Reviews for Herods Tel Aviv By The Beach
Review 1:Overall the hotel was clean, but some areas are in need of a makeover.
Review 2:We really enjoyed are stay. The hotel has a really cool vibe. We loved the 1930s nostalgia decor. Location can't be better. Right on the beach! Our room was upgraded because we went in the off season.
Review 3:All was great
Review 4:We stayed 2 nights the night before our wedding , the bride and bridesmaid stayed a night and enjoyed an upgraded room from double executive room to a suite on the 14th floor. The 17th floor traqueline was very convenient and hospitable with great food and drinks, where the groom waited as the bride was getting ready. And very comfortable bed for sleeping after the wedding ! Great breakfast the next morning
Review 5:We were in a boutique hotel in April and wanted to stay in a bigger hotel this time, big mistake!!!! The hotel looks neglected, dirty, the bathroom was dirty, with hair in the bathtub and floor, only two bath towels, cigarette butts in the balcony. We complained about this and the manager offered us an upgrade that we didn't accept because we didn't want to spend time in moving for only one night, she was very nice and polite. When you travel the minimum thing that you expect from a hotel is a nice and clean room. The manager should give a look around the hallways carpets and bedrooms and will understand. It's unacceptable!!!!!
Review 6:Location was perfect. Dorin Levi, the guest relations manager was very nice, tried to resolve the problem.
Review 7:There should be a smoking area next to reception for guests and staff To see a receptionist smoking out in the middle of the night is not good or safe
Review 8:It was a fantastic staying in the hotel The check in and out was easy The staff was so friendly and helpful Thanks Danit for the tour in the hotel so I wouldn't miss anything Thanks for all in the business launch for their smiles and help Even the reception team was very understanding Thanks Harods
Review 9:Rooms are ideal for one or two people. It is too cramped for three people (although the hotel did accommodate with three twin beds) The shower did not drain that well. That is my only complaint.
Review 10:The location is fantastic---great water view and walking distance to great restaurant area. The staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast was fantastic (huge number of choices of delicious foods. Even the pickiest eater can find something they like). The staff was very accommodating of any request.
Review 11:Unfortunately the cleaness of the room was very bad, the cleaning personnel seems to do the mininum. For sure is not what I expect from Herods.
Review 12:Amazing view of the sea, view, excellent lounge with good food and spirits, vip assistance really top! Incredible breakfast with anything you can imagine.
Review 13:No bad experience
Review 14:Location is on the beach with seaview terraces. Front desk and staff extremely helpful and service oriented. I would return for business or pleasure
Review 15:Gym was tiny and cost extra. 3 person room was a little small so upgraded
Review 16:Breakfast was great, staff mostly great, lovely position. Hotel mostly in good condition
Review 17:Problems with the telephone services Access to the beach: elevator access was not available and we had to take the many, many stairs... I needed 3 days of rest in bed to recuperate. Not for older guest...
Review 18:the Lounge and the breakfast.
Review 19:Clearly not a 5 star hotel as advertised. The rooms were very small and the bathrooms in particular were very disappointing both in terms of size and comfort.
Review 20:Room was old and smelly. Several damages. The balcony was not at all of use since it was located above the aircon from the kitchen. Loud and it smelled like a frying pan. No hot water on the bathroom. The bed was of sub standard quality.
Review 21:Very good israeli breakfast. Located at the waterfront.
Review 22:The Club was a disgrace, the room was old, the balcony was in shambles, there is no beach access even though it is on the beach and the staff was very nice but incapable of helping correct any issues because they needed the manager who was non-existent. The worst hotel I have been in in Israel!
Review 23:I liked nothing about this hotel.
Review 24:I did not like the pool. It was salt water had no view and no lounging space to just relax.
Review 25:I would like to thank the entire Herods Tel Aviv for the most comfortable and warm stay. They went out of there way to cater to my every need. Thank you for the upgrade to the 17th floor where the food and views where wonderful. Friday night dinner was one of the best I have experienced in any Hotel in Israel
Review 26:It was my second time in Herods. This year all were much better than year ago. The room was very clean and comfortable. Manager Shikma presented us visitings to Busines Lounge. A lot of thanks to Shikma and Shalom.
Review 27:The dishes in the hotel dining room were barely warm. The dinner dishes were always the same.
Review 28:We got upgraded to an executive room with access to the lounge. Customer relationship agents were really friendlfy and helpful.
Review 29:Room was a bit smaller than expected.
Review 30:Everything! Business lounge was a wonderful treat, lovely breakfast. Staff there were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful .
Review 31:The staff was quite helpful when dealing with the numerous issues we had such as uncleaned rooms. Sandra from the reception worked as hard as possible to make my friends' and my stay comfortable. We really appreciated her help.
Review 32:We had a great time and thought the hotel was really lovely. August is an extremely busy time every where in israel and most pool areas are very crowded. The pool area unfortutantely just was a little small for the ammount of people staying in the hotel.
Review 33:The staff were fantastic, in particular Id like to compliment shikma, who was our client manager. In ten years living in israel I have never experienced such thoughtful and excellent customer service - it absolutely made our weekend! It was my husbands 40th birthday, but my being 38 weeks pregnant meant we could not go too far from home. Shikma made it her mission that we should just have a great weekend... not only did she see to it that our room was upgraded, she also gave us access to the 17th floor which was fab. We came to our room that evening to find it had been filled with balloons, cake and wine! due to the busy August season there was not much room to lie at the pool, and chairs were sometimes hard to get, shikma was so considerate of how heavily pregnant i was that she even organized special passes for us to Gordon pool, and all done with a smile and real care that we should just have a great time. We found all the staff to be particularly thoughtful and kind and it was a really wonderful change from service we have usually been accustomed to in israel.
Review 34:The pool area is a little small but its on the beach and there are a few local pools
Review 35:Stayed for the night after our wedding and the one after, staff were amazing kept congratulating us and checking we were okay. Shikma the guest relations manager was amazing. Service was fantastic perfect way to start off married life
Review 36:Wifi in the rooms was not the best. Maybe I came in a bad day...
Review 37:Customer service is amazing. Breakfast was excellent and the location is #1. This is the third time I stay in this hotel and will not replace with any other. The executive room is a whole different experience, giving you access to the launge. I would really recommend.
Review 38:Bathroom not clean, toilet seat broken but was fixed when we complained, cupboard doors stiff - not easy to open, wi-fi weak
Review 39:Friendly staff, good breakfast, upgrade with facilities (food) on 17th floor. received gifts - chocs, wine, fruit each night
Review 40:Me and my wife got married and after the wedding wanted to go to a hotel to relax a bit.we booked the harrods hotel in tel aviv. The price was good so we started from that.we called the reception desk a day before and told them that it was our wedding night.about half an hour after that we recieved a phone call from Shikma that gave us her personal phone number and told us that they are excited to welcome us and if we need anything to call her. The day of the wedding we got our view to the beach,18th floor executive room early them the usual checkin time so that i could relax before the main event. When i walked in the room the bed was made with roses on it,robes, flipflops, fresh fruit and lots of(in hebrew) pinookim!. Shikma checked with me to see if everything is ok and if i needed anything at all.after the wedding (which was amazingg!) We got back to the hotel room at 2 in the morning to find a chilled bottle of chamagne and an assortement of cheeses which was such a surprise, made us feel special!! The next day we woke up late because of the party and missed breakfast. I called Shikma to see if she could do anything and about ten minutes later we got a call from the kitchen asking us what we would like to eat and about 15 minutes after that it was in our room at no extra charge!.juices, eggs, cheese, bread, cakes!, We were beside ourselves. She told me that we have access to the executive lounge in the hotel which was amazing. In short, We felt like royalty, from the second we checked in to the second we checked out. The room, the hotel, the swimming pool and most of all the way that we were treated was amazing!!!!! This hotel was an incredible discovery for us an amazing experience!. P.s. The hotel has a private exit to the beach and is close to everything in tlv.perfect perfect hotel with perfect people!
Review 41:The staff and service provided was excellent. Everyone was friendly and eager to please. We were treated as VIP's and truly appreciated the experience. We would highly recommend the hotel to friends and family.
Review 42:Great hotel on the beautiful beach in telaviv!!! If you want the best location literally on the beach, and most of all ask for Shikma (guest service manager) and she will be sure to be a friendly face and take care of your needs! Honestly highly recommended!!
Review 43:Pool and area was very small
Review 44:Service. Paricularly the VIP lounge staff. Shikma,Shani and Yoav. They were courteous ,helpful and always with a smile. The hotel is very lucky to have them. I'll definitely come back
Review 45:When the hotel manager found out that we were so displeased, she sought me out to listen to our complaints. She was very sorry and gave us a meal certificate. Chickma is her name and without her the hotel would have received a much worse review
Review 46:doors on the corridor are not soundproof, elevators were very dirty and extremely slow and twice I had to wait 10 minutes, the room was not a 4stars (I found out that Israeli hotels assigns themselves the stars independently of the international system...); breakfast was very abundant with huge variety of food, but quality was very average [maybe less quantity and more quality would be better]; one morning we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated for breakfast... and then they gave us a dirty table; the pool is crowded and surrounded by high walls; in front of the elevators there was always a very bad smell. All in all, I do not think it is worth the price it costs.
Review 47:conveniently located. comfortable bed, nice welcome basket.
Review 48:I wanted to face the ocean but they did not have full view. But is was okay since i was on a perfect floor & I had some view of the ocean:) best what I liked also was theyhad a VIP room that was amazing you can go there eat break fast and they have some thing to eat all day u most look in to that because I'd is not offered to every guest
Review 49:Every thing
Review 50:The major disappointment of staying at this "beach" hotel turned out to be the closure of the gate leading from the swimming pool to the beach, denying direct access enjoyed by us in September 2014. Staff gave differing reasons for this unexpected closure - not good enough. Also, an incident with the room key not working turned into a saga where staff lied, delayed and misbehaved.
Review 51:Shikma Schechter, appointed as my Guest realtions person, was very good at coming to the rescue when an incident happened as well as being very charming and helpful on all occasions.
Review 52:Gym has too little equipment. I would't call it a gym. Internet speed is not stable. It fluctuates from low to normal. Room cleaning. They make a bed, but forget to wipe the dust. They improved a lot after I complained. Building exterior certainly needs a renovation.
Review 53:Perfect location. Easy access to the public beach. All rooms have see view. Nice modern interior. Service is superb. I was treated like Prince Charles. Loved the breakfast in there. Some many options to choose from.
Review 54:Found the hotel to be excellent in many of its offering. The staff are friendly, proffessionsl and helpful with a welcoming smile. The location is excellent and the rooms specious. In all nothing will keep me from using again.
Review 55:The hotel location is great in front of beach, the staff were pleasant specially in the concierge. The room has a good size and always cleaned. The breakfast was really nice, large variety of options. I received as a welcome gift, fruits, chocolates and snacks. Really pleasant stay in this hotel.
Review 56:Shelly is a problem solver should a problem arise. If there is one thing that did not rate so well it would be the pool area however the beach is outside the door which is a much better option.
Review 57:I love coming back to this hotel. It's like coming home. The staff, location, breakfasts, comfort. From the greeting on arrival by Galit at reception, to Shelly and Danit. Nothing is a trouble. can't wait to come back again
Review 58:Being on the beach parking was challenging. This is an older building and there are areas that need to be brought up to date. My sliding door for the balcony could not be locked. Traveling on business I needed to modify my reservation and spent several hours trying to negotiate the change fee. If not for the help of Bookings.com I would have been charged over $1000 to make my change, so beware of the fine print !
Review 59:Location on the beach was nice. The staff in the business center were pleasant. Guest relations manage Shelly Shem Tov was kind and helpful, she seemed to genuinely want to help and accommodate the customer.
Review 60:From the moment I met the guest relation manager Shelly nothing was too much trouble. She went out of her way to ensure my stay was comfortable and it certainly was
Review 61:Everything is very old, the personnel is slow. Very expensive for the level of service.
Review 62:Location, but many of the most important hotels are in the area.
Review 63:poor breakfast, facilities need renovation, the decoration is outdated and the hotel cannot be considered as a 5 star hotel with international standards
Review 64:great location
Review 65:We ordered a baby cot and they did not bring it. I asked twice and nothing happened. The hotel is not very clean. The windows were very dirty. We came just in time for check in and anyways we waited for 1 hour to have the keys to our rooms.
Review 66:Location,
Review 67:Had to get my room key 3 times until it worked. Even the maids key wouldn't let me in. Told my cell phone deactivated the key. 1st dark haired Concierge was rude, 2nd ginger haired was nice and tried to help me. 3-4* rating.
Review 68:The business lounge was a pleasant surprise, but under staffed. I felt sorry for the 2 people running it. Needed wait staff to clean up after guest.
Review 69:1. When we get in the room for the first time there was a floter, a gient sheet in the toilet. 2. The hands tawel that was in the bathroom was coverd with make up. 3. When i arrived to do checkin i wanted to live after shabat and in the desk they said that i need to pay 150 shakels more i said ok an he said you dont have to deside right now you can do it tommorow so i came tommorow on saturday and they said the hotel is full and tha i need to leave and clear the room.
Review 70:The hotel looks verry classi and lactury.
Review 71:Missing direct access to the beach (but there are works in progress to do it)
Review 72:Cordiality Clealiness Position Executive Lounge Fast Check-in and Check-out.
Review 73:Horrible hotel with horrible service. We had a very bad experience in the SPA. Staff was very rude. They wouldn't give us towels although there were lots of them, explaining it that they use conditioner for them and its not for normal use. What??? Changing rooms extremely dirty, it was scary to take a shower there. Nobody would ever clean your room until you call them 10 times and ask to do it. Comparing to 'neighbors Renaissance and Crown a Plaza the condition of Herods Tel Aviv by the beach is 3 times worse.
Review 74:Very good Hotel with perfect service, the staff, especially Mrs. Shani and Mrs. Danit always carefull and present, it's really a pleasure always to cone back.
Review 75:Most employees do not have the etiquette by North American standard, so it's kind of wierd, but it's ok.
Review 76:Great view and nice room. Great dessert, yummy!
Review 77:Awful payment system, I had to pay cash or a card which is with me. I wished to pay with another card, which wasn't with me, but it turned to be impossible, but in case of room cancellation it would be possible somethow to charge the card which wasn't with me
Review 78:Nice hall, good room, on a seaside.
Review 79:Wasn't fond of the check in gal. No smile and rude. Not a great way to start the three night stay. Small rooms, no room in fridge unless you pay five of the main tv channels didn't work. Wifi slow unless you pay more. For $200 a night in a TINY room, these things should be mandatory.
Review 80:There's a balcony and comfortable bedding. They left us a small bottle of wine and a chocolate bar.
Review 81:They sent us to VIP check in, eventhough we werent VIP and it took 30 minutes to check in.
Review 82:The staff were very friendly, the hotel is next to the sea and the view from the room is really amazing.
Review 83:Either you are facing north and that means rooms with a constant noise of the road passing below the hotel or you are facing south, most likely facing a building The elevator have been positionned just in the middle so that you have only two rooms on each side close to the beach front. One of them being along the elevator noise. I think this building should be demolished and replaced by a new one more to the standards of the 21 century
Review 84:The staff is very courteous and helpful
Review 85:Problem with room keys both electronic and shabbat. Spent quite a bit of time waiting in corridor for security. Room quite small. Hair dryer not adequate especially in an executive room. Rear of hotel overlooking sea very shabby as was pool area. May not want to stay here in summer.
Review 86:Restaurant, Shabbat dinner. Club lounge. For a winter stay generally good value
Review 87:We booked a club room which according to the order was meant to include free entry to the spa. The hotel had no idea what I was talking about and said it's an external spa which isn't included
Review 88:Bathroom ceiling is, ugh, moldy.
Review 89:Practically paid for location, facility is dated, frozen in time. We were upgraded to corner suit (room 106) one bedroom two bathroom, so it is a consolation. Making it good value for money.
Review 90:The bathroom was small. The bed was uncomfortable and hot - did they use synthetic fabrics? We were on the south side and the sound of the matkot (?) game on the beach road drove us mad!
Review 91:We were upgraded to allow us the use of the Executive Lounge, which was comfortable and proved to be really useful. The staff throughout were friendly and tried really hard to please.
Review 92:This is not 5 star it's 3 star breakfast appalling food staff rude would not return ever v expensive for what ur offered sea vies is not sea view!
Review 93:Small SPA and Gym, not hermetically closed windows leak and cause noise from winds, weak aircon
Review 94:Friendly staff, very good business lounge, great location and view, great breakfast
Review 95:Nothing
Review 96:They upgraded me, at no charge, to an Executive level room, the view of the Bay was amaxing, the staff was very attentive with class AAA+ service. The breakfasy was huge, extensive, and very delicious. Highly recommended!
Review 97:It took a very long time to check in and even longer to get our room. Very disappointed that although the weather was good the pool was closed.
Review 98:Location. Concierge was very helpful in booking a restaurant.
Review 99:The fact that they said we get our room at 2 and made us wait till after 3 which was a pity cause it spoilt our afternoon as we could have left luggage and gone out instead of sitting around the foyer.
Review 100:Room,breakfast and location
Review 101:facilities required maintenance . (toilet did not flush properly, one telephone did not work,no instructions on how to use safe, telephone no plug in bathroom ). Maintenance staff came reasonably promptly but did not always fix the problem. These problems should have been foreseen prior to arrival of guests in a 5 star hotel
Review 102:location good breakfast Friendly and efficient staff on reception who assisted wherever possible(late checkout etc) Complementary bottle of wine and choclates
Review 103:NO PARKING!!! Need to pass through the Atarim parking which is expensive. Rooms need to be renewed. Small & crowded shower. Tiny pool
Review 104:location on the beach
Review 105:No parking options at the hotel, nearby parking is expensive, security staff was rude, common areas of the hotel are not well maintained & not clean, housekeeping staff was difficult. Our view from the hotel was the sleazy-looking Pussycat club, the plaza next to the hotel is dirty.
Review 106:Beach is very nice & easily accessible from the pool, breakfast was crowded but many choices, room was clean & comfortable.
Review 107:Everything was dirty, the service was very rude, the executive room had just some drink without glasses and some piece of old cake, when we finally went to the lobby for the check out they try to ask us all kind of thing for stole us more money.. Absolutely never more
Review 108:The good was great but... Very dirty cook
Review 109:The staff is rude, the service was bad the swimming pool is small, hot and uncomfortable, the price are unreal expensive and during the check out they do everything for stole much more money is possible.. Absolutely go away from here
Review 110:The position is great
Review 111:The staff was excellent, we got married and arrived at the hotel at two am to a parki space that they reserved especially for us. We arrived to a room with a surprised bottle of champagne and cheese and crackers with a plate of fruit. The staff was very nice and helped make it a perfect wedding night.
Review 112:In the breakfast I asked a waitress for a coffee and she replied: "do you see the coffee machine ?please go there and serve yourself". this is a 5 stars hotel ? Also, the pictures of the room in the website are different from the reality.
Review 113:location
Review 114:The lack of free wifi access in this day and age is ridiculous and the hotel need to rethink this. We were told at reception that it was not worth paying as there is free wifi access in most of Tel Aviv (indeed there is free wifi two minutes walk along the beachfront from the hotel!!!!
Review 115:The hotel is right on the beach and not far from the main part of Tel Aviv. The rooms were OK and the breakfasts were huge
Review 116:THE ROOM I WAS GIVEN WAS ON ONE OF TOP FLOORS,- AS I HAD REQUESTED,- WITH A WONDERFUL SEA VIEW! ALL THE MEMBERS OF STAFF, I DEALT WITH WERE VERY KIND AND HELPFUL.
Review 117:So called 'Triple room' had no third bed Air-conditioning couldn't get the room cooler than 26 degrees C 1st floor noisy compressor just below balcony No breakfast as part of the deal - outrageous as the price was $400 per night!! High cost of parking even though it was outside and very small and tight
Review 118:Room was ready when we arrived Lovely wine and chocolate provided as complimentary welcome gift Efficient security warnings during rocket attacks
Review 119:Cut my foot on glass in the room. Hotels response was to clean (althought not thoroughly) and lave a plate of fruit in the room. Poor effort really - due to a lousy cleaner
Review 120:no free wifi. refrigerator in the room was the mini bar. We had to ask them to remove all their items, and it kept our stuff cool, not cold. parking cost 60 shekels a day!
Review 121:It was clean, with a nice ambiance. Food was excellant. Easy access to the beach. decent pool. comfortable room.
Review 122:Lack of control at the pool, kids splashing, jumping with total disregard for adults sitting and no one told them to stop so I had to leave the pool area.
Review 123:Liked the room, the view with a patio. Staff were helpful and responsive.. Would have liked an alternative place to eat other than very expensive dining room especially over Shabbat. N
Review 124:It was overpriced, the rooms were old, the staff was 'tired', calling front desk meant waiting for 5 minutes until someone answers the phone. There was renovation in the room next door. The rooms themselves were depressing.
Review 125:Having complained about getting the most run down suite in the hotel, head of guest services lady (can't remember her name) was actually helpful and did a good job to make a horrible situation less bad.
Review 126:stayed here twice. 1st stay had broken glass in my room & I cut my foot. Room was immediately cleaned but they did not move furniture and still bits under the desk. 2nd stay there was broken glass in the breakfast room. We pointed this out to a waitress and she picked up a few pieces but it was not swept up. Dangerous practices.
Review 127:the stuff and costumer servis was exellent
Review 128:The club outside by the promenade was loud at night Unable ton sleep
Review 129:Location was perfect Excellent breakfast and dinner
Review 130:Dirty, unfriendly and very slow staff, old and noisy
Review 131:Breakfast
