Reviews for Hotel Ristorante Le Clarisse

Review 1:I've never been treated with such kindness anywhere I have traveled. Danilo made sure to take care of my every need from a late dinner off the menu at no charge to a luxury breakfast for one when there were no other guests. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The decor is also unique, beautiful views, great location, and awesome food.

Review 2:Vibration noise in room for a while. Missing breakfast due to leaving before 8am, would like service to begin a little earlier.

Review 3:Excellent evening meal. Friendly staff. Large room.

Review 4:The very detailed attention towards their costumers. Many hotels should learn from Le Clarisse! One night we had supper out side on the terrasse, it was a little chilly, so the waiter asked my wife and i if we would like to have a warmer blanket, so thats what he did, he brought us a nice warm woolin warmer! So we enjoyed a delicious supper under the stars. A funtastic experience!

Review 5:The hotel has sea views from the rooms, but you can also hear the sound of the trains running along the coast. Ear plugs help!!

Review 6:This ex convent has been maintained to a very high standard and is extremely well run with nothing too much trouble for the wonderful staff.Dinner on the terrace was a delight and the food fabulous.

Review 7:We liked everything about this place. The staff (Danilo and Ivan) were very, very hospitable and they made sure we were comfortable not only in terms of accommodations but in the restaurant as well. I highly recommend La Clarisse and would stay there again.

Review 8:Incredible property from the 1600s with large rooms overlooking the water and under a castle! Dinner on the outside terrace was some of the best food we have had.

Review 9:Very hard to find. Do not rely on your GPS in your car as it will try and send you up footpaths. Make sure you research how to get there before setting out on your journey!!

Review 10:Fantastic location up on the hill. Great to be able to stay in such a historic building. Amazing views and wonderful watching sunset while having dinner on the terrace.

Review 11:The bed in our room (Suor Anna) was inadequate in size, too small comparatively to the big volume of the bedroom and also too ordinary for that kind of old style building. An obvious lack of decoration in the bedroom.

Review 12:The very large bedroom and the very small size hotel situated in a old convent that is offering a good restaurant service with a sea view.

Review 13:The staff was great. Daniel was great. Everything was great about our stay. The food was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Staff wonderful, area and town beautiful. Would absolutely stay there again.

Review 14:Very unique boutique hotel and great restaurant in a town with not much going for it but well located to explore the area . Couple of nice restaurants also near the hotel .

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:My wife telling me i'd done well for booking it. The visual joy of the ancient building, a former convent. The food, the wine, the sunset on the terrace.

Review 17:We just loved everything about this hotel! Location, interior design, view and especially the very friendly and professional people working there. We're looking forward to being there again!

Review 18:Amanthea....Hotel La Clarisse, Beautifull place 10 min from the beach. Excellent restaurant and service. People with a smile. Thanks for everything. Roel e Anna

Review 19:Only drawback was the 227 steps to the "new town", but that really was the physical workout that made room for great food

Review 20:Everything about the property. The special attention provided by Danielo and Ivan was exceptional. Unbelievably, ran into old sailing friends from long Beach, Ca. halfway around the glove. Unreal

Review 21:Absolutely nothing!!!

Review 22:Our room was fantastic, with a spiral staircase leading to a door on a balcony above. This didn't lead anywhere, but we like to take sexy pics of my partner(fully clothed but with very short skirts-tasteful), and this room was just perfect for this. There was a fantastic view out to sea from our porthole type window. The building itself is a wonderful old building complete with a chapel, large dining rooms etc, possibly once a sort of 'Lord of the Manor' type building, set high over the 'new' town. Dinner was excellent and was served on a terrace with fabulous views over the town and out to sea, on a lovely warm evening. The staff were superb. Breakfast was also served on the terrace in the morning sun. What more could anyone ask. We arrived by train and the walk from the station took around half an hour, as we knew it would, and was fairly pleasant. When we arrived and the owner found this out he said we should have phoned and he would have picked us up.

Review 23:the rooms are no big luxury there is no elevator the area and city are not amazing

Review 24:the terrace of the restaurant friendly staff authentic building rooms are OK to stay after dinner

Review 25:During the day, only the housekeeper is present so it's not really a hotel to spend your day with a good book and a drink on the terrace. Although you may sit on all the terraces! (and there's a lot to see in Calabria)

Review 26:Our stay in Le Clarisse was amazing! The rooms are huge and so clean with a view on the Sea. The Wifi works perfect and the palazzo is so beautiful. The two waiters in the restaurant are the very best, i felt like a princess and the italian food is excellent. We will go back!

Review 27:Leaving. But we will return one day we hope.

Review 28:perfect all the way, spectacular views amazing building, perfect comforts i.e rooms, food exceptional, waiters could do enough to make your stay welcoming, the views where you dine are out of this world. The sunsets are spectacular.

Review 29:There are a lot of stairs in this historic building and parking is a bit of a problem. You cannot check in before 16.00 hrs (closed).

Review 30:This small hotel (4 rooms only) is build in an old church. The building is huge and is an historic adventure. It has an excellent restaurant with high end cuisine. Dinner at the terrace is a nice experience. Staff is friendly. .

Review 31:We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful and the accomodation was something special with an interesting history. The Restaraunt was charming with fine dining, wonderful meal and excellent choice of wine. It's a little off the main shopping but if your looking for a quiet place with only a few massive rooms and lots to surprise, then I recommend you stay.

Review 32:The food

Review 33:Bathroom a bit obsolète

Review 34:The localisation, The site, The food

Review 35:Locato is Very Nice and confortable. The Rooms was Very Big, so the bed. I liked It Very much

Review 36:Everything was perfect.

Review 37:Amazing and very big room with sea view.We had dinner in clarisse restaurant and was really delicious.

Review 38:Amazing breakfast. Very kind and thoughtful staff. Great views. Very clean.

Review 39:Hard to find

Review 40:Amazing dinner Unique old building

Review 41:nothing

Review 42:Place has 4 rooms....all are large and have lots of room. Great view of the sea and breakfast was great

Review 43:Loved the location on top of the Mountain - Dinner with a view was great! Great value for your $

Review 44:no dislikes.

Review 45:Service was excellent, staff very accommodating and helpful. Lovely area of the village. Very picturesque.

Review 46:Beautifull historic builing with fantastic views, enormous comfortable rooms, delicious food but most of all wonderfull, kind and helpfull owner for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Review 47:We were attracted to this hotel because of the supposedly charming historical town center. However, upon arriving we discovered that the entire town was under scaffolding due to retrofitting. The castle was not accessible either. We would not have stayed overnight had we known. Our rooms were 3 flights up.

Review 48:The hotel was quite grand with sea views from each of the three rooms we booked. Meals were excellent.

Review 49:The stairs are a bit of a challenge - but we're healthy for us!!

Review 50:Lovely old convent and great staff - away from the bustle of the town. Had a good meal there as well.

Review 51:* No elevator for a hotel with rooms on the 3rd floor.... * The bathroom, & especially the shower. The water boiler was inside the bathroom, & was dripping. The shower itself was cramped & everything inside it (shower-head & shelves) was cheap plastic.

Review 52:* Staying in a mansion. Nothing like it. It's big & opulent & very impressive & you feel like an old fashioned noble. We loved it! * The room ('Tiberius') was huge, just the bathroom on its' own could have contained entire hotel rooms. It was also clean & had a lovely view of the Mediterranean (the beach is ugly because of the railway going through it but we had a beautiful sunset nonetheless. * Service was lovely, if a bit lacking in the English department. * Location- just over the town, fairly close to everything. * A very good restaurant, though a bit expensive (everything we tried was very-good-but-not-perfect, if you know what I mean...). * Central heating was perfect (the nights can be chilly in April).

Review 53:Nothing to dislike.

Review 54:Le Clarisse Hotel is amazing! The interior is incredible. The rooms are large and have character. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We only spent one night but I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely go back.

Review 55:Finding the way to the hotel and parking a little difficult, but this is a minos issue.

Review 56:Good stuff. Great restaurant and breakfast. Nice view from the room.

Review 57:Bed and furnishings a little basic. With soft furnishings would be stunning, but then too expensive!

Review 58:Excellent staff who were polite ,friendly and very helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. Lovely old building with sea views.parking was also available.

Review 59:Somewhat outdated bathroom Not easy to park around the hotel, staff is helpful though.

Review 60:Great hotel with very good restaurant. Beautiful and stylish hotel where many weddings take place. Staff is very hospitable. Big and clean room. We had a good dining experience. The restaurant is somewhat more expensive then somewhere else but worth it.

Review 61:The only negative I can think of is that the hotel itself sits on top of the hill above the town, so if someone wanted to be close to shops/restaurants, it is about a 15 minute walk downhill. This did not bother us at all, but I can see that some might not like it.

Review 62:This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. For most of our stay, we were the only guests staying at the hotel, but the staff was so attentive to all of our needs. Le Clarisse had the best service of any hotel we have ever stayed in. I would recommend anyone visiting Amantea to stay at Le Clarisse.

Review 63:If you like art and history this hotel is for you! Perfect setting for a romantic stay. Spectacular views from the breakfast table. Great food, wonderful staff

Review 64:We chose La Clarisse because it was one of the few options that didn't look like a tacky beach motel. We arrived in May with zero expectations and were really blown away by the excellent service and the aesthetics.Service. Thanks to the maid staff, this was the cleanest hotel room of the hundreds that I've stayed in over my life. Regarding the restaurant, we were grateful that we chose the Full Board option. The restaurant manager and waiter were true professionals, and did everything for us. For example, when I booked the hotel, I mentioned that one of us is gluten-free (hoping that they might be able to point out something on the menu that is gluten-free). As it turned out, they made a whole entire gluten-free MENU just for us, with numerous options (including multiple choices of pasta shapes) for each of the 3 or 4 courses, including dessert (though we were normally too full after the first courses to even get to try the desserts ... the price was great considering how much food and the level of service that we received). Same story at breakfast. Even the local red wine they gave us was surprisingly perfect.Aesthetics. I felt that the aesthetics were actually better than the pictures (minus the fact that the courtyard—though still nice—had tile, instead of grass, when we were there). Even our room looked bigger and better, with nice hardwood floors, tastefully-exposed beams, and interesting architectural choices. Breakfast on the deck had a luxurious view of the sea, but we actually preferred facing towards the cliff and the enchanting old city. All of the internal and external aesthetics were very romantic, and we really appreciated the architecture. In general, we felt grateful to have lucked out with such a gem.Although the beach was close, we were mainly happy with the location because it is in an older, more enchanting, portion of the city.

Review 65:There was nothing I did not like.

Review 66:The location is great. The service was excellent. The restaurant is exceptional in both food quality, presentation, service etc.

Review 67:Parking is limited.

Review 68:You have to like a country setting. Amentea is rural italy. We loved it!

Review 69:It felt like a privilege to stay in such an exquisite place.

Review 70:hill up to hote but it is more than worth it

Review 71:everything there was nothing to dislike

Review 72:friendly staff excellent food great view and wonderful walking trails.

Review 73:none

Review 74:Friendly English speaking staff. Good location in the center. Parking space. Good size room.
