Reviews for Maxim Hotel
Review 1:My only compliant would be that the rooms are kind of small, but they are clean so that made up for the tight space.
Review 2:The staff was very friendly and the location was right on the beach. It was also close to an amazing Thai restaurant around the corner.
Review 3:Claimed to be with sea view - it was side sea view from a small side window which was not even clean. Bathrooms very small.
Review 4:Location, free parking, small hotel
Review 5:Just 3 minutes walking to the beach, easy to reach old Yofa and the port! Nice and friendly staff. Especially, the aged gentleman, Solly who works at lobby. We enjoyed the day at TLV.
Review 6:For an Israeli breakfast I think they could have more of a variety.
Review 7:Maxim is very clean and staff are very willing to help. The beds are so comfortable!
Review 8:- EXTREMELY POOR breakfast (no ham, no warm dishes) - average cleaning in the room (bathroom super clean though) - staff could be more kind - first come first serve parking, meaning it can easily be full - no restaurant
Review 9:+ free parking + centrally located on the seaside + rooms are big enough + wonderful roof balcony
Review 10:The breakfast variety - need to improve It was saa breakfast - tuna - every morning.
Review 11:Location - close to the beach and the city, Beautifull view from the hotel sundeck, Clean room and also sea view Cookie and coffee/tea at 5.00 PM
Review 12:We enjoyed our entire stay and would not hesitate to return there.
Review 13:We could not fault the hotel. Every member of staff was so kind and helpful to us and our family who visited us.
Review 14:Rooms are ridiculously small!! 2friends traveling together with 2 single beds guaranteed but ABSOLUTLY no space to walk into the room once a suitcase was opened. Only 1 person fits in a room. Glass bathroom door means NO privacy. Elevator is the smallest I've ever seen. People at the desk were nice but repeatedly gave bad information on locations & events.
Review 15:Location was very good. Breakfast was nice and afternoon snacks were included. Staff was very pleasant.
Review 16:Great view of the sea and able to walk across the street to the beach which was clean and well used. Walking distance to port of Jaffa. Good restaurants in many directions. The sun deck was a good place to relax and have picnic supper.
Review 17:I usually end every trip to Israel with a couple nights in Tel Aviv at the Maxim. Excellent location! Comfortable, good parking, Close enough to the airport, great breakfast.Great value!

Review 19:Everything was excellent. What we expected, was more!!! Really excellent hotel. We had excellent room, according to some notes from this site we expected extremely small room and not so comfortable, but the room was absolutely fine! Breakfast was fine, stuff as well. No complaints at all! For sure this will be our favorite hotel and we will be back!!!
Review 20:Very small room for 3 people
Review 21:Proximity to beach. Great breakfast and availability of refreshments during the day. Also coffee and cake offered between 17h00 and 18h00. Availability of parking.
Review 22:All the hotel staff were very professional, kind and polite. Especially worth mentioning Said, who works on the front desk. He knows all the hotel guests by name, which is especially nice when you meet and greet personally. For 12 days in Israel, your hotel, and especially the staff are very distinguished in the very best side in comparison with all the services in the area of life in Israel.
Review 23:Trouble with the remote; maid only changed towels and picked up the sheet on the small bed. She left a used coffee cup. The reception more than tried to make up for it.
Review 24:The reception people and area, front you congregate on nice sofas, back part ypu eat from a buffet with cappucinos and croissants always avalable.
Review 25:Rooms are pretty small. Thermostat for Air Conditioning went out onenight (and it was over 90 degrees outside). They eventually calledmaintenance at 11:30 P.m and it was fixed, but we had to stay up untilthen or move to another room which would also be inconvenient. Hallways(and elevator) were always very warm and uncomfortable
Review 26:The staff was very friendly and it was a very good value.
Review 27:For a traveler who wants to be near the beach, this is a great location. However, it's a super-touristy area, and doesn't have a local feel at all.
Review 28:The breakfast was excellent, and check-in was smooth.
Review 29:When I booked I stated 1 room for 2 people and 1 for 1 - when we got there we were told it would be extra for the 2 people - it would have been good to have had the correct price from the start.
Review 30:I have stayed at this hotel before and it is excellent - very central and clean with all the amenities I need in a hotel - l
Review 31:Poor wifi in the room. One guest had a long public internet-phone business conversation in the lounge sitting area disturbing other guests and staff refused to intervene. The sitting area is a useful amenity because the rooms are so small.
Review 32:Small size, well designed, helpful staff.
Review 33:Being woken up by cleaner hoovering the hallway , that was every morning. You can hear into the corridor easily from the bed. Bed also not comfy.
Review 34:Location and friendly staff
Review 35:If you get hungry in the night, room service is not available. Although there is Mcdonalds just across the hotel.
Review 36:The hotel staff are very warm and helpful. They helped me arrange my tour to Jerusalem and Nazareth in a very short notice. The location is just perfect, its infront of the beach and near a lot of restaurants.
Review 37:The position is very good, central and practical to reach the beach and also to hang out around the city center. Also close to bus stops and supermarkets.
Review 38:Room and bathroom were a bit small, but still comfortable.
Review 39:Great location very near the beach and not far from town. Very helpful staff, particularly Saeed.
Review 40:The rooms were a bit small.
Review 41:Location is great, close to the beach, restaurants, Jaffa. Liked the early breakfast, and the free afternoon (5-7) coffee and cake time. They (staff) were nice, on the day when we checked out, they let us hangout in the lobby until 10pm when our taxi took us to the airport.
Review 42:Love the location of this hotel, just cross the road, we were in the beach. Restaurants and bars just short walk distance. Old Jaffa as well is within walk distance. Convenience store just on side of the hotel open 24 hours. Breakfast was very simple, no many variety.
Review 43:Smal room, there is no meat on the breakfast. It was not a big problem for me, but my for my husband...
Review 44:Very friendly staff, good location, good breakfast
Review 45:The view of the sea, which I booked on purpose. Hair dryer, tea/coffee in the room. Nice decor. Comfortable bed. Windows that opened wide. Lots of variety for breakfast. Would recommend this small, central, perfect hotel.
Review 46:Breakfast was ok nothing spectacular
Review 47:Location was outstanding - across from the beach - great access to all the fun shops and activities. Close to all the cultural activities in the city - staff was amazingly friendly. Room small but very clean and comfy
Review 48:The location is excellent, just in front of the beach and close to the Marina, the port area and other attractions. Very good restaurant near by as well.
Review 49:We felt the staff could be more hospitable especially when greeting us at the front desk. The kitchen staff was very pleasant and the good was always delicious!
Review 50:We had a great time at the Maxim hotel! The location across the street from the beach and the roof top view and the delicious breakfast each morning were all excellent!
Review 51:Breakfast selections were a bit skimpy, but this was during Passover, so we can understand.
Review 52:They allowed us to take a very late checkout, which gave us a chance to walk to Yaffo and back and to enjoy the city. The roof top patio offers a great view of the sunset, great place for a drink at the end of the day.
Review 53:Air con not yet operational apparently because the season hadn't ticked over, despite the warm temperatures, but window open even from the fifth floor was very noisy. Construction work along beach made access esch way confusing - would have been good if staff had been more au fait with this complication, eg had a map that showed its extent and ways through rather than fobbing it off as a non-issue.
Review 54:Good location near beach and near shops and restaurants. Coffee almost all day in the lobby (not late morning tho).
Review 55:Excellent location. Rooms immaculate and every comfort. Breakfast offered great variety. Very nice gesture by offering complimentary coffee and cake for a few hours in the afternoon.
Review 56:Although the information provided said there wa free ethernet service in addition to free wifi, the ethernet did not work. Small elevators.' The kitchen help didn't understand both Hebrew and English.
Review 57:Cordial service, breakfast selection
Review 58:There is nothing to did not like.
Review 59:Everything: great location, great furniture, comfortable bed, very clean, delicious breakfast, very polite and dear staff. The manager himself came out to great and say goodbye when I was leaving. Definitely will keep this property on my list and will recommend to all of my friends and family.
Review 60:double room a bit snall may be and old fashion decoration ( Brownish curtains and cushions...)
Review 61:Location, 5 min walk to the beach and to numerous shops and restaurants , clean , confortable, wifi does work well everywhere in the hotel, not a big hotel which is nice and friendly
Review 62:Shower was difficult to keep water in. Small room
Review 63:Great service, very good breakfast. Beds firm but quite good. Very helpful and friendly. Location a block from the beach
Review 64:it was great!
Review 65:Food is bountiful. Parking is a plus A young woman at the front desk is amazing. One is a bit unhappy possibly with himself. But, I was made to feel at home and encouraged to ask for help. I have been to Maxim a few times. Their recent upgrade is stimulating and luxurious that makes you feel comfortable.....like somebody really cares about this place. It fascinates me...sounds weird. It's steps from the beach. I could go on.
Review 66:Room was so small we had difficulty finding place to put our not excessively large luggage. Two of us wee climbing over each other to dress etc.
Review 67:Excellent wifi, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Good coffee available all day
Review 68:parking is limited. The hotel has very limited parking places shared by all hotel guests
Review 69:Great location, clean and comfort rooms, great service, great breakfast, etc....
Review 70:- very small room with a tiny window. if you plan to spend in the hotel more than just the nights, the lack of space in the room may become a big burden - the hotel ordered a taxi for us for airport destination at a fix price. the taxi driver charged us 20 ISL more - there is room for improving the cleanness of the rooms - during the 4 nights of stay, the TV did not function and no one fixed it (although we have addressed it. fortunately we did not have time to watch TV). suggest you check if TV set works from the very first day
Review 71:- excellent location, close to the sea and the area where one can find many places to eat and drink - helpful staff for ordering tours - excellent breakfast - cosy atmosphere - we have arrived very late night but in a few minutes we were checked in
Review 72:The room was not isolated, there was a door between mine and the room next to in the wall and I could hear everything from this room. This is not very pleasent.
Review 73:The location is really great, close to a lot of restaurants and bars. And just a few meters from the beach.
Review 74:The temperature control in the room wasn't brilliant, but I found that it ventilated well with the window open, so not a major problem at this time of year.
Review 75:Lovely, helpful, and friendly staff. Fantastic location. Breakfast great!! Modern, clean room. Free wifi. Roof terrace was beautiful to watch the sunset over the sea.
Review 76:The bathtub may look cleaner and be cleaned more often than once for 2 days, men in the lobby may smile (in Europe it is the simple politeness) and demonstrate the readiness to give the recommendation with more interest to a guest. If one of them would like to speak with aquaintance visited - would be better to discuss the details of their private life somewhere else, but not in the cosy and quiet lobby. If the hotel prefers the cash in USD - would be better to inform the guests before.
Review 77:Location - no buildings between Maxim and sea, the roof - great view and comfort seats, prompt registration, polite receptionist, peace and quiet, cosy room, very comfortable bed and pillows, cuisine (might become better if add more Israeli notes). The set for bathroom and the cosmetic compliment is amazing idea and really very useful in TA climate. So, do not economise water for bath cleaning and smiles for the guests - and the price/quality rate will be the best!
Review 78:No hot meals during breakfast but this is standard here.
Review 79:Great location in the middle between Jaffa and Port (both within walking distance), close to the sea and nice beach. Hotel recently renovated with comfortable rooms and reasonable breakfast. Astonishing view from the roof terrace.
Review 80:Single room is tiny (but cheap!) Not a quiet hotel...lots of noise from the street and there was also construction across the street that was loud. I am a light sleeper and had trouble with the noise.
Review 81:Location close to everything, near beach. Very clean, cappuccino available in the lobby at no cost
Review 82:The shower/bath does not seem to be renovated on the 3rd floor. Some of the staff need to be more friendly to guests. There is a building being built at the front of the hotel and sometimes there is noise from 7am.
Review 83:I have stayed at the hotel for over 20 years. Despite the renovations it is still essentially the same hotel as before - a small, homely hotel. Unlike the big hotels near it on the promenade, it is right next to the main streets of Tel Aviv like Ben Yehuda. It still has great views of the sea and a new roof garden.
Review 84:Rooms are very small. For some people it might be a problem. For us it was OK because we only came to our room to sleep.
Review 85:Location is perfect - 2 minutes from the beach, 10-15 minutes to central streets with bars and restaurants. Walking distance to Yafo - around 40 minutes. Rooms are small, but modern and clean. Facilities are good. There is a small free parking downstairs and if it's busy - several parkings are available within 2 minutes walking. Breakfast has nothing special, but still is enough for a good start of the day. Free tea&coffee with cookies at 5 p.m. Staff members are very friendly.
Review 86:Great location. We walked every day. No buses needed. You have to like walking. Nice view from roof top and suntanning area. Ocean down the steps from front door.
Review 87:I had an amazing stay in the Maxim hotel, the staff is very nice and helpfull and the location is perfect! Only a few steps from the beach and close to everything you need during your stay in Tel Aviv. The rooms are very clean and quiet, and there is a very nice roofterrace!
Review 88:Tried and tried but can't think of a thing.
Review 89:My very comfortable room with everything there for ease and comfort. The buffet breakfast with more than enough to select from. Quiet attentive service. Caring and obliging staff at the front desk.
Review 90:The room is small, window is small, bathroom is small, everything is small. I booked a sea view room (more expensive than normal one), but the window is so small and there is another building block the view. So I would not say it's a room with sea view. The breakfast is just so so, but I also do not like the breakfast of all the hotels I ever stayed in Israel or Palestine or other Mideast country, so maybe that's not their problem. There is a little bit loudly during night.
Review 91:Location, only 20 meters from the beach. Staff are nice. The speed of Wi-Fi is ok.
Review 92:Triple room is too small, with insufficient bed.
Review 93:Good location; the beach is across the street. Staff is very helpful; as we arrived too early, they allowed us to enter the room 2 hours before the schedule. There is a coffee break between 5 and 7 pm free of charge. It's very clean and well kept obviously. Interesting "Sun terrace" on nthe roof.
Review 94:Some staff could be more friendly during daytime
Review 95:Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful, hotel is clean, at the beach and near to bus no. 6 which goes directly to the central bus station, tourist information is also close to the hotel (10 minutes walking)
Review 96:Much to expensive for a small room. But then again it was gay pride week and pretty much kinda pricey in tel aviv.
Review 97:We all like the close proximity to pretty much everything. Specially the beach. And the staff always leaving us fresh towels everyday hanging on d door. thou we had the DONT DISTURB SIGN.
Review 98:The breakfast is not the best. But enough choice for one week. I missed meat a little bit. The staff were helpful. They should smile a little bit more. I fully understand that it's tiring, but that is the way to make the guest feel more comfortable.
Review 99:The hotel facilities and the staff were helpful.
Review 100:Very unfriendly receiption staff Dark tiny backroom Beds sliding apart Very inferior bathroom linen Very poor quality breakfast
Review 101:The coffee was good
Review 102:Nothing
Review 103:Room airy and quite roomy Staff very helpful and courteous Breakfast food plentiful and varied. Afternoon tea and cake very welcome and a nice touch Pleasant roof space which was reasonably quiet . Needed shade
Review 104:There wasn't anything I didn't like. Just felt the entire experience was a little pricey for what you got. They definitely need a ground/drip coffee maker besides an Expresso or instant coffee.
Review 105:The single person room is extremely small. The double room is actually a single person room but 40% higher. The staff were congenial and professional. The breakfast was plain and simple with very little variation from day to day. Excellent location from beach with only a 2 minute walk. Main restaurant and some shopping as well as transit, 5 minutes away walking on Ben Yehuda.
Review 106:We stayed at the sea-veiw room (more expensive than other room), but the window to the beach was really small...Also, the room itself was a bit small.
Review 107:Location is great! Just a minute walk to the beach. Staffs are always friendly and helpful. The veiw from the rooftop was also nice. Breakfast was simple but good.
Review 108:some of the staff were brusque and unfriendly.
Review 109:We loved the location and the varied, generous Israeli breakfast as well as the free all day coffee, homemade cookies and cake. The cuppacino was excellent :) Also the comfortable lounge area was nice to sit in. The rooms were small but comfortable and ours had partial sea views as a bonus.
Review 110:free parking, good location
Review 111:The windows went very dirty because of wind and sand, but nobody washed them during our whole stay.
Review 112:Tea and coffee service in the lobby
Review 113:everything was ok.
Review 114:Was perfect! 3 adults in a triple room with 2 bathrooms. Very good location in front of the beach Very welcoming people.
Review 115:Breakfast was not that good. There was some noise in the night.
Review 116:The location is perfect! The staff is really friendly. The rooms are very clean.
Review 117:Room a little small.
Review 118:great breakfast! Rooftop deck nice. good value.
Review 119:Room was too small.
Review 120:Location is very good. They have car parking (with limited numbers of cars 5-6 max)
Review 121:Staff very helpful and accomodating to our needs. Breakfast great; showers super. Cleanliness good Air Conditioning Incredible price for location
Review 122:The noise of cleaning starts from 7am. The reception makes commission at taxi.
Review 123:The location is wonderful close to the beach.
Review 124:Really small room, average breakfast.
Review 125:Good location, hotel in good shape, two bathrooms!
Review 126:pre..authorisation of my card...unable to access my funds as funds held up by hotels pre authorisation
Review 127:Very good staff...
Review 128:Great area! Fantastic roof!
Review 129:The location of the Maxim Hotel is perfect, the staff are very helpful and nice, and it's a great value!
Review 130:Everything is great in this hotel
Review 131:All was excellent and I would recommend the hotel with confidence
Review 132:Great location, comfortable bed and clean room, kind and helpful staff.
