In a whitewashed building with terracotta roof 1,000 feet from Lourdas Bay on Kefalonia Island, the family-run Lara hotel offers an outdoor pool and views of the Ionian Sea. A white-sand beach is just 650 feet away.

Review 3：You get what you pay for here. We had some ants in the flat and the self-catering is really minimal. You'll be lucky to cook up some scrambled eggs. The owner is a bit grumpy, but luckily the staff are excellent.

Review 13：The terrace and garden area are beautiful with flowers and the balcony, although a little small had the most wonderful mountain view where we could sit and watch the swallows ducking and diving. It's great to have a fridge in the room free of charge also.

Review 18：The steep steep hill was a bit too much To come off the beach we used to hop onto the bus for one stop for 1E ..... well worth it !! If you are young and fit ... don't be too put off it isn't very far ... but it is very steep!!

Review 19：Great welcome from Ericos who couldn't do enough for us any time we asked for his help. Good and plentiful breakfast with endless coffee supplied by Harriet Clean room with sheets changed often. Didn't use the pool much although it was nice to know we didn't have to go down to the beach if we just wanted to lazy about. Trefilis tavern opposite with Susan the swiss miss provided superb evening meals if you didn't want to venture far

Review 20：- we had some problems during check-in ; we booked "partial seaview" room through booking.com, and on arrival, we we accomodated in a room...on the ground floor in a basement, basically on the small road with passing cars, no proper fencing, and definitely no view.... The manager told us that he had no other rooms, and was very surprised we complained. On our note that we paid more in order to be sure we have a nice view, the owner just said with ironical "well you just paid few euros more...". Also, the argument for not haveing the room we paid for was "you booked just 10 days ago, we didn't have those rooms free already then". All very annoying, we wasted the whole first day on trying to find a solution, as living in the basement was definitely no solution for us. After all, as we were with friends we were offered to move to 4 persons studio with seaview on our second day and we agreeded on that. The studio was ok, and we got better price for it. So, if you plan to book with Lara - better check with then directly if you're getting what you wanted. After all it was a nice stay, worth the money.

Amazing restaurant 3 minutes walk, Lorraine's Magic Hill - by far the best food in the ionians - and really good value for the quality. all self produced food, grown on their own farm, fantastic service, go earlish to get a table outside balcony and watch the sun setting.

Review 30：Staff is friendly and helpful. It is close to Laurdas beach. Going to beach will take just 2 minutes, while getting back will take a few minutes more.

Review 31：The staff were lovely couldn't do enough for us. We had clean towels and bed linen 3 times a week. The food and drinks were nice enough and you didn't have to pay for the air con or safe. I would stay again.

Review 55：The Lara is beautifully situated for the beach or countryside. Situated below the towering Mt Aenos, 1650 mts but only 100 mts from the beach of Lourdas bay. The hotel is comfortable, and the staff friendly. It has a large terrace on which to relax and enjoy an aperitif. For guests who prefer the more relaxed holiday can spend the day alongside the hotel pool.
