Review 3:Have stayed here twice myself n my husband we are both in our forties its very welcoming n lovely atmosphere great value for 99 euro for one night. Lovely town n shops n great restaurants we will be back keep us updated with the great offers etc. Happy new year to you all xxxxxx
Review 4:The leisure centre could do with an upgrade, the changing rooms were very grubby and small. My parents double room was very small and way too warm.
Review 5:The staff were all very friendly from the front desk to the leisure centre. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. The bar food was good. The bunk bed in our room for the children was a big hit. We had a family room, which had loads of space along with the bunk bed, a single bed and a double bed..
Review 6:Beds were so uncomfortable..Bathroom toilet dirty..drink in the bar not great..hotel itself had musty corridors..Our view from the room was of roof tops of joining building..
Review 7:Room decor was nice..food was nice..
Review 8:All was good for me
Review 9:It was great night could not complain had a double room very spacious it had everything your needed bathroom was spacious aswell wifi was great cause in some hotels it can be a tad slow but you have two options to choose from...even called me to see where I was... No noise was heard from other guests either
Review 10:was waiting in bar for a long time for someone to take my order from bar menu. they were very busy at the time with xmas parties i suspect. i went to crokers restaurant where we got immediate attention.
Review 11:family room was very spacious and very clean. beds very comfy. like home from home.
Review 12:Soap dispenser in our room didn't work no shower caps the fire alarm went off 3 times when we went to check it out we spoke to a very nice young man that worked in the leisure centre he told a fire glass had been tampered with we didn't see any duty manager,on visiting the bar it was Saturday evening and x factor was on TV the sound was turned up so high a lot of the bar staff were glued to it we just left and went else where to have food we returned to the hotel around mid night the hotel was very busy so we went to the residents lounge and the smell of cigarettes was terrible the smoking area wasright out side the window
Review 13:We had a friend who couldn't travel due to cancer treatment and fell ill the night before. The Hotel were not very understanding on this and charged for his room
Review 14:The Location
Review 15:Did not like the 10 minute walk from car park to hotel with heavy bags Did not like my room being at least 5 min walk from getting out of lift Did not like that nobody served me or guided me at breakfast Did not like that the room facilities were basic
Review 16:It's on the quays
Review 17:The Internet in the room was too slow and kept dropping off. The hot water was not consistent and ran cold when the gym was in full use. Parking building quite some way from hotel and no provision for parking at front door to check in out luggage.
Review 18:Staff helpful and assistance provided promptly
Review 19:Having to take 2 elevators to my room along with long walk in between. Hallways were very drab and tiered looking. A plant or a nice picture strategically placed would improve the ambience. The decor in the hallways appeared generally very tired creeky uneven floors worn carpets etc.. Bed was not very comfortable. Bath stopper didn't work had to keep topping up bath water.
Review 20:Liked the staff, very nice and the Tai restaurant was wonderful again with very we coming staff. You have excellent staff.
Review 21:The only thing I found was that bar food was quite expensive
Review 22:Staff were so helpful and efficient and obliging - family room was ideal and everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - couldn't fault it
Review 23:Noise in bedrooms from air condition units, Management changed rooms but wouldn't give a discount. New room had creaky beds and road traffic noise. Hotel is very tacky. Breakfast poor and limited.
Review 24:Food was nice, stay at another hotel and eat here in the restaurant.
Review 25:We were put up in the new wing of the hotel which was like a 6 mile hike. The rooms were lovely..a couple of flaws the bathroom needs to have some tlc and the wheels of beds need to be taken off you sit on the them and you end up in the bathroom
Review 26:We've stayed so many times now. We're like part of the furniture link. The new kiddies room is very good
Review 27:Reception area not nice surrounding to sit around / wifi not the best / breakfast very basic wud have liked tea coffees served long queues for food
Review 28:The pool all same dept very safr great kids club
Review 29:When we arrived the two reception staff were just changing shifts.. Leanne and Bert and he insisted she deal with us as she had another 4 minutes before she could clock off. He then indicated that we must be there on business as what else would take you to Waterford! Comically, he's not Irish. Leanne checked us into a room that was a double bed.. We were two female work colleagues. The air conditioning unit was a fan on the floor. The furniture and decor was from the 60's! I rang reception as informed them this room is not what was advertised and asked if there was a new wing? Their was and they moved us to a junior suite. Bert comented he knew the room wasn't up to scratch as he directed us to the suite. The suite was dirty. The holes in the wall where the previous telly was were still there unfilled, the carpet stuck to your feet, the bathroom door on the inside was all dried out from condensation over years and it looked Badly in need of painting/varnishing. The windows were filthy and looked out into flats across the way, but as there was no net curtain there was absolutely no privacy unless the heavy curtain was pulled. I'd never stay again, it really needs money spent on it. The location is fab with the beautiful restaurants up the quay, such a shame it is so unloved. Typical hotel that has been neglected since the recession which explains the deflation in the staff. I've never written a review before so I don't comment likely.
Review 30:The young man at breakfast, obviously a part timer/student, was very friendly and stood out from the rest of the staff as the only one who didn't dislike being there.
Review 31:Location is excellent.staff were so helpful and friendly and there was plenty of staff, which meant excellent service.food was excellent.cant fault our stay
Review 32:Thought it was going to be as nice as the treacy's hotel in Enescorthy. This one was not nearly as nice. The pictures of it on bookings.com are deceiving. We used bookings.com for every nights stay for three weeks in Ireland and this hotel the most run down and not as clean as much. Staff was nice and friendly at least
Review 33:Was staying on the 4th floor was a nightmare trying to get to ad from my room, and as far as directions from staff no joy. I would not stay in this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone else no way
Review 34:Hotel needs a makeover. Free parking was 3 blocks away, had to park in public car park €4 every time you went in and out. Our room was directly over the bar which had loud live music till midnight, so could not sleep but we weren't told about this
Review 35:very dated, bed uncomfortable, poor eating choices for vegetarians. I specifically booked this hotel for the spa/leisure facilities however when I went to the pool the sauna and steam room were not working. When I asked about this they said there was another one in the spa area but it shuts at 6pm and doesn't open until 10am-not suitable for me as I was working
Review 36:good location
Review 37:Rooms not great. Was very bad smell in corridor and rooms very small and dated. Shower took 10 mins to heat up. Floors in Corridor very creeky everytime someone walked by even during the night was very noisy.
Review 38:Excellent staff.. very friendly and chatty. Great location.. food was also good.
Review 39:Breakfast- continental implies to get a selection of products. Cheese, ham even sausages weren't displayed at the buffet. The room wasn't hoovered and the bathroom wasn't washed clean. While I assume that the bed linen was changed, there was no flat sheet which to give me a sense of "protection". Malfunctioning heating- staff friendly and assistance given- took more than 1 hour to get a source of heating in the room.
Review 40:Staff was extremely friendly and courteous
Review 41:Smell in corridors and decor in hallways and bar very dated. smell of stale drink in bar. Playroom nice for kids but room where parents sit off bar is very dark and gloomy
Review 42:Bedroom and staff
Review 43:Cards to turn the lights on; lack of information at check in. Parking was not easy to find. Rooms were dark and need to be updated.
Review 44:Near downtown; location to find.
Review 45:No bedside lamps as there was no plugs there. I couldn't charge my phone beside me but most annoyingly when I woke in the middle of the night the lamp was on the other side of the room. Rooms aren't very soundproof you can hear every little thing next door and in the hallway
Review 46:Location was excellent, leisure centre was great this was the reason I booked here as barely any other hotels have a gym/pool. Breakfast had a lot of options. All staff I dealt with were nice and helpful
Review 47:Staff friendly and very helpful. Meal in restaurant was lovely and homely, a nice atmostphere. . Plenty to choose from with breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Long walk to bedroom, lifts small but it's an old hotel so what do u expect and it has recently been done up. Finding room with few drinks was an adventure lol..
Review 48:The breakfast food was cold you need to higher your temperatures under the bramburies put more water in them so it will keep the food hotter for longer and get the toasters fixed
Review 49:The staff are very friendly an helpful and make you feel welcomed
Review 50:Room Got Very Warm At Night But Having A Fan in The Room Soon Sorted That !!
Review 51:Absolutely Fabulous Hotel in a Great Location . Staff Very Friendly & Attentive Loved The Pool & Jacuzzi Too
Review 52:The staff are so friendly and helpful. We were in the new part of the hotel which is really lovely. The pool was lovely and warm and jacuzzi was super. We had a meal with friends on the second night and the lady that runs the restaurant was so helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here:)
Review 53:Room very small and floor tilted resulting in bottom of bed raised, should have complained as thought it a bit expensive
Review 54:Staff were very friendly, great atmosphere in hotel bar
Review 55:The shower curtain was too short and water went everywhere. It needs to be replaced with a longer one.
Review 56:Very good location in the city, staff were very friendly, has an old world feel to it.
Review 57:I left a novena which was of great sentimental value to me under my pillow and it would have been nice if it was handed into reception I rang hotel on two different occasions to see if it was found and nobody had handed it in, I was disappointed
Review 58:The location was excellent, staff friendly, very nice atmosphere, lovely view of river from our window, but when we asked where parking was, it was described in a way that we found difficult to know how to find it,also could have been told to leave our luggage there while we parked, would have been so much easier
Review 59:Very much in need of an upgrade this is a tired and dowdy hotel. Our first room was very disappointing, not at all like the clever photos on the website and we could hear every word from the room next door, even at normal conversation levels. (The room had two sets of adjoining doors). The reception staff moved us immediately to a better room which might have given us a better impression of the hotel had it been allocated to us in the first place.
Review 60:Staff efficiency
Review 61:Breakfast a little bit poor. Not many choices except Irish Breakfast.
Review 62:Almost everything was perfect. Free parking in parking-house.Very nice view over the rivèr (fjord). Nice rooms and friendly staff.
Review 63:I love staying in Treacys Hotel as it is always very comfortable and welcoming. I love that it is just across the bridge from the train station, so convenient. The leisure centre is also amazing.
Review 64:Location is perfect and the size of the room was excellent, good food and atmosphere in the bar, nice swimming pool, extremely friendly professional staff,my twin girls had lost little earrings we had purchased earlier in the day while having our dinner in the bar, I had left them on the table behind us when we went back they were gone and the girls were upset,Marian the customer service manager came over immediately to offer help in finding them and also went out of her way the next morning at breakfast to see if the girls were ok, she was extremely kind and a credit to the hotel, there should be a "Marian" in all hotels.
Review 65:Bar food slow to come out as forgotten about twice and twice had to clear my table as plates there over half hour after finishing. Food overpriced aswell.
Review 66:Loved the kids zone allowing parents to relax and have a drink. Excellent location
Review 67:The hotel needs maintenance and updating. Carpets worn and stained, walls marked, huge laundry units stored in the corridors. Bathroom door in the room had to be kept closed at all times because "the steam from the shower sets off the fire alarm". Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work so the entire room smelled of damp and mildew.
Review 68:Location was fine. Staff were friendly. Comfortable bed.
Review 69:Smoking outside door, you could smell it in reception.
Review 70:We enjoyed our stay at Treacys hotel. The walk to reception a little long, but everyone very helpful. Breakfast good, excellent location. Would stay again!
Review 71:The area at the back of the pub for children is filthy and it has been on our previous visits too. Tables are never washed down and the floor looks like it is never washed either. It's like the forgetten area!! Whilst it has been updated with a soft play area for the kids - which was hugely welcomed (Thank you) and TV's so my husband could watch the match, we feel this is the only area that lets the hotel down. Please give resources to this area!!
Review 72:Loved our room in the new part of the hotel. Breakfast was fab and we loved the swimming pool. We have stayed here twice before but in the older part. Staff were lovely also
Review 73:The rooms where very hot with no air conditioning so I suffered from a huge migraine which is not what you want while in holidays. The bathroom was not great and not a great standard. Told there would be extras in the room like a radio, bathrobes and slippers, toiletries and their was none in the room.
Review 74:Friendly staff, The food was very good. The Spa was beautiful. Hugh thanks to all the Girls as Spirit Spa especially Tracey for everything! The Spa is a huge hit and huge value for money would recommend everyone to go visit the Spa! Good value for money but a little disappointing
Review 75:Moved from first room as heat was unbearable & drawers were broken (also broken in the 2nd room). Rooms very small. The photographer who took the pictures for the website has worked wonders! Bathroom even smaller & very dark which must be why there are no pictures of the bathrooms published. Cold showers both days we were there (morning & evening). Had lunch first day in the bar. ...don't eat here. Cutlery, cup & saucer, teapot. ...all dirty. Teapot especially had never seen soap &water! When requested replacement staff didn't apologise or even seem embarrassed.
Review 76:Location. Pool area was ok. Went in the evening as kids not allowed in. Only down point here is need to bring ur own padlock for locker or else just do without
Review 77:i liked the food, the staff were very friendly and helpful but my overall experience of the hotel itself was dreary and in need of a good facelift. Especially the bedroom corridors and the bedroom was depressing.
Review 78:Had no bad experiences here at all
Review 79:All the staff were very friendly and most welcoming from the reception to the bar staff and even the ladies cleaning the rooms. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Review 80:Very old hotel very old fashioned needs to be modernised. Lifts were terrible you waited at least 5 minutes for it to come we ended up using several flights of stairs (it was quicker).
Review 81:Nothing much about the hotel?
Review 82:the bedroom was very small and needs a facelift the bed was very uncomfortable we has no tea spoons overall the room was very disapointing
Review 83:staff were great and food was lovely
Review 84:Hotel looks a bit tired, quiet clean but needs refurbishing, room was also quiet small
Review 85:I stayed for 2 nights, bed was ver comfortable, all staff very friendly
Review 86:Food (biscuits) left under bedside table. I didn't dare look any further. Shower curtain dirty. Shower head too low so neither of us could wash our hair...
Review 87:Staff were very pleasant Walking distance from everything (10 mins) Free parking very handy
Review 88:Travelled with an 81yr old disabled only 1 parking space allocated to disabled could never get into it had to park across the road which cost 4 euro everytime we used it.
Review 89:The staff are excellent
Review 90:Hotel decor is dated, carpets in the corridors were ripped and flawed in places. We were in the new section of the hotel which was over the leisure centre, we needed to get 2 lifts to reach our room on the 4th floor, which didn't help elderly companion and was quite confusing walking through a number of corridors. We were advised by a fellow traveller (not staff) that we could use the leisure centre entrance until 9.30 pm which made all the difference. Whilst car parking is available and free it was located 2 blocks behind the hotel it closed 10pm - 7am.
Review 91:Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and really nice to deal with. Location is excellent, right on the quay and within walking distance of everything. Food was plentiful with a good selection for breakfast. Bar food was tasty. Whilst the decor was dated and in need of repair in areas the hotel was clean.
Review 92:Everything
Review 93:The hotel was dirty, dark and lacked atmosphere.the food was of a low standard.my wife and I booked the hotel because of the pictures on their web site but what we got was totally different.when we complained, the manager gave every excuse possible.
Review 94:Couldn't fault anything.
Review 95:Staff is very helpful and friendly. Lovely hotel dont know why it gets bad reviews must be very picky people out there. Place is lovely and the staff are not one bit under trained or ignorant, like iv read before I went and had me a little put off about going with my kids. But had a fantastic time.
Review 96:Breakfast very very poor, no fresh fruit, no youghurts, no dairy, no continental breakfast except for one plate of yellow curled up cheese slices. Not a full Irish as billed, no mushroom, no boiled/fried egg, no potato cakes, no beans, no hash browns. Very time consuming- no set order and only one hot plate section. Leisure centre grim. Very dirty and rundown. Room had no safe or laptop safe despite requesting when booking, guests on same floor had both, hotel reception informed me I did not "need either as that block is newer and safer" duh why let me request one then, and give my fellow guests on the same floor both? Security I felt was an issue, as this block of rooms was located above the leisure which was open to the public and a public back street. Supposed to need room card keys to access floors to guest bedrooms, but on every occasion we could just pull open the door to each floor. If we could do this anyone could in theory come in off the street and do the same. It so happened between 1 and 3 am there was a group of rowdy people running up and down the hall roaring and shouting. Did not feel secure. Carparking an issue also, use the public carpark instead. Requested non smoking floor, when we opened the balcony door, there were cigarette butts everywhere. Shower curtain in bathroom grim. Whole place needs two weeks industrial cleaning and sanitising before a full refurbishment. Only booked this as we could not get a booking in the Tower Hotel, which is our usual haunt. Never again.
Review 97:The ladies running the kids club were wonderful, they livened up a otherwise bring evening, thanks to the weather. Staff in bar where we had dinner were very professional and courteous to the kiddies.
Review 98:Room was too small. Plastic cups in the room. Double bed was two single beds pushed together. I ordered hake fillet..dident get any potatoes with it and cold mayonaise was used as dressing.
Review 99:Nothing. It was a disgrase.
Review 100:The only thing I didn't like was the smell of smoke along the corridor where our room was & in our room.
Review 101:Staff were very friendly, food was lovely, the whole place had a very warm friendly atmosphere. Entertainment in the hotel was very good.
Review 102:When we checked in our room was beside the pool area. We smell cigarette smoke before we got to our room. When we opened the door of the room the smell of stale cigarette smoke was disgusting and the decor was very poor. We were moved to a better room. Staff were very friendly. Bar food was lovely, breakfast was poor. Hotel was in bad need of a good decor. I have stayed in nicer hotels in Waterford and got better value for it cost me to stay in Tracy's Hotel.
Review 103:My husband and myself stayed in treacys hotel waterford last weekend from the 3rd to the 5th July. We decided to eat in the bar on the first night.i had to ask for a menu then I had to ask someone to take our order. A female member of staff came to take our order and she wrote it down on the back of her hand.how unprofessional is that. Our starters arrived and they were ok nothing to get excited about but acceptable. Our main courses were a different story we ordered our steaks medium but they arrived cremated. We didn't eat them and when a male staff member came to clear the table he asked if everything was alright for us. I told him it was probably the worst meal I'd ever had and his response was (on a busy night standards slip a little and I don't get paid very much anyway)as much as to say I really don't care. I paid the bill in full (how stupid of me )and as I was leaving as an after thought he offered me a drink on the house which I refused. On the second night we ate in the restaurant as an evening meal was included in our booking. The meal there wasn't wonderful but somewhat better than the previous night. The staff look like they're totally disinterested in their work and have no professionalism about them. When we left the restaurant and walked out into the reception area we witnessed a manager having an argument with a guest and he was shouting at her.now I don't know what it was about but the reception area was not the place for this. The bedroom was clean but in need of modernisation. The corridors smelt musty and the whole place in general looks tired and uncared for. When we checked out the following morning the girl on reception didn't even ask how our stay was. We go to waterford regularly and love it but this was our first time in treacys hotel and most certainly will be our last. It's such a pity to see a fine hotel being so neglected and staff who don't seem to take any pride in their work.
Review 104:The bed was not comfortable and the sheets had rips on them. The toilet wouldnt flush on the first try and the beds and room was not made up during our two night stay. The price of the drinks in the hotel and in the pubs that were open were extremely pricey which is something you dont expect when you go down the country. Its meant to get cheaper as you go further away from Dublin but this was not the case. There were not that many pubs/restaurants open however, if you are looking for a barber or a shoe shop then Waterford is what you are looking for but other than that, the recession is still very much happening in Waterford with alot of local business' closed down which was extremely disappointing.
Review 105:The room was nice and the staff were very friendly. Our deal included dinner and the one of the starters was incorrect, it was fine because my partner swapped with me but the waitress noticed this and then brought out the correct starter with no extra charge.
Review 106:Very crowded hotel but I can't blame hotel for this. It was noisy as a result. Thought it was a bit pricey for a three star. I reckon high season prices.
Review 107:Location, swimming pool and gym. Also very friendly staff.
Review 108:Toilets in Resturant (Thai ) upstairs above Resturant weren't dirty , they were filthy, feet stuck to floor, Hand towel , not very hygenic Bar was dirty ,
Review 109:Friendly Staff
Review 110:Constant noise from what sounded like an extractor fan near our bedroom window, view from that room was awful. Toilet wouldn't flush properly and water took about five minutes to heat up.
Review 111:Lovely friendly staff, great food and good location.
Review 112:Check in was easy but when we were given a map to our room I was shocked it took us an hour to find our room so many stairs and corridors at least we were put in d new part of hotel which was clean I would not like to be put in old part as very dated and old d carpets in corridors were all lumpy and d changing rooms in d swimming pool were not nice at all could do with updating and cleaning . breakfast was a disgrace rashers were half cooked was no sausages no toast wasn't very hot . don't think we will b back as for parking facilities absolute discrace it looked as if building was going to fall down and rubbish on d stairs and homeless people hanging around didn't feel very safe and too far away from hotel especially when it is lashing rain trying to get kids back to car
Review 113:Staff were friendly and helpfull
Review 114:I always like staying at this hotel, its location is good especially if you want to leave the car at home and get the train to waterford, the hotel is just across the bridge. A very comfortable hotel and i love the leisure centre.
Review 115:No hot water or heating in the room all day only at night time.Breakfast was very poor choice. No pasteries for those who don't eat grills.
Review 116:The staff were very friendly.
Review 117:I thought the cleanliness of both the bedroom and in particular the bathroom was way below average standard. I found long black hairs(not mine) on the towels in the bathroom, dirty floor and grotty tiles. The furniture in the bedroom was stained and dirty. Horrendous.
Review 118:The road home to Cork!
Review 119:Walls/ceiling seem to be paper thin. Woke up at 7 just because a person was walking back and forth in room above us, so noisy!
Review 120:Basic hotel, great location. Nice staff Clean room
Review 121:Difficulty locating the room was a maze!!in the end we took the lift t the leisure centre and went in through the main door of the hotel when we were checking out the girl wad not very friendly did not ask how was our stay was.
Review 122:Close t the centre of the city
Review 123:dirty, especially the breakfast area poor breakfast staff on check in were to bring bags to the room. we later found them unaccompanied in the entrance hall.
Review 124:location
Review 125:Breakfast v v basic no choice ran out of coffee no menu r choice and half the restaurant was closed off with reserved signs to save them cleaning totally lacked atmosphere robot girls there no personalities
Review 126:Our room & the bar food &I the reception staff
Review 127:As a smoker I was glad they had rooms to accommodate us better then standing in the street as it makes you feel more at home people that don't smoke won't care this is a persons choice
Review 128:There was no information/welcome pack in the room which could of been quite useful rather than having to ask the staff questions that would be frequently asked during guests stay. The fire alarm did go off during the night due to another guest smoking in their room and woke us up but other than that no complaints
Review 129:The staff were friendly and helpful especially the receptionists . The room was quite basic but you get what you paid for. The food was lovely and reasonably priced
Review 130:Staff Staff were very friendly and welcoming and breakfast was excellent also evening meal.
Review 131:room very basic shower in room was very poor and didn't appear to work correctly, Jacuzzi was out of use on Saturday
Review 132:staff very friendly and helpful;
Review 133:Parking not clearly labeled. Lamp broken in room. Vanity table dirty and covered in some sticky substance. Not all breakfast food set up at 8am when started at 730am.
