Reviews for Hotel Pinija
Review 1:No sea view as the trees blocked it all out. Food was bland and tasteless, like a staff canteen. Pity they don't offer an alternative.
Review 2:Pleasant friendly staff. Comfortable room.
Review 3:A little difficult finding the place from the old city. Parking very haphazard, but room for most self-drive guests.
Review 4:One of the better hotels we have stayed in, on this trip. Excellent friendly staff, great amenities including large indoor pool. The breakfast menu selection very good, and the added (dinner) meal, very good and good value.
Review 5:As we visited in early October, most of the facilities (Outdoor bars, Terrence Bars, Golf, Tennis etc) were closed. The hotel however was full so these services would have been useful.
Review 6:Very nice and helpful staff. The food was excellent and varied. The indoor poll was clean and ward and the gym was good. Clean rooms and good shower. Overall a good hotel.
Review 7:Wifi times out and entering the username/password repeatedly gets tiresome
Review 8:Great location at the end of the bay -perfect sunset views. Close to Zadar and the much nicer Nin. Waking (5-7 mins) by the bay takes you to the cove with nice fish restaurants. Good rooms (if you get a water view), great facilities (pools, water sports, bikes, volleyball...), good breakfast and overall just a cool place for a vacation
Review 9:The wifi connection was not good, you had to constantly reconnect to it. There was a bit of a lingering smell in our room that never went away.
Review 10:The location right on the beach was great. The room was modern, clean and the beds were comfortable. Great view from the sea side room. Breakfast was good value. Visited the spa and had a good massage, they did a nice job on the facilities. Lots of free parking was great for our rental car
Review 11:Some staff not friendly at all!! Really rude. Nothing on in evening to entertain. Hard to get a seat for dinner as so many people reserve seats.
Review 12:The room and view was nice
Review 13:Negatives have to be on the size of the room - we paid a bit more to have a premium room and it was so much smaller than advertised in all the photos. The fridge & aircon were really noisy at night which was annoying! Mini-golf and sauna weren't open which was disappointing, perhaps it's off season? But the hotel was still busy so it seems too early to shut things down. Beach is nice but shouldn't have to pay for beds and also towels aren't provided but they should be!
Review 14:We stayed here for two nights which to be honest I think is a perfect amount of time. If you've got a car then you'll be travelling round anyway but I think the negative reviews are perhaps people who have come for a whole week. The pools are great and it's such a pretty location. We rented bikes and went to Nin which was a great idea too! The gym is well equipped and the food is really nice! We liked it anyway - loads of choice and all hot, really tasty! Rooms are cosy and bed was very comfy! It rained when we were there and we still found stuff to do.
Review 15:Old side(Blok C) of hotel was dirty, uncomfortable, full of Mosquitos, no any wifi. But Blok B is completely new, clean and wifi was ok. Give 5€more for staying the new side
Review 16:Perfect clean and smooth sea..
Review 17:The outdoor pool is colder than the sea
Review 18:Pleasant place, just a few mins walk from the viĺlage and next to the bus stop to Zadar. Good selection of tasty food.
Review 19:We were told that going for a stay in mid September that everything on site would be available and open (apart from one bar) but this was not true. The majority of guests were coach trips who though friendly added an in & out atmosphere which was excentuated by poor canteen food.
Review 20:Water side and view of the sunset. Being able to walk in to nearby Petrčane. Room was well presented.
Review 21:having to pay for hotel sunbeds on beach at 40 Kn per day (approx 5 Euros) All meals were buffet style, no a la carte menu. The lifts were very small and waiting time was rediculas.
Review 22:Close to sea. Polite staff, customer focused
Review 23:Although it says the WiFi is hotel wide, it doesn't work in at least some rooms: we never successfully got a WiFi connection in our room on any of our devices. Also disappointing is the buffet food. Despite there being a fairly big variety, there are hardly any vegeterian main courses available.
Review 24:The staff are really friendly, and very eager to help. We had half-board, but on the first night were due to arrive late, around 10:15pm. When we asked the staff the possibility of food, they explained that although the restaurant would be closed, they would have some food set aside for us. They were also very helpful with respect to airport transfers. Also good are the spa facilities, and the massages are excellent. There is a good private beach for hotel guests.
Review 25:Pool was small and no room. What beds that were there were in the shade. Mainly shaded. The beach itself was good. Apart from even hotel guests had to pay for sun loungers. Could imagine it gets really busy in summer as locals use it. Wifi couldn't be depended on.
Review 26:The hotel claims to be a 4 star but in reality it really is a 3 star. It would be a decent 3 star hotel but does not meet expectations against a 4 star. This applies to design, facilities and breakfast/dinner experience as well. Outdoor pool is very small and very few guests can enjoy it. The photographer did an excellent job with the photos of the hotel to make it look like a 4 star.
Review 27:Staff at reception were very supportive and kind.
Review 28:allwas good
Review 29:All was very good, great location, different types of beaches for everybody, good swimming pool, nice surroundings, close to village and Zadar, good service in hotel, great selection for breakfast. Nice clean and comfortable rooms and all surroundings. Very satisfied.
Review 30:problems with internet connection - :( old and small TV small shower place
Review 31:very nice and spacious hotel area friendly stuff tasty food safe parking
Review 32:Cooling system in room and restaurant shall be improved, there are not enough waiters during the dinner time, turist sometime stay thursty.
Review 33:Nice room and diversity food in the restaurant, incuding fish, enough place for stay on the beach behind pine trees.
Review 34:1. Wi-fi is very poor, in the room is almost impossible to connect, better connection is from the lobby, but speed is very-very-very low and device is disconnected each 10 min and you have to re-login. Wi-fi is almost unuseful. 2. Strange system of drinks distribution at dinner - only few waiters take orders for drinks and sometimes it is not easy to catch them for the order. Even water requires payment. 3. Beach and parking are used also by others, for small payment also other people can put their car on the parking and enter the beach - by good weather is not easy to park a car since no separate area for hotel guests is foreseen. 4. Animation is mostly in Croatian language. 5. Sun chairs on the beach require additional payment (around 3,5 euro/day).
Review 35:1. Good location - located in the pine park on the peninsula, some good possibilities for interesting trips 2. Great very long beach with different surfaces - small/big stones, concrete plate with natural trees shadow. 3. Very clean water. 4. Two swimming pools - one open air / one closed 5. Delicious dinners buffet, big choise, each day different - fish/shrimps/meat etc. 6. Tidy rooms.
Review 36:Some of the outside bar staff could improve their customer service skills and manners, others in the resort were excellent. Also need more staff taking drinks orders in the restaurants. Air con was very noisy and not cold enough.
Review 37:Gin and tonics. Lots. Reasonable selection of food.
Review 38:No single sheets in 35 degree days, air-conditioning struggling no dedicated shuttle to zadar, entertainment basic..Stones beach - no sand ?? Beach not dedicated to hotel guests - locals getting in..
Review 39:Location, breakfast
Review 40:The air conditioner was old and barely worked.
Review 41:The hotel is located at the edge of the sea with direct access to the water. Our room was a good size with a fresh clean bathroom.
Review 42:The basic room is pretty awful. Mosquitos, dark, TV old. No side bed lamps. Wifi kept dropping out & I couldn't connect. After having good spa treatments, i returned to the room had the worst smell u can imagine come from outside a (sewage truck). The smell was everywhere and horrendous. Reception weren't very helpful and just wanted to send a cleaner after I asked to speak to manager. I then bumped in to The spa manger who was lovely and I mentioned it and she called the hotel manager and we were given an upgrade to the best room which was great but the A/C in bedroom didn't work. Breakfast was very average. For the price it's ok.
Review 43:The manager at the spa was really great and helpful. Spa was good. After our upgrade to one of the best rooms we were happy (on our second day). It was lovely with seaviews and fresh sea air. Renovated rooms are good (budget not so).
Review 44:the same meals for breakfast every day
Review 45:great hotel, tasty meals, very helpful staff, beautiful long beaches, perfect beach with sand for small kids near the hotel
Review 46:feeling that managment are trying to save every penny even to telling the staff to limit the size of the Ice creams sold in the cafe to half of that available outside the hotel for the same cost. Also was difficult to get basic soap and shower gel
Review 47:choice of food at dinner was not always great. smell of drains in the bathroom. Meat was usually overcooked at dinner, and dinner finished too early (9pm).
Review 48:excellent breakfast (except for the coffee), great location, very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good facilities
Review 49:Spotty wifi; Not a problem, but important to know that you pay for your drinks at dinner if you choose the half board option.
Review 50:Very close to the water, great service, nice spa
Review 51:The location of the hotel is great and only a 10 minute drive to Zadar. It is clean and comfortable and the pool was great! We enjoyed the "beach" around the entire hotel property and the Orka restaurant. Great stay!
Review 52:- in the bathroom there’s a sliding door which leaves little gap between the door and wall and this solution isn’t very private. - breakfast was OK, but same everyday during our 9 day visit. Should include something fresh and more green for breakfast (e.g green salad, lettuce, carrot etc); - outdoor pool’s walls and floor were bit dirty; - indoor pool area was „cold“ – there’s should be something that makes this area cozy; - we got the room facing the front of the hotel, which was ok because there was no sunshine to the balcony and it didn’t get hot during daytime. But the worst thing about this room was a noise. Noise that came from tour buses and tour people. Every evening around 5 -7 buses arrived, their engines were working all the time when peole were leaving bus – noise from engine and bus climate systems was very irritating. And in the morning when we were still sleeping (our windows were opened), tour people already had their breakfast and waiting for the bus just outside the lobby – and they were talking and laughing laudly. This was the thing that we didn’t like. Good thing about tour people was that during day they were out and beach area was still quiet.
Review 53:+ room was big, plenty of storage space, big comfort bed, enough pillows, bathroom also good. + few times we ate dinner in the hotel also (paying extra 90kunas per person) – buffet style, enough choice and tasted good. Desserts could have been better, but you can choose fruits if the cakes/moussee doesn’t appeal you. + beach area and hotel’s territory is big and there were many pine trees so it was easy to find places in shadow. There was a sign that sunchairs cost 25kuna, but during our stay we weren’t charged yet (as the season just started). You need shoes to go for swimming, many small rocks. In pool area there are much better sunchairs than in the beach. Outdoor pool has some jacuzzi elements and was nice area. +/- Petrcane village is very small, only 5 restaurants ja one small main street. I like small villages, but without car it would have been quite boring.
Review 54:Most of the staff are very friendly, especially on reception but some others are a little abrupt. The food is o.k. but I would recommend breakfast only, there are some very nice restaurants in the area.
Review 55:A very clean and well maintained hotel. Excellent facilities. The room was a good size and the bathroom very nice.
Review 56:* one of two elevators didn't work. If you share the hotel with a group of 400 German retirees, this is going to end up in a disaster for everyone * choose your breakfast time carefully, the room was full at 06:50 already.
Review 57:* nice room with a balcony and a sea/pool view * very nice, large shower booth * many delicious options for breakfast * old but renovated hotel, very clean * sea is a step away, so are a couple of restaurants and a small market shop.
Review 58:No tea/ coffee making facilities in bedroom No obvious access to food or drink for late arrivals when plane had been delayed
Review 59:Easy access of indoor swimming pool Very helpful staff Ability to leave luggage until a late flight greatly appreciated Provision of bath robes
Review 60:We had a slight problem with wifi in our room as it was furthest from the reception area but it was available everywhere else and the manager did make a note of it with the intention of sorting it. Nice nice man !
Review 61:We loved the decor, the staff, the amazing view, the spa the grounds, the wee village, the quiet, the food, the helpfulness of reception staff. This is a perfect place for a relaxed holiday where you can just crash and burn.
Review 62:The staff could not do enough for you. I stayed on two separate occasions on business trips. The helpfulness of the staff, the rooms and the breakfast was faultless. I would without doubt recommend this hotel to anyone!
Review 63:Nothing really! My chap is a fussy eater but that's his issue so sometimes he did have a chip bitty for tea but Atleast he are!!
Review 64:The hotel were great, really accommodating, very nicely decorated inside and great facilities, staff were great, location ideal
Review 65:We only disappointment that we don't received 24 hours service because location is very quiet area, we need drinks or snack in midnight. Also we don't have tea or coffee in the room!
Review 66:Best thing is Spa, we received high expectations standard from their service!
Review 67:The A/C did not work in our room. The food in the restaurant (buffet) was absolutely awful.
Review 68:The staff was super friendly, the indoor swimming pool was nice, the room had recently been refurbished and looked pleasantly modern.
Review 69:I stayed out of season so they were working on the hotel and the grounds were a mess. The hotel décor was a bit cold. The breakfast was so so.
Review 70:The location is beautiful and the indoor pool for the kids was good.
Review 71:There was a wedding celebration on Saturday evening going on even beyond 2 am in the morning. It was impossible to sleep even with closed windows and we had to move to a different room in the middle of the night to catch at least some sleep. I have never experienced anything even close to this and the management of the hotel was way too passive to stop the incredible noise. My sleep is usually very good and I can tolerate a great deal of noise. But this was really too much. Stay away from this hotel on weekends!
Review 72:The hotel is at the beach within nice surroundings, although some distance from Zadar. It has a nice indoor pool for the cooler season.
Review 73:There is no taxi in Petrcane, so taxi are coming from Zadar city - quite expensive- between 100-150Kunas. The hotel cleaning personnel is sometimes irresponsible - need to point them out to change towels, shampoo... etc TV channels mostly in German, only one more or less music channel
Review 74:The best natural green location on Petrcane coast, I recommend half board and sea-view balcony rooms - nothing can be better to sleep under sound of nice small waves. Room was huge, huge and comfort bathroom. Internal pool and sauna are fantastic addition to the rest.
Review 75:- welness & spa facilities need renovation
Review 76:- some renewed romms are modern and of high comfort (strongly recommended) - tasty food - perfect location for those who need rest & silence
Review 77:Not really criticisms of the hotel, just comments on the area (Petrcane). The remote location would be fine if the weather is hot, or if you are happy lazing around using the hotel gym / swimming pools. If the weather is poor, there's nothing to do in Petrcane, and good like finding a local restaraunt that will actually be half decent (so you might want to go on hotel organised excursions). We had already stayed in appartments, and been to more exciting areas, so this was a 'lazy' place to stay for us at the end of our time in croatia (for which purpose it was good, but the sunny weather ended when we arrived there!!). The beaches around petrcane are all stony (and not that many of them). (None of this is the hotel's fault though).
Review 78:The staff were friendly and helpful, the buffet food was good (but you perhaps have to get there when the buffet opens, and the food is still hot). The indoor swimming pool was nice (and the outdoor one looked good, although we didn't use it). Good place to stay if you just want to laze around the hotel
Review 79:Nothing really but only to say there was a wedding on the Saturday night and I think most of the hotel guests probably didn't get any sleep until at least 3am due to noise from the disco. However, this did not spoil our stay at all.
Review 80:The hotel was modern. We had a lovely balcony with wonderful views of a very blue sea. The weather was perfect for out stay in October. The bathroom was new and was excellent, in fact all the hotel was better than expected. The food was very varied (3 nights half board) with all sorts of food on the menu, ie shark, turkey, pork, lamb, steak all cooked to perfection. Drinks were cheap compared to at home. We hired bikes for 3 days to get around the vicinity. I also had two massages in the spa centre, very good price.
Review 81:- Think school lunchroom style catering - The first room we were put into the air conditioning didn't work - The second room we were put into hadn't been cleaned since the previous occupants - Definitely aimed at targeting a more mature, coach tour type
Review 82:- Nice location on the end of a peninsula - Friendly staff
Review 83:I have a condition called coeliac .I went for breakfast and could not find any gluten free cereal or bread. I ended up having a bowl of fruit and a cup of coffee. Most Hotels have facilities in the rooms for making tea or coffee but unfortunately your Hotel does not. I think it would be nice for your Guests to give them the option to have a complimentary hot drink in the room if they so desire. Apart from what I have just written I thought the Staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and comfortable .I would liked to have stayed longer maybe next time. Please keep informed of your rates and any offers that you might have in the future.
Review 84:The location of the Hotel so very close to the sea.
Review 85:Rudeness of staff. Dirty bathrooms. Shower & toilet stank. Requested early wake up call was forgotten about. Massage cancelled -told 1 hr before . School canteen style restaurant . Distance from city.
Review 86:Bar staff were excellent.
Review 87:This 4 stars hotel is clearly what I call a false "4 stars". It is just because they have the required equipment. But in fact: - Dirty swimming pool - Room is not cleaned every day even with mosquitos splashed on the ground and doesn't smell good. Is full of humidity. The towels are not soft, the bathrooms is clearly in a bad state - The pictures are well taken on the website but the rooms are not as good as shown - The restaurant is not good, the food has no taste, full of "reserved" tables without any reason, big self-service food, even the coffee is not good, wine tastes vinegar, the diner time is really not a peaceful time with a lot of people around you... - Hotel full of one-day tourists with autobus, lot of noise - Price is too expensive for this hotel
Review 88:The waiter at the bar and at the reception was really great! Neer Zadar and quite peaceful emplacement with good sea view
Review 89:The hotel is specialised for impersonal, industrialised mass-tourism (though it wasn't a surprise - on booking.com it is clearly stated that the hotel has 300+ rooms -, but sometimes it was disturbing). At breakfast, fruit juices were too sweet for me, and the coffee was simply terrible, probably the worst I have ever had.
Review 90:The room was OK - nothing special, simple room with simple furniture, in a well-maintained, spotless condition. I got what I needed, but nothing unnecessary extra. Cleaned every day. Buffet breakfast was rich and qualitative, except drinks. Virtually the whole coastline of the small peninsula, where the hotel is situated, is a beach, which is mostly paved, with a lot of natural shades. The water is crystal clear. At the time of my visit (mid-September) the beach was very peaceful, one could even find his/her own private bay to enjoy the gentle autumn sun and the warm sea. There were several showers, sunbeds, a snack bar, and even Wi-Fi was available close to the building. The pebbled local beach is near the main entrance of the hotel (also with showers and a bar). Zadar is easily and quickly accessible by public transport. This hotel is a very good value for the price (other hotels nearby offered two-three times higher prices for the same period, I simply can't believe they are so much better).
Review 91:Food was just satisfactory. No need to go hungry but not always as hot as it should have been. On our first night the dessert was a choice of tinned peaches or decorated sponge oblongs!
Review 92:Staff were helpful with suggestions about where to go. They did that extra bit to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The location and parking were good. Hotel was easy to find. Not expensive so good value.
Review 93:There was no cattle at the room to make some tea. I arrived at midnight there was no restaurant available at the hotel or outside. I slept hungary.
Review 94:The area was nice, nice hospitality.
Review 95:Shower is really small, full of water after showering. Its equipment is old and needs to be replaced, the place is bit noisy during the night.
Review 96:Nice sea location, lot of sport facilities, good catering.
Review 97:Poor WiFi coverage Mediocre breakfast Pools were not heated Room facilities were lacking (bathroom door did not shut properly, no kettle)
Review 98:Location was excellent (sea & restaurants) Mini Golf and tennis excellent Good water sports facilities Flexible staff
Review 99:The fire alarm went off a couple times at inconvent times and the walls are extremely thin so you can hear everything that goes on.
Review 100:The view is awesome!
Review 101:There has been criticism about the soft beds. Well, yes, if you are sensitive to soft beds - as I am - you will have an issue here latest after the 2nd day.
Review 102:After reading some negative comments we were positively surprised. The location is great of course. But we also had a good impression about the personel (Andrea at the reception was especially great.) It's a rather big hotel so of course there are lot of people at breakfast but you don't have to queue up or wait long for anything. Just like in hotels like this - including the choice and quality of the food. The rooms are of reasonable size but if you are traveling with one or two kids you should certainly go for the superior or the family room. The normal rooms are ok for two only.
Review 103:Old room. Not cleaning well. The room. Parking place is not ok, if you are leaving by car is dificullt to fond anothet parking place. You can't use indoor swiming pool when you want. It is a 3 stars hotel.
Review 104:The personal from restaurant is very nice. Wi fi free. Food is very good and divetsity.
Review 105:- room old - shower leaking - unfriendly and unpolite staff - cigarettes scattered on the beach - there is a charge for chairs on the beach - WLAN not working
Review 106:Poor wifi. VERY, VERY noisy sea-view rooms ...DO NOT recommend for families with small baby (0-3) as the everyday night 'showtime' runs usually until 23h or a bit later. We closed all the doors and windows but it didn't help, as the noise was still very disturbing and our AC didn't work really well too, so we had to go for late night walks with our baby few times to be able to get her asleep...2 weeks in the hotel and after our first week our cleaning lady simply stopped to clean our room properly and left all the dust under the bed despite our tips to motivate her a bit...overall it was a positive experience but probably we'd think about it twice to book again...
Review 107:The hotel is located in a lovely village of Petrcane. Great location, VERY friendly staff, nice restaurant, pretty good half-board. Zadar is about 15 mins by car.
Review 108:Dirty room, hair after cleaning in the bathroom (not mine), elevator very slow, pool small, always booked from 6am so no chance to get a bed later.. Beach not nice.
Review 109:Room was nice but not clean.
Review 110:Sound insulation is terrible in rooms. Cleanliness is not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Majority of visitors are families with children.
Review 111:Has its own beach, which is just next to hotel. Access to all facilities. Breakfast is good.
Review 112:Restaurant very busy, more like a canteen, hotel guests reserving outdoor pool sun-beds with towels even before opening hours, restaurant staff wearing snickers and leggings -worth less than 4-stars
Review 113:Location, pine wood forest surroundings, proximity to beach, view from terrace of restaurant and outdoor pool, hotel room size
Review 114:The hotel claims to be a four star, but should really be categorized as a three star. The rooms are old, in need of painting and upgrading. The wifi is a joke. Staff was mostly attentive, but at times very stressed out. Breakfast was mediocre. I would have given this hotel better marks if they were a three star, but as long as they claim to be four star I honestly cannot recommend it.
Review 115:The location is excellent, nicely situated on a small peninsula with nice beaches on all sides. Zadar is just 10 km away, a very nice bike trip.
Review 116:The lady sitting outside dining hall in a white uniform was exceptionally rude and did not allow me to take out a piece of half eaten fruit that my 16 month daughter was eating. She asked me to pay 5 kuna for it. Very Unimpressive and rude service. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone
Review 117:Poor facilities - no kettle, not vey cosy (but basically comfortable) room
Review 118:Two beaches - calm bay is good for little children, more wavy sea on the other side for adults. Good pine grove and free parking on the territory, close to Zadar and supermarkets (if you go by car)
Review 119:1. You should pay for everything extra, even to lie in hammock or chaise-long. No water/mini bar in the room. All equipment and climatisation is old
Review 120:Nothing
Review 121:- Old fashion rooms to be refurbished - sauna unavailable without notice on the website that you can use it ONLY when the indoor pool is open, i.e. before June 1. - outdoor swimming by far too small looking at the size of this hotel
Review 122:- Staff is very helpful - proximity to the beach
Review 123:Lack of variety in the food. Especially when asked for dietary requirements.
Review 124:Food was not so good and dinner was cold. Cleanliness.
Review 125:Nice location and seaside view and friendly staff.
Review 126:none
Review 127:food & informality although in a large hotel we were lucky to join in the staff party and met the boss
Review 128:Sauna wanst working
Review 129:Very nice hotel
Review 130:Staff were lovely and very helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfy! Inside pool was nice and warm too!
Review 131:Eve meal could have been better specially for 8pm diners. Too many reserved places so difficult to find a set table.
Review 132:Groups able to reserve there tables .
Review 133:Everything .
Review 134:The smell in the bathroom.
Review 135:Locatiom, views
Review 136:Terrible beds - way too soft. Small rooms.
Review 137:good value for money, and some great people at the reception, very helpful and welcoming.
