Reviews for Kings Head Inn
Review 1:Nothing
Review 2:Only a short overnight stay for business, but the room was very comfortable and spacious, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent!
Review 3:Nothing negative to say
Review 4:The hotel had a very welcoming feel from the moment we arrived. All the staff were very friendly and the food (evening dinner and breakfast)was wonderful. The Bed was one of the best I have had the pleasure to sleep in. A great night away.
Review 5:Loved this place it was spotlessly clean and so very tastefully decorated. We had an evening meal and breakfast and both meals were delicious.. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, we will definitely be going back.
Review 6:The approach to the hotel via the back door to the car park is fairly treacherous. It was uneven underfoot and was unlit the first evening.
Review 7:The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The individual cottages were very well maintained, well furnished and comfortable. The shower was good. The evening meal was delicious and good value for money.
Review 8:Only the coffee & toast at breakfast. Cold coffee & toast was barely brown and soft. Sorry but comong fron France the coffee was not nice.
Review 9:The welcome on arriving late and the service
Review 10:We stayed in the Champagne Room it needed a bit of attention in some areas i.e., 3 light bulbs not working, curtain hooks missing, broken chair. It was also quite noisy - lots of road noise and staff hoovering and moving furniture at 7.30 in the morning, so I wouldn't stay in the main pub again.
Review 11:Friendly staff, very welcoming and always happy to help, the food is excellent with a large choice of menu. The room was spacious and clean with good facilities
Review 12:A little shabby and dusty in places, on a busy road but we happened to be in the only road-facing room
Review 13:Ease of booking, relaxed ambience, very friendly staff
Review 14:Booked an evening meal, waited over 45 just for the starter, then they ran out of ice, young girl behind the bar gave no apology then just left our drinks on the bar area as our table was positioned there, my main meal was on the chalk board but I got chips instead of new potatoes, but this was soon sorted out. Breakfast was ok, bacon wasn't great very chewy and the egg was undercooked.
Review 15:Good location, free parking. Friendly hosts. Really pretty pub, nice garden. Cottages well equipped and clean.
Review 16:We had a room on the front and as the weather was warm, had the windows open and there was quite a bit of early morning traffic noise which woke us. Also, on the last evening of our stay there was a small noisy group seated in the garden beneath our window who were there until past midnight. Also, this is only the second hotel I have stayed in that doesn't have wardrobes!
Review 17:Conveniently situated for the purpose of our visit.
Review 18:Our basic double was called the Beach Hut and we loved the decoration and the big mugs for tea and coffee. The room is not large but is fine, with a big and comfortable bed. Good food in the restaurant, and a lovely atmosphere overall. It is a 10 or 15 minute walk into Rye, with a hill on the way back, but we didn't find it a problem.
Review 19:Shower pressure in the White room was awful - fluctuated from scolding hot to cold every 10 seconds, very frustrating.
Review 20:The bed was extremely comfortable
Review 21:Sadly whilst the shower was modern it leaked onto the bathroom floor quite badly. Also there were many cobwebs in the bathroom.
Review 22:Friendly staff, excellent food, good location; only a mile or so outside of Rye.
Review 23:Clear glass on landing outside bedroom gives an unobstructed view into bathroom and shower for those over 6ft tall. Noisy dishwasher near to tables was running throughout breakfast.
Review 24:Staff were pleasant and efficient. Ample car parking.
Review 25:Bed was very creaky and the room had odd nick knacks. The site photos show all sorts of rooms (they each seem to have their own styles) so be careful when you choose
Review 26:Location - it was very close to Rye town centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 27:The bed was very uncomfortable - too soft and very noisy every time you moved. They didn't start serving breakfast until 8am, which I think is too late.
Review 28:The staff were very helpful in providing us with a breakfast tray to take up at night because we were leaving too early for breakfast.
Review 29:Price I ended up paying was more than the booking.com price I booked/
Review 30:Unique stay in individual cottages which had an upmarket US-style Motel feel to them on first sight.
Review 31:Maybe a bit picky to comment on but decor of room showing signs of settlement ie cracks in plaster. Was surprised there was no blind in the bathroom and the windows are single glazed not double glazed
Review 32:Homely feel to hotel very friendly family run. Stayed in cottage 3 overall clean and bed very comfortably. We would stay here again when next in area.
Review 33:our bathroom was a bit cramped, had everything, but a bit more space.
Review 34:The staff, the ambience, and the breakfast. I often rate this on the standard of the sausages, and the Kings Head had excellent ones.
Review 35:TV to small for room. Lot of channels very poor reception only stayed one night so not to much of a problem.
Review 36:Nice and quite, quick ride into Rye. Very clean and new.
Review 37:The room was clean as was the bathroom. The greeting on arrival was lovely and nothing seemed too much for them. Dinner in the evening was lovely and the staff were very accommodating at breakfast.
Review 38:Pity there was not a mirror above the wash basin for shaving. Nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom. Only one easy chair in bedroom. Also hanging clothes space very limited, no hangers for trousers. Bathroom door the catch didn't work properly. Bedroom door lock from landing not adjusted properly. Car Park lighting could be better. The new fence obscured traffic coming up the hill.
Review 39:Well decorated bedroom, comfortable bed, staff very willing and helpful. Lovely food, well presented without being over the top.
Review 40:cant say there was anything wrong , maybe complementry bottles of water , ?
Review 41:Lovely looking bedroom and suite , comfy bed . Service good and nice breakfast and would stay again
Review 42:Unfortunately a few issues in room, but were dealt with very professionally. Traffic noise to be aware of in the front rooms of hotel.
Review 43:All the staff were wonderful, especially Lucy.
Review 44:Nothing at all. I couldn't fault it at all. A real gem.
Review 45:Hotel was so comfortable. Staff were so nice and friendly. Food excellent. Room was one of the block to the rear. Was able to park outside and room was very quiet. Recommended to several friends.
Review 46:Only complaint was that TV too small for the size of the room if you want to watch in bed.
Review 47:Stayed in Champagne room which is large and bright with good walk in shower. Enjoyed the food which is tasty 'pub grub' rather than 'fine dining'.
Review 48:bed creaked and had an old board underneath to hold it together, shower electric and I micrometre turn of the dial froze or scalded you, breakfast was tinned mushrooms dry scrambled eggs etc, door to other part of the room broken and would not lock plus side was we needed no key to get in - told man downstairs and he tried to squeeze the locks together with his hands saying it was fine
Review 49:Bedroom door handles were rather stiff and were difficult to open. The shower in the bathroom was very efficient but a shelf over the washbasin would be a bonus.
Review 50:Very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and eager to please. Food was excellent and varied. Comfortable bedroom.
Review 51:It was great to be able to walk down the stairs and go straight into the restaurant. Didn't have to drive anywhere, everything you wanted was here.
Review 52:I love the hotel the rooms are so nice and the food is so good We came to the Kings Head Inn about 6 months ago for the first time for the week We had a nice relaxing time Which we both needed We only stayed 1 night this time But had lovely meal for my birthday All the people that work at the Inn make you feel welcome Caroline and Kim
Review 53:Can’t say we found any issues with the hotel.
Review 54:The Kings Head Inn is located within walking distance of Rye. We were in one of the Cabin rooms which are located at the rear of the Inn. The rooms are a good size and appear to be recently decorated with a modern bathroom. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was tasty, we had our dinners in the hotel restaurant. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. We would certainly stay here again
Review 55:Rads were turned off mid day and it did get a bit cold for a bit. but it was January
Review 56:Everything was good. no problems at all. town is a 10 min walk down hill which was ok. ps dont eat at mermaid inn in rye town,More pomp then food.
Review 57:It was all great! (Apart from orange squash at breakfast - no orange juice, but that's just being picky!)
Review 58:Everything we needed in the cosy room, excellent location - just a fifteen minute walk into Rye (a little longer back as it is up hill!) the shower was fantastic!
Review 59:Radiator on full in the bathroom (it turned itself off at midnight.
Review 60:All staff were super friendly and very helpful. Very clean and comfortable. Super breakfast and a great lunch. 10 minute walk into Rye.
Review 61:We were quite worried about the noise from the road, but after 11pm it really wasn't very bothersome. The occasional lorry from 6.30am stirred us a bit, but it was OK. We live down a quiet lane in the country so it was more of an issue than if we had lived in a town.
Review 62:We stayed in their best room, the Champagne Room. it was beautifully furnished. Lovely bed and bathroom. Very clean etc
Review 63:The Chalets are spacious, comfortable and have great bathrooms. They also worked particularly well for people travelling with their dog - and we could also eat their excellent food in the bar with our dog under the table.
Review 64:Can't think of anything!
