Review 1：4 stars hotel without free wifi. The beach is only a very thin layer of white sand on concrete.

Review 2：Kind bartenders in the evening with a nice sense of humor, spacious room and lovely balcony.

Review 3：From the time we stepped over the threshold we were made to feel special. Nothing was too much trouble. The receptionist Federika was absolutely superb & always greeted us with a smile. Located right on the lake so getting a lake view room certainly adds to the stay experience. The restaurant was very good also.

Review 4：Wifi was a little difficult to access initially and only allowed one phone or tablet at a time. However there was adequate free time available and you would only need to pay if you needed excessive use.

Review 5：A superb high quality hotel 10 minutes walk to the centre of Baveno. We had a large and comfortable lake view room - worth upgrading as the rooms at the front of the hotel could suffer traffic noise. Good breakfast and excellent dinners on the outside terrace, with very friendly staff

Review 8：Breakfast is something on what they have to work. Poor selections of meals, but they also can prepare omlet, which was good. In this area it is impossible to have a breakfast outside of hotel, even don't try.

Review 10：Very slow and intermittent wi/fi! We booked a double bed and arrived to twin beds and had to ask for them to be changed. Not enough towels the first and third days and no towels at all another day. No evening entertainment, quite boring and no atmosphere at night

Review 12：No official entertainment - instead, the bar was full of drunk Dutch families who had hijacked the piano. Listening to their out-of-tune renditions gave some humour to the evening, but more than one night of that would have driven us crazy!

Review 13：Beautiful hotel with wonderful views of the lake and a lovely private beach. Very polite, helpful staff. Plus, we were given an upgrade to an absolutely luxurious suite, which was a great and welcome surprise. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 14：The upper deck with the pool could use some attention. The WiFi was about the worst I have used in years in hotels, the WiFi should be made completely free and as simple as possible. The bed was a bit on the hard side for my personal taste and offering a softer pillow option would be nice.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner were wonderful although the dinner portions are rather small for a hungry grown man. Prices are way below what one would pay 30 miles north of the swiss border in towns like Ascona, Brissago or Locarno and the service personnel is top notch at this Hotel.

Review 25：Paid WiFi by the minute - really, this is 2015, completely unacceptable. Please scrap the current model. Also just one conveniently placed plug in the room to recharge your devices. On the more traditional side of negatives, the hotel restaurant is very poor value. 5 star prices, 2 star quality, not enough staff for a speedy service. Better food for a fraction of the price is served in nearby restaurants that are themselves just acceptable by Italian standards. The town the hotel is located at is relatively small and doesn't offer much, a car is needed to get to nearby Stresa with excellent restaurants, some shopping and services.

Review 26：Good value for money, 4 star hotel somewhat close to a 5 star experience. Great private beach and a swimming pool, costly but good breakfast by Italian standards, service oriented staff. As long as you have a car, the hotel is well located near Stresa and Lake Maggiore in general. The gym of the hotel is pretty good, but they claim the access is a paid extra. I was able to gain access by just asking the receptionist, but your mileage may vary.

Review 27：To use the wifi one continuously had to answer a questionnaire. This was very annoying. In a hotel of this standard I expected breakfast to be included, it was not. Car parking was also charged separately. Restaurant menu was limited.

Review 32：This hotel is amazing! We walked around many of the popular hotels and Splendid was by far our favourite. The staff are so friendly and attentive, the pool is refreshing and the beach is great! We had a 5th floor mountain/pool view and we didn't hear any noise from the street. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Review 36：It was our ruby wedding anniversary and the hotel kindly upgraded us to the presidential suite. It was fabulous with two balconies and wonderful views over the lakes and mountains. We cannot thank them enough for making our celebration so special.

Review 37：Use of the gym was not included and must be paid for, same with wifi, same with car park, turned what seemed good value into something far more expensive, but worth it nonetheless.

We were also surprised that the balcony was not cleaned before our stay. And extra costs for WIFI are really not acceptable these days.

Review 39：The location was marvellous, right on the bank of Lago Maggiore and amazing views from the room balcony, restaurant and private beach. The hotel was beautiful as well, with a boutique feel to it though it's not a very small hotel. The gym and spa were very nice as well.

Review 40：For the tariff, most of other hotels in this league would include breakfast, access to the spa, but these were additional add ons, which is a little insulting. I would gladly pay an additional E20 per night to have access to all facilities, particularly for the suite room. Wifi was slow, but at least this was free (even though the book in the room said it also was an add on to be paid for.

Review 41：Room furnishings were like a dream, opulent. Outlook to the lake was amazing. Bed was a true king size, which was a nice break from other hotels. The bathroom was incredible! the shower huge, and bathtub huge. I have not seen a shower that compares in any other 5 star hotel I have stayed at.

Review 47：Don't be fooled by the silly name - this is a really good hotel. Built literally 10m from Lake Maggiore the views are breathtaking. The staff are also superb: very helpful and polite. The interior decor is, whilst perhaps a little old fashioned, very smart. There is also free underground car parking. Exceptional value for money.

Review 58：The hotel seemed intent on charging for everything. Breakfast was 16Euros each, not usual in Italy. Charges for the internet, charges to usethe spa or gym. We refused to pay for extras on what was already anexpensive hotel. Needles to say, we ate out at cafes, used our owninternet and avoided the spa. No list of tv channels in the room, spentages searching. Our superior room was right next to busy road and thebalconies were not private, no screens between rooms. I will not bereturning.

Review 60：NO BEACH as they advertise. Its place to dock jetsky or small boat. The "beach" has a concret ramp with metal chains on a side to secure jetsky. They call that "beach". They have pool, fair size. First room we got was like my walk in closet with AC not working. They changed room for us. New room was bigger with slightly better AC but I can not say that rooms are comfortable. They even have fake elevator door #1, its so cheap.We had to cut out stay. We stayed there 1 night. Village is extremely small, nothing to do at night. Food is poor. No free parking, no free breakfast, no free WiFi.

Review 70：The decor - the fact that the room television was surrounded by a gilt frame tells you all you need to know. This was a 2007 version of rococo. Gold everywhere, chandeliers everywhere - cheap vulgarity was the effect, whatever the expense. And you had to pay for the wifi, which is a nonsense these days.

The waiter even interrupted our main course to ask us what we wanted for dessert- I got the impression he needed to be somewhere else! Not great for a five star hotel.
