This beachfront villa is located on the fishermen village of Povljana, on the south-eastern coast of Pag Island. The property offers an outdoor heated pool, a beach bar, a restaurant and terrace with sea views.
A private balcony with sea views is standard in all of Villa Kastel’s rooms. Each room is fitted with air conditioning, satellite TV and a small fridge. The bathrooms have a shower cabin, toiletries and a hairdryer.
Fresh seafood and Mediterranean dishes are served at the Jardin restaurant. The wine bar stocks Croatian and international wines. For a morning coffee and a newspaper, you can visit the lobby café-bar.

Pag Island is connected to the mainland by a highway bridge. The Krka National Park and the Plitvice Lakes National Park are a 2-hour drive away. Zagreb and Split can be reached in about 3 hours by car.

Review 1：Very nice hotel. We stayed in two different rooms, one had a side view of the water, the other directly faced the water. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach, which was great in the off season, but might be noisy and crowded in the peak season.

Review 2：the bar and restaurant staff is horrible. Vacations should be restful and a happy experience - the staff here is miserable, mean and yell at guests. Management and beach bar staff are very helpful.

Review 4：In Povljana there is not much to see. Cute little town with only supermarkets and bars, no shops. The town is 15 KM away from any other town.

Review 5：Very nice place, at 10 metres from the beach. Huge room with seaview. Great shower ! Breakfast was good, but we missed the fresh yochourt.

Review 6：We thought we could have chairs to sit on the pebbly beach, but these were only available by the pool - a minor issue, but disappointing.

Review 7：The staff were excellent and available whenever we needed assistance. Room was spacious, clean, and had lovely views. Excellent and large shower area. We ate dinner at the restaurant on their terrace - the location was delightful overlooking the water, and food was and service were very good. Great breakfast which was included in price, and great cocktails were available (for extra cost) at the beach bar right outside the hotel where we watched the sunset over the water. Highly recommend this place!

Review 13：This is rather a small hotel than a guesthouse we expected, but we enjoyed our stay very well. Rooms are well equiped, clean (maybe not "German level clean") and tidy. We had astonishing view to the sea as villa is next to a small beach. Food was above average and personnel was very helpful and dedicated.

Review 15：Everything was as we expected. Beautiful view at the sea, very good food in the hotel, very good personel, nice swimming pool, not crowded (September), close to the nice beach in the bay. Silence, very good rest.

Review 16：The hotel is in need of a refit. The carpet in our room had lots of stains on it. The bathroom was very basic, the shower cubicle was very small. The TV was old and did not work very well.

Review 18：1. Prefect Lcoation, with private pool, terrace overlloking the bay and see, and beach just 5 meters from the door step. 2. Extraordinery food. Shrimp soup is one of the best we ever had (so we had it almost every day) 3. Staff that speaks I think all languages of the world 4. Room was the size of a rugby field, with 2 balconys overviewing the bay. 5. Close to town center. No more than 20min walk 6. All special requests were made available. We cheked in at 9am, we had a birthday party for our son and the hotel organised a cake, we used the pool after check-out (before a long ride home).

Review 21：The menu in the restaurant lacked lighter meals - dinner size salads, vegetarian dishes.... Also the breakfast menu was somewhat limited, however the quality of the food was very good.

Review 22：Overall we liked Villa Kastel a lot. We were looking for quiet place with beach suitable for adults and small children that would be close by to the hotel. Villa Kastel had all that. The water was very clean and warm. The beach itself has pebbles and perhaps crushed rocks, hence the beach shoes come very handy. There were not many food stands or other stands along the beach, couple "palacinke" (crepes) and ice-cream stands for mid-day or evening snacks were available. Villa Kastel has its own restaurant, the staff in the restaurant was professional, but could of been friendlier. There were two other restaurants near by, which offered same type of dishes for better price. The room service ladies were great - accommodating, always willing to help and always smiling. Povljana itself is very small town/village and doesn't offer much to do except for the great beach. We spent a day in Pag, where we saw "Salt Museum" and had coffee at the town square. We were planning to take day trip by the boat - to see rest of the island, grill fish on the beach and swim in the caves, unfortunately the weather changed our plans. Overall, we were very satisfied with the trip and stay in Villa Kaster and would come back in the future.

The worst however was the food service, food was oversalted, cold and even undercooked, no compensation or fresh food offered when asked to speak to the owner, he was absolutely rude, greedy and when I explained that we were not happy with the service he started laughing and left with a word. Absolutely disgusted will not recommend to anyone!

Review 45：Povljana is missing an old town --> not much to do during evenings with kids, but this was a minor minus for us cause we enjoyed the sea and pool until late evening every night... Maybe the hotel could emphasize to guests that you should't reserve a chair/table at the pool for days. Nice to come to the pool to see only empty but already reserved chairs ;)

Review 47：Villa Kastel is a really **** hotel. The stuff is very kindly and helpful. The suite was big and comfortable, the sofa bed was an extra-large double bed... the heated swimming pool was clear and warm. Everything was perfect, I have no any cause of complaint.
