Reviews for Legacy Hotel

Review 1:The upstairs restaurant was a disappointment. I walked out and went to the downstairs bar after waiting 20 minutes for service to reach my table. The staff were around me but somehow chose not to serve me.

Review 2:The location is very good especially in this time of protest. The downstairs bar and staff was good and made me feel very welcomed.

Review 3:Sometime some waiter is slow and unavailable

Review 4:The position is excelent prices reasonable for the facilities you get.Run by arabs you do not have problems on shabbat and they also have alltypes of alcool very nice restaurant and breakfast

Review 5:The staff were friendly and professional, the location good, and the room clean and comfortable. At such a reasonable price, what more can one ask for? We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights, and the food was tasty, authentic, fresh - and inexpensive. Recommended!

Review 6:Service could be better and more friendly (in all functions)

Review 7:Walking to the Old City as well as Yaffo Road area. Simple but clean and comfortable interior. Lovely terraces. Free, locked parking. Good breakfast. OK restaurant.

Review 8:The mattress was unconfortable and damaged. The location is actually 7 minutes from Damasco Gate which especially during the night it is not recommended for a woman.

Review 9:The room was huge and clean. Good view and strong wifi.

Review 10:The day we arrived, we met some dust on our room floor. The Free WiFinever worked until we left. The ac was blowing hot and cold at thesame time.

Review 11:The location was perfect. The breakfast was EXCELLENT.

Review 12:Service from the staff during breakfast needs improvement! Their attention is terrible!

Review 13:We will say "Thank you" to Ms. Rana - Her behavior is what we expect when you speak about professional, friendly, helpful staff! We got a very nice room, the location for trips in the "Old City" is top!

Review 14:Absolutely no parking for car and very difficult to access with a car. Not the fault of hotel...part of old town layout. We ended up having to take our car rental back to airport and return in a taxi

Review 15:Convenient location, unpretentious

Review 16:Cleanliness, the hotel need a total renovation ( dirty carpet, damaged furniture e.g)

Review 17:Very close to the old city (5 min from Damascus gate), free parking, breakfast with a lot of choice, we got a room with balcony, friendly reception staff

Review 18:The carpets can use some steaming- but truly I had no complaints!

Review 19:The hotel location is excellent, and the staff were super friendly and helpful around the clock! The restaurants at the hotel were great as well!

Review 20:The staff in the restaurant were not very friendly. Didn't seem to want to be there, especially at breakfast. Also, on the first night we accidentally broke a glass - we cleaned it up and the cleaning person removed the broken glass, but it was never replaced even though we were there for 4 nights. Thought that was a little strange. Finally the WiFi was sporadic and at times impossible to connect to - other times it did work.

Review 21:The location, and the large deck that came with the room was excellent! The staff at the front desk were very helpful.

Review 22:The hotel is very old and careless. The carpet from the corridors were so ild and with bumps. The cleaning standards are very low. The bathroom's sink and bathtub dirty and with mold. The floor at the restaurant was sticky and dirty. Service was careless and took ages to get a coffee. The pool and gym had a very restricted open hours, from 7 to 9 am and from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Review 23:The location is very good. Only 7 min from Damascus Gate and 3 min away from the tram. Although there is no restaurants or anything to do around. And Shereen from reception. Very friendly and spoke very good english. And she gave us a couple of towels to take to the Dead Sea tour.

Review 24:Staff were not so helpful with regard to sigh seeing tips.

Review 25:A large modern room with good balcony. Excellent location for walking to the old city. Secure car parking. Very good restaurant with views over the city. Reasonably priced.

Review 26:-The Wifi was very slow or not working at all. -Although the old city is near, I did not particularly like the neighborhood of the hotel -Staff in reception was friendly, but overall the staff could really get a course in attentiveness (especially the guys that are responsible for the parking lot).

Review 27:-Spacious and clean rooms with very comfortable beds -Free parking -Nice shisha garden outside -Within walking distance of the old city.

Review 28:Very secure place nearby the Old City, the Legacy is probably one of the best places to stay for visiting Jerusalem, between Palestinian and Jewish neighborhoods.

Review 29:Loved the location as it is walking distance to Damascus Gate, with some shops on the way if you need to buy water or fruits etc. Staff were very helpful. Nadine at reception was always helpful and so was Sameer & the other young gentleman. They arranged our day trip to Dead Sea & Massada, arranged for taxi to go to Bethlehem, got bus schedules etc., Our room was big and overlooked the front of the hotel. Nice large veranda to get the morning sun. Bed was comfy and room was clean. Appreciated the welcome fruit basket. Wifi was good. Breakfast had a good selection and liked the convenience of the restaurants on premises, especially when we got back from a long day of sightseeing. The girl who cleaned our room did a good job. Nothing that we did not dislike. Overall, a nice clean hotel with good service.

Review 30:The cooked breakfast was not always very hot and it would have been better if we could have helped ourselves to coffee and hot milk

Review 31:Excellent bathroom and shower, and pleasant outside cafe with friendly staff

Review 32:Need to have longer shower curtains length wise, so that the water doesn't spray out onto the floors. I would highly recommend too steam mops and vacuums for the maids to make their jobs easier. Steam mops disinfects floors quickly.

Review 33:I liked the fact that this place was restored. It is very nice. I truly liked the Staff and their Management. Everyone was so pleasant and so very nice. T Y ey were very attentive to your needs. We look forward to staying there again in the near future when we are back in Jerusalem. This is also a hotel that is near the Old City and also near, "The Light Rail."

Review 34:Though the hotel was immaculately clean, the parking lot across the street for guests and management was full of trash along the fences, a typical situation in Israel. The manager promised to get it cleaned, hopefully on a regular basis.

Review 35:High standards. Restaurant and most of reception staff were oriented to serving. Manager wanted feedback and promised to look into matters needing improvement. Free use of computer with Internet access and printer. On arrival there was a plate of fruit to welcome us. I was given a washcloth with Legacy logo when I asked for it.

Review 36:WIFI was slow During dinner in patio area patrons were allowed to smoke inside.

Review 37:Bedrooms were very comfortable. Dinners purchased very good upstairs & in patio area. Very good customer service.

Review 38:absolutely nothing. It was great :)

Review 39:I was staying at a hotel in the Jewish part for 2 nights earlier, and had to cancel my stay and move out as staff, food, and room were not up to expectation. Legacy hotel was much cleaner, much bigger rooms, much more accommodating, friendlier staff, way better food, and much much cheaper!

Review 40:In comparison with that of I wrote of the previous year, diner menue a little bit simpified. Breakfast and all the rest facilities are at the same excelent level.

Review 41:The bathtub was leaking and flooded the bathroom a little. But nothing major. We missed a hair dryer.

Review 42:Hotel has been renovated and it's looking nice! Location: this is a good location since you can walk to the old town. You can reach the temple or the walls in 15 min walking. But this is the Arab part of town, so not the most upscale neighborhood. Rooms: not big, but good size. Have a fridge, balcony, nice bed and that's it. WiFi: free and very good speed. Great! Staff: this was the best of this hotel. Everyone very very helpful. My special thanks to Sami. Breakfast: very good. Restaurant also serves very good dinner!

Review 43:We didn't like so much the neighborhood. This part of Jerusalem is east Jerusalem which is much different than west.

Review 44:Garden Tomb is just 3 min walking and the Old city (Damascus gate) is 5 min walking, also a city train station is above hotel.

Review 45:Service, however, was very bad. The waiters in the restaurant are more interested in chatting to each other than serving your coffee and the one at the counter was just plain rude, to say the least. Also, don't count on reception staff (kind, but incompetent) if you need any help to rent a car, find directions or schedules, etc, just count on your android or go to the agencies by yourself and save time.

Review 46:Legacy Hotel is a few minutes away from Damascus Gate and there's also a tram stop nearby, so it's extremely convenient. The room was tiny and in need of renovation but fine if you're just there to sleep - and the big terrace was lovely. Breakfast was good and with a lot of choice (though it's a pity they give you those canned fruits instead of the real stuff - so easy to find in Israel).

Review 47:friendly and attentive staff, clean and spacious room, good size balcony with table and 2 chairs, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, but most of all EXCELLENT food in the restaurant upstairs at reasonable prices (we had our Christmas dinner there). Quiet location and short walk to the Damascus gate.

Review 48:Wasn't clear that this was in the Moslem section and not that nice an area. We didn't want to go out at night. Must use locked car parking lot across the street...not convenient. Couldn't find hotel address using GPS

Review 49:Comfortable rooms. Accommodating staff. Nice restaurant. Walking distance to Old Jerusalem.

Review 50:With the exception of reception and the dining room, staff could benefit from a bit more training in customer service and a slightly more pro-active approach. Breakfast coffee came when you asked for it but wasn't immediately offered, which was a shame as the food was superb. Had to ask three times for a G&T in the sports bar. Still these were the only glitches in an otherwise excellent stay and I would recommend this hotel.

Review 51:I was very impressed by this Palestinian -owned hotel just on the border of East Jerusalem and eight minutes walk from Damascus Gate. Extremely good food, brilliant location and excellent value for money. Do not fail to visit the Garden Tomb which is en route to the Old City - infinitely more impressive and believable than the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Review 52:Our room faced a busy road and the air conditioning plant which both made it for a very noisy stay. Closing the windows made it possible to have some sleep. Ongoing maintenance is a bit too obvious for my taste. It is aesthetically unpleasing.

Review 53:The staff of this hotel was able to anticipate our needs. This is something that rarely happens. They were always cordial and helpful. The restaurant on the fifth floor is a rare jewel that offers a great choice from menu of Palestinian cuisine. The location is perfect for individual exploration of the Old City.

Review 54:Jerusalem is not an easy place to drive around and we had great difficulty finding the hotel. After much driving around in circles we found the hotel but couldn't find the entrance. It was only by luck that we drove into a car park to ask how to get in and were told we had arrived. We had to then go through an unmarked door and into the building, through a corridor and again by luck found another door into the lobby. Our room was clean but very small and the bathroom looked tired and needed an upgrade though it was clean. The room had been substantially discounted though it wasn't worth the money.

Review 55:We found the reception staff friendly and helpful even though her English was not perfect. Our room which had been discounted substantially was small and clean. The restaurant was very good with a good choice. When our food arrived it was piping hot and the quantity was in all honesty far too much . The hotel is very close to the old city and we only took about 15 mins to get to the Jaffa Gate.

Review 56:The french/moldy cheeses in the restaurant are stored without a cover, hence the whole restaurant smells of them during breakfast. Most people might not feel it, but to me it was a terrible appetite-killer during breakfast. The restaurant staff all looked surly at breakfast. It could have been the difficult Palestino-Israeli situation though. Plus the month of Ramadan must have been hard for the restaurant staff.

Review 57:The hotel offers an extraordinary bang for your buck. Located a 5 minute walk from the Old City, and a 2 minute walk from the tram stop. Very clean, comfortable rooms. Fast Wi-Fi. And the restaurant upstairs is excellent. Breakfast is much more than what you'd normally expect, with a huge variety of different foods - meats, cheeses, fruits, breads of all kinds, cereals, juiced etc etc. Also the wines and the evening menu were very good. In addition, there is an awesome panorama view of Jerusalem from the restaurant balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is a true gem, don't miss it.

Review 58:The lady at the front desk wasn't nice at all, it's as if she was doing us a favor in giving us our room, extremely rude. The location wasn't the best, especially at night, it felt a bit dangerous.

Review 59:Rooms were very clean, restaurant extremely tasty.

Review 60:Firstly the staff: They are there but as they weren't interested in providing any kind of assistance. One has to ask for everything and even then the help is given reluctantly. The only helpful person was Rana from the Reception - she outdid her duties by far. The staff at the breakfast was just opposite - very helpful. We were never told that the password for the WI-FI was operational for 24h only. That was something I figured out myself. Finally bar was supposed to be open until 00:00 but when we returned to the hotel at 22:40 we were told that the place was closed and that nowhere else alcohol was served :(

Review 61:The location is just 0.5 mile from the Damascus Gate; Free car park is provided for guests; breakfast gives multiple options and is really tasty; WI-FI is fast

Review 62:I think it would be a nice touch if the personell in the breakfast hall could at least smile and greet the guests. Maybe ask if the guests would like to have a coffee instead of the guests having to go look them. Hairdryer would have been nice to have in the room.

Review 63:Nice location , walking distance to the Old City, friendly staff. Comfortable and clean. Good restaurant on the roof. Yummy breakfast to satisfy all tastes.

Review 64:everything + swimming pool

Review 65:The staff did much more than their jobs. We had a variety of questions and concerns and they took the time and trouble to help, every time.

Review 66:TV reception was awful

Review 67:Fairly basic specification, but everything that you needed was there

Review 68:Close to Old City, very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, room with balcony, great views

Review 69:Fantastic location, very good facilities and very friendly staff.

Review 70:The bathroom was a bit rundown, the room was quite small for a longer stay.

Review 71:The breakfast was delicious.

Review 72:Very little choice round about if you fancy a change from eating in the hotel.

Review 73:Excellent location for Old City. Good value for money.

Review 74:We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived and treated with respect and professionalism. All staff members were extremely helpful.

Review 75:dripping water in suite

Review 76:location

Review 77:The hotel facilities and staff were wonderful, and the hotel is a short walk to the Damascus Gate.

Review 78:Amazing breakfast. Very friendky and helpful staff.

Review 79:The beds are not very comfortable.

Review 80:The rooms are very clean. Good maintenance. Very helpful staff.

Review 81:House keeping needs to be trained more on room arrangements and cleaning.

Review 82:Receptionist was great and rooms were new and had a nice terrace.

Review 83:The location was great, the staff friendly and the room neat.

Review 84:* staff at breakfast - just terrible, lazy and unfriendly

Review 85:* location * clean rooms and bath * breakfast menu

Review 86:Nothing to mention

Review 87:Breakfast, big terrace with city views, Free parking, 10 minutes walk to Damascus Gate, recently renovated room and bathroom.

Review 88:FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF WARM AND FRIENDLY FEEL TO PLACE

Review 89:I cannot think of one thing I did not like. Ah, the wifi was a bit weak.

Review 90:I liked the location, the staff and the food. All three were perfect.

Review 91:No ramp to entrance for disabled or rolling suitcases in to Reception.dd

Review 92:Very comfortable, good location and great food.

Review 93:All excellent

Review 94:Location and value.

Review 95:Hehpful Staff at the front desk Friendly waiters in the dinig facilities

Review 96:Aside from difficulty finding the place (wrong/confusing address) the hotel was not in the most pleasant part of Jerusalem

Review 97:All ok.

Review 98:Very small r, which is not suggested in web site photos.

Review 99:Staff & food both excellent

Review 100:nice stuff and always helpfull

Review 101:Breakfast was poor, in my room the hair dryer wasn't working

Review 102:Location of the hotel.

Review 103:The high stairs at the hotel enterance with no ADA ramp.

Review 104:Good size room and great breakfast buffet.

Review 105:The location was great, the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was very good.

Review 106:Excellent Food

Review 107:Lazy inattentive staff from reception to restaurant. Interior is quite run down.

Review 108:ZERO

Review 109:The restaurant on the 5th floor amazing, the garden restaurant was amazing! I would stay there over and over again! Just fabulous!

Review 110:The rooms are really small and the bathrooms are dangerously small and slippery with possible accidents waiting to happen on the sharp ledge on the floor of shower stall exit and the drop from floor of bathroom to bedroom. Breakfast was mostly canned fruit and premade eggs from a mix.

Review 111:The location and the staff were great!

Review 112:The internet really does not work, they should not offer internet in the package if does not work; The breakfast is amazing, but the room is also messy as staff dont need to have time to re-organise the tables, even if the room is empty

Review 113:Breakfast is amazing, hotel receives you with some fruits is very confortable

Review 114:Staff tried to be helpful by providing information about Shabbat and shops opening, which were unfortunately inaccurate. We were told that the shops would open around 7pm on Saturdays, but things were only warming up around 9:30pm. Facilities were okay, just the basics. Wifi was temperamental but good once you can get it up and running. The closest entrance to the Old City was the Palestine quarter, which was the less pleasant area. The location of the hotel was okay, but quite far from the main sights / busy streets.

Review 115:The hotel was newly refurbished with spacious rooms. Close to Old City and some shops and trams. Great breakfast, vast choices and good service

Review 116:My wife and I could not use the swimming pool together. Men and women swam at separate times. Walking to Damascus gate was through a very scuzzy area. WiFi had to be reentered with every use. No FOX channel on television.

Review 117:Location was in walking distance to the Damascus gate of old Jerusalem. Restaurant was gourmet! Walking distance to LRT. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.. Room was large and clean.

Review 118:Excellent location nearby the Damascus Gate. Guarded parking is free. Staff is very helpful and competent. Restaurant is offering great choise of food of excellent quality. Great view too. Hotel staff respects commitments.

Review 119:Not many restaurants around if you fancy a dinner out in the evening sowe quite often ended up having dinner in, which was fine as we werepretty exhausted after our long walks Service was a little sloppy attimes; our toiletries were not replenished until we asked for more.Towels and bathrobes were removed on a daily basis and not replacedunless we asked. We were given a double bed even though we requestedtwins but at least we had a great view.

Review 120:The location was incredibly convenient, about 5 mins walk to DamascusGate. Our room was on the 4th floor with a little terrace to enjoy thegreat view over the Mount of Olives. Clean and air conditioned with freewifi access from the room. The food at the restaurant downstairs wasgood and fairly priced considering the area. Great breakfast buffet witha wide choice of freshly cooked food and fresh fruit

Review 121:The WiFi connection is not good. We needed to go down to the reception to have a good connection.

Review 122:Nice and clean room, nice restaurants and the food is excellent. The restaurant outside is very nice. Very helpful employees.
