Reviews for Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway
Review 1:No wifi
Review 2:Calm. Children friendly. Very well equipped bbq area. Spacious. We found what we were looking for. The value for money is excellent. The region around is awesome.
Review 3:If I ever came back I would definitely bring a car, as maybe a bit out the way especially with heavy bags.
Review 4:So much to do, so many facilities, the cabins we're so nice and comfortable.
Review 5:had a stale smell in the room which was easy to overcome when you leave the windows open no bath bubbles as promised when i made contact to ask the property direct
Review 6:everything else was perfect Julie was brilliant with providing local information and suggestions for dinner and walks
Review 7:very quiet relaxed atmosphere. great for kids to safely play and run. the resident birds are a treat and the location is ideal. great gas fireplaces and fantastic fire pit for roasting marshmallows
Review 8:Tapware a bit old and plumbing needs some attention - new washers, etc. Induction stovetop but one of the pots not suitable for the range.
Review 9:Lovely peaceful bush location, relaxing and well away from the rest of the world. Animals and birds unafraid and plentiful. Great deep spa bath.
Review 10:Didn't like having to take my own rubbish bag out. It's just a small thing I know, but just didn't think as a guest I would need to do that.
Review 11:Only negative was the early morning light through the blinds but then again our stay wasn't about sleeping in..
Review 12:We loved the location it was central to what we wanted, gave us the experience of living in Manly with all the home comforts also. Owners friendly but respectful of our privacy, welcoming and hospitable. Cottage light and bright with lovely garden to relax in.
Review 13:Not too much. This place is not trying to be olde worlde but rather an old school camp and it pretty much nails it.
Review 14:Completely out of the mould of blue mountains accommodation, this is made for young kids with a games room, tennis court, fire pit, heated swimming pool available for entertainment. The separate rooms in the cabins means mum and dad get sleep too!
Review 15:The shower was very very small. It would put me off a stay longer than 2 nights. Also tricky to bathe small children.
Review 16:Suited our young family. Loved the fire fit and marshmallows!
Review 17:The TV is cheap and buzzes. The hot plate elements don't work properly and having to take out the garbage lest we get a cleaning levy is downright unreasonable.
Review 18:For grandparents travelling with 2 young teenagers, it was great. Kitchen facilities good for minimising food costs of constant eating! Gas fire perfect ambient touch plus efficient warmth. Excellent TV & DVD important for late afternoon snooze after freezing big day out.
Review 19:Can be a little noisy from adjoining rooms. Shower is awkward due to poorly placed taps and difficult to keep hot water running (keeps going cold).
Review 20:Quiet location, close to nice walking tracks. Spacious lounge area.
Review 21:Carpet wasn't very clean, also the power point on the wall near the lounge doesn't work at all, extension cord was half hanging out, the light bulb in the room with the two single beds didn't work at all. Shower fan is heavily coated in dust. Also annoying having no oven. The people in the cabin next door had half a dozen children and they were playing in our front garden and kept touching our car, we spoke to the parents who didn't care.
Review 22:Linden cabin - the gas heater, wonderful and even better with no smoke smell and not having to worry if the fire goes out. We loved how close the bush and more important how close to Walls Cave walking trial is. Rooms are comfortable and quiet.
Review 23:Slightly run down facilities such as leaky taps, not coffee plunger, pool table cues had no felt.... Nothing major, just a few small things.
Review 24:Lovely grounds.
Review 25:Cosy comfortable and roomy cottage on a very large yard surrounded by bush along with the sound of the lyrebird. Great pool and access to tennis, and other games
Review 26:Pool wasnt heated like it claimed. the tennis balls were dead and the table tennis net only had 1 stand so couldn't play it.
Review 27:Good facilities, good base for blue mountains and the cottage was well equipped and comfortable for all 4 of us. We will return
Review 28:The only way to access wifi was to sit outside reception, where there was almost no shelter from the cold, rain and mosquitoes. Wifi in the rooms would be a major improvement. The laundry was fine, albeit a bit of a trek back and forth from the accomms. The phone is not answered after 1700hr, which is a bit frustrating if you have an inquiry, are arriving late, or need to cancel/change a booking. A little more warmth & friendliness wouldn't go astray.
Review 29:The 2-bedroom unit we stayed in was fine, with all necessaries, apart from an oven. Even had a fireplace with plenty of wood supplied. We ended up buying a small portable Turbo oven for use here and in our further travels. The location is great, very peaceful and close to Evans Lookout, a beautiful early morning or evening walk. You do need a car, tho
Review 30:We looked forward to the gas"Log Fire", which was basically a gas heater with glow. The bathroom was very cold, the Shower Cubicle small, and shower curtains are very passé. It reminded me a little of old motels.
Review 31:It is in a great location, beautiful grounds, great for families with kids. Living area and kitchen very spacious. Everything was very clean, beds comfortable.
Review 32:Location perfect for exploring blue mountains. Really great on it's own terms...perfect for families: enclosed gardens with heated pool, tennis court and games room. Very good value.
Review 33:The bbq did not work, or I could not get it to work. Games room just storage for balls. Nothing works.
Review 34:Comfort of cottage. Great heater.
Review 35:Loved the location for bush walking. Loved the fact that there was a heated pool and a fire place.
Review 36:Possums hideaway cabins were exactly as I'd imagined for a romantic getaway
Review 37:tennis court needed to be overhauled as was a little dangerous
Review 38:Fireplace was great, and marshmellows in room was nice feature
Review 39:Location was super quiet and peaceful, but still so close to everything
Review 40:The seclusion of it all.
Review 41:It would of been nice to have a bbq at the cabin.
Review 42:I loved our stay here I would go again tomorrow..
Review 43:A vast range of sporting facilities to keep the boys entertained
Review 44:Comfortable beds and little personal touch such as the marshmallows and candles. Fire pit is excellent. Great place..wonderful friendly staff...
Review 45:The little touches. We were late arrivals so outside light on and heater on inside. Marshmallows for the fire pit.
Review 46:Fantastic location, and very comfortable. The heating and cooking facilities were great.
Review 47:out dated in regards to atmosphere requires heaters when fire place dies out when sleeping.
Review 48:Fire Place
Review 49:your pillows need replacing & your heater when on 2 is very loud & it keeps everyone awake
Review 50:the house was very clean
Review 51:Great set up for us with 3 small kids. Loved the open fire and grounds to play.
Review 52:Great setting, peaceful and relaxing everything you need for a holiday would highly recommend. The staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 53:Very clean and comfortable Spacious cabin .... Great for families.
Review 54:No oven in the rooms Fire/Heater was very tricky to work
Review 55:Space outside and activites eg: tennis, firepit, pool table
Review 56:Nice cosy place, with lots of things to keep the kids amused when your not out sightseeing
Review 57:It was all good! The pool could have been a little warmer.
Review 58:Tranquil location and lovely staff
Review 59:The facilities perfect indoor heated pool, games for the kids, really cost comfortable lodge warm and snug
Review 60:Beautiful and peaceful place. Very clean and comfortable. Great amenities. Perfect for families. Would go back again.
Review 61:Lodges need modernising - shower was too small
Review 62:Facilities great for children and free use of all equipment
Review 63:no oven,
Review 64:location, comfortable beds, tennis court, friendly staff
Review 65:Booked 7 Cabins for a staff retreat, great value for money, BBQ area great for group cooking and cabins very roomy for group gathering.
Review 66:Overwhelming brick walls poor lighting no electric blanket Nasty note saying that if we didn't clean up and put the garbage out, we would be charged $35
Review 67:Lovely grounds Nice main bedroom
Review 68:Only criticism is that the bathroom could be updated
Review 69:Facilities were excellent - wonderful to swim in indoor heated pool when it was chilly outside. Kids loved tennis court too and games room and if we stayed longer we would have used the lovely outdoor fire
Review 70:1950s era resort. No upgrades. Staff were helpful, but staffing was only for limited hours. Really, nothing wrong with it if you want 1950s era resort, slightly run down.
Review 71:Roomy. Location in Blue Mountains. Nice little swimming pool. Free washing machine, and line dry. Price was reasonable, and we were able to book at short notice.
Review 72:Some minor maintenance problems, e.g. sliding doors
Review 73:Very quiet location. Spa bath. Possum Hideaways offer delightfully different accommodation, complete with resident possum.
Review 74:what a wonderful hide away no traffic no noise peace and quite everything a traveller wants BBQ Washing facilities pool and wide open spaces stayed in possum 1 and did not want to go the staff are welcoming and friendly the fire pit a good way to meet other visitors take the marshmallows and have a good night
Review 75:there was no bench or chairs to sit outside although the other cabins seemed to have something. it was a bit noisy at night with people in the BBQ area but we may have picked a bad weekend and its probably not the norm.
Review 76:Easy to find, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cabin was comfortable and everything was clean.
Review 77:Loved the log fire! Close to the lookout over blue mountains.
Review 78:felt like home great all the needs of home
Review 79:Staff okay but need to more user-friendly at reception interface
Review 80:It is a unique environment with lots happening locally Wonderful setting above all
Review 81:A few minor things only
Review 82:Privacy and no maintenance During our stay
Review 83:Really easy going friendly staff, Lots of facilities to use, big cabins, very relaxing!
Review 84:Lovely, peaceful place, within easy reach of all the sights. Great value for money.
Review 85:It didn't look like any of the photos posted on their site. The staff were rude.
Review 86:The blue mountains
Review 87:Shabby without the 'chic'.
Review 88:Peaceful. The coffee and tea supplies plentiful. Late check-in was no fuss. Information about local sights helpful.
