to know that initially, they just got on with the task in hand - wonderful.

Review 82:Friendly but professional staff, the Delicious Food and the fact that we could have used the pool/gym etc had we wished too (had costumes with us)

Review 83:the only thing was when i paid by cash they wanted 50 pound swipe on card secure room which was not happy with that they said nothing wouid be taken out of my account but they still had my pin number everything else ok

Review 84:good night sleep nice clean

Review 85:The window could do with being able to open further for ventilation. The food was very nice but there were some minor issues but not enough to make a complaint.

Review 86:Proper glass beakers not plastic ones, nice soaps too. The hair dryer was good because it was free to plug in anywhere and not screwed down to the dressing table. The use of the pool.

Review 87:Paying for Wifi?

Review 88:The Chef went out of his way to cater for Sarah's special diet. Thank you. All staff were friendly and helpful, especially Rebecca. We would visit again.

Review 89:Staff very attentive, polite and very helpful. Good location. Attending my daughter's wedding, and everything went just as planned. Enjoyed by everyone!

Review 90:Location dead at night no pubs around had to get taxi to shrewsbury, breakfast expensive went to weather's instead.

Review 91:Hotel was fine thumbs up for pool

Review 92:The fact that the fire alarm sounded 3 times in four days and not one member of staff felt it necessary to inform any guests what was going on. No one checked if we were ok. Whether or not it is a faulty alarm system (I assume it is as it went off 3 times) how were we to know that? We were confused and frightened and left the building each time but saw no member of staff taking a roll call or even seeing we were ok, or even apologising for the inconvenience of a false alarm! It ruined our stay to be quite honest as I could no longer trust the safety of the hotel.

Review 93:the restaurant staff were excellent and very friendly.

Review 94:the bed for me was a little to hard for my liking. it doesn't bother me the room was very clean to me but to others one two speaks of dust as I said to me it was lovely and clean but not everyone is as easy going as me.

Review 95:I liked the style and the pool. the bar was nice a roomy. and the quiet view from the back.

Review 96:The bed was quite hard and the room had a bundle of blonde hair by the window on the venting and in the bathroom had black hair on the wall. So cleanliness could be better!

Review 97:Great location. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I put in a special request for a pint to be available in our room for when we checked in with a note next to it and this was done brilliantly. Decent price though as its near all facilities. We walked it to the town centre and went ice skating, watched the footy and had dinner over the bank holiday weekend and walked it back. Even used the pool table in the hotel so yeh. It's decent.

Review 98:The need to pay for WiFi - in this day and age, that should not be charged for.

Review 99:I liked the cleanliness of the rooms and the sauna and pool facilities available.

Review 100:I found the member of staff on the bar the night I went down to be quite rude and condescending. I completely understand being asked for ID but she went about it in such a way that made me feel uncomfortable, epecially when I overheard her discussing me to another colleague.

Review 101:Couldn't believe the price for the room we recieved, room was really modern and check in was so easy I couldn't really believe it. If I ever happen in Telford again I'd love to stay here another time.

Review 102:DUSTY, DIRTY WINDOWS, HAD TO CRAWL ON THE FLOOR TO PLUG IN THE KETTLE.NO TROUSER PRESS AS ADVERTISED, HAIR DRYER ONLY LUKE WARM HEAT, COULDN'T OPEN WINDOW

Review 103:FREE CAR PARKING

Review 104:Comfortable room but small and sloping ceiling where I knocked my head a few times. Didn't get chance to use the pool.

Review 105:Staff polite and friendly. Lovely hotel. Easily accessible.

Review 106:Shower head in first room not stable - staff moved us to another room. With only 50% occupancy in restaurant there we're not enough menus to go round so we had to wait ! Very helpful staff clearly not being given proper facilities or support from group management . Very echoey corridors. Complicated regime to get to pool - (no staff in pool area ) including using towels from room - leaving room without dry towels potentially.

Review 107:Very warm swimming pool

Review 108:I travelled on my own with my young son and felt safe staying there, the staff were fabulous and really helpful. We didn't have breakfast as it was too late for us but they even offered to get everything set up 30 mins earlier.

Review 109:Absolutely nothing!

Review 110:The hotel was excellent. It was clean and well maintained with fabulous facilities. The staff were all very polite, helpful and friendly.

Review 111:The food was average. We had dinner on the first night but it was dry and overcooked. Similarly the breakfast was overcooked.

Review 112:The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Review 113:No air conditioning in rooms, Did not cater for our dietary requirements (Muslims) We had to get a take away which was a bit inconvenient. Room very small. Swimming pool was closed. soft drinks were too pricey. Expensive Wifi (2.50 per hour)

Review 114:Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Comfy bed. Neat little gym. Well maintained gardens. Free parking. Small bathroom but lovely. Cleanliness

Review 115:Cost of a basic breakfast would have been steep. Easier to check out and seek alternatives

Review 116:Nice secure car park and the added extra of the swimming people / sauna

Review 117:Poor iron!!! Breakfast expensive Long wait to be served at bar - not always staffed! Obviously arrived to early for check in!

Review 118:Clean, well presented, lovely location, no problem parking

Review 119:We were put in a smoking area & the room smelt if smoke... we called reception & they immediately brought us air freshner

Review 120:All of the staff were extremely helpful & pleasant.

Review 121:From checking in and through out our 2 day break this hotel was faultless, the receptionists and room and facilities was excellent. The full English breakfast and the staff in the restaurant was also excellent...

Review 122:.we were pleasantly surprised by our room and the facilities of the hotel . the staff were very courteous and efficient . we had dinner on the night we arrived and breakfast in the morning there was a good variety of choice and we all enjoyed our meals and the service .we were two couples .we would all be happy to stay again .

Review 123:bathroom was bad - it looked nice but the shower was awful hardly any pressure and when pressure turned up scalded us. the tap on the sink was stiff and hard to turn on or off and the toilet didnt flush properly

Review 124:Staff were helpful Nice room (we had a suite) pool was nice gardens were nice handy for our visit to a nightclub in shopping centre

Review 125:Room was next to a door and everytime somebody walked through it would bang, shower ran hot and cold and trickled out. No decaf coffee, never enough milk left.

Review 126:Evening meal was delicious

Review 127:Lovely big rooms with large windows that let in lots of natural light. Kids loved the swimming pool. Great location and lots of parking . Everyone staff and other guests friendly.

Review 128:Breakfast coffee was lukewarm. I did not have it on last morning.

Review 129:It's always easy to stay there. Great deal for a weekend break. Nothing is ever bad.

Review 130:We had a fire alarm during the stay and although a member of staff did go to the fire point no information was given and when the alarm stopped he just went back in the building leaving us wondering whether it was safe or not. there was no check on who we were therefore they had no idea if the building was clear.

Review 131:Bed was incredibly uncomfortable, we had the pleasure of having loads of kids on our floor banging the doors and set off the fire alarm, and the staff did nothing about this when we complained.

Review 132:Location was ok and room was cleaned superbly each day.

Review 133:The pool was out of use Our room key couldn't access the gym In the room only one broken biscuit and the TV didn't work The attitude of the duty manager when I raised these issues

Review 134:Breakfast

Review 135:Good location, ideal room and facilities. Good to have choice of restaurant or bar food service. All staff very helpful in a relaxing atmosphere. Free parking on site.

Review 136:A silly thing but important I think. The kettle lead wouldn't reach any plug without being put on the floor which is a H&S hazard especially if children in room. You have to constantly move about. Staff weren't proactive with info - e.g. had to go back to ask for wifi code

Review 137:The location was ideal for my visit
