Reviews for Saudara Home

Review 1:Albert was a most hospitable host and his staff couldn't do enough for us during our 4-night stay. They all went above and beyond for us, especially in driving us whenever we needed to go to the centre without much notice. They also provided gluten free meal options, helping getting laundry done and super-glue for a broken shoe! The room was magnificent, with stunning views of neighbouring rice patties. The pool was lovely and fresh and the gardens very well kept. The meals we had there were delicious and generous. They also organise tours of the local area and support the local villages. Albert clearly cares about his staff also.

Review 2:Nothing basically.

Review 3:Everything. The house looks perfect and kept immaculate. The owners are very helpful including the house crew also. Will give you free lift to Ubud if need with their chauffer and whatever they can be of service. We had the double room upstairs and can say we never saw anyone around. The rooms don t need an aircon. They are pretty chilled at night without anything.

Review 4:We thought the breakfast was a little sparse and when it came to checkout everything was a little disorganised.

Review 5:The location was absolutely stunning, nestled in between beautiful paddi fields. The village was quaint, locals friendly and great wooden carvings everywhere... If you like Garuda! The room was beautifully presented and spacious. The pool was nice, but refreshing. The free shuttle to and from ubud was a nice plus too!

Review 6:Wifi not available in all areas. Made it difficult for me to make ongoing holiday arrangements.

Review 7:The hotel/home itself is beautiful and finished to a good standard. It was calm and relaxing as only had 4 rooms. The owners were helpful in arranging a trekking guide for me who was a local villager and very kind. We trekked to checkin rice terrace from the hotel. The hotel itself was in the middle of a rice field and watching the sunrise here was beautiful.

Review 8:This place is outstanding! We had a wonderful two nights and wish we had spent longer here. The setting is beautiful, overlooking rice fields. The room is very comfortable, with the sort of attention to detail you would expect in a much more expensive place. The village is fascinating! We loved strolling through the lanes watching the craftsmen at work, all to the sound of the temple's gamelan. Taking a guided trek through the rice fields was stunning! Our stay at Sundara Home was the highlight of our recent trip to Bali.

Review 9:- WiFi in the second floor is poor. - sometimes lots of bugs can gain access to the room from the field (can be prevented by windows shields and Pest control devices). - No refrigerator or boiler in the room.

Review 10:- Owners and Staff are really professional. - Clean and quiet with a crazy view at the rice field. - The food is OK.

Review 11:Nothing

Review 12:Amazing location in the middle of the ricefields!shuttle to Ubud is included!warm and welcoming tenants!and the food is really good!i strongly recommend this place!

Review 13:Comfor Atmosphere

Review 14:There is nothing to dislike about this place

Review 15:Everything!!!!!

Review 16:Everything here is comfortable, 5 star service with only 3 star price. Perfect boss and staff. Nice and clean room, easy to transfer to Ubud and terraced fields. Quite enjoyed fitness and movie centre. All in all, amazing experience and looking forward for next stay.

Review 17:Gorgeous location with views over the rice patties. Only 2 other guests when I was there so everything was pretty much private. Super friendly staff. Make sure to get a room overlooking the rice patties. They are a few bucks more expensive but well worth the money. The owners don't speak English too well but made an effort to make conversation.

Review 18:The owners are French, friendly and helpful but with very limitedEnglish and attract mostly French guests. We stayed 4 nights and foundit isolating with the language. Our room had no tea making facilities sowe had to wait for the staff to open up for breakfast for a morning cupof tea/coffee. Wifi is available but drops in and out. There'snowhere close for lunch or coffee so instead of being able to enjoy therural location or have a pool side day, we ended up in Ubud each day sowe would have been better staying there without the hassle of the driveand the wait for pickup. No mosquito net in our room. No screens onwindows. Only 2 pillows on the bed and no cushions on the daybed so notreally set up to lounge and relax. Shower head wall attachment broken sohand held shower over bath. Only 2 towels for 4 days but I expect wecould have asked for pool towels. One pedestal fan in room meant stuffyat night. Local information limited and all in French. No restaurant butchanging set menu dinner available at 8pm around the table with hostsand other guests. Breakfast fruit lovely but then no protein option, just 2 slices of bread and jams. Hosts both smokers and lit up afterdinner around the table just moving back slightly on one side of thetable. Nice tables to sit at but no lounge area other than pool podloungers. Guests who used Saudara home as a base to explore other areasof Bali with a guide came home exhausted from long days driving on smallroads in constant traffic. Laundry not available. We would have beenbetter staying in Ubud for similar price.

Review 19:Lovely place, but the description is not accurate. Traffic in Bali is sobad that travel to Ubud is usually 30 mins and nearly 2 hours to theairport. Nice home stay at the end of a woodcarving village in thericefields. Our windows opened to the garden on one side and thericefields on the other and we could hear frogs and crickets all nightand saw fireflies dancing in the dark. Our room was spacious with a kingsize firm but comfortable bed, table and chairs and a single daybed, nicely decorated in artistic earthy woods. A couple of carved wooden armchairs outside our door. Dinner is available at 8pm dinner party style(no choice of menu) for very reasonable price prepared by local Balinesecook. Served in lovely undercover open area overlooking pool and ricefield on a spectacular wood slab natural form table. Breakfast is basicjuice, fruit, bread jam, coffee, tea from about 7.30am. The owners offerfree transport to and from Ubud and can arrange drivers and guides. Thelocal staff are lovely and proud of the traditions of their village, which guests can walk to and stop to talk with the woodcarvers(specialty Garuda carvings).

Review 20:Nothing!

Review 21:Very nice place, superb quiet countryside location. Beautiful views all around of rice paddies. Very clean, comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful people. Owners Albert and Christine really make you feel at home. They also helped a lot with a cycling tour, scooter rental and and transport to continue our journey. We stayed 3 nights and it was a very relaxing experience.

Review 22:Everything. This is the closest to paradise in Bali. It´s close enough to Ubud but far enough to be really quiet and tranquil. Excelent staff. The owner and manager is very helpfull and professional.

Review 23:Nothing, this place is a true hidden gem

Review 24:Wow. Just Wow. I'll say it again: wow. And I have seen a lot and amnot easily impressed.Just a short ride into the hills from Ubud, past the beautiful green rice terraces of Tegallalang, this villa sanctuary greets you with a very warm welcome. Hard to describe the feeling of taking the tiny road up, away from the main road, clear the last bumpy track and then see the gates open to welcome you home. Albert and Christine came to Bali not too long ago and did an amazing job on this beautiful villa. Christine decorated the entire place with taste, grace and artistic eye for detail. Have a look at my pictures and trust the actual site is even more spectacular. Your hosts are very warm and friendly and supported by a young and enthusiastic staff of Balinese helpers in and around the villa. They really welcome you into their home and make you feel comfortable right away. The villa has 4 guest rooms which are all very spacious and beautifully designed. Imagine sitting in your huge mosaic bathtub, looking out over the green and serene rice fields from the open window. We never got to see the menu for food and drinks. The kind staff just asked if we were hungry and thirsty and then went into the kitchen to make us a good local lunch. Our 2-year old toddler got his own plate with carefully prepared food. That is the sort of kind detail that sets this unique villa apart from the mainstream hotels, just like the baby crib with matching mosquito net and the baby potty in the bathroom. Really, because this place is so different from the typical hotel, I struggle to find the right words. I would just say: go there and experience it for yourself. It is suitable for anyone who appreciates serenity and grace. Honeymooners, older couples, loners and bookworms, photographers, or even a young 'yuppie' couple with a toddler like us. Go visit your home in paradise!

Review 25:Make sure to get a room facing the paddy fields

Review 26:Very well maintained property, very comfortable. Christine and Albert (the owners), along with the other staff were exceptionally customer friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Food was simple but excellently prepared and served.

Review 27:all good

Review 28:Friendly hosts, great facilities and food, relaxing atmosphere, excellent value for money and a truly fantastic Bali experience
