Located between the mountains and the Borromean Gulf, Hotel Simplon is in its own sub-tropical gardens, close to the center of Baveno. Rooms offer views of the mountains, of Lake Maggiore, or of the garden. Stresa is 1.5 miles away.
During your stay at the Simplon Hotel you can relax by the swimming pool, overlooking the hotel’s beautifully landscaped grounds, or you can use the lakeside beach, just a few feet away.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features large windows overlooking the garden and finely decorated ceilings. Aperitifs and cocktails are served at the bar with terrace.

Review 1：The breakfast is not included and at € 25.00 very expensive and more than we like to eat. Surprised to find a hotel which still charges for WIFI.

Review 6：Overall everything is just great. Wifi is not easy to switch on though it is for free. The room rate was great, but breakfast being good is very expensive. The location is not exactly at the lake front, but very close. The last thing was that we have got the room with twin beds, which was not too convenient for the couple.

Review 7：Most things are amazing in the hotel. Staff is welcoming, friendly, responsive to the needs. They were doing everything to satisfy the customers. The location is good. The area with the garden and the pool is very nice and the views from the rooms are great. The rooms are spacious and luxurious - pleasant to stay. One of us got the upgrade of the room to the full lake view, which was very nice as well.

Review 8：The parking area was really detailed with where to park and getting out wasn't too easy, but that's being picky.

Review 9：The quality of the finish. The staff were excellent, polite and full of knowledge. Also the walkway to the sister hotel is full of great replica paintings and the leads to an indoor swimming pool overlooking the lakes. The hotel was a lot better than I was expecting.

Review 17：The Bar staff were quite indifferent. Gave the impression they didnt want to serve you. On our first afternoon we sat in an EMPTY bar and waited more than 10 minutes for the Female waiter to take our order in the end we went up to her to ask for a menu. This happened the next day with another female bar staff, Considering the prices one would expect a better service. Food was disappointing too.. No Bar staff service in the gardens or pool area. We are on holiday and it would tak an eternity to get a cold drink! We preferred spending our evening at The Grand Dino instead their bar was fun with music and excellent friendly staff compared to the Simplon's Boring Bar, rude staff - no wonder it was always empyt in the evenings. Considering the Dino is related to the Simplon couldn't believe the difference in service

Review 19：I thought the Junior Suite which we had was a not really worth all the extra cost, but the view from the 3rd. floor - stunning. Breakfast was expensive and disappointing - so only had one - but the new local cuisine restaurant located at Hotel Dino, excellent.

Review 20：A fabulous location with stunning views of the lake, and with its incredible access to its sister hotel Dino, all you could wish for in terms of luxury and facilities. The staff were most helpful and friendly. The hotel was also very convenient for all you needed in Baveno which in itself was a very attractive and clean lakeside resort, with some splendid restaurants and easy access to the keys attractions of Lake Maggiore - the Lake Maggiore Express is a must and incredible value for tourists. All in all, thoroughly recommended.

Review 21：Let’s now continue with the less pleasant part. Asking for Internet at the reception desk, we have been told the silliest story ever. There are 2 options to choose: 1. Internet free of charge for 2 hours a day...but, as we arrived only at 7pm we had to wait for 4 more hours before being able to get the connection. First the management wants the guest to fill in a questionaire about his impressions of the hotel, and only after having done this homework the guest will get the login code. 2. You pay an excessif price per hour. When arriving at the restaurant we had been told that they were fully booked and we should have made a reservation; unfortunately nobody informed us about this procedure. A typical Italian Pizzeria just accross the street saved our evening. The atmosphere in the hotel was like in a tomb, silence all over, only some shadows hanging around and waiting for time to pass. The day after we decided having a cup of coffee on the nice terrasse giving sight into the hotel park. The capuccino has been as horrible as the service....so no further comment, but a quick check-out.

Review 22：The check-in has been friendly and welcome....the hotel is very vintage , style Richelieu, but this should remain a matter of personal taste. The receptionist suggested a new modern restaurant for dinner to us at the hotel, a nice tip, we accepted with pleasure. This has been the pleasant part of our stay.

Review 23：Our room was next to a fairly noisy road, which we hadn't been expecting. The new restaurant called 'The Last Hall' was beautifully furnished, but the food didn't match the surroundings and we waited ages for each course.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Great location and a plus that you can use the indoor pool in the sister hotel the Dino but the Simplon is a lot cheaper. Breakfast was nice. Overall a very pleasant stay and we will be back.

Review 47：The hotel is gorgeous and a lovely location for the area. You must have car to see the area. The room was very well appointed but a little small. We had a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake. We did not have the breakfast due to the cost. The pool was absolutely delightful and gorgeous.

Review 55：A more than ususal friendly and helpful staff. We had paid for a room with lake view, which was worth the price, compared to a room overlooking the busy road. Breakfast was nor included, but the breakfast buffet was sufficient and worth the cost. Great parking space.

Review 56：Breakfast at €25,- per guest is ridiculous. Would be €100,- for my family. €17,- at a small bar round the corner. Probably a "trick" to artificially lower the room price. Used by more hotels in the area.
