Reviews for Hotel Tugu Lombok
Review 1:Since they picked you up at the airport you notice that they try to make their customers holidays a great time. The design and the lovely furniture along the resort is stunning making you feel lost in past Indonesian times. Ideal for relaxing holidays. It was our second time at the Hotel and we are planning a third one.
Review 2:Excellent staff and management team. All very friendly without being intrusive. Beautiful and unique grounds in which you can choose to dine anywhere. Very relaxing.
Review 3:Having to leave ;-(
Review 4:Beautiful clean white beach Isolated and private yet done great nearby options Authentic design & extraordinary attention to detail which All leads to great value for money !
Review 5:I didn't like that breakfast was not included in the room price. That was a first! Plus prices are higher than usual more like Europeanprices but given the location is ok!
Review 6:What is there not to like about this place!? It is just gorgeous. Thestaff, the atmosphere, food, beach, romance...... Top, top, top.... Takethe hotel boat to the Gili Islands for the day awesome.
Review 7:Nothing to complain at all - except for the garbage in public space all over on Lombok. It is such a shame as the island would be beautiful!
Review 8:Everything is so relaxed, unpretentious and natural in this place. Staff is extremely friendly and supportive, furniture and decoration prove a distinctive taste. The perfect place to relax after a though Rinjani hike!
Review 9:2.5 hour taxi ride from the airport. The sea is not suitable for swiming in realy unless you like swimming in seaweed.
Review 10:Absolute peace and quite, no music, no entertainment just Absolute peace and quite. The food was a bit hit and miss but this only added to the charm. All the staff deserve credit for the way they look after you.
Review 11:We spent our first night being bit by bed bugs. True we were upgraded to a wonderful bungalow after that but the first night was charged nonetheless, which I find outrageous.
Review 12:The staff was extremely helpful, polite and nice.
Review 13:Some people in the staff are not so friendly Not so many things to do around the hotel (nice to relax, but that's all)
Review 14:Spectacular place Amazing beautiful room (a villa actually) Feels like an open sky museum Beautiful beach Great spa
Review 15:My yoga class! I have been practicing yoga for some time and I was expecting a less touristic approach to what I have experienced at Tugu.
Review 16:Calm place. Amazing beach view. Great food and amazing tea time. Very private place for couples.
Review 17:Tugu caters mainly for (honeymoon) couples who stay for one or two nights. This means there is a short-term focus, e.g. the restaurant menu does not seem to change.
Review 18:Spacious room, beautifully furnished, great open-air bathroom. Nice small garden giving privacy. Very friendly and helpful staff, good massages. Standard of food is very good.
Review 19:Unique design, excellent staff & good location, also near the golf course
Review 20:Quality of the food was not great.
Review 21:Warm stuff makes you feel like home
Review 22:Lovely hotel and grounds
Review 23:Quite Expensive
Review 24:Private beach, calmness, superb villas, traditional design, close from Gili islands; friendly staff
Review 25:beach and snorkeling. Grilled fish and indonesian food, big spaces in the bungalows
Review 26:Nothing to comment
Review 27:Nice spacious room, extra large bed and of course - great beach!
Review 28:Restaurant service could be slow.
Review 29:Excellent location, superb facilities.
Review 30:Not much really.
Review 31:Tea cakes and everything else
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Everything...the staff were amazing, and the hotel stunning
Review 34:Beach, decoration, facilities, pool, restaurant
Review 35:Not a lot was included on the price everything was an extra cost
Review 36:You're a bit isolated, other than doing daytrips to Gili, which means you're always eating at the hotel, and things are very quiet in the evenings. As long as that's what you want then no problem at all. Food was quite good - lots of choice, some things excellent (dumplings, nasi goreng, steak), but some things not so great. Food and drinks were expensive, which adds up on top of the room price when you're eating all your meals there. All in all it was very good though.
Review 37:The beach is fantastic and totally uncrowded, the hotel is really beautiful both in design and decoration, the swimming pool is perfect, staff were excellent, we had the best massages of our trip at the hotel's spa.
Review 38:It's like finding a piece of paradise and a becoming part of a family on Lombok. The staff was really friendly, polite and paying attention every minute of our stay. They've made all of our wishes come true. What we really recommend is: taking the motorbike/bicycle through the streets out of the hotel - the people are so nice and joyful and it makes so much fun to reply on every "hello" of numerous kids living in the area around the hotel, the food is fabulous and rich in variety - we really recommend the fresh daily fish or the lobster for dinner, We also really enjoyed the sunsrise breakfast on the dragon boat from 6-8am or the full day trip to the gili islands and for those who really like to relax you're welcome to take the 5 hours massage/treatment at the spa (best greetings to Sari), The accomodations are really nice and you get full private villas with lots of space, Don't get scared when the power is going dead at night sometimes (happened once of our 11 nights stay), Also take a look at the beautiful and big starfishes and take care of the black sea urchins close to the beach, You shouldn't leave without a really awesome sunset dinner on the beach or a bech breakfast in the morning (even if it's hot :D). If it would be our choice we would give Tugu the travelers choice award for the next years. It's for sure that we will come back soon.
Review 39:Water shoes is a must getting in the water... Shells everywhere.
Review 40:We stayed in a gorgeous 1 bedroom bungalow with an amazing outdoorshower for just a few days to decompress after our adventures in Bali. After our fun filled adventure days in Bali, we were exhausted andneeded a place we could just relax with little to no worries. This wasthe place! We almost never book hotels since we believe it's themost insincere way of truly immersing ourselves with the country'sculture; bed and breakfasts have always been our favorite form oflodging. However, this was the only exception! If you're looking fora place that offers an Indonesian experience with a less touristy feeland tons of amenities, this is it. We did a sunrise picnic watching thesun rise over mount Rinjani which was one of the best experiences thisfar. We also received a complimentary half hour massage and loved it somuch, we booked an hour long massage as well. The food was delicious andvery flavorful.. The only complaint is narrowing down or choices... Toomany good choices! Originally we planned a full day tour to the Giliislands on their dragon boat but we loved the hotel so much wedidn't even bother with it anymore. The pool is consistently oneHeight throughout which made it easier for me since I'm not such agreat swimmer. We had dinner on the beach and got to choose ahead oftime the fresh fish caught for our dinner! They had complimentaryafternoon tea with Indonesian desserts which we kind of took advantageof. Haha Also the beach was clean with soft white sand and clear water;although it's not a private beach, it felt that way because we neverran into anyone else except those at the hotel.
Review 41:Pricy services; breakfast not included in room rate.
Review 42:Superb and romantic location away from the main stream tourism; very friendly and helpful staff always remembering your name; private harbour from which you can reach Gili Islands within 20 minutes by the "Dragon Boat"; lovely candle light dinners at the beach; amazing sculptures and art; stunning "wild" landscape.
Review 43:It is very difficult to find out something to complain.
Review 44:Antique reception building is very impressive and beautiful (as proved to be an old building collection of art). With artistic impact of traditional Hindu and Bhuda style as well as natural setting of environment, room, pool and dinning hall , mood of tranquility could be well felt eveerywhere. Long private beach, distant green landscape and mountain view and transparently blue sea intensify quiet atmosphere for relaxation. Room is spacious, well decorated and fully equiped in traditional styple. staff are very friendly and efficient, every request is well served in time. Foods of western and eastern dishes served with various fruit are very delicious. It is really unforgettable expereince in Tugu and hope to be back again soon.
Review 45:Our only complaint would be the beach. Beautiful view but the water was not clear. It was full of seaweed and broken coral so it was hard to swim or even walk on the beach.
Review 46:Quiet and peaceful resort which was perfect for a honeymoon. The restaurant was wonderful especially their service of the romantic dinners around the resort grounds which are full of authentic antiques and beautiful pieces of art. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back again.
Review 47:Just a small thing that in our Kampoeng villa the entrance door was facing the pathway and one can look into the room, although not very crowded there, for a better feeling, maybe a curtain would be good.
Review 48:Very beautiful and spacious hotel, with a lot of privacy, great service with possibility to chose any location of the hotel and get any meal set up for you there - especially recommend dinner at the beach. Healthy and delicious cuisine. Atmospheric bar and wonderful spa. Many options for exploring Lombok, but enjoying relaxation in Tugu and not doing anything is a very compelling option.
Review 49:Prices in restaurant are as high as the room prices. The hotel is located on some back road so do like us and take a boat to here from the Gili's!
Review 50:One of the most beautiful hotels we stayed at in Indonesia. The entire decor of Indonesian antiques is incredible. Awesome pool and great views from the beach.
Review 51:Great place to relax and enjoy the feeling of being far from everywhere though you can easily reach the busy Gilis by boat .We appreaciated very much the friendly staff( reception, restaurant and room service) who cared extremely well about us ( little welcome messages and breakfast table on the beach ) Their smiling faces every day we will never forget. The food in the restaurant and the massage were excellent . We also used the bikes to see a little bit of the countryside.
Review 52:We had a small issue with payment at check out. We were charged for ourfull massages when we were told we'd receive 30 min massages eachfor free for our honeymoon. It was later mostly rectified. We wouldstill highly recommend this place and would go back ourselves.
Review 53:Everything. Our bungalow was comfortable, large, and beautiful with theprivate open-air bathroom. The staff were more than friendly andaccommodating. You were treated so well, we didn't want to leave. We had two dinners on the beach and an amazing afternoon spa session. It was bliss. A great way to end off a honeymoon by feeling like amillion bucks
Review 54:Not for party-goers - it's quite remote. Ran out of white wine!
Review 55:Outstanding hotel, location is second to none in terms of beauty, proximity to Gili Islands, fabulous grounds, beach, pool, spa and very welcoming. Perfect destination for honeymoon or romatic break.
Review 56:With the new airport location, the distance to get to the hotel could take as long as 1hr 45mins! if you have motion-sickness, it would be best to take a motion sickness pill prior as it travels through winding route in the jungle. BUT.. upon arrival, it was worth it. Nothing can de done about the distance, but FYI anyway. The water in the swimming pool was not really clear, nor does it look like anyone would want to swim in it, then again, you are there for the beach, the pool was probably an add on for a nice touch.
Review 57:The strongest point of this hotel is that it has character. I like how the hotel maintains its characteristics and its rustic-ness plus its originality of ensuring that the place isn't too modernized. the facilities are top-notch, beautiful white sandy beach, staff are friendly with an ever-ready smile. Food is so good as well! Compliments to the chef(s).
Review 58:Beach isn't perfect (some chorals and seaweed), but this is pretty much the only downside to otherwise fabulous Tugu
Review 59:Very friendly staff, lots of nice personal touches (staff know your name, write little dinner/breakfast greetings), huge and very well appointed rooms, super comfortable beds, good food, beautiful grounds
Review 60:An absolutely amazing hotel! The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and provided great service. They knew us by our first names which gave it an intimate feeling and when the manager discovered we were extremely sore as we had just returned from Rinjani trek, he offered us an extras at their spa temple on top of the massage we had already booked. The spa in itself is a fantastic experience. Some great sights and snorkelling off the hotel beach. The full moon dinner surrounded by candles, was one of the most romantic settings and our room was incredible full of antiques, a rainforest shower, a hot tub, great seating area etc. It was definitely one of the most beautiful hotels we have been to!
Review 61:The beach had sharp cral pieces that made it difficult to walk on.
Review 62:The villa room was large, the bed seemed larger than a king. There was a beautiful outdoor rain shower and copper tub. The grounds were spectacular with native crafts and antiques. Excellent food and service.
Review 63:((About two of the 30+ employees didn't look too motivated)) Corals at the beach and shallow water.
Review 64:Only few guests at the hotel. Very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. There was never a run for good seats at the beach or the pool - always plenty available.
Review 65:Evening meals were pricey but quality was reasonable.
Review 66:Wonderful setting, excellent accommodation and a warm and friendly staff. Breakfast and afternoon tea were superb.
Review 67:My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
Review 68:Paradise. Pure paradise. The level of attention to detail in this place is astounding, it is very beautiful and you really do feel faaaaaar away from reality. Everything is on your terms. No waking up early for breakfast - you decide when you want it, where you want it and what you want. Relaxation to the max. Ridiculously romantic. The staff are always very friendly and very helpful. You get the impression that they really do enjoy what they do.
Review 69:The hotel belongs to the biggest art collector, all the details are absolutely beautiful. Total relax, with a great pool and even better private beach. The staff is charming.
Review 70:nothing. absolutely everything was amazing.
Review 71:This place is just amazing. Never been to anything like it before. It is situated on a perfect strip of white sand beach away from everything. The staff make you feel so comfortable, are all so friendly, but not overbearing. A perfect balance. The attention to detail is infinite. Just amazing. Will definitely be back
Review 72:i dont think there is anything
Review 73:Amazing resort, very personalised service, extremely friendly staff. dont miss the snorkeling excursion, bicycle ride, the amazing beach with view over the Rinjani mountain. The rooms are huge, and very nicely decorated. the appreciation from the owner for art was much appreciated!
Review 74:Paradise! Rooms and grounds are just amazing. Right on the beach. Totally relaxing. Staff are fantastic. Quiet, relaxing, comfortable, romantic, beautiful. Paradise!!
Review 75:The attention to detail and service was second to none. We were given a warm reception from the manager and a farewell from all the staff was a nice personal touch. A thoughtful and delightful place to rest your head and laze on the beach. The complimentary afternoon tea was also a very nice touch. The food was fabulous and the presentation superb.
Review 76:2 hour drive from the airport
Review 77:Fantastic place that captures the essence of Indonesia. The staff wasvery friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The beach wasbeautiful and not crowded. At times, we had it to ourselves during theday. We wished that we had longer to stay and will definitely try tocome back.
