Reviews for Petinos Hotel

Review 1:None

Review 2:The location of hotel in Platis Yialos beach bus stop next to hotel and very convenient. Loved the hotel restaurants Blue Myth and Thea's very friendly staff and adventurous Greek nights.

Review 3:Restaurants along the beach were a rip. Eat in town at the harbor.

Review 4:Large clean rooms, good breakfast selection. Decent wifi speed. Only steps from the smaller quiet beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will call arc rental to pick you up from hotel.

Review 5:Wifi did not work in the rooms, and only barely if you went to the reception area. Inclusive breakfast was not very good or healthy.

Review 6:Although still expensive, relative to the hotels near by it was good value. Staff were good, room was fine with good balcony and effective Aircon. Good location near the beach. Staff were all very good and friendly.

Review 7:Poor internet reception in the rooms.

Review 8:Good location, close to transport and supermarkets. Good breakfast and good resturant for dinner. Great comfortable beds. Idea location

Review 9:The room i booked was supposed to have an excellent sea or garden view; instead it had a wall view just near the main road and entrance. Very noisy, very small almost impossible to mive in the bathroom, etc... Then we talked to the staff and with some difficulty we manage to upgrade our room to a better one for the second night.(that room was fine) Wifi doesnt work everywhere The first room was smelling mositure

Review 10:Location is very good; free airport and port transfer

Review 11:In general we are very happy with the hotel however the management could work on a few points to improve the hotel experience: Internet connection was only in common areas, it would have been better to have it for free in the room as well. The breakfast buffet was Ok but every day more or less the same..After 1 week we got quite bored with it and went to have breakfast somewhere else even though we had it included in the rate, which is a pity. Also, there is a very limited fresh fruits in the buffet, I can't understand why. You can choose only tea or American coffee, otherwise you need to pay extra (as an Italian, i really need my espresso or cappuccino in the morning.. ). But I enjoyed their crepes with different sauces, and the staff was very attentive.

Review 12:The hotel is conveniently located in front of a beautiful beach, Platys Yalos. In front of the door of the hotel, there is a bus station going to the town every 30 minutes. This made our stay with our baby very comfortable. The hotel lobby is beautifully designed and the room we stayed (a superior) was spacious, comfortable, had anything we needed and was facing the internal garden, it was really nice. The restaurant view in the morning was breathtaking! And the food for lunch / dinner very good. All the staff are very helpful, friendly, professional. The rate is quite good comparing to other hotels in Mykonos for the same category. I strongly advise this hotel for families with kids.

Review 13:Excellent staff in the restaurant. One difficult receptionist but wouldn't hold that against this beautiful hotel. There was tea making facilities but no tea, coffee or milk and no tissues in the room. Hope this comment is helpful to the hotel.

Review 14:Breakfast could start from 7 instead 8am as we were in rich in order to get early flight. Pool could be cleaner.

Review 15:The location of the hotel, friendly staff, comfort of room and breakfast

Review 16:Bath tub Hallway smell ( room sides) 107,102

Review 17:We arrived 16th August for 4 nights with 8 people. We had an amazing time in Mykonos. The hotel location was excellent and overall everything was good except the bathroom .the pictures were on the website were not the once we got when we went to the hotel. The bath tub was very small . Also the bedroom hallways had this smell we couldn't figure out from where it's coming from . If you can improve all I think the petinos hotel is amazing .

Review 18:being sold a duff! We paid the advance option for a lower price but when we arrived we were lead up the road, down some steep dodgy steps to the barn next to the donkey. It stunk was older than me and was dark and dingy! Not the dream in the pictures. Spend your money elsewhere this is the worst place in Mykonos! Oh and the staff couldn't give a monkeys either!

Review 19:This place is aweful! Spend your money elsewhere, the pictures are deceptive. The hotel has not been modernised as advertised. There are no sea view rooms. The nearest beach is packed like sardines and the pool next door was like human soup. This is the best part.

Review 20:the basic troops need renovation to look a little more like the premium rooms even if they are smaller, they currently look like they belong to another hotel and the corridor smells of bathrooms breakfast very very poor

Review 21:The premium rooms are very charming and i loved the garden

Review 22:We did not have a sea facing room and there was a particularly rancid smell outside which made the room stink if you left the doors open. Air conditioner was weak. Breakfast was standard buffet, not great but not bad. Room is fairly small for the price you pay.

Review 23:The location was great, however, the restaurant options are fairly expensive and one in particular was extortionate (Atlantida Restaurant). The staff were here very helpful and room was always cleaned.

Review 24:We stayed in the apartments but we were not told from the beginning that the apartments were located outside the premises, so we had to walk about 500m and then down a small hill and stairs. A bit complicated but nothing extremely bad. No garden view as shown on site, just some empty land and a couple of trees.

Review 25:It was a good stay overall

Review 26:Not a 4star hotel! No free wi-fi and wifi signal very poor. Room is old and bathroom tiles and shower door broken. Breakfast is average! Service horrible staff seem so unhappy to help you and make minimal effort!

Review 27:Location next to popular Psarou Beach

Review 28:On arrival & much to our surprise we were told we'd booked an apartment in Mykonos Town and not the area where this hotel is. The website is very misleading - another group we spoke to had exactly the same problem. We were then offered a self catering apartment 10 minutes from the hotel! Complained & given an 'upgrade' to family suite in hotel which was basically a room with 2 dbl beds next to reception & next to busy road so rather noisy and not at all suitable for a family (nor the 2 bed apartment we'd booked and paid 360 euros a night for!). Left for over an hour while room made ready with no hotel info from staff - not even offered a glass of water despite the heat & being with 2 kids! Turns out you can use the pool at the sister hotel opposite but had to work this out for ourselves. Also found out we should have been given a 10% discount card to use at various restaurants nearby - we were not given this. This was the last few nights of an otherwise fantastic break on various Greek islands so very disappointing. They probably have some nice rooms but from our experience, looked nothing like the website! Would not recommend.

Review 29:The location of the hotel is good.

Review 30:No ocean views even though we were right there. Lovely gardens though.

Review 31:We met lovely accommodating staff. Lobby beautiful. Great location next to beach. Right at bus stop into town.

Review 32:The wifi didn't always work.

Review 33:Excellent hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They upgraded our booking from 2 standard double rooms to a family suite (which included free wifi!) to accommodate for the extra person and provided us with an extra bed, all without any extra costs. The location is excellent. It is right next to the family friendly Platis Gialos beach, which is lined with a wide array of restaurants, and the bus stop to Mykonos town is right at the entrance of the hotel. The hotel itself and the rooms are very aesthetically pleasing. Our room had a nice a view of the hotel garden.

Review 34:We were given the wrong room. We changed rooms and the area was very noisy. The noise echoed thru the corridor. Still don't believe it was the room we booked. Suggest email ahead to confirm your reservation and room type.

Review 35:Great location. Easy access to beach, pool, restaurants and the bus at the front of reception to take us into town.

Review 36:No room service , and bed wasn't comfy at all the sheets were wet most of the time when doing the room and the room bathroom was extremely tight and unpractical

Review 37:Wifi was not free. Paid 12 euros for wifi which was horribly. In some parts of my room I couldn't get any and literally one step over I could get full bars. Was also very slow

Review 38:Extremely helpful staff, beautiful rooms and great location.

Review 39:If you like room service then you will be a little gutted as much as they have it, they made mistakes all the time and one stage (when it was still in the hours of room service) they told us to get it ourselves, and when you feel ill and get told that it's just not good. You really need to speak Greek to get the best out of them.

Review 40:The location was so good. The rooms were spacious and clean, there was wifi, you get given an hour for free, I was given 2 hours for free and didn't use it all. Nice large selection at breakfast. Lovely pool - get there early for a bed though.

Review 41:We requested an additional single bed for a adult and got a child's fold out bed ! Was forced to place a single mattress on the floor ! Unclear advertising of hotel

Review 42:Staff helpful Excellent location

Review 43:I got shunted to an apartment a long way from the beach and facilities even though I booked a 'room' (apartment style) on booking.com that appeared to be in the actual beach front hotel. Misleading to say the least. Not happy.

Review 44:Rooms need renovation, smell in the room, wet floors after every room cleaning. Very bad value for the money, will not meet your expectations.

Review 45:Restaurant,Location, however better beaches can be reached by car. No need to stay by the beach since you still need to rent sunbeds.

Review 46:We liked the location and the service very much, especially of Eleni. All drivers were also very helpfull. Accommodation and breakfast were suberb! The restaurant of the hotel (THEA) was great too. Good food and service!!

Review 47:Kids would have liked free wifi but not a big deal.

Review 48:We were extremely happy with this hotel. The staff on the desk, especially Matina, were wonderful. The location is the best in Platis Yalos. Loved it!!

Review 49:we booked for triple room, 3rd bed was a folding bed and was not comfortable.

Review 50:The location was perfect, right on Platys Gialos Beach, Bus Station right at the door step on the Hotel 15-20 mins ride to the town. I would say this is the best beach and best location to stay in Mykonos. The staff was helpful. Pool was clean and nice, but why would one use it if you have a huge beautiful beach right there ;-) .... The facilities were excellent and the service was flawless.

Review 51:The breakfast was horrible. Horrible is actually a very kind word to use. Everything was disgusting from the watery runny eggs to the mini sausages. Seemed like it was canned fruit vs. fresh fruit as well. All I ate was a slice of toast with butter every morning.

Review 52:The resort is very nice. Newly renovated and although this resort may not have been directly on the beach, access to the beach was very easy and close to the resort. The beach is very busy. There are lots of restaurant options on the beach.

Review 53:The staff were very attentive, quickly addressing any concern. The breakfast was great, after which you probably don't need to eat again until dinner.

Review 54:Only allowed 1 hour per person of free WiFi and we had to ask for this. The reception on the WiFi was also poor. We couldnt find a sunlounger in the hotel however we could have used the sister hotels sunloungers and pool . There was a lot of noise from some of the hotels guests early one morning approx 6.15 and it took about 15 minutes before they were actually calmed down. I don't feel that the hotel sorted this out quickly enough. No kettle in the room or tea/coffee making facilities. When i asked about this i was told i could have a kettle but no cups !

Review 55:The beds were very comfortable, the shower was excellent. Rooms very spacious.

Review 56:If u book 2 rooms in deluxe ...just see the hotel room size are different ...some r 2 small... Just one lady at reception...to answer...she is too busy or overloaded...

Review 57:Excellent service , very polite at breakfast place.. Blue myth ..very good view ... Wi fi if asked u get free...they say we are doing u favour...which was very bad..

Review 58:Staffs were rude, we wanted to take a taxi but the staff didnt offer to help to get us one and insist we take their hotel bus. The bus didnt have space and me and my friends had to stand the entire trip on the hotel bus, which was very awful. Accommodation wise, they gave us an accommodation which was right next to a donkey field, imagine how bad it was

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Breakfast is a little bit poor. It is not suitable to families with little children.

Review 61:It is close to the beach. The prices in the supermarket are fair. The staff is nice and helpful. It is clean. The nearby restaurant "Blue Myth" is very good AND THE STAFF THERE IS GREAT.

Review 62:Bathroom was tiny

Review 63:A lovely hotel right by the sea. Rooms were large and restaurant overlooks beach with great breakfast selection. Lovely staff who were very kind and friendly to our toddler.

Review 64:The room was very nice and the staff was accommodating and friendly! the breakfast was tasty! You can use the pool of the sister hotel for free and it is very nice! also the free shuttle was very convenient

Review 65:When we reached we were given a room underground with no windows, on asking for a better room, the staff was extremely rude, didn't even bother listening and gave us an equally bad room which was smaller but at least had a window. Except the room had a spider, uncleand hair lying around, a frog in the bathroom, and insects on the beds. when we tried to complain the staff was out right rude, never ever experienced such bad customer service before. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone

Review 66:Wifi should be made free.

Review 67:The hotel room was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. They helped us with port transfers and all other island details. The location of the hotel is excellent. The breakfast room is on the beach literally. As the local bus stops right outside reaching the town or old port is very easy. The rooms are big and airy. We stayed in a double room which had bath amenities as well as a balcony overlooking the sea. Overall a wonderful experience that we would recommend to anyone visiting Mykonos.

Review 68:The breakfast was not at all good. There was almost no choice for a vegetarian and the quality of the food was poor. No variation, everyday the same. This really gives an impression of a **hotel while everything else was great.

Review 69:The room and hotel are very well designed. The staff were great. Location is superb.

Review 70:but we were never told we would need to travel in everyday plus call the hotel from my mobile everyday which i had no overseas plan so has cost me a small fortune no wifi in the flat either

Review 71:the location of the flat was great but

Review 72:breakfast could have had fresh fruit instead of canned fruit wii fii was very tempermental and is a waste of money if you paid for it

Review 73:location can't be beat, right by the beach comfort and great style great food and staff

Review 74:- No supply of drinking water in the room. - Will not allow to fill a bottle in the restaurant if you want some drinking water for your room. - Kettle is provided in the room with out any supply for Tea/Coffee/Milk/Sugar pouches. Small things but makes your stay uncomfortable if you are in habit of morning Bed Tea Or want to quench you thirst in night. We did feel uncomfortable due to this

Review 75:Pleasant energy in the place and front office & restaurant staff was very good. Always serving with a smile.

Review 76:We stayed at petinos apartments, that was not bad but the room was a bit smelly and wifi was so weak. However, the location was perfect easy to reach two beaches....

Review 77:Be careful when you are having breakfast. The spoon I was using had rough edges and it cut the inner corner of my mouth :( Being in a beautiful place like that, this was the last thing I expected...really disappointing.

Review 78:Our room had a view of the beach and we were a step away from the beach. Beautiful place indeed, inside out!

Review 79:Balcony not very private.

Review 80:Great location right on the beach and only 10 mins on the bus, to Mykonos Town, which stops outside the hotel. The hotels restaurant is its best feature with lovely views of the sea and great service.

Review 81:The kitchen within the apartment was basic. Can imagine the pool and local beach become extremely busy in high season.

Review 82:Staff were ever so helpful and very knowledgeable. The hotel was in a prime location for the beach even though we were slightly up the hill in a kitchenette apartment. The breakfast had a good variety and the scrambled eggs and sausage were divine. The restaurant was also lovely looking out over the bay. The bus stop was located just outside the hotel with buses coming regularly. All in all, a lovely place to stay with restaurants and the beach so close and also easily accessible to get into Mykonos town

Review 83:The information on the website was misleading and incorrect. I thought I'd booked an apartment in the building advertised and photographed on the site but our apartment was 200 metres up a steep road, then down a steep drive, in an old apartment with views over a dust bowl, with wild grasses. It was listed as "with garden views." The room was very basic with a noisy air conditioner. We could not be moved. Do not book an apartment.

Review 84:The location and decor of the main hotel is very good, modern and new. The breakfast at the adjoining restaurant Blue Mystic, was very good.

Review 85:Drain smell in bedroom. Poor quality of breakfast. Poor coffee, watery orange squash instead of juice. Only a little water melon some days,no other fresh fruit. Tinned fruit! Rubbery croissants

Review 86:Bed,pool,beach, public bus service,transfer service.upgrading

Review 87:There was no Coffee/Tea/Suger available in the room. only coffee making machine was given.

Review 88:We liked the cleanliness in the room.. Public bus stop is just outside of the hotel.

Review 89:the pool area should have a bar. same food for breakfast everyday. should have free wi-fi in lobby area. internet access was over priced. the hotel should make a discount deal with the spa place nearby.

Review 90:excellent location. very friendly and professional staff. beautiful beach. free shuttle bus service very good. discount on hotel restraurants.

Review 91:The staff was awesome and friendly, the hotel was very clean. The location was amazing with so many places to eat nearby. Also, the bus that goes down town is right next to the hotel! We will definitely stay here again!

Review 92:See above.

Review 93:Booked and paid for ocean view room . Instead, my room was adjacent to bus stop. Reception informed me that hotel does not have ocean view rooms and despite showing them my reservation confirmation they simply replied " It must be an error " So I paid close to 400 euro per night for aview of the local Bus

Review 94:We had a problem the first day in the toilet. It was smelling bad ! Then people came from the hotel and they repair it.

Review 95:Nice location, service was good, room was fine

Review 96:The staff is really friendly, actually we found whatever we need, breakfast is nice. We stayed in Apart side its a bit far away from the main building.

Review 97:Apartments are back up hill 5 minute steep walk away from beach with lots of stairs and not modern. Request superior room I think instead for better position and renovated.

Review 98:Good beach at Platys Yialos and close to famous Nammos beach too can walk down sea wall really worth a look. Easy bus ride to town.

Review 99:I found the cleaning of the rooms to be inadequate. For a 4 star you would expect a top up of shower gel and at least cotton wool. Our room was outside the bus stop, so extremely noicey. The 4 and 3 star are mixed at he breakfast buffet, not sure if it was a 4 star breakfast.

Review 100:Bookings were mixed up, We need to move rooms, The shower drainage was bloked. At the room we stayed is not worth 200€ per night.

Review 101:Staff service was excellent, big thanks to Vicky and Vaciliki and John!

Review 102:- Location is very good (on a very nice beach which has an inexpensive boat taxi that takes you to popular beaches) - You can use the facilities of its adjoined sister 5 stars hotel - Staff is very good and helpful, and - the bus stops few meters away to take you to the city. All in all, we had a very good stay. We booked it when it was on 75% sale, so the value for the money was superb.

Review 103:The breakfast is not as good as it suppose to be for a 4 sat hotel and the money paid for the room.

Review 104:Clean, comfort, near the beach that has sport activity and boat taxi that can drop you to 4 other beaches near by and organize fish trips and other cruises.

Review 105:We were travelling with a big family, total 14 people. We did not getthe rooms we had booked for. We had booked hotel suits but what we gotupon arrivals were poorly furnished apartment rooms. And the hoteloffered it for the same price! We had booked two-bedroom family suitsfor 4 person, but instead we received single rooms that were equippedwith 1 double bed and 2 truckle beds. When we asked the reception tochange our rooms for what we booked they rejected us, stating thatthey were running with full utilization. Plus there was a rat in oneof the room....

Review 106:The room was too small. The bathroom was tiny and hard to move around in. The seafood in the attached was horribly over cooked and the pool in the sister hotel was way too salty!

Review 107:The breakfast was amazing!

Review 108:Initially we were shocked to find we were booked into their city apartment not realising that the hotel didn't offer two bedrooms. Was not clear from the emails and the advertising. However, the staff made alternative arrangements for us to move to the hotel the following night and couldn't have been more helpful. This was what we signed up for!

Review 109:Proximity to the beach and beach bars Restaurants and staff were excellent Staff at reception and with transfers went out of their way to assist The hotel was clean and well maintained

Review 110:Wifi signal is average No to not disturb signs for cleaners Rooms are auto allocated therefore we were initially placed up the road in the second building (not where we thought we had booked) but the very friendly female staff member did her best and moved us when she was able to the front building we initially thought we had booked for which we are grateful. I think this should be specified when booking which building you are booking your rooms in.

Review 111:Reception is beautiful Rooms in the first Petinos Building are really great with lovely gardens Location is amazing Staff were very friendly and really helpful

Review 112:Make sure you book for a room in the main hotel building. The Apartments are far from the main hotel lobby and building. The TV in the apartment is a small 14inch CRT one with very limited channels and reception was not good.

Review 113:We were there on our honeymoon and from the moment we arrived we were greeted with champagne and excellent customer service. They then upgraded our room to a sea view room with a beautiful balcony. The staff were very friendly and constantly checking to see if we were enjoying our stay.

Review 114:If you are booking an apartment be aware that your room will not be inside the hotel. It's a couple of blocks far from the hotel. Stay away from apartment 14 it's way to bad.

Review 115:Good Staff

Review 116:We booked an apartment of two rooms as we have a 12 year old son. When they arrived we were allocated a whole house in the centre of Old Mykonos. It was very comfortable and they arranged transfers throughout the stay from and to the hotel when we wanted to use the other facilities. The staff made our stay perfect.

Review 117:The breakfast needs a bit of work. It feels like they serving the left-overs of the evening before.

Review 118:The beds were soooo comfortable, we managed to have 12 hours of undisturbed sleep after a day of exhausting travel! The room was massive and cool. The staff were very helpful. Close to the beach with great cocktails.

Review 119:... if they have excellent stuff every problem can be solved with the smile. Fortunately, this hotel has luck to have such employees. On the arrival, I have got an accommodation way below my booking reservation and any standards for a 5star hotel. Thanks to the people mentioned below, I`ve got a proper room, even better than I expected in the high season. Therefore, I would like to give some special thanks to the stuff that works at the reception desk in the main building (especially to Stamatina), for their assistance and generosity in saving my holiday from being a complete disaster :).

Review 120:They charge for Wifi. This in my opinion is the poorest part of the hotel. Its not cheap either. Most people don't seem to use it & instead seem to use the free Wifi from a beach bar (just order a drink or sunbed & ask for the code). After turning my nose up at paying for WIFI, the porter kindly gave us the key to the Petinos Beach sister hotel. It appears that half the hotel had the same key & so congregated over there to check emails or Skype back home. The point is, they're charging standard Hilton room rates, not a budget hotel. The price of corporate WIFI isn't that much these days & so really, for the €50-100 or so they make a day charging customers, they'd do well to write it into the cost of the rooms (which would be nominal with the size of the hotel). There were a few minor problems. The bathroom was ever so slightly dirty when we got there (nothing of concern). I highlighted this to the cleaner & it was sorted out immediately & she asked that everything was ok from thereon in which was nice. It also took us 3 or 4 days to realise that beach towels were available at reception. But, I've stopped in 5 star hotels & there have been worse problems! The island itself is nice, but expensive if you're used to other Greek Islands. You'll easily blow €100 a day for a couple, eating well at lunch & dinner, with the occasional cocktail, beer & a bottle of wine. There are more private jets & helicopters off superyachts at the airport than commercial scheduled flights, so you're not going to find a sleepy taverna where you'll feed the family for a fiver!

Review 121:We stayed at the hotel last week. The staff were in the main friendly & helpful, particularly the cleaners who were always chirpy. The more expensive Petinos Beach has the views, but you are literally over a narrow road from this hotel. You can use all of their facilities (pool, gym, sauna) & 3 minutes after closing your hotel door, you can be paddling in the sea. The resort itself is fun. The nearby beaches are mostly covered by sun beds at €12/day for 2 (although there is a small area to throw down a towel if you don't want to pay for a bed. Its ok for kids, although I did notice that the whole place was livelier on saturday night - particularly as there was a party on nearby Psarou beach which was loud (I believe its an international jetsetter(t)it crowd hangout! But, you can't hear any noise in the rooms & the party atmosphere is by no means Malia/Kavos style booze city. If you're not after a budget holiday & are prepared to pay capital city style prices, then you'll really enjoy it, young or old. There's a buzz about the place, both in the nicely furnished hotel & the locality.

Review 122:the staff is very very rude the hotel manager and the front desk employees are horrible very racist and very rude had an unpleasant experience with this hotel I do not recommend the hotel... poor costumer service! very disappointed!

Review 123:the hotel is in a good location the beach by the hotel is actually not a good beach you need to go to the other side to go to the nice beach

Review 124:Old school run hotel - far too overpriced. All design went into reception and restaurant, the actual rooms are old fashioned and need an upgrade. Only there for one night so ok but the breakfast is terrible. Greek coffee costs extra! Hmm...thought we are in Greece?!? Poor quality of food.

Review 125:Look of reception Use of other hotel pool Driver who picked us up from habour

Review 126:I had a reservation for this hotel that stated that it had a swiming pool. Turn out that the swimming pool was 50 mts down the street at it´s brother hotel... book a double room with sea or garden view and they got me a 5 bed room with view to a wall of a part of the hotel

Review 127:Nice staff, clean hotel, good location

Review 128:- Room configuration was a little weird, the bathroom sink was in my room. - Wifi wasn't easy to connect to although once connected it was fine.

Review 129:- Very Clean - Comfortable - Location was central to Platis Gialos, busport and Psarou beach path - Helpful reception staff - Bedding was high quality - Balconies had nice views

Review 130:Not long enough. Nothing negative to say,

Review 131:Everything was superb from location to service. We loved the beach, cafes, restaurants, fantastic buffet breakfast plus friendly receptionists and the porter the best we have ever had. We are already arranging our next trip back to Petimos hotel in 2015. They made us feel welcomed special & very understanding, we cried when we left.

Review 132:When we arrived, the room we booked was not available. The hotel manager skirted the problem well, and left us in another room, much larger and higher than the reserve category room. Out this setback, everything was perfect.

Review 133:Service, friendliness of staff, hospitality, excellent facilities, cleaning, caring for guests.

The Fine Print
