Reviews for Dan Tel Aviv Hotel

Review 1:Indoor pool was under construction and Booking did not provide the information at time of booking. I would not have stayed in this hotel if I would have known.

Review 2:elegant hotel, breakfast is exceptionally good.

Review 3:A long way to get to the pools (which were lovely) but a little difficult for my wife as she recently had an operation on her knee. The exit to the beach from the hotel was closed so we had to go all the way round. We were told that the reason for it was that the season has finished.

Review 4:Room was beautiful and clean. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of everything. Many choices of lovely and tempting food which was very well presented. Lovely to eat and look at the sea.

Review 5:There was a cockroach in the tiny gym, which also had broken air conditioning. The TV didn't work. The staff were extremely unhelpful and rude. The hotel tried to charge us more than agreed via Booking.com using a "payment rate" which was higher than the exchange rate and when we complained, the front of house manager was so patronising, asking us "whether we had ever stayed in a hotel before?"

Review 6:The breakfast selection and location to the beach was very good

Review 7:Billed as a Five Star and it simply is NOT. Seemed like it was at one time, a LONG LONG time ago. Facilities remind me of my childhood Country Club but untouched since then. Service is awful (not mean or rude, quite nice actually, just terribly incompetent). They would constantly call you to see if you needed anything and when you would say "YES" and ask for something, you NEVER got it. We had several rooms and all had the same experience which simply became a running joke throughout our long stay. TERRIBLE WIFI!

Review 8:Location. Breakfast.

Review 9:The entrance to the beach is closed and to go to the beach you must walk a lot!

Review 10:It's a good hotel only the restaurant is regular, very expensive and in my opinion the food doesn't correspond with the price!

Review 11:The pool is small and not easily accessible, as it is the pool of the King David The breakfast was supposed to be "one of the best in Israel" but it was disappointing compared to peers We had booked a room for 3 people. The staff upgraded us to a suite, which was nice, but actually it was only for 2 people. We had to tell the staff three times before they brought the third bed (a folding bed!!!). We also had to beg the staff to bring additional bath towels, sleepers and bathrobe as they were only for two people. The service is definitely not the one of a 5* hotel...

Review 12:Very beautiful hotel and rooms: comfortable, modern and well decorated The location of the hotel is awesome

Review 13:The Hotel is old and out of date. The carpets are stained, dirty and way too old. The rooms are dark and you feel like you are in a small cave. I had a horrible stay.

Review 14:The staff is very friendly and accommodating and moved us to a new room when requested.

Review 15:Street noise on sea front Every day I had to ask for either water, soap or fruits while staying in an executive room where usually this is provided for every day and "free" of charge Breakfast is still excellent but less than what it used to be. The breakfast hall is way too cold (airco too strong)

Review 16:Breakfast Pool Location View Executive Business lounge

Review 17:The Wi-Fi is free but a somewhat unreliable connection based on where you are on the property. A "premium" connection with faster speed and for which you have to pay is supposedly available but we weren't able to access this option.

Review 18:From the moment we walked in, we were provided with top notch service from every member of the Dan staff. The hotel itself is wonderfully appointed, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we had during our trip. Being able to walk across the street to the beach was the icing on the cake. I can't wait to stay at the Dan Tel Aviv again!

Review 19:Housekeeping careless Breakfast room staff not friendly or attentive and tables and chairs not cleaned Some days no towels in room and flowers allowed to wilt and die and not replaced until we complained

Review 20:a little worn in the bathrooms no shops really not the quality of the King David, and so I believe a little overpriced

Review 21:Rooms comfy Food good Front desk helpful

Review 22:Firstly instead of the suite I booked, we got an apartment room in tower which is very old fashioned and nor renovated, with old bathroom, and located next building from the hotel. For reception and breakfast u have to go in another building. After beach I came over the Tower and security asked me the room number, I said 412 instead of 401, so he screamed and kicked me out of building, that he didn't see me and will not let me come in! He was completely mad and out of control. I went to reception and asked to help ne with that man. So they followed me and then bag a pardon. Next day in the elevator was sitting huge dog, who didn’t let come in and out people. So in hotel said that this is not there responsibility because dog belongs to the owner of the next apartment. In the morning in breakfast, hostess was pushing me that I have paid just for one person breakfast. Then I proof opposite and she agreed. I booked room for 450 USD per night! This hotel could be rated maximum for 3 stars! never more!!! Would never be back , even for free.

Review 23:good view good location

Review 24:I think it should be refreshed a bit.

Review 25:Isabel Reis takes real care of the guests. most of the issues have been covered and resolved in nice way. business lounge is private and not crowdy. cleaning 3-4 times a day is good way of taking care. thanks

Review 26:No use of indoor pool

Review 27:Service

Review 28:We were made to feel important to the staff and very welcome.

Review 29:Noise in middle of night from people sleeping rough on street and screaming right outside bedroom windows

Review 30:Business lounge and bathroom

Review 31:staff is friendly, location is great

Review 32:Staff very kind and very profesional Excellent cusine Very clean Proximity to beach

Review 33:broken shower door lack of good maintenance

Review 34:unchanged sheets lost item

Review 35:location, swimming pools, main lobby

Review 36:tried to give me a lower grade room, and not what I ordered. I never got the right room. Too many steps for old people.

Review 37:Excellent service from the concierge desk! And from housekeeping

Review 38:Wifi sometimes did not work

Review 39:Concierge extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast most delicious in my life! Beautiful Mediterranean views from restaurant

Review 40:There were not enough glasses in the room. Every day 2 bottles of water were left but no glasses.

Review 41:Wi fi is awful

Review 42:Very helpful russian personal

Review 43:The location of the hotel is excellent, the buffet breakfast was fantastic.

Review 44:nothing

Review 45:Clean and cosy rooms, thoughtful personnel. Special thanks to Russian Speaking Market Manager Isabel for making our stay comfortable.

Review 46:Bar staff uninterested in serving us or even offering us a menu - too busy chatting to each other

Review 47:Not one complaint!

Review 48:The friendly staff, and of course location location location.

Review 49:No consistency as far as the bathroom supplies were concerned eg sometimes I would have no towels left in my bathroom, sometimes bath towels but no hand towels, sometimes no bin. Level 18 food could be more interesting and the late meal could be left out until 9.00 or 9.30pm as business people usually eat late so I often missed lunch as I had appointments and then only had fruit and cake on level 18 available by the time I reached there. At least a cheese platter offered later would be nice. If you ask for some service to the room eg extra towels, sewing kit etc. service exceptionally slow and if you phone down to complain, u r normally met with a "tell someone who cares" attitude instead of an apology and sort it out as soon as possible but no......again if u complain u still wait for far too long eg towel that I needed for a shower the other day as the staff left me NO towels in my room and I was rushing to a business appointment and when I requested some towels I waited 20minutes before I rang again and then waited another 15 minutes until 1 towel arrived. This is not good enough for a 5 star hotel. This service needs to be stepped up urgently if you want to keep busy people happy. Thanks and good luck with it all Freida Room 1605

Review 50:I am staying here for a month in total so have had plenty of opportunity to experience all aspects of this hotel. What I liked? The location, the friendliness of the staff, the 18th level facilities, my room 1605, the wifi facilities

Review 51:carpets in room are absolutely filthy. getting room serviced by lunchtime was very difficult. we always left the hotel at +/- 9:45am and returned at +/- 2:00pm to find room not serviced at all.

Review 52:Very good location. Staff friendly. lounge very nice. breakfast excellent

Review 53:hotel which shows that its golden period is over as it is not value for money anymore. Further we faced with too many misunderstandings or mistakes in the services provided in only 48 hours stay. A simbolic discount was offered but it cannot change the overall negative judgement.

Review 54:food recipies and restaurant waiters mood

Review 55:Overpriced. Value for money is low. Hotel needs some renovations as it looks a bit old, specially the rooms.

Review 56:Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 57:Some rooms are not as good as others. I would avoid rooms next to the lift e.g. 563 line because they're smaller and less well designed.

Review 58:LOcation and food are great. Staff helpful and considerate of special needs.

Review 59:cheap toilet paper is naff for a hotel of this quality. Odd bits of maintenance need doing. A sign of neglect?

Review 60:LOcation on the beach, food, staff very helpful

Review 61:Everything at the hotel was unbelievable. I was travelling with a group of friends and we were looked after like VIPs. We absolutely loved pry experience at The Dan Hotel and will always recommend it to my family Nd friends.

Review 62:Price for this hotel is totaly overpriced! For 2 times less you can find 3 times better hotels in Tel Aviv. The facility is old and this definitely is not 5 stars hotel. The people at reception desk are trying to rob you all the time. just one example: If you order taxi trough them, you will pay much much more... To one way trip to Jerusalem they are asking 400 dollars. If you take taxi on your own, it will take you about 100 dollars. The minibar wasn't working for 3 days and no one really cared.

Review 63:The hotel has perfect location and good breakfast. Everything else is not worth it.

Review 64:I didn't like a few things about the room. No balconies, though of course that's an architectural feature of the block that can't be helped. The storage area was very poorly lit - not great for someone who dresses mainly in black as I couldn't make out which clothes were which! - and there were very few drawers, - the customer service lady was went to quite some trouble to track down a drawer unit for us, and I appreciated that. There was the usual charge for wifi in the room - and to add insult to injury, it only allowed for one device at a time. Nonsensical, as we had 5 devices between us. We had access to the club lounge which was useful for meetings but suprisingly it didn't have free wifi, although there were PCs and printers ready for use by guests. I was able to print out our boarding passes very painlessly.

Review 65:This is a brilliant location, very near both beachfront and Dizengoff. I liked the excellent helpful attitude of the staff, who were especially helpful in finding us a small chest of drawers as there wasn't enough storage space. They were very attentive and followed up any requests with a phone call to make sure we had received what we'd asked for. I appreciated the bottles of water which were placed in the room daily, as well as fruit and chocolates, with plates, cutlery, serviettes. A delicious cake was placed in every room for Shabbat (Friday evening). We asked for a tea-making kit on arrival and it was provided without the charge which is usually made. Bath products are generous and the maids show up in the evening to freshen up towels and turndown. Breakfast was good; Israeli breakfasts are usually brilliant -the Tel Aviv Carlton really scores very highly here with amazing variety and quality - and the Dan was no exception though the coffee could have been better. The club lounge was comfortable; tidbits on offer were changed and replenished very often throughout the day. The hotel is very well maintained, reception is smart and fragranced, with beautiful flowers. Overall this hotel is a great choice, but the wifi thing is irksome as we want to be able to relax in our room while doing emails, read the newspaper on ipad, play Word etc.

Review 66:1)Small rooms with low sealings 2)No free wifi in the room and very bad wifi in the lobby 3) Staff at reception ignores clients and make them wait way too long. Need more receptionists. In general the hotel needs fresh-up and some refurbishment to qulify for 5*. At the moment it is no more than 4*

Review 67:Clean hotel close to the beach with a good breakfast Good restaurant

Review 68:Overpriced, it's not 5 star hotel as we used even in european countries. the hotel is very old, it looks like no renovation till it was build a long time ago, according to the fotos of some famous persons stayed in hotel. the breakfast very poor for five star hotel and the same food for all ten days we stayed in hotel, in lobby I saw several times some insects on the floor, the personell does not look very friendly...as I understood it's usual situation for Tel Aviv for all hotels

Review 69:the view

Review 70:Wifi was lost money. Slow. Down. Expensive. Staff apologized. Tough tofind restaurant for dinner. Too many stairs. No gift shop. Dark.

Review 71:Location. Room.

Review 72:A bit outdated in places like pool area. Room was very simple. A great4* hotel but not more if to compare with Europe or usa. But perhaps youshould not expect more in Israel.

Review 73:Great things: beach and promenade location, staff, breakfast, cleanness, room comfort

Review 74:- We arrived at 2am after a long flight. They put us in a room opposite a bar with lots of noise. So we complained, then we changed rooms to the smallest hotelroom ever. Next day we complained and then they put us in another room saying that all the rest was full. The room was actually about the same size with a very small 2 persons bed. There was a terrible smell coming out of the shower. When we complained, they came to 'spray' and they gave us a bottle of wine. The pool looks old. The female front manager was ignorant. For us to overrated, standard rooms are small and overpriced.

Review 75:- Location and breakfast is the best

Review 76:All the staff were very pleasant and professional, especially the customer relation staff who were absolutely fantastic, addressing any issues quickly and efficiently. Probably the best I have witnessed.

Review 77:Car to airport was too expensive. Cab would have beencheaper/better. Not sure if it was available at 5am

Review 78:Fabulous service. Great restaurant on premises.

Review 79:Very hihg price no laundry and pressing awfull swimming pool rooms arenot so good for this high price no free internet in the room

Review 80:Location breackfast staff

Review 81:The hotel's original design is superb but the hotel now is in deepneed of renovation. I stayed in this hotel 12 yrs ago when still a kidand it was magical. My parents still talk abt this reveling experience. It is a shame that the hotel was let to deteriorate this far. Small, poorly equipped, unmodernized rooms

Review 82:Staff is amazing, trying to help out in every way they can I wantedto stay a bit extra and they did not charge me though I stayed until6pm food was amazing though it is hard to find bad food in tel aviv)) location is the best in tel aviv! Central and also on the part ofthe beach that is not yet affected by the works (which meansfantastic views)
