Reviews for Residence Beach Hotel
Review 1:Hotel was a bit dated in some aspects. Limited choice of fruit for breakfast and v slow toaster.
Review 2:Location directly overlooking the beach and close to town centre. Beds were electronically adjustable and excellent quality. Breakfast quite good/substantial.
Review 3:No late checkout available on Sabbath. Must leave room by noon on Saturday.
Review 4:Really close to beach. Great views of beach from room. Also convenient to center of town.
Review 5:the management of staff for breakfast in second building (reception was in first building)
Review 6:reception, large room&kitchen, very original air condition
Review 7:The main hotel desk was in the building next door so it was a slight pain when I needed to speak to the front desk.
Review 8:I stayed in a studio flat. The facilities were great and fitted what I needed precisely. The location is excellent. 2 minutes from the main square and right by the lift for the beach. Staff could not be more helpful - special thanks to Mimmi who looked after us at breakfast most mornings.
Review 9:Odd reception layout with no one in the second building. Dust devils in the stairwell
Review 10:Excellent location, nice room, no problems
Review 11:close to sea and cafe
Review 12:Seeing things lying around for days before they are cleaned up. The rooms & bathrooms need refurbishing.
Review 13:The location is perfect for us
Review 14:Friendly staff, comfortable beds, excellent location
Review 15:folks are responsive and very helpful
Review 16:The restaurant in the hotel is very good and their staff was excellent. The surroundings were very nice and had a great view of the sea.
Review 17:I have been going to many hotels in Netanya over past 20 years. In all cases when I asked to see the labels on any food products (for kashruth purposes) I was either invited into the kitchen or the kitchen staff or mashgia'ach brought the product out to me (to see with my own eyes, which what many religious people request to do). In the 2 Residence hotels, I was refused. I never plan on going to these 2 Residence hotels again. I will also report this to my friends (unless I hear that a change will be taking place in this regard).
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:Excellent location. The staff was friendly and helpful. We preferred the buffet breakfast- better range of food than the limited allowance at the Davina restaurant. Wi-fi worked well and we were able to use it in the bedroom- unlike in the 5 star hotel we stayed in last year in Tel Aviv. The room was clean and bright and it was nice having a little balcony. We had a few minor complaints when we arrived (one light didn't work, the door to the balcony didn't lock etc) and everything was fixed the same day.
Review 20:The WiFi is poor by
Review 21:We feel so welcome whenever we stay. The staff treat us as if we are part of their family, especially duke. We love to come and feel so at home .. see you soon , we hope
Review 22:The hotel is under construction and therefore a big mess. Furthermore our room was not clean (e.g. the bathroom was quite dirty, the elevators are dirty). The beach in front of the hotel is completely public, so the hotel does not have chairs or something on the beach to use.
Review 23:The location was great
Review 24:Buffet breakfast at sister Hotel Residence on Saturday.
Review 25:Studio with balcony and sea view was pleasant, clean and bright, nice bathroom, good kitchenette. Nice staff and breakfast at Davina.
Review 26:The bed was actually assembled from two single beds those could slide from each other at the night. Bathroom can use some renovation.
Review 27:The location is great. On-site parking. WiFi is actually good in contrast to usual hotel quality level. Nearby restaurants.
Review 28:Bathroom cupboards chipped. Room dingier than the one we stayed in the last time so was a little disappointed.
Review 29:The location. The view!!! Also,we had some special dietary requirements and the staff were as helpful as they could be accommodating us.
Review 30:The wifi did not work as well as I would have liked. There wereunsecured networks accessible (from where, I am not really sure), butthe secured hotel network did not work in our room. I did not noticethis really until the end of our stay, so I did not ask the staff.Perhaps they might have been able to help. The hotel clearly saw itsheyday in the 70s, but the rooms are clean, air conditioned, and havebeen refurbished it seems. Avoid the Cafe del Mar (not part of the hotelbut next to it); service there was awful both times we went.
Review 31:We were staying near my father-in-law, so this was convenient. The hotelis right on the beach and near the city center with plenty ofrestaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly and helped us withparking as we had taken a rental car. They also switched us from the 6thfloor because of my slight fear of heights (the high balconies are notfor those like me). The view was great, however, even from the secondfloor. All in all, for the price, it worked out just fine. Breakfast atthe Davina restaurant was excellent (better than the buffet in thesister hotel next door). Nice restaurant just a few hundred meters upthe street toward the center square named Miriam's Grille--highlyrecommended. The whole beach area is clearly geared toward French andRussian speakers, although most staff also spoke at least some English.
Review 32:Netanya is not a 'destination' town and there must be better beach communities along the extensive coast. We were there only as a convenient location to attend a wedding further up the coast at Caesarea. In the hotel, and in other restaurants, a set menu is also available but has to be requested and is called the 'business' menu!
Review 33:Really excellent beach/seaside location with child friendly safe swimming a 5 minute walk away. Comfortable, fairly plain room with very good bed. Twon centre 5 mins walk away with restuarants, shops and an extensive and very good food market up the street.
Review 34:I was made to feel very uncomfortable by certain reception staff that were very abrupt . We arrived at the hotel at 5.45pm/6pm hoping to check in quickly and go to evening prayers and eat with close family friends from England who were waiting for us in a nearby synagogue. The check-in process turned out to be very stressful. Although I gave my passport, they had my credit card number and I gave 200NIS cash deposit (and agreed to give 400NIS cash) they would not let me wait until shabbat was out to pay. They had told me via the phone and when I arrived that I could pay on Motsei Shabbat when leaving. They changed this and the reception staff insisted on following me to the room to show them my credit card and pay the whole amount by credit card before staying. I knew I had my credit card with me in the room but I explained that them 'standing over me' in the room when trying to get ready for shabbat and to meet our family was making me nervous and that I wouldn't find it this way. My children needed me, my husband was anxious to get to prayers and not break shabbat. In the end, I paid 800NIS in cash before staying and only 2 of us (myself and my youngest daughter) when down for breakfast. She didn't eat anything as she started not to feel so well. The breakfast staff were okay. The room itself was quite nice, but it was noisy as it was right on the road and some continual noise like machinery from the ceiling disturbed a good night's sleep. The sheets given for 2 of the beds were marked with grey stains and there were not enough towels. We were not given any information about breakfast times or place or where the sister hotel was. They were most interested about getting their money before we even got any service! There was also a problem with water leakage around the shower/bath area. The shower itself was powerful and warm thankfully. We had to pay an extra 169NIS for my girls to sleep together on a sofa.
Review 35:The decor in the room was nice - the light airy white walls and mirrored cupboards. I liked the microwave, fridge, kettle, cups and cutlery and the fact that there were slippers and hangers in the wardrobe. The room had a nice sea view on one side at least.
Review 36:I would say that the bathroom would need reconstruction for money wepaid I would expect more clean and not so used. Also we found two bigcockroaches in the room but more surprised for me was the reactions ofthe staff, I conclude that such "animals" are not so unusual there.
Review 37:The beach and city center is close ...nice view to sea. Roomequipment was good.
Review 38:Staff and guests are predominantly French-speaking, English is hardly understood..
Review 39:Excellent location - as advertised. Perfect access to the beach and just a few minutes walk to the town center.
Review 40:Hotel has excellent position just by elevator to beach. Suites contain all necessary to cook. Some studios have been refurbished to high standard and also contain cooking facilities. Choice of restaurants for breakfast and excellent Davida restaurant overlooking the promenade. Wi Fi facilities throughout the hotel. Residence Beach has no lounge facilities but guests can use the facilities in the Residence Hotel adjoining.
Review 41:Typical all inclusive typ of hotel with an awfull entrance and poor breakfast. Unbelievable that such a nice looking hotel can degrade to the actual situation.
